Calendar conflicts

Ever since downloading the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager for my Bold 9700 I have had a problem I cannot resolve with duplicate calendar entries on the Blackberry (but not in Outlook that I synch with).
There are two calendars on the Blackberry, my own and Device Default.  I have made them different colours, but all of the duplicated calendar entries are in the colour of my own calendar.
However, if I switch from showing All Calendars to Device Default, duplicates disappear but the entries that are left are in the colour of my calendar, not the colour allocated to Device Default.
I have tried to switch to showing only the Device Default and deleting what is left showing, but sometimes this deletes both entries, so that when I synch again the item disappears from Outlook.
When I downloaded the Desktop Manager the following process cleared all entries having saved them, and then reinstated them when the new Desktop Manager had been installed, and in doing so created this muddle, which is is sending me around the bend.  Help needed please.
Thanks
David Corke

Did you get anywhere with this? I'm getting the same problem; my Outlook has just one entry... but each time I sync, a duplicate appears in the Bold 9700!

  • Resolving calendar conflicts

My question refers to syncing Outlook with a BB 9800 using BB Desktop Software 7.1.
Since doing my last sync, I changed some calendar items on the PC and the same ones in a different way on the BB.
When I now do a sync, all of these items show up as conflicts. When I used BB Desktop Software 6 in the past, I was able to look at each conflict sererately and decide to keep either the BB version of the change, or the PC version. By way of example, lets assume I have 10 conflicts. With BB Desktop Software 6, I could say that for 3 of them sync the BB value onto the PC and for the other 7 of them sync the PC value onto the BB.
Is there any way to do this with BB Desktop Software 7.1?

Sometimes you have to solve "sub-conflicts" (for lack of a better term) in order to resolve other conflicts.  From your screen shot, it looks like you can resolve some of the conflicts.  Once you get those resolved, maybe you can resolve the others.

  • How can I "selectively" accept or reject calendar conflicts when synch blkbry to outlook?

When I synch my calendar details list those items that will be added - deleted - etc.  What if I only want to accept some of them?  Seems to be no option other then accept (all) or not.  HELP.

I can't seem to do this successfully. I use the GAL to select the room, but when I send out the meeting I immediately get an automated response back that the delivery failed. I heard this may be because the iPhone OS does not distinguish between a normal attendee and a resource. Yet you seem to have it working. What version of Exchange are you using. Is it on Mac or PC?  We are about to upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2010, maybe that will help solve this?
Also, (this may just be semantics) on the iPhone under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" the Exchange configuration is set to "on" to sync calendars. Is this the same as having the Exchange calendar "set as the default calendar" mentioned above?

  • # of contacts & calendars increasing geometrically

I am syncing 3 macs regularly-several times a day, one of which is a MacBook. Occassionaly I get the annoying message that I need to make choices between certain calendar conflicts. After having done a bit of iCal work yesterday, (I keep certain attendance records and work projects there) I noticed that iSync was asking me if I wanted to add 5000 plus items and delete none. At my office machine this morning I was asked to accept or reject 18,000 plus new items. I checked my iCal on my office machine and saw that it was not updated with stuff I added last night on my MacBook. So, I reset the sync data and copied from .mac to this computer's iCal. The sync indicator is still spinning. This needs to stop, for my own records and sanity. Please help.

OK, solved my own problem! For anyone else having the same sort of problem, all I did was to manually delete my .Mac/MobileMe email account on my iPhone completely, shut down the iPhone completely, switch it on again, and manually add my .Mac/Mobile Me account back on the phone - this time using my address as [email protected], forcing it to use the me.com servers instad of my older .Mac servers.
Instantly I was able to toggle the buttons and switch on Find My iPhone, which is now showing up online in my .Mac account.
Now I've just got work out how to change my outgoing email address back again to [email protected] because I HATE @me.com! It's a horrible email address, and sounds really self-important.

  • Blackberry Travel 3.1.1.2 - Duplicate entries in Calendar after system restore

I love the Blackberry Travel app, it is an absolute must for me and I auto sync it to my calendar as a default setting. I have the Z10, and Blackberry Travel 3.1.1.2 software.
Every time I install a new OS, and resync my calendar from Outlook using  Link, after I reinstall and log back into Blackberry Travel, it will create duplicates of my upcoming trip entries in my calendar.
These are entries that were created by Blackberry Travel previously and were synced with Outlook prior to the system wipe and then restored using an Outlook sync.
It would be great if Outlook would check for calendar conflicts for preexisting entries that are exactly the same before adding a new trip to the calendar.
I also noted that if I have a trip (with a name October Travel) with a departure date of October 6 (for example) and arrival date of October 13, although the return flight is correctly placed in the calendar on the 13th, the entire trip is marked from October 6-12 (missing the last day in the calendar).
Please check on these issues, otherwise super app!

Yea, I've noticed the same on the duplicate entry issue, and just delete the duplicate.

  • Can't sync Lotus Notes Calendar

I have the Bold 9700, Desktop Manager 5.0.1.18, with Lotus Notes 6.5.5. I am not on enterprise server for email. Just want my work calendar to sync on my personal Blackberry. I am logged into Notes. I have sync set up for Calendar only in the Blackberry desktop softeware, only 30 days of history and 180 days in the future. When I start the sync, it just sits there, says its communcating to notes, but after a few hours, no records have been transfered to BB.
Here is the log after one hour trying just a few days of appointements.
One-way sync from Lotus Notes Calendar to Device Calendar
    First System: Device
    Second System: Lotus Notes
    Second System File Name: Calendar
    Conflict Resolution: Notify
Appointment Range: From 3/8/2010 To 3/10/2010
Total Inputs From First System: 0

    Hi,
Thanks for the hint, unfortunately calendar entries are quite simple (test and so on..)..
If I try to syncronize contacts and calendar I get no warning and contacts are syncornized OK but if I try to sincronize only calendar I got this warning
    PC Sync information.
PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation.
    Possible Solution
Please check your Synchronisation settings and ensure your phone is in the Idle state, then restart the Synchronisation.
trying to syncronize only in one direction also does not help....
Is there a way to see more detailed info about the warning?
    Thanks

  • Conflict Resolver Pop-up Window Won't Go Away

Since recent update of Snow Leopard, I have been unable to resolve between 8 and 10 (the count changes) calendar conflicts between iCal and Entourage 2008. The notifications are apparently generated by MobileMe though I do not subscribe to the service.
Entourage groups my sync services as calendar/Mobile Me and contacts/Mobile Me and there does not appear to be an obvious way to unlink the two. Nor can I access any preferences in MobileMe without ostensibly signing up for an account. And I am stuck with pushing data from Entourage to iCal and address book so I can sync my iPhone.
No matter how many times I go through the exercise of "resolving conflicts and re-syncing" via the pop-up, the window reappears on top of any program in current use. Even "x-ing" out the window is only a max 5 min fix before the window reappears. I was using the same settings in Entourage prior to the new OS 10 update so I think this is just a VERY annoying bug. Advice please? Apple, please fix asap!!

I am having the exact same problem. I just, finally, installed SL today, and updated everything, including the 800+ mg security update to SL. I use Entourage and an iPhone. Prior to this installation I had no trouble syncing my Entourage cal with my iPhone cal (via iCal, of course, but I never use it separately). I got a Sync Conflict box with about 12 errors. There had been some odd changes in the times of the events, but as they had all occurred in the past I didn't care that much. I went through choosing the best version (sometimes between just Entourage and iCal, sometimes with the iPhone tossed in the mix), thinking it was done. But I've been repeatedly asked to review the same events more than four times in the past half an hour. It would appear that this is a bug of some kind. As I'm new to SL I don't know if it is from the update or the original disk, but I'd like it to go away. Please help.

  • Calendars no longer sync across devices after iOS/Mac OS X updates

Ever since updating my MacBook Air to Yosemite and my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 (or maybe 8.1.1), my calendars no longer sync correctly across devices. Prior to the updates, any addition or change I made to the calendar on my iPhone would be added to the calendar on my Mac the next time I synced my phone. Now I have duplicate events on my phone, the calendar on my Mac no longer incorporates changes from the phone and I get a dialog box on the Mac 2-3 times an hour about calendar conflicts. No matter how many times I review the conflicts and choose which events/updates to save, the box keeps coming back. I've never had a persistent issue like this with any previous iOS or Mac OS updates and I can't figure out why it won't stop. Help, please!

OK, that was easy enough. Here's what I took from the log when I synced a few minutes ago. I kept the log entry for one of the multiple calendar sync conflicts.

  • I'd like to uninstall iCal and possibly iSync

I'd like to trash iCal and iSync and reinstall. How do I do this?
Right now it takes 20 minutes to an hour to do a mundane task such as deleting an event. I believe that either there is something wrong with the SyncManager or I have a hidden conflict. As to the hidden conflict, at this rate it could take me years to discover it since I have about 15 calendars.
I've posted a couple of replies to topics before about things that have worked for me when this happens in the past but nothing works for long. I've reset the sync history, trashed the sync folder, trashed the iCal preference files etc. and it seems to have no effect now.
I have my calendar data archived and also on my Palm. My Palm is my main calendar that I input new events. My plan is to delete duplicate entries and do general clean-up on my Palm, sync my Palm data into one calendar in iCal, re-create my calendars and then put the events to the new calendars. I have 3+ years of data so I'm not looking forward to this.

I went into my dummy user account and iCal worked like a charm I was able to do everyday tasks with blinding speed. I had forgotten how fast it was at one time! Sniffle! I was not able to sync to it from my palm though.
After this experiment I'm assuming that it's not the program itself. Yeah! Again, I think it may be a calendar conflict or the SyncManager is sick.
Instead of uninstall/install I may just try to delete each calendar (this could take about 15 hours if it takes an hour per calendar!) down to the basic HOME and WORK, empty them out then but still keep them then re-sync my Palm events one-way into iCal. I'll check the activity monitor to see if after I delete a calendar the SyncManger activity goes back down. Then I'll know if that was the problem.

  • Cannot view the detailed Email date and time about the meeting request

Hi,I am unable to view the detailed message and Date and time of a meeting request in the default Email app in my Sony Xperia P mobile. Even when i select the calender it does not defaultly go to the meeting date. I need to manually select the date to see the meeting. I cannot see the meeting details without accepting it.I have seen the better behaviors on HTC One V and Galaxy Nexus where full meeting details including message, Date, time, venue appears in the meeting request message. Is there any setting which needs to be changes or is it the limitation of the phone app.Regards,Pratik Ranjan

Hi Johan,Im also seeing this on my xperia s, ICS.  Here's some additional info i have after some testing:Work have Exchange 2010, I have sent calendar invites from outlook 2007 and 2010 clients and it works for the 2007 clients as it automatically adds the meeting details into the body of the request, something it doesn’t do in 2010, so it may be the way the calendar form has changed in 2010.   It also works fine when i get an invite from an external person. This however is just adding the text into the body, I too have tested with the HTC One S and Samsung Galxay S3, bith use the stock email and both display the time as part ofthe invite no tin the body of the invite,
In doing the testing I have also found another issue. I have found that it doesn’t inform you of a calendar conflict.ThanksMike

  • Incomplete iCal sync iPhone 4S OS6.0 & MacBook Pro OS10.6.8

    Hello community wisdom,
two weeks ago I switched from my old iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) to a new iPhone 4S (iOS 6.0). Since then I have an annoying trouble with incomplete syncing of my iCal calendars (MacBook Pro OS10.6.8, iTunes 10.7). I do syncing via USB cable only. Besides iCal no other calendar being used.
When I set up the iPhone 4S initially all iCal calendars, adressbook etc data got transferred to the phone correctly. Two days later sync warned me about several hundreds of calendar conflicts :-( asking me to delete the entries in iCal. I denied and instead let sync replace the complete calendars on the phone by the iCal calendar.
I was good for two more days. Then I realized that not all newly created events are synced correctly. Both events created on the iphone and created on the MacBook Pro were affected.
Shortly after that sync insisted again on hundreds of conflicts. So I did a backup of all my iCal calendars on the MacBook and let the sync do what it wanted. Then I have imported my backups under different names into iCal so I could make a side-by-side comparison. ... as expected hundreds of events past, current and future had been deleted. I am unable to see any systematic behind the deleted entries.
I restored the correct calendars in iCal again and let sync replace the calendars on the iPhone.... well, again, the sync did not go well and the calendars on the iphone are incomplete...
I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

that didnt work. Tried reset sync, didnt help. Tried pasting the command, and i got this response:
There is no (UpgradedbTries) default for the (com.apple.SyncServer) domain.
    Defaults have not been changed.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software - Stops working at the end of synchronization

During synchronization, the same handful of calendar conflicts come up.  After clearing them, and at the very end of synchronization, I get a pop up that "Desktop Software stopped working"...info fades out and the only option is to hit a CLOSE button which shuts down the software.
I no longer receive the synchronization report and although most data does sync, I am trying to determine the cause of this.
This is the only forum I can find.  I do not see a Blackberry support anywhere...

    Hello,
What is the version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software?
Have you tried to uninstall the Desktop Software and download and re-install the newest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software?

I have edited the post, the previous post indicated "Device" Software which was a typo for "Desktop" Software.

I am not so much worried about the music and app sharing as I am the former, but if individual accounts were to be setup, are we still able to share music and apps? Thank you in advance if you may have a resolution that will suite my possible conflict.

  • I get this error with iCal "generates a conflict" when synced with my Yahoo calendar. Help Please

I updated to Maverick "Mistake" and have been getting this error since "generates a conflict" with the new iCal and my Yahoo calanders. There werent any problems before the update. Any suggestions as to how to fix it ? Does anyone know how to go back to the last version of iCal ?
    Thank you for ANY help

Given that the calendars are hosted by Yahoo, I would remove the accounts, then re-add them back.
That shouldn't lose anything, but I don't use Yahoo so I can't say for sure. They use a standard CalDAV server, so all should be ok.
