Calendar/Contacts Desktop Access

I am a Blackberry newbie and currently converting from a Treo to Blackberry Storm.  When using the Treo, the Palm software that I used was the Palm Desktop which allowed me to access my contacts and calendar on both my Treo and on my desktop.  On my desktop, I selected the Palm Desktop to see all of my appointments and contacts.  How can I do this with the Blackberry?  With Blackberry desktop?  I have heard that I may need to sync with Outlook (which I do not have installed).  Is that my only option?

  • Versamail Exchange ActiveSync wireless push e-mail ONLY; Sync Contacts/Calendar via Desktop/USB

I use a 3rd party conduit, PalmPilot Link for Commence RM CRM software from Commence Corp. which works with the Palm Desktop sync engine to sync my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Memos. Recently I tested VersaMail 3.5.5 on my Rogers Treo 680 (despite zero support from Rogers) with push e-mail and loved it until I discovered I could no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar with Commence. Even with the options in VersaMail to sync Contacts and the Calendar unchecked they would not sync via the USB cable to Commence.
I have come across Palm Article ID: 42600 which states "Once you establish an Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail, you will not be able to sync Calendar, Contacts or Email through the USB HotSync cable". It would be nice if this wasn't the case when synching of Contacts and the Calendar are turned off. A call to technical support confirmed there is no way to do what I need with the current product version.
I have found a competitive product, RoadSync from DataViz does allow me to sync ONLY e-mail with ActiveSync so it would seem to be technically possible.  The problem with RoadSync is it's not a true push e-mail on the Treo 680 as far as I can tell and it seems a little pricey with fewer features than VersaMail, except for one feature which is very important to anyone who depends on 3rd party conduits.
Please consider releasing a new version or a patch to allow synching Contacts and the Calendar via USB while using Exchange ActiveSync push e-mail.
Note: The Commence CRM product for Windows has been around for almost 20 years and has supported the Palm OS for about 10 years. Commence users everywhere would love this feature in VersaMail. I do not work for Commence Corp. but have been a user since 1991 and a Palm user since 1999.

  • IPhone calendar & contacts missing from desktop

last night came home and my calendar & contact list are no longer on my desktop.  NO Idea where to look to get them back.  Still on my phone.

Save any photo stream photos to your camera roll, then go to Settings>iCloud, scroll down and tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPod and provide the password when prompted, then after a minute or so sign back in.  (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your iPod but not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your iPod when you sign back in.)

  • How do I Sync Email with BES and Calendar-Contacts-Tasks-Notes with BDS?

I have a Storm that I sync with our BES just for email and I want to sync my calendar, contacts, etc.. with the Blackberry Desktop Software.  First I was only able to sync my contacts... not my calendar.  Second, everytime I sync I lose my ability to send and receive email from my Storm and have to have our BES admin resend my service books to me so I can sebd abd receuve email again.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Did you install the desktop manager in blackberry enterprise or blackberry internet mode? I'm guessing it might be the latter, and it could be changing your servicebooks because of that... If it is installed for blackberry internet service, try removing it and installing it for blackberry enterprise service (this is a choice during installation).

  • How can I sync my new iPhone 4S to calendar, contacts, and photos on my MacBook?

Just bought my first iPhone after 2 years as an Android user. My 2008 MacBook would never talk to the Android, but now - they tell me - I can backup my phone onto my computer and share contacts, calendar and photos with the computer.
I've plugged the phone into the computer but the computer's Finder doesn't show it. And the phone indicates it's charging but doesn't show any way to swap data.
I feel like I'm missing something really basic ... but what?

All of this is handled through iTunes. You must have iTunes installed on the comptuer. Also, you will not be able to see any files in Finder, as the iPhone does not give you access to that information. The only time you will ever see anything from the iPhone in Finder is if you have photos in the Camera Roll.
After you download and install iTunes, you would set up syncing your device with specific apps on the computer, to handle calendar, contacts, and photos. You might want to start out by thumbing through the User Guide here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

  • Exchange Sync works for Mail, Calendar, Contacts - but not for Notes

    Hi,
I am using an iPhone 3G (16GB). The sync with my account on an Exchange Server (I think 2003) is working just great. Mail, Calendar, Contacts are all in snyc, but there seems to be no way of synchronising the Notes between the iPhone native app and the Exchange Notes.
Is there any way to make that happen?

Notes syncing is only supported via USB/iTunes sync with Outlook (Windows) or Mail (Mac), not via Exchange. So, there is no way to sync the native iPhone Notes app with your notes on Exchange. There are 3rd party apps that can access your Exchange notes, though.

  • Prohibit full remote desktop access and allow remoteapp

    Hi all,
How to allow remoteapp only while prohibiting full remote desktop access except for some users?
    Thanks

I am Microsoft Tech with Platforms Core  , I came across this thread rather recently. So as a Christmas surprise it can be achieved rather simply. Please follow following steps...
    1. Please navigate to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-TCP
    2. Change the value of port to anything from 3389.
    3. Also change it in remote app manager in RD Session Host server RDP Port to the port you have changed to in registry.
4.Please note it has to be done on all session hosts, redirectors  and Connection brokers.
    5. Now your remote app continues to work , however RDP done sans the exact port number will not work.
Please feel free to contact me on this.
Simple sweet and logical resolution. Cheers..Happy holidays :-)

  • Newbie converting from a Palm to iPod touch - calendar, contacts, etc.

I'm a brand new iPod Touch (and Apple) user, and have the iPT 4G. I've a Palm Tx I'd like to convert data from, AND continue using the Palm Desktop unless there is something similar that will let me sync and see (on a PC) my To Dos, Memos, Calendar, and Contacts. I have searched and seen lots of postings on the Apple Discussions and the web in general about this...but they are all old and not specific to the 4G, and I'm not sure what might have changed.
Suggestions? I think I will need Outlook (no problem), but not sure what else? And can't figure out what Mobile Me is, and if I need that too?
And what app will replace my Memos???? I've hundreds of them, and they are one of the most important and used data sets for me.
    Thanks for your suggestions!

I am considering purchasing the new touch, but am slightly different in that I've been using the original iphone for years. After much deliberation and evaluating how much use I really have on the device, in addition to shopping around for OTHER phones/devices, I realized that the games, music, camera, maps, contacts, calendar and apps are really the ones I use most. Now, I am a big texter, emailer, and live online, but realized that I hardly ever "MUST have" the 3G capability. And, when I do, I become so frustrated with the internet speed that I end up turning it off and waiting until I can hit a wi-fi. So being completely honest, it's more about the entertainment--and it's not so bad being "unavailable" a little more in my life today.
So similar question, but perhaps some more details please.....
I can tell you from the experience on my phone, you really need to have Outlook OR Windows mail in order for it to work well. You can sync with a variety of other programs, but other that Outlook or Windows you are going to have to employ some third party stuff or learn to go through multiple steps to sync. And, from my experience, it's still kind of "buggy" with itunes as is. Perhaps I'm just picky, but I can't seem to like all of the functions offered in one place...(i.e. calendar, contacts, mail) as I really like Thunderbird for mail and contacts, but really like Outlook's new 2010 calendar and multiple sharing options. I can't seem to get satisfied all in one place?
Apple would have you purchase +Mobile Me+. Tried it too--it works great, but it costs $99 minimum per year. Not bad if you will be using it a lot and at multiple locations (cuz that's the real purpose--to sync with work, phone, home, etc.), but I was not, so I dropped it.
I'm an old Old school outlook user, but trying to get unhooked from the office programs so I checked out Windows Mail (which comes with my windows 7 stuff), and with Windows 7 and Itunes 10 it works great! Outlook 2010 and the other office programs this year (I thought) were a bit too "overkill" for what I need anymore (now that I'm "right-sized") so after looking at basic options, I would say Windows Live (mail) or Outlook to be the best. Also, Windows Mail just launched their beta platform for hotmail and provides you with the basic same features that Apple does, but instead of $99 for Mobile Me, Live is free...it syncs with your away computers and home stuff and all of the 2010 office programs if you still find you want that.
Hope that help you albiea...perhaps someone else can provide a review of the down side to touch when moving from the 3G. Advice?
    Thanks!

  • Do recent versions of BDM sync emails as well as Calendar, Contacts etc?

Working with an 8800 and a PC with XP Pro SP2 and BDM 4.5 (just downloaded).
Single user... no Exchange Server, no BES.
Just BlackBerry, Outlook and BDM on PC.
Ealrier verisons of BDM would sync with Outlook - but only the non-email portions.  i.e. if you received 50 emails on your BB, and deleted 30 of them.  You could sync your device with Outlook and update Calendar and Contacts etc.  but you would have to go and weed through the emails again and delete the 30 from Outlook.
At this link for BDM http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
is the sentence: "Synchronize your email and organizer information (calendar, contacts, memos and tasks) between your BlackBerry smartphone and your PC"
Does this mean that BDM now handles reconciling emails as well?

I read that to mean email (information) and organizer INFORMATION, not email content.
    Just my opinion!

  • How to use calendar & contacts

I am a brand new convert from palm to BB.  Palm's desktop was straightforward in terms of using the calendar and contact.
    1.  What is a good program to use for a calendar & contact?
    2.  How do I sync the palm info to BB?  I am searching the net and cannot find anything.
    3.  Anyway to keep/mark a contact as private like yuo can in Plam?
    4.  Is there anyway I can just open on the desktop a calendar or contact and type in the various info vs. inputting direct into the BB?
    Your help is appreciated!!

I am also finding this difficult to use - I got the BB especially for the calendar and contacts.  I wanted to be able to sync my BB to my PC so I could always have an updated schedule with me.  I was also hoping to be able to use a desktop calendar to enter all my contacts into and have it sync to my bb.
I currently dont have a desktop calendar, and I don't have Outlook - how is this supposed to work?
My bf has a Samsung Jack and it came with software to download to his computer. He was able to type all his contacts into it and have it sync to his Jack, same for his calendar.
This is not what i expected it to be - wishin I had gone with the Jack

  • HT4910 Need clarification:  Backing-up each of calendar, contacts, tasks, reminders from iCloud to my PC

Re backing-up each of calendar, contacts, tasks, reminders from iCloud to my PC:  Can it be done all at once in one operation!? or do I need to back them up individually?

Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.

  • Calendar / Contacts Sync Issue on a home computer with a BES-enabled BB

I'm a long-time BB user (back to the days of the old 950 sans phone!).
I finally upgraded my old 7100 to the Storm.  My company operates a BES; I'm just a user.
When I first got the 7100, I declined to be on the BES and simply synched my calendar and contacts via a cable; I did the same thing with my calendar and contacts on my home desktop and laptop.  That way I always had all four devices with the same relative info.
When I finally moved to the BES, all of the work synching was done wirelessly.  That certainly added some features that I didn't have before.  However, it also created an apparent problem - the only way I could then synch my Blackberry with my two home computers was to turn the wireless synching off, update the home computers (one way from the BB to the computer), and then turn the synching back on.  Needless to say, this was quite inconvenient and any change that I may have made directly on my home contacts or calendars never made it to the BB during these syncs.  If I tried syncing the data both ways, the BB would warn me that any changes that I may have made to the BB calendar / contacts would be lost when I turned wireless syncing back on.  I eventually stopped trying.
So, with all of that, is there a way to actually sync a BES BB with my home computers without (1) turning off the wireless sync with the BES, and/or without (2) losing any data that may have been transferred to the BB from my home computer?
Perhaps I'm just not using the BB desktop software on my home computers correctly.  It's somewhat confusing because when I first installed it, I didn't know if I should select the option for syncing with a work account of a personal account (BES v. BIS essentially?) since the device is definitely BES but my home computer is not.
If that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll try to clarify the question.

I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that.  Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.
