Calendar & contacts won't sync

I have a centro and have my personal mail with hotmail.  I tried to also have my work email through outlook downloaded as well.  After messing around with the outlook sync I was able to sync to outlook, but only my calendar and my contacts, no email sync'd.  Which I didn't want to merge, I wanted to keep my palm desktop (personal) and outlook (business) seperate.  I then deleted the outlook email and now my calendar and contacts won't sync with either outlook or palm desktop.  All I want is to be able to sync with my palm desktop again, that's it.
Thanks

  • Exchange Calendar & Contacts won't sync w/ ios 4.1

Since I upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 4.1, the calendar and contacts for my Exchange account won't sync. Email works fine. I've tried un-syncing and re-syncing, deleting and re-adding the account.
When I open the calendar or contacts, the progress wheel spins for an eternity with no results. My battery went from 100% to turning off within an 8 hour period with limited use, which I attribute to the attempted syncing.

I went to the Genius bar where they updated the firmware and installed a module to increase the timeout delay for syncs.
I now have a very few calendar appts synced.
The big thing (take note Apple!!) is that the few Contacts that are synced on the phone are actually the Suggested Contacts, which is a new feature in Outlook 2010.

I had the same problem.  Here is what worked for me.  Open the mail app and delete your exchange account (Settings > Delete Account).  Then re-add your Exchange account.  After this my Exchange contacts showed up again.

My contacts won´t sync to the iphone. In itunes there is not even a check I can make to the contacts for syncing it says they should sync over icloud, but they won´t

Are you syncing your Mac Address Book contacts over the air with your iCloud account which is selected with your iCloud account settings on your Mac? You need to do that first followed by logging in with your iCloud account via webmail access using a browser to confirm your Mac Address Book contacts are available in your iCloud online address book.

I am getting very tired of Nokia now!
Actually I've had it with Nokia!

I now have a E7-00 with a poorly responsive touchscreen,

I'm still haven't been able to find out whether the touchscreen is broken or...
Namely because I can hardly use the phone, again google calender and google contacts won't sync.
Got it to work last time around, but things (espacialy with Nokia) change.
Can somebody, Please,  give me the page with the CORRECT instructrons? for the e7-00 and the N8?
I am very tired of clicking pages wich do not contain the anwsers.
Meanwhile, my friends and colleagues laugh at me, with their smasung's, HTC 's, LG 's, and iPhone's.
Which all sync (nearly) hassle-free with all they want.
    Help

    Hi Gucky66,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
Please reset and update the phone to fix any software issues you're experiencing on both your E7 and N8.
Connect your phone to Nokia Suite and create a back up via Tools > Back up.
Now disconnect the phone from Nokia Suite and enter *#7370# and default security code 12345 into your phone. Once the phone has rebooted, please reconnect with Nokia Suite and click on the green arrow icon where you will be able to update the phone to it's latest software version. If no update is listed, please reinstall the current software. This option is displayed in blue.
When the updated has completed, please restore the back up via Restore > Back up.
You should now have a fully working phone. If you're still experiencing difficulties with your Email account, please delete the account and reconfigure, you can do this via Menu > Mail > Select the email account > Long press > Delete mailbox.
If the above doesn't work, please contact your local Care line where they will be able to look at your previous repairs and look for a solution.
Please get back to me if you manage to resolve the issue, otherwise I can provide further support.

  • Mac calendar and contacts won't sync with iPhone 5 since upgrading to Mavericks.

    Please,please, help,
My mac calendar and contacts (and who know what else) won't sync with my iPhone 5 since updating to Mavericks. I have lost new medical appointments on my mac which never synced to my iPhone. I am completely frazzled as I am a very busy mum (who isn't!) and the call centre is closed! A am a bit of a technophobe but have discovered the "info" tab that appears when I connect my iphone to my mac to sync has disappeared with Mavericks. I hope someone out there can help me.

Yes, you can reinstall your system from the backup you made before installing Mavericks. See this link

  • Calendars and contacts won't sync: "Inconsistencies"

I've seen several other topics with similar, but not exactly the same problem as me. Can't figure it out.
I've had an iphone 3g since July, with a MacBook Pro on OS X 10.5.6. No previous problems with syncing at all. A month or so ago, I turned off automatic sync for the phone in itunes preferences, and because I havn't needed to sync anything since then, no syncs have been attempted. Recently I added some new Calendar events on the laptop (without the phone plugged in), and immediately after each event, the "inconsistencies in your sync information for ical were detected and repaired" notice popped up, and I pressed OK.
Next time I plugged in my iPhone, I turned auto-sync back on, then ran a sync, and the inconsistency notice popped up for contancts, ical, and bookmarks, none of which synced at all. Also, in the "info" tab of the iPhone page in iTunes, no calendars, contact groups, or email accounts are listed. It seems to me iTunes or the iPhone thinks there's nothing to sync to. This happens every single time I sync.
Note that I DO NOT USE MOBILEME OR .MAC, and never have. I've reset my sync history in iSync, which didn't seem to help.

I'm assuming you mean the "replace information on iphone" options. I tried this, but it didn't work. iTunes isn't even registering any contacts or calendars; in the info pane it doesn't list any of them. So it has nothing to replace the iPhone info with. I think I basically need a way for the iPhone or iTunes to "remember" what's on the computer.

  • Hotmail Full Calendar/Contacts and Email Sync Poss...

You can set up hotmail to sync calendar/contacts and email (all folders, just like imap) through the N900 but have to set it up as an "exchange" account.
In the email client add new account and select "exchange" and put in your username and password.  The next page will ask for the server which is m.hotmail.com - leave the domain empty.  Select SSL (which it does by default.)  Then set up your sync parameters.
This is nice for consumers who don't have a work exchange account that takes care of syncing for you.
If you run Outlook - you can use the Outlook connector to sync your contacts/calendar to Hotmail - which will then sync onto your N900.  This way you won't have to use Ovi or PC Suite to sync...
Just passing along... I searched and found some info on this for other Nokia devices - but nothing for the N900 so I thought I would mention it.

kudos for that, since i upgraded to pr1/2 i've been changing between both google and hotmail, but after pr1.3 i decided to stay with hotmail.
anyways here are the settings to get google account working :
Calendar AND contacts sync settings can be created by:
    1st  Open settings menu.
2nd  Open "Email for Exchange" submenu.
3rd  Filling in the fields as:
    a. Server: m.google.com
    b. Port: 443
    c. Secure connection: check yes
    d. Conflict resolution: your choice
    e. User name:  [email protected]
    f. Password: your password
    g. Domain: leave blank
    h. Synchronize e-mail:  leave unchecked.
    i. Synchronize calendar and tasks: check yes.
    k. Calendar:  N900 (to populate existing calendar) or create a new one
    j. Synchronize calendar back:  your choice
    k. Synchronize completed tasks:  your choice
    l. Synchronize contacts:  check yes
    m. First synchronization: your choice
A note of caution:  For this sync to work your calendar must be empty.  If you have already used the synchronization tool to transfer the calendar data from your old phone to your n900 it will not allow you to write the Google calendar data from the server into it. The n900 calendar will remain as a local, unsynchronized calendar and you must create another calendar for synchronization purposes.  However, I believe this is not the best way to go.  Instead, if you have already transferred your calendar data from your old phone open the n900's calendar, select all, and delete.  Then the Google server will synchronize its data with the N900 calendar.
Reality is wrong....dreams are for real... 2pac .
don't forget to hit that green kudos

  • Icloud recognizes my calendars but won't sync

I am trying to set up iCloud to share calendars and reminders.  iCloud recognizes the names of the 2 calendars, but won't populate with events.
I just upgraded to iOS7 on my iphone 4S.
I've tried most of the trial and error "solutions" already out there.
There MUST BE and easier way!!

    Hi grumpy03,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you do not see events from your iCloud calendar on your iPhone, be sure to try all of these troubleshooting steps:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3999
    Troubleshooting on iOS devices
First, confirm that you've turned on iCloud Calendar by tapping Settings > iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, then check that Calendars is turned on.
If you are having trouble with the Calendar app on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) and iCloud Calendar, try these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Make sure your iOS device is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com in Safari. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in your Calendar application. Learn how to troubleshoot your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Calendar requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
If recent changes don't appear, try to refresh your calendars:In iOS 7, open Calendar and tap the Calendars tab to load the Calendars list, then pull down on the list to refresh.
If you've recently made changes to your contacts' birthdays and are not seeing those changes reflected in your Birthdays Calendar, try to refresh your calendars. If you made the changes in the Contacts app on your Mac or at iCloud.com, it may take up to an hour for those changes to appear on your other devices.
If you add new events on your iOS device, but they do not update on iCloud.com or your other devices, confirm that you've added the event to an iCloud calendar:In iOS 7, open Calendar and tap the event to view the Event Details. Tap the calendar name to confirm that you've saved the event to an iCloud calendar.
You may want to verify your default calendar settings. If you want to create new events in an iCloud calendar, set that calendar to be your default calendar. You can modify Default Calendar settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Calendar.
If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Calendar app:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Calendar preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.
Tap the Home button to return to your Home screen.
Wait a minute before reopening the Calendar app.
Restart your iOS device: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, then drag the slider. After the device turns off, turn it back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Change the Sync settings for your calendars:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Under Calendars, tap Sync. If Sync is set to All Events, set it to a specific duration, such as Events 1 Month Back. If it's already set to a specific duration, set it to All Events.
Tap the Home button. Wait several minutes, then open Calendar and try to refresh your calendars again.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Turn off Calendar. Choose to delete data only if your data exists at icloud.com/calendar or on one or more of your computers. Otherwise, choose Keep Data.
Wait a few minutes before turning Calendar back on.
    Best,
    Jeremy

  • Contacts won't sync since upgrading to OS 10.5.5

I went about 6 months without using my Palm Z22 (got busy!).  In the meantime, I upgraded by Operating System to 10.5.5.  Don't know whether it's related, but now the personal contacts I entered into my Palm Desktop won't sync to my Z22.  When I sync, it's attempting to sync with a huge database (called Now Contact) that I use in my homebased business.  Before it can finish, it gives me an error and says Syncing wasn't completed.  I don't want it to sync with Now Contact.  I want it to do like before - just sync with the personal contacts in the Addresses section of my Palm Desktop.  Anyone know what I can try?  How do I turn that off?

  • Iphone contacts won't sync to mac

    Hi
Very new to mac but have searched for this; too many answers with too much variance so I have to ask myself, sorry.
I've had an iphone 4 for 2 years, always syncing contacts with outlook on my old PC. Everything worked fine until icloud; I then found that any new contacts weren't syncing to outlook, I'm assuming because the phone was only syncing to icloud?
No matter, decided not to worry as I wanted to buy a mac, having worked with them recently.
So my issue now is (very similar to before) that I can't sync my contacts from my iphone to my mac, again because it insists the phone is backing up to icloud. I tried this morning; it prompted me that the phone was 'on' icloud and therefore not syncing with mac etc; I checked the box to sync contacts, hit apply and merge in the hopes I could get my contacts from my phone onto the mac. Instead it's created another phone book on my iphone with just the three contacts that were on the mac?!
Now when I go to contacts on my iphone it has three groups: All contacts, all on my iphone and all icloud. The first and last have all my contacts in; the all on my iphone has zero. I know the transition to something new isn't always easy, but I'm now really confused.
The Mac is on Snow Leopard, and my understanding of browsing the forums is that only lion will work with icloud. I haven't bought any software yet, so I'm not concerned about compatibilty if I upgrade. I AM however concerned as to how icloud will work if I do upgrade?
Will it use the iMac or the iphone as the 'senior' device?
If it uses the mac will I lose all my contacts?
With cloud do I not need to backup my iphone?
What's the difference between backup, sync and icloud?
So many questions I know; really hope I'm not shot down in flames as my first time on here. Any advice about this appreciated.

iCloud is a second attempt at dealing with making data available among devices - MobileMe was the first and was limited to just a few things, contacts and calendar events. iCloud goes much further. It isn't easy to meld two or more databases. The first think to keep in mind is that iCloud holds the truth - that is the data that is pushed out everywhere else. If you log on to icloud.com you can see the addressbook and calendar that will be sent to all your devices. The devices' job is to send new data or edited data to the cloud.
With that in mind, I simply upgraded my computer from Snow Leopard to Lion - after turning my phone off. My thinking was that if disaster struck I could delete the computer calendar & addressbook database. Then I could log onto iCloud and make sure my calendar and addressbook was okay and then let the cloud fix the computer. And it true disaster struck I could delete everything in the cloud and turn the iPhone back on which would repopulate the cloud and then my computer.
What actually happened is that after I upgraded to Lion I wound up with an addressbook that had 'on my Mac' and 'on the cloud' which had the same stuff. I deleted the 'on my mac' stuff. My calendar, if I recall right, just had what I expected. I tested by making an event and fact contact on the phone - they appeared on my computer. Did the same on my computer - they appeared on my phone.
Why all the hub-bub over Lion? A couple things. First, there's always an outcry of Mac OS XYZ broke my computer! Not every upgrade goes smoothly. Do a search here for Kappy's upgrade advice, follow it, and your chances of a successful upgrade are pretty good. Second, we've had quite a few OS upgrades in the last 5 years that brought small changes and new services. Lion was different, it really shook things up and lots of people don't like it when their cheese is moved. Third, Lion isn't compatible with old software written before Apple switched to Intel processors and lots of people just don't read before they upgrade.
Should you upgrade? Since SL lost the ability to sync with iOS devices iCloud alone is worth the price of admission. The changes between OS versions always mean that developers stop supporting the older OS at some point and I suspect that Lion changes things enough that SL users are going to find less software being made for the OS pretty rapidly.

  • Contacts won't sync with my new MacBook (The operation couldn't be completed. (CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1.))

    Hello everyone.
I recently bought a used MacBook Pro (Mid 2012, running OS X Mavericks) as my first Mac, so maybe it is really easy but I cannot figure it out myself.
I am really satisfied with the product, the only thing that is bugging me is that the built-in Contacts App won't sync my existing iCloud contacts.
It's working fine on my iPhone and iPad but it does not seem to be working with the MacBook. At first I thought maybe it could use a reboot. That didn't work. Next I deleted the iCloud account from the Mac, rebooted again, entered my account data and opened contacts again. Still nothing even after waiting 10 minutes.
Then I found this nice option "Show Last Import". And behind the "iCloud" group I noticed a little exclamation mark. After I clicked on it I was presented the following error: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1.)"
I don't really know what to do with this error since google and other search engines did not deliver a resolution to this problem which worked...
Is my iCloud broken or something? Everything is working fine so far with my other devices (iPad, iphone, icloud-website, even my Windows PC at work can sync the contacts  :-/)
I hope you can provide me a solution because I am out of ideas myself

So for me I found a solution after hours of searching. Surprisingly it is in another thread here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19223886#19223886
Problem solved with a lot of help from Apple Support. After upgrading to ML, I still had all my contacts in iCloud and on the iPhone, but not on the iMac and the MacBook.
    1) We have set up a temporary second iCloud account for me.
    2) On my iPhone, I signed out of iCloud and did NOT delete the contacts.
    3) On the two Macs I signed out of iCloud and had everything deleted.
    4) I signed the iPhone up with the new iCloud account and synced all contacts into that one.
    5) With Safari I opened the online interface of my original iCloud  account and manually deleted all contacts.
    6) On my iPhone, I signed out of the temporary iCloud and did NOT delete the contacts.
    7) On my iPhone, I signed into my original iCloud account and waited for the contacts to sync.
    8) On the two Macs I signed into my original iCloud account and everything was okay again.
So have my contacts back, but we do not really know what was wrong.
As the original author said, I had no idea what exaclty was wrong but somehow it's working.
I'm not using any Google contacts so unfortunately I can't help you with that.
