Calendar day to start from Saturday in UAE without changing Calendar language.

I am non Arabic living in UAE and Saudi Arabia and I want to change my iPhone calendar day to start on Saturday as natives without changing language to Arabic. Is there any way to do it? or did apple has given this choice in IPhone 5?

At this time the calendar is set for Sunday to Saturday. I would recommend submitting a enhancement request to On Demand customer care.

  • Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home

I am having a problem with travel time in Calendar. It will autopopulate with where it thinks I should be. I don't work during the daytime, and when I schedule in an entry for work, it wants to have me leaving from work. Is there any way to change it manually to start from home instead?

    From Calendar's help:
To set your starting location, Calendar first looks for your location in any events that are up to three hours before this event. If Calendar doesn’t find a location, it uses your work address during work hours and your home address during other hours. (Your work hours are set in Calendar preferences using the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” menus.) If your card in Contacts doesn’t have your addresses, Calendar uses your computer’s current location.

  • Current day "shift starts from previous day" night 23:00 hours

    Hi Experts,
I have a challenging scenario in Positive Time Management which is current day 1st shift time starts from previous day 23:00 hours (eg: previous day 23:00 to 07:00 current day).
As per my knowledge in SAP Time Management, Shift start time is considered as current day, but for my scenario Shift End time has to consider as a current day.
I couldnu2019t brought this shift forward to as 3rd shift because Production Incentives amounts and public holidays are computing based on previous day 23:00 hours.
Points will be awarded for helpful solution.

While you create a recod in the IT 2011 as you give

    p20 for out time
ex: 7:00 am i.e next day but still it will count for the current day

  • New Depreciation to start from Mar (not Jan) after change of useful life

    Hi
Does anyoe has any solution or will there be changes to SAP B1's Fixed Asset?
Let me explain the full scenario as below:
    1) Customer has Fixed Assest which has useful life of 25 years, i.e. 300 months.
    2) The assets has been depreciated for a few months, e.g from July 2008 to Mar 2009. In FA Master Data, it shows the remaining useful life is 294.
    3) From Mar 2009 onwards, the management decides that the userful life is to be 30 instead of 25. The past depreciated value is to remain. The new depreciated value is to be effective from Mar 2009 onwards.
    Changes Done
    1) In Fixed Asset Master file, under the General tab, a change has been made to the Useful life from 300 to 360. The remaining life is auto-change to 354.
    2) Re-run the depreciation for Mar 2009.
    3) The new depreciated value is re-calculated from Jan 2009 onwards and the adjustment is posted in Mar 2009.
What is required is that Jan 2009 to Feb 2009 should remain the original depreciated value. The new depreciated value should be adjusted from Mar 2009 onwards.
Please advise is there any solution or proposals.
    Example
    Asset value = 518749.95
    Useful life = 300
    Remaining Useful life = 294
Monthly Planned Depreciated Value = 1729.17, Dec Planned Depreciated value = 1729.13
    After Changes Done
    Asset value = 250000
    Useful life = 360
    Remaining Useful life = 354
Monthly Planned Depreciated Value = 1436.09, Dec Planned Depreciated value = 1436.06
    Required
    Asset value = 250000
    Useful life = 360
    Remaining Useful life = 354
Jan and Feb Planned Depreciated Value = 1729.17
Mar 2009 onwards, Planned Depreciated Value = 1404.95
    Calculation = (518749.95 - 20750 - 3458.34)/352
where 20750 is the depreciated value for 2008 and 3458.34 is the depreciated value for Jan and Feb 2009.

Hmmm , after re-reading the OP's question I realise I have provided a comprehensive and well-researched answer to a different question. Must be getting over-excited, it being so close to Christmas. Anyway, I'm going to leave this answer up for the time being, until I can find a better home for it.
The day number is a function of your NLS_TERRITORY setting, a parameter derived from NLS_LANG . For instance when the locale is 'AMERICAN' the first day of the week is SUNDAY but when the locale 'ENGLISH' it's MONDAY. It is possible to mix'n'match language and territory. [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28298/ch3globenv.htm#i1007222]Find out more.
So, if you set the NLS_TERRITORY to somewhere in the Islamic world, say Kuwait, you will find that Saturday is day 1 of the week. You can do this at the session level:
    sql> alter session set nls_territory = 'KUWAIT';
    Session altered.
    SQL> select to_char(sysdate+1, 'DAY') as day_name
       2            , to_char(sysdate+1, 'D') as day_no
       3    from dual;
    DAY_NAME  D

  • Photoshop cs3 starts from photoshop elemets 7 without camera raw

I'm using photoshop elements as a picture album organizer and start photoshop cs3 from elements. When changing from elements v5 to v7 (because of having a trouble with the raw of a canon 50d), I got a strange problem:
    - When I use the elements editor, the camera raw is starting
    - When I use Bride CS3 to open the raw, camera raw is starting
    - When I use elements 7 to open the raw in photoshop cs3, the picture appears direct in photoshop, without using camera raw
Could someone help me to have camera raw starting photoshop out of elements 7?

    It's a known problem:

  • From Word to PDF without changing the Number of pages

When I convert a document of 320 pages from Word 2013 to PDF using Acrobat, the number of pages jump to 331, changing the footnotes, sections...How to fix it? Tx

To expand on Michael Kazlow's response, the problem isn't caused by Windows, but rather how Microsoft Office applications format their text. The issue isn't only with Word, but also with every other Office application as well. Furthermore, it isn't a matter of whether you create the PDF using the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance, but rather, when you compose the document while the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance is the default/current printer within Word!!!
These applications format text using font metrics normalized to the resolution of the current output device. Thus, if you are displaying a document in Word and the current printer selected (usually the default printer you have selected in Windows when you start up Word) has a device resolution of 600dpi, the document is formatted with each character's space measured in units of 1/600 of an inch. If you change the current printer or print to a printer that has a different resolution set, Word reformats the document using font metrics based on the new resolution. In the case of the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance, by default, the resolution is 1/1200 of an inch. Typically, more text will fit on a page with long text lines when higher resolution is used and less text will fit on a page with long lines when a lower resolution is used. If your default printer is a high resolution inkjet printer, you may see resolutions as high as 2400 dpi, for example.
Microsoft Office applications are also known to reformat pages based upon other metrics such as printable area.
These issues don't just affect PDF creation, but also printing to different devices yielding different line endings and pagination.
To further complicate matters, when you either Save as PDF using Office's own PDF creation facility or even Save as Adobe PDF using Acrobat's PDFMaker facility (part of Acrobat), Office uses yet a different mechanism to reformat the page, also yielding inconsistencies in line ending and pagination from what you see on the screen and/or in print directly from Word to a particular device. (We don't know exactly what mechanism Microsoft is using in these cases to cause the discrepancies.)
Users of Office and Adobe have complained to Microsoft about this general behavior for over 20 years and apparently it is not of any priority to Microsoft to resolve this.

  • How to print from an Ipad2 3G without changing networks?

I bought my elderly parents an Ipad 3G for Christmas because they cannot get anything but dial-up service at their home for a computer.  We also bought an HP printer with AirPrint and e-Print.  However, in order to print to the printer, you must turn off the 3G network and enter a wireless network that the printer is on.  Well, going into setting and changing every time they want/need to print is simply to technical for them.  is there any way to print directly to the printer, wirelessly, using either the AirPrint or this e-Print that HP has?  Has anyone written a 3rd party app that will do this?  Why doesn't Apple fix this issue since people are paying very expensive prices plus monthly fees to have the 3G versions so they can gain internet access.  IMHO, without the ability to print to a printer while on the 3G and connected to the internet, the thing is near useless.  Apple has really dropped the ball, here, and I think that this is very unlike Apple not to have thought of this.
Does anyone know of an app that when you need to print and push print, will automatically switch to the printer network, send the file to the printer, and then swithch back.  I think this is a poor way to do this, but at least it is a way to do it that won't require my parents to get all upset trying to go into settings and fool with turning networks on and off.
    Thanks,
    JJ the mustang man

    JJ-
I do not have the 3G model.  Is this a real problem, or just one you are worried will happen?  I was under the impression that the 3G iPad would change its Internet connection between WiFi and 3G as needed, but would continue to print via WiFi regardless of how it accessed the Internet.

  • How to make PDF file size smaller from an Illustrator file without changing the quality or size (length and width) of the file?

Is there a way to make a 30x42 size (40 GB) Illustrator file as a PDF but make the file smaller in size (able to email to clients) with out compromising the quality of the file or the size of the file?

If you are working in RGB you can embed a colour profile. Embed ICC Profiles is one of the Acrobat save options. It will increase files size dramatically.
When you save your pdf you can choose the compression method for placed images. Default is ZIP which is really no compression at all for pixel images. Instead you should opt for JPG compression (of varying degree according to how sensitive the images are to compression).
You should also examine the other Acrobat save options. To minimize file size you should not have any of the options checked (Preserve Illustrator Editing Capability, Embed page Thumbnails etc. etc.).
40 gigabytes for a file like the one you show is ridiculous. Did you maybe embed the placed images? If so, don’t. Keep them linked unless you really need to embed them.

  • How do I transfer edited NEF files from laptop to desktop without changing format or losing edits?

    Hello,
While travelling last week I put approximately 3000 raw images on my MacBook Pro (Lightroom 4) and have edited many of them.  I am now home and would like to copy everything onto my desktop computer Mac OS X Yosemite (Version 10.10.2) with Lightroom 4.  I would like it to be excactly as it is on my laptop.  I don't want to have to edit again, catagorize by star, etc.  I would like it to be in Raw NEF format with my edits just like it is on my laptop - I just want it all on my desktop.  Can someone tell me how to do this?  I have a firewire and an external hard drive if needed.  Thank you!

Use your backup copy of your computer.
Type "move itunes library" into the Google search bar.  You will find instructions there.

  • Time Capsule Hard Disk Disappears from Windows 7 PC without changing anything on the PC, then reappears for no reason. Any Ideas what would cause this?

Now spent hours trying to fix this problem. I am using a disk password, When I go into the explorer, around 1/4 of the time the timecapsule appears in the browse, and the other 3/4's it can not be found. I can leave the pc, then come back after a while and the disk is back.

i'd also like to add that the time capsule is still recognised on the mac partition of my macbook pro, and also both mac and windows xp (as a network drive) on my iMac!

This solved my questionRe: Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home Oct 23, 2013 8:43 PM (in response to theglenlivet12)

  • Set Start Position to Calculate Travel Time in Calendars

    Hi All,
I am quite impressed with the new traveling time feature in Calendars, however I cannot seem to get the best out of it.
    Is there a way to reset the start position for the calculations, I am thinking about the following senario;
Three appointments in the same day Appointment one calculates OK but appointment two calculates the start from the office and not the location of appointment one. Same thing happens with appointment three.
What I want to do is set the first appointment, calculate travelling time, set the second and calculate the traveling time from appointment one and then the same with appointment three.
The only way I have found to do this is to jump back and forward between calendar and maps and manually calculate like I used to do before this update.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
