Calendar default/associated with email

I deleted the email address on my phone (8130) and now outlook doesn't recognize the old entries as belonging to my calendar. It's like there is a default calendar on my device that is not associated with any email address now. When I put my email address back in, it only associated itself with entries that I put into the device new. Is there a way to get them integrated/associated with my one email address again? I don't use outlook for email, but if I need to set it up to fix this issue I will.

Since my post I was successful in fixing the problem. I ended up calling my wireless service provider (AT&T in my case) and they hooked me up with RIM tech support. Basically, the problem was fixed using the Backup & Restore feature in the Desktop Manager program. I recommend you first try to get to RIM tech support the way I did, as your problem might be unique.
However, here is how my issue was fixed. First make sure your calendar in Outlook is complete and fully up to date, which in my case it was. Hit the Advanced button in the B&R feature. You will see a side-by-side list of Databases; one for Desktop File and one for Device. The desktop file refers to any backup file you may have previously created. I recommend you first create a backup file. Then you can scroll down the list of Device db's and clear the "Calendar" and "Calendar All" databases. Now reset your Sync Configuration for a one way sync from Outlook to Device and synchronize. Now everything should be fixed. Reset your sync config for 2-way sync for the future.
Hope that helped. This problem frustrated me mightily as well, but I was pleased to actually get support from RIM. I believe you must do it through your wireless provider though, as they may have a contract with RIM. Otherwise it would cost $$$.

We have to do 2 things:
The first one is that we are trying to retrieve the correct navigation ID to call different OnAfterLogin PEI's depending on the Exp Def. We create one PEI class for each Exp Def and we name it with the navigation ID. For example com.mypackage.nav100.pei.MyLoginPEI100.

And this has a similar problem. We are always redirected to the default page of the Exp Def associated with the user folder and not to the Exp Def that the user see depending on our rules.

Names are associated with email address in Mail but not in Contacts. How do I fix this?

When writing a new email if I begin typing someone's name, it automatically starts showing matching first and last names and email addresses. So if I start typing Bob it'll start showing matching contacts and have selected by default Bob Doe <[email protected]>.
This is great in Mail but in Contacts it doesn't work.
If I start searching for Bob, there are no results. Instead the only result there is the email address. So I have to know my contacts email addresses instead of their names when I'm dealing with Contacts.
Is there a way to sync Mail and Contacts or something so Contacts gets the associated names of the email addresses?

Change default association with DOCUMENT class

Hi
Is it possible to change the default association of files in IFS with the DOCUMENT class to a subclass of DOCUMENT?
I would like to make a subclass of DOCUMENT with additional attributes and, by default, associate ALL uploaded files with that subclass.
If this is a setting in IFS manager, would someone be able to tell me what to change?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you have to associate the basic content type with the document library manually. You can refer to the following powershell:

Cant find out serial number associated with email address

Hello
I just lost my ipod touch 4g ..
I want to report it lost or stolen device in apple support profile , but when i enter the serial number it says already registered by another email address.. I tried every email address i remember but cant still find the right one !
Is there any way to find email address associated with serial number ?

Edits to To Dos associated with email messages don't persist

Here are the steps to replicate this problem within Apple Mail (the latest version - 4.3 on OS X 10.6.4):
1) Select some text in an email message, and click the to do button in the toolbar to turn it into a to do. This to do now appears in the list of to dos visible when you click 'To Do' under 'Reminders' in Mail's left hand sidebar.
2) Return to the email message, and edit the to do visible at its top. The to do text has changed when you view it via the email message, but if you again look at the list of to dos via Mail's left hand sidebar it has not - only the original to do text is visible. And if you then return to the email message, the do has returned to its original text.
Any help/pointers for investigation much appreciated

Sorry no help just noting that I have excately the same problem. However I am still on Leopard with Mail V3.6. I suspect one of the recent "security" updates screwed the way how Todo notes are shared with Mail and Ical...
I can also edit the Todo message with Ical and the changed text appears instantly in Mail. Just editing within a mail-message with the little yellow box above is not working. However I can change priority and due-dates but not the text....

Incorrect name associated with email account

I have an email account setup on me.com and can't seem to change the username exmaple My Name <[email protected]>. After searching the support site I found a few solutions such as changing it on the Apple ID site, and on the Mac preferences. I even changed it by editing the email XML file and changing the User name.
The user name is correct on the Apple ID site, account preferences on the Mac, iCloud settings, yet when I send an email the name attached to the account it wrong??
Anyone have any recommendations?

To change the "From" name on your Mac Mail, go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the top right and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done. Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it. Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

How can I download previous iTunes purchases from older apple id after my Mac is associated with my current one?

Almost all of my media is associated with gmail Apple ID. I want to retrieve my previous purchases, but don't need this Apple id aside from that.

I actually wiped my 15" Mac pro, installed MtnLion and set it up with the me@gmail Apple ID (both icloud and itunes) just to get my previous itunes purchases. I downloaded about half, and then got sidetracked. Now when I go into itunes on it and try to download the rest, it says this computer is associated wth another apple id and can't download for 60 days!!!

Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

I have now set the default email account for the calendar to a current email address but I still can't figure out how to merge my iphone calendars, copy the iphone calendar to iCal, or save my iphone calendar to my mac. Also, I read in ITunes to check "sync to ICal" but my ITunes under my iphone and info just says "Sync Calendars" which doesn't transfer it to iCal when I sync my phone.

How can I use different calendars associated with different emails to see appointments separately?

I have 3 emails accounts on my Blackberry curve. I want to use different calendars for different type of reminders/appointments. How can I do that? In calendar I pressed menu key and then clicked on select calendar, choose one email address (email 1) then entered an alarm but now if I go to a different calendar associated with different email ( email 2), it also shows me that alarm which I entered in email 1 calendar. Don't have LV handy to open the old code, but I did read through the thread you referenced. It sounds like the example configured 2 counters to create the variable-freq finite pulse train and configured a 3rd counter to count the # steps generated as verification. That 3rd counter would be a problem for you as there is no internal timing signal connection between your 2 USB devices. You would need to run a physical wire connection and change some of the config code to match. Alternately, you could just delete all the code associated with the 3rd counter for now because it isn't strictly necessary.
Further advice/questions: Are you planning on a pure sine wave of frequency such that you oscillate with both positive and negative velocity (example: varying from -1000 to +1000 Hz clockwise)? Or is there a nominal average frequency with a small sine wave superimposed (example: nominal of 1000 Hz clockwise, variation of +/- 50 Hz)?
I *think* you may be dealing with more of a continuous pulsetrain situation, which is actually much simpler. You would only need 1 counter/timer, though you would still perform the freq changes in a timed loop which uses the pulsetrain as its timing source. You'd just need to keep track of your total elapsed time so you could figure out the right sinusoidal freq value at the moment you're ready to update it.
Another subtlety to watch out for if you're oscillating about 0 velocity -- don't try to create a frequency that is lower than the rate at which you need to update. Also, with steppers you may have mechanical stability issues at low freqs like 10's to low 100's of Hz. These kinds of things may need to be managed as special cases which force you to deviate from a "pure" sine wave.

Change Calendar default custom alert preference to email with sound?

Most annoying aspect of the new Apple Calendar is that the preference is pre-set for 2 email alerts at the same time before each event. It's time-consuming to re-set a custom alert time, eliminate the 2nd alert and set my preferred custom alert method every time I add an event.
I want to re-set my default preference for "email with sound" and have one alert at the "time of the event" unless I choose to add additional alerts.
Is this possible?
Note: I tried changing my Alert preference to "at time of the event" in Calendar Preferences, restarted and the default still shows up as alerting me twice, both 30 minutes before even though it does show as "at tme of the event" in Preferences.

When sending a calendar invite to any email address (regardless of provider) that is associated with an Apple ID will not get the invite. Any email address not associated with Apple ID will. Why? Using iOS 6.0.1, iPad, iPhone and PC.

I have sent an invite to an email associated to an Apple ID and that email never received the invite. I then changed the email associated with the receiving Apple ID to something new and removed the original email address (the original email address is no longer associated with any apple ID even as the alternate). I then cancelled the first appointment, created a new appointment and again invited the original email address. That original email address then received the canceled appointment notification and the new appointment invite. This problem is not just with my Apple ID (sending or receiving) but several other people that have tested sending iCloud invites to other Apple ID users. Any thoughts?

Cannot sync with email client calendar, only iCloud

I have my iPhone and my email (shawmail) calendar synced up no problem through an account that is under microsoft exchange. I have that same email address tied to an iCloud account that allows any calendar events added on my phone to be reflected in my iCal application on my computer (apart from those saved under the calendar associated with the exchange account, web email client).
The problem is the lack of communication between my Web email calendar and my iCal application on my computer. I can accept event requests on my phone that will show up on the web email calendar but they will not show up on my iCal on my iMac.
I have gone into iCal, enabled calendar syncing on the email under the exchange format and once that's done I have a second account that shows up in the accounts pane of iCal. It however will not connect to the "exchange" account.
I believe the problem lies in the server settings tab of the account, I've entered in the correct information into the Account Information tab but I'm unsure what is required in the internal server, server path, port, use SSL, external server, server path, port, use SSL.
I've contacted my email provider and they have no one on their technical team that can provide anything helpful to those required fields. Only that their server is: wm.shaw.ca which I already knew from the information in my phone to setup email.

It do happened sometime, don't know the reason. When I upgrade or change my phone to a new one, I always do one way synch(not both ways, & outlook dominant) , from outlook to phone & it never fails. Since it's a new phone not much data inside, just reset your phone to factory default try this method.

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.
