Calendar doesn't sync: Zire 31 & Windows XP Pro

Friends, this is similar to another posting but I couldn't understand the replies.  I got a new PC at work, installed my Palm software and successfully synced, except Calendar data did not transfer to/from Outlook.  There were some other oddities too, noted below.
Here is the sync log I got last week:
OK Quick Install
Outlook Notes
- Recovery Sync
The Outlook conduits have been upgraded from a previous version and the first synchronization was successful.
OK Outlook Notes
Outlook Calendar
OLERR:0D-000F
OLERR:0D-0004
OLERR:0D-0001
- Recovery Sync
Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
And here is one I got this morning:
OK Quick Install
OK Note Pad
OK Tasks
OK Memos
OK Photos
OK Calendar
OK Contacts
-- Backing up Saved Preferences to C:\Program Files\palmOne\HublerE\Backup\Saved_Preferences.PRC
OK Backup
HotSync operation completed on 04/16/07 10:41:10
Still, no data transferred.
Other oddities: there was an error message at some point about several appointments from 1970 and 1971 (which of course don't exist); and the Contacts categories that I had set up on my handheld were wiped out and replaced with the factory defaults.  Any contact that was in a category that I'd created myself is now "unfiled."
Thank you.

to have palm desktop work, you must install it on the account that you are going to sync it with, and that account must have administrator privileges, fast user switching is located in control panel, select classic view, and double click on user accounts click on "change the way users log in and out" then un-check"use fast user switching!

  • IPad Calendar doesn't sync back to iCloud nor Mac

    Hello all,
I have a strange issue that, since a few days, the iPad-based, iCloud-linked calendar doesn't sync back to iCloud. Hence, for that reason, the calendar on the Mac isn't in sync, and this is, as you can guess, pretty annoying. iPad runs iPhone OS 6.1, and the Mac runs Snow Leopard. I manually configured the calendar portion of iCloud as indicated, and sync between iCal (Mac) and iCloud doesn't suffer any delay.
Additional information: when initially reinstalled, the iPad has two sets of calendars: one locally synced with the Mac, the other being iCloud, and there's overlap between the two, thanks to this pesky sync problem. I really appreciate the convenience of iCloud, but can't go without the safety of local sync. I may go days without manually syncing the iPad with iTunes but still, iCal is my lifeline, and any defect in keeping updated or worse, losing events will result in serious profesional consequences. It already happened in the days before iCloud.
iCloud-related information: my Apple ID is an email that has been dead for years. Since I used it heavily before the mailing privider ceased activities, I couldn't practically restart from scratch, so I am currently using this "fossil" login along with an updated Yahoo contact adress, and recently added an @me.com adress from iCloud. The latter is the adress is the one used to connect to iCloud's calendar from iCal, and works nicely.
However, the iPad, despite being configured with iCloud natively, doesn't update. I restarted it, but since the most up-to-date calendar is on the iPad and un-synced, so far I didn't try deleting and re-adding iCloud to the iPad as it would delete events added since.
What could cause the iPad to lose sync with iCloud, and how to solve that and prevent it from happening again?

David, nice to hear from you again, hope you are well.
This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Address Book.
I believe you have duplicates because you have two sets of contacts. "iCloud" and "On My Mac". Once you have created all your contacts in the iCloud account, you should delete them from On My Mac.
You can move contacts simply by dragging and dropping from one account to the other, you don't need to export them all to the desktop (although doind so will serve as a good back up if all goes wrong). You should note that this copies them though rather than simply move them, so you'll need to delete the old set when you are done.
As for preserving groups from the On My Mac Account, you can't but you can simplify recreating them by copying contacts (drag and drop) from an on my mac group to an empty group in iCloud.
Not sure about the contacts that you are struggling to move.
Many aspects of iCloud are difficult to understand, have a mull through what I've said so far and come back if everything still doesn't fall into place.

Calendar sync with exchange 2003 but after upgrade to exchange 2010 my Calendar doesn't sync anymore.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Can you expand on that please? As in, what exactly, tells you it doesn't sync anymore? Did you re-configure the Desktop Software? If so, what did that present? If not, well, you need to since you've changed your Desktop Organizer app...

  • IPhone calendar does not sync to my Mac Pro

Events entered on my iPhone 5 calendar do not sync to  iCal on my Mac Pro.  Events entered on iCal on the desktop are synced properly onto my iPhone.  I have Sync Calendars, All Calendars  checked in the info tab in iTunes.  I have tried restarting, repairing permissions, searching for unseen preferences ... but I can't find anything.
I'm on iOS 7 and Mountain Lion.  This all worked fine last week when I was still running 10.6.8 and iOS

  • ICloud Drive doesn't sync on my MacBook Pro.

    Hello there.
I've noticed many issues with iCloud Drive since they activated it on Yosemite. I only can manipulate it via Safari (add or delete my files, move it into folders etc), but it doesn't sync in Finder on Yosemite. When I've tried to refresh Drive in preferences or log out and re-login in on the entire iCloud, it didn't helped at all. I feel really sad when I cannot use something that would help me a lot. There are only a few files downloaded - Pages, Scanbot and Preview. There are many others still waiting for download - files, videos, zip files - any types of file. Is there any possibility to force the sync manually?
Thank you all for your help.

    sorry.
It's a WD harddrive. I used to you it for my mac desktop. I have then had a pc laptop for a couple of years. I have had to use macdrive to allow this to work. I thought that when I would plug it into my macbook it should work fine.
It's now showing it is an exfat format. I have read reviews that this should work well on mac and windows?
To find the external harddrive on the mac I need to go to disk utilities and I can see it. It does not allow me to access what is on it though.
i'm trying to think of what I can do so I can use it on the mac book. If I copy it onto a different hardrive, then reformat it. How would I then get it back onto my mac?
Sorry. Hope that helps a little more? Thanks for your time.

  • My iPhone calendar does not sync with my iMac pro.  Why not?  How do I fix it?

Why not?  How do I fix it?

Could be a bunch of reasons. Do you have icloud setup on both devices? Can you give us more details of your setup? Make sure you have the calendar set to sync in the icloud system settings. Also make sure you are set to sync said calendar. I was checking my settings and realized that you may or may not be using icloud for calendaring. On your phone in settings/mail, contacts, calendars/ you have the ability to select what and which calendars you want to sync. Make sure it is configured appropriately.

I use latest nokia suite 3.3.86 and no update for phone or suite is available. All other information is well synchronized but when calendar is trying to synch then I get two error codes. Restart and repair of synch data has been done of course......

I reinstalled the Nokia suite and repaired synchronization. Now I don't know if my remaining calendar is in synchronization or if there are other dates missing....
Can Nokia please help me to get it working again? What do the codes mean?
    Thanks a lot!

  • My calendar is not syncing to my macbook pro

I added some appointments on my iphone and when I connected it to my laptop to sync, none of the new items showed up on my calendar.  BIG problem!  this is the primary reason I switched to iphone from blackberry!  so my calendars would be the same and up to date!  HELP PLEASE?

most likely - you are not syncing the correct calender with itunes.. (i.e. you added calender events to one email account [yahoo for example] and chose another email account [google for example] to sync with itunes).  The first check is to make sure what calender is being synced.
however - if i can make a recommendation....
if you have a macbook pro and an iphone...
I suggest using icloud on both devices.  turn on icloud by signing into both on each device....
    mac...
system preferences->icloud->check the box for calenders
    iphone
settings-> icloud-> click "on" for calenders
You will not have to sync your phone with your macbook pro for these changes to take effect.  Calenders are viewable on your mac's ical application, your iphone's calender application, and if you do not have either with you - you can view your calender at www.icloud.com
If for some reason you prefer another calender application, almost every email client has a calender associated with it.  So if you have a yahoo email address, and you like using yahoo calender - by turning on calenders in settings -> mail, contacts, calenders-> yahoo email... then you will be able to sync your yahoo email calender with iphone.  google's sync of calenders is a bit more tricky, i recommend googling some step-by-step instructions, but the main page to accomplish this is www.google.com/mobile/sync
I recommend icloud since you have apple stuff already, but it's really up to you.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar doesn't sync!

Hi, can't sync Outlook 2007 calendar with my 120gb. Contacts-sync is OK but no calendar!!?? Tried to disable Add-Ins, but still the same. Any help??? Thx

This problem probably exists because you're using work Outlook connected to an Exchange server. In that case contacts sync but for whatever reason your calendar won't.
Here's the Apple Support fine-print on that....
This sure seems like something Apple should make a lot clearer on their mobile me marketing materials....
    Symptoms
In the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows' Sync tab, you may not be able to select calendars to sync with MobileMe (the Calendars selection appears dimmed, or "grayed out").
    Products Affected
    MobileMe
    Resolution
    This can occur if:
    * Microsoft Outlook is not installed: Calendar syncing is only supported for Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. If you do not have either of these installed in Windows, Calendar syncing with MobileMe is not available.
    * *Outlook is installed but connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server, and MobileMe Control Panel 1.2 or later is installed. If Outlook is connected to Exchange, Calendar syncing with MobileMe is not available. For more information about MobileMe and Exchange syncing, see this article.*
If Outlook is installed and is not connected to an Exchange Server, but Calendars is still dimmed:
    1. Close the MobileMe Control Panel
    2. Open Outlook
    3. Quit Outlook
    4. Open the MobileMe Control Panel and try again
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, restart your PC, and Calendars should then be selectable from the MobileMe Control Panel.

  • Contacts and calendars won't sync with Windows 7 PC

Just had to buy a new pc (only because my MacBook got stolen) and I set up the iCloud on the machine but my calendars and contacts will not sync with Outlook 2010.  Bookmarks, pictures will, but contacts and calendars say they cannot start the operation because of an unexpected error.  Any help out there?

The contacts and calendar do sync into another user account but _only some of the records_.
ZoneAlarm. And there is no difference whether it is running or not.
    One odd thing:
In order to try to find which record(s) might be causing the problem I sorted my calendar on the "Date Created" field hoping to be able to go back in history and see exactly when things went wrong. Much to my surprise I found that the 13 most recent records did not sync to my iPhone. Then the next 2 did. Then the next 3 did not. Then 1 did. etc.

  • Outlook calendar won't sync in Windows 7, 64 bit

after I spent about 45 min. on the phone with an Apple service representative getting I cloud to install properly on my windows 7,64 bit system, I am back to the original problem for which I uninstalled I cloud and attempted to reinstall it, namely that no matter what Apple ID I use, in order to get Outlook to synchronize with I cloud for calendar, contacts, and tasks, the I cloud program will not accept my password.. This problem has been reported many times by many users and yet Apple does not have a fix for it that I can find. Is there anything new on the subject or do I have to give up entirely on using calendar with I cloud?I have tried all the suggestions I can find on this forum without success.

Bob, it does work for me.
In principle, there is absolutely no reason why 32-bit software wouldn't run in a 64-bit OS. A lot of software written for 32-bit Windows XP does. Current editions of Photoshop are installed twice, in a 64-bit version allowing more memory to be used by the application, and a 32-bit version providing compatibility with 32-bit plugins.
The one exception to this rule of thumb is anything remotely hardware-related, and software requiring low-level access to the system. Device drivers will have to be 64-bit.
There may be other issues, such as tighter access restrictions for program folders and the Windows registry, which were first introduced in Windows Vista. Most well-written software will handle this correctly, though. Indesign seems to. I have not done extensive testing yet, but on first glance, things are working fine. Getting Indesign to run - which this thread seemed to be about, considering the title - certainly was no problem at all.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • New iTunes Doesn't Start In Windows XP Pro

I downloaded new iTunes and now it doesn't open at all. I have unistalled and installed it back many times, including with the help of Apple Support through the phone and I still cannot make it work. The previous version was working perfectly fine.
Is there a way to solve this?
    Thanks.

Thanks to Jim Zack, the problem is solved.

  • Hotsync will not sync on Windows XP pro on domain

First off let me put a little information about the setup of this computer. It is on a domain and the C:/ drive is locked down so that the person logging in to the machine cannot add/remove things. I came to the machine to get a palm powered symbol SPT1800 device installed so that the user can do inventory on it with a program from follet called in-hand. All that this program does is scan barcodes and then you hotsync it with the PC and it will create a text file in the designated location.
Here is where the problem lies:
I have made the destination folder, and the palmone folder writeable for everyone that uses the computer, so it should not have any issues throwing the text file in the right place when I hotsync it. When I am logged in as the domain administrator on that machine, when I hotsync it does what it's supposed to do, the text file for the scanned barcodes is created, and anything else that was on the handheld is moved over (i.e. calander, notes, contacts, etc). When I login as the user on the machine and hit the hotsync button it states that it's hotsyncing, and it goes through it's process, and then says hotsync is complete but nothing ever comes through; such as the textfile it should create nor the contacts, calandar, or notes.
So I know that it is working but I need to figure out what needs to change so that the user can do this. Perhaps there is a folder or some files that need write access? maybe something in the registry needs write access? I am at a loss and have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out.
We are using Palm Desktop version 4.1.4 and the Hotsync is version 4.0.4
I hope someone can shed some light on this because the user needs this to work for inventory purposes.

Try this, Locate the palm folder. (C:/Program files/Palm or Palmone/*hotsync username*
Copy the contents of your hotsync username then delete it from the original location. (Repeat for each user you have) Then try to open the Palm desktop. It should prompt you to create a new username.

  • After iOS6 update, iPhone 4 doesn't sync calendar with iTunes

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4. After update to iOS6 the sync of my calendar has a strange behavior! It doesn't sync anymore. When I enter a calendar entry on iPhone, it's not synchronized with the macbook Calendar.
I changed calendar dates on my macbook - it won't appear on my iPhone4.
I badly missed some dates, till I found that the Calendar doesn't sync.
I also set in iTunes the marked, that on next sync the calendar should be replaced - but even then the new entries doesn't appear. Completely strange is, that if I delete the calendar on my iPhone and resync by iTunes, I get the calendar back, but the new or changes entries don't appear.
What can I do, instead of waiting to get my new iPhone5?

Now I have my new iPhone5...
And what should I tell you?dar. Neither from iPhone
There is still no sync of the calender from iPhone to MacBookPro and no sync of calendar entries from the MacBookPro to iPhone.
I am helpless. I tried to replace the calendar - it syncs, but the edited entries do not appear - they were sync with the old entries. Where the **** do they come from?
Normal Sync, nothing happens...what's a smartphone
Does nobody have a guess or anything I can try? Really, this *****... what's a smartphone without a syncronized and working calendar??

  • Calendar does not sync via ActiveSync. Mail and Contacts work fine.

I recently started using ActiveSync to connect to my corporate Exchange server. Mail and contacts synchronize properly, but calendar items are not downloaded from the server. The iPhone can write to the calendar by adding a new appointment of accepting a new meeting request. I can also see the full list of calendars in my Exchange mailbox when using the iPhone. Simply put, the calendar items are the only part that's missing.
My IT team has confirmed that calendar items will sync to Windows Mobile devices using ActiveSync.
Here are the steps I've taken to solve the problem:
    1. I enabled and disabled calendar using the On/Off slider.
    2. I removed and reconfigured the Exchange account on the iPhone
    3. I confirmed that all calendar items in Exchange had the Message Class set to "IPM.Appointment"
    4. I restored the iPhone to factory settings and used a new test Exchange account to confirm that corrupted calendar items were not an issue.
    5. Confirmed that the capitalization of my e-mail address in the Exchange Account Info on the iPhone matches the primary SMTP entry in the Exchange GAL.

Guys, I did a bit of research with my other iPhone/Exchange - buddies and this is what we found out:
    1. Friend sends me an calendar event from his PC / Exchange Account
    2. Calendar event displays as tentative on both my iPhone and on my PC / Exchange Account
    3. I accept the calendar event on my PC / Exchange Account
    4. Calendar event turns to "busy" on my PC / Exchange Account
    5. Calendar event disappears from my iPhone
    6. I double-click the event on my PC / Exchange Account and click "Accept" again
    7. Calendar event reappears on my iPhone
Funny enough, this does not happen with all events - it seems to depend on the Exchange server and/or Outlook version in use. For those affected: Is your Exchange Server 2003 or 2007, and what version is the Exchange Server of the person who sent you the event in the first place?
