Calendar entries marked private

I am synchronising a Nokia N80 using PC Suite 6.81.13.0 to Outlook 2003.
All calendar entries that were entered first via the phone show as Private once they are synchronised to the PC.
Is there any way to prevent this?
Thanks

When you create the calendar entry on the phone, change the "Synchronization" setting from "Private" to "Public".

  • Switch all calendar entries from "private" calender to "normal/standard" ca

    Hi guys,
is it possible to switch all calendar entries from "private" calender to "normal/standard" calendar in one step without moving entry and entry for itself to the other calendar?
    Maybe in MobileMe?
    Thx!

    OK,
I found out what was wrong myself.
In the end it turned out that it had nothing to do with the iOS5 upgrade itself.
In case somebody else stumbles accross this very same problem, here's what was going on:
    - Within the latest lotus notes client (on PC) the user has the possibility to display (read-only) external calendar contents (e.g. google's calendar).
    - When setting this up you need to supply your external calendar's login/password information and next to that
    - also have the possibility to select "View this calendar when offline or on a mobile device"
It was this setting (which I probably accidentally enabled) causing the "issue". Deselecting this option made my duplicate entries disappear on my phone.

  • Why are some calendar entries marked bold?

Some entries in my Work calendar (OS X version) are bold. Actually they are in white text on a purple background. Others are in purple text on a light purple background.
The bold items turn up if I create a list of forthcoming calendar items, the non-bold ones do not.
The bold items seem to be invites that I've accepted while the non-bold items are reminders I've entered into the calendar.
Is there a way to make these entries bold so they show up in the coming up list?

    Bill,
All-day events are depicted with a bold color outline which matches the owning calendar color. If you click on the event the text color will change to white.

  • Private/public calendar entries

I just changed my phone from Nokia E71 to iPhone. I have been used to use my Outlook calendar through the phone. The synchronization works well also between iPhone and my PC, but there is one problem which I am surprised of.
My calendar is both my private and work calendar. In Outlook and in my former phone Nokia E71 it is possible to choose, if my calendar entry is private or public. In iPhone this is not possible. Does no-one else have this problem? If yes, how on earth this can be possible.
My public calendar entries are shown to my colleagues but from private calendar entries they only see that I am occupied. Now when I make a calendar entry from my iPhone, it is always public. That is weird.

I believe this is not currently possible.
It might be a feature that Apple decide to incorporate in OS4.0 but that will only be know when it releases in the Summer.
Others have enquired on this and other forums so it would be worth sending feedback to Apple:

  • Can't delete calendar entry

I have some recurring entries in my calendar that won't delete.  When I try to delete them, they just remain in my calendar on my 8830, although when I sync with Outlook they won't go there.  When I try to open the entry to edit them, I get an error message that says "Appointment deleted externally.  changes will be lost and the viewer closed".
So I can't edit them either.
Can someone please help me? I've tried doing a reboot, but that hasn't worked, and I have seen nothing like this on the support boards.
    Thanks!

    Bump.
I am experiencing the same thing on my 8830 and it is frustrating. I am synching with Outlook via my company's enterprise server and I have marked all of these calendar entries as private so they are not appearing in Outlook. They can't be deleted. I have not yet tried to create/delete a public calendar entry.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • I would like to mark data on my iPhone / iPad as private or hide it. Is it possible? I could do it on my Palmpilot. Any data - addresses, calendar entries, files, anything could be hidden on the palm pilot. It'd be great to see this facility on apl pdts

I would like to mark data on my iPhone / iPad as private or hide it and only unlock it with a different password. Is it possible? I could do it on my Palmpilot. Any data - addresses, calendar entries, files, anything could be hidden on the palm pilot. It'd be great to see this facility on apple products.

I know what you meant. As I said, it's not possible to do so on the iPhone. Of course Apple could add such a feature to a future version of iOS, it's only software, but so far they haven't. You can suggest such a feature to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • Marking a calendar item as "private" on iPhone 3GS

Hi.. does anyone know if this is possible or if there is an app that can enhance the calendar so you can do this? I work for a UK corporate (and am based in the UK) and have my work Outlook email and calendar synched to my iPhone but when I create a new entry on the iPhone I can't seem to see how to tag it as "private" like you can in Outlook.
[Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm new to this discussion board so I am not sure where to find things just yet!]
    Thanks people
    Emilie

    Thanks ckuan.
To clarify, I have 3 accounts configured on my iPhone. When i create a new calendar entry it defaults to being associated to my work account (as i have this set as my default account in settings) but i can change this easily. Regardless of which calendar i select there is not flag to set the entry as "private". As such when i then view this entry in outlook it is not marked as private so others in my company can see the detail.
I'm either having to go into outlook to set the appointment as private or create two entries on my phone - 1 simply with a title as private in my work calendar and then a real one in my personal account. This actually isn't that great either as i like to mark all my personal appointments as private too as i don't want these visible to anyone who has access to my personal calendars which are hotmail/gmail calendars.
Sorry if i missunderstood your response but if you know how i can see this working that would be great.

  • C7 calendar Outlook XP sync - entries marked priva...

    Hi
I get a problem if I try to sync the calendar entries from the C7-00 via Ovi-Suite [2.2.1.23] with Outlook XP [still using Windows XP (SP3)]. Entries are synced, but those entries made in the C7 are automatically marked as private during sync. How can I change this? Is there a way to avoid this? Some by now undetected preferences? Another calendar?
The problem with this is, there is no way to distinguish between private and business appointments, and I have to let my college, representing me during my absence, see my private appointments in Outlook to be able to see the kind of and edit my business-appointments entered in the C7 as well.
    Kind regards, Andreas.

I have the opposite /related problem. I sync my nokia 6700 classic with outlook calendar using OVI. I want all entries created using my phone to be private so they are not seen by others in my shared works calendar.
However, every time I sync, the 'private' property is removed from all entries. I have OVI sync set to use the outlook data if there is duplication, but this does not help. How do I put 'private' on, and keep it on through a sync!?!? I have to keep manually going through my outlook calendar and re-clicking private!

  • Outlook "Private" calendar entries

Is there any way to stop OVI from uploading "private" calendar entries to the 6710? I have a lot of "private" information (mainly reminders to do work related things) which do not really need to be uploaded to my wife's phone.

    Hi Jason

  • SharePoint 2013 Workflow Calendar Entry Create Time AM PM Conflict

    Windows 2012, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise.
I have a change control form that basically creates a calendar entry once it's been approved. Works well, but discovered a bug with the calendar create portion when there are events that have the same time in AM\PM.
    Use case:
    1. Create a change control item in the list with a planned start time of 2PM, I'll approve it, which then fires off a workflow and it will create an event in the change control calendar for 2PM, all good.
    2. Create another change control item in the list with a planned start time of 2AM this time, I'll approve it, which then fires off a workflow and it will create an event in the change control calendar for 2PM and not 2AM. ???
Yes the original event entry created in the list shows planned start time of 2AM, but its being created in the calendar entry as 2PM. This only happens when the time is exact. For example if I had created the second entry at 3PM, it will create the calendar
entry at 3PM. It only happens if there is an existing entry for the same time, then all subsequent entries for the same time will have the same AM\PM depending on the first entry.
I can manually create an entry in the calendar and specify 2PM and it will take, so its something with the workflow that is causing it. The workflow is very simple all its doing is checking the item to see if the field says approved for the change request
form if so, create calendar event and carry over the fields, planned start time, planned end time, title description, that's it.

    Hi James,
In my test per your description, I cannot reproduce the issue, however, I attached the screenshot of my test for your reference, let me know if there is misunderstanding.
Please capture the screenshot of your workflow process design so I can try to reproduce or find out if there is action that may cause the issue.
In addition, could you please try to locate workflow error message? If there is obvious error information, please refer to the Activate Workflow Manager Logs part in the article below:

  • IPhone wants to 'Modify' 504 Outlook Calendar entries on Syncingvis iTunes

    Hi,
Until a few months ago (possibly when the clocks went forwards an hour??), my iPhone 4S synced without problems with my Outlook Calendar via iTunes, but now I get a message saying that continuing will result in modifying 504 entries on my Outlook Calendar. I therefore cancel the Sync.
None of my other syncing - music, photos, contacts, etc - are affected. I have tried choosing (on the iTunes info page) to 'over-ride' my iPhone's calendar and put the Outlook one onto the iPhone, which works okay, but then I get the same error message when I next sync the calendars...
I don't want to let it sync and have to alter all my Outlook calendar entries. Time zone settings are for London on the iPhone (General>Date & Time), and also on my computer, which is showing the same time.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Mark

I had the same issue with the disappearing calendar. I had my entire work and personal schedule on my iPhone.
My computer had crashed and I had to reinstall Outlook. Once that was done, I did a sync with the iPhone....and the entire calendar vanished from the phone!!
I have searched and searched the net to find a way to restore it, but I think it is gone forever. I would have thought it would be part of the backup that iTunes does before a sync...but It won't restore to the phone. I figured out how to 'extract' just the calendar info and it looks as if there are hundreds of entries there...but nothing I do works to either get them back on the iPhone or even save them as a CSV file to import into Outlook.
I am mad as anything to think that I will have to input every entry again not to mention all the ones I will miss, or the past ones that I still needed.

  • Calendar entries deleted on my laptop when synchronizing with 8220

Hi - I synchronized my BB today and found that it has deleted all my calendar entries on my laptop - fortunately they're all still on my BB.  How do I get them back onto my laptop?  This has not happened before. I have the setting on two way synch.

If the synch is on two ways, is very rare .
Try this, reset the device, with the phone turn on, take out the battery for 30 seconds and reinstall it again, try again
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

  • Rebuilt iOS Exchange account, Calendar entries disappeared

I recreated the iOS Mail entry for my Gmail account using the Exchange protocol option, marked the account to sync Mail, Contacts and Calendars and my mail and contacts came back as expected, but all my iOS calendar entries are missing.
I've confirmed that Calendar is using the correct calendar ([email protected]), hit the 'reload' swirly arrow and I can see activity on my router for a few seconds, but, nada.
I use Google 2 step but it works for everything else and I can't think this means anything.
    What am I missing??

Never mind, I added a random calendar entry and everything immediately reappeared.

  • 5 Months of Calendar Entries Wiped Out - Any way to recover?

Have BB Curve 8330, Outlook 2007, BB Desktop Manager v4.3. I set the Desktop Manager to NOT automatically synchronize. However, when I connected my Curve tonight, a message kept flashing on the BB screen ("organizing data") nonstop and I saw more and more days on the calendar go blank. I had to turn the device off and remove the battery to kill this process. All calendar entries back to August 12 appear to be wiped out. Unfortunately, I have not synch'd with Outlook for three weeks. So everything I entered in the BB calendar for the past three weeks has disappeared. And it's a lot. I use this information for client billing. Question is: has it really disappeared for good, or is there someplace else in the BB that it's stored? Maybe grasping at straws, but I'm a relative newbie, so I'm hoping it all went into some alternate calendar universe within the device. I must say that as a Palm user for 8 years I never had so many destructive things happen to my data.

Correction from toonce98: it keeps saying "organizing calendar"
Also, I looked at the Synchronization Log in Desktop Director to make sure it hadn't somehow bypassed the fact that I do not have a check mark in the Automatic Synchronization option. No, there was no synchronization activity since Nov 24. So how and why would it just start wiping out calendar entries? Addresses and Memos seem to be intact.
