Calendar entry colours
Have subscribed to a shared Google Callander for my snooker club. To stay organised with my team. I have set the cal colour to green on my apple devices.
On iPad colour changed back to brown every sync. After few attempts of changing this to green it appears to hold green now. On iPhone the colour keeps changing to purple and will not hold green. This is a google calendar and if google sets the colour both colours would be the same so cannot see this to be the problem. If you can assign a colour on a device the device should remember and set the colour otherwise pointless. The problem is inconsistent between devices and not sure why. Bring back the days when equipment done what you asked of it. Any ideas?
Could not agree with more the one thing that's lets the this phone and Sony down is the lack of any customization on applications and more so the calendar app as the gray is so bad to see

Calendar entries slow and no longer synchronising with iCloud and devices
I have a MacBook Pro Retina, Maverick IOS 10.9.2 is the master. Why do new calendar entries no longer sync with other devices and why is there a coloured bubble and I have to wait for an entry to be in the the calendar for about 30 seconds time? Before, new items could be put into the calendar very fast. I have this problem since a few days. Everything else (email, contacts etc.) are synchronising well. I habe checked if there is a tick and everthing looks ok to me. Thank you for your help.
Regards, ChrisI use gmail for my calender so I sync calender to gmail and icloud. Right now, neither are showing up in calender on iphone.
I did have gmail notes syncing as well as Icloud notes, but turned that off last night in case that was causing the confusion. It hasn't resolved the notes problem.
Any ideas? It does seem a bit odd. -
Iphone Calendar Entries don't show up on Mobile Me
This is new problem - I think it started after I entered the latest ITunes update and MAC OS X (10.6.6)
When I make calendar entries on Mobile Me or ICal, they automatically show up on my IPhone. However, it doesn't work the other way around. I have made calendar entries on my phone and they don't appear on Mobile Me or ICal.
Please HELP!Syncing Calendar with MobileMe is bi-directional, so if entries get from MobileMe to the phone, entries made on the phone should get to MobileMe (and to your laptop).
The only time I've seen your problem is with a jailbroken phone. Is that the case here? (Still using iOS 4.2...) -
Z10 calendar entries can't be deleted
On getting my Z10 I performed a device swop using Blackberry Link from from Blackberry 9860 running OS 7.1.
It was a virtual failure, only copying a few pieces of data, no contacts at all and only a few calendar entries, which were from 2011. On my Z10 I delete these old entries, some of which are recurring ones, only to find that when I restart my phone they all return. I have tried battery pulls and editing them so they no longer are recurring entries but nothing works. I start the phone in the morning and they all return.

Are these calendar entries synchronized with any email accounts? Like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail?
If they are, I would suggest turning off Wireless synchronization and then remove the calendar entries and test.
Go to Setting>Accounts and delete the calendar account.

Duplicate calendar entries on iPhone, but not in iCal (NOT using mobile.me)

I've had a problem for a while (since iOS 3) where I get duplicate events on the iPhone (3GS and 4). It seems to happen for events that have been edited/deleted - they are not edited on the phone, rather a duplicate is made. It seems as if what is supposed to happen is iTunes deletes the old one, then creates a new one, only the old one is not being deleted. This is very annoying, especially for recurring events that get edited several times!
I have found several posts about duplicate contacts and calendar entries but they all seem to be pointing to a conflict with mobile.me which I do not use. This is a simple sync between iCal and iPhone using iTunes.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?I used to have this issue on my original iPhone (the 2G from 2007). You have to reset your sync data. This should help you; http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627?viewlocale=en_US BUT don't shoot the messenger on this as I did a quick Google search.

I did a software upgrade to IOS6 and my Iphone4S is now unable to update. Do I lose all my contacts and calendar entries when I restore?
You should be syncing all your contacts and calendars with your computer, either via iCloud or iTunes, so it is easy to re-sync them back to the phone after you restore.

Yikes! After upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5, I lost my Contacts, calendar entries, and Notes (100+) on my iPhone (3 years old). How do I retrieve them? My last backup/sync to iTunes acct was Sept 18 but yesterday's backup bombed due to lack of space on my C: drive.
This happened to me too but it was really all there. Go to your calendar, click on calendar in the upper left hand corner, click on show all calendars, click done in the right upper corner. Everything should show up!!!

Like many others after I installed Maverick I found that all the calendar history has been lost and most of the forward info has also been lost. Also in order to get calendar, contacts and notes to sync with the iPhone I have had to move to iCloud. Contacts and notes sync fine. new calendar entries sync ok. My iPhone has all the calendar entries that were on the Mac before I installed Maverick. So far iCloud has not overwritten them nor have they synced onto iCloud.
How can I get all the entries from my iPhone onto iCloud, without losing the only copy of my calendar from my iPhone?
Thanks Apple for deciding to take over my privacy. I do not want this data stored on a US based server. Fortunately Mail still syncs via my own email provider. I guess Apple will find a way to stop that soon too!Greetings Nefertiti72,
It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. I have linked to a knowledge base article which provides more information about iCloud contacts syncing:

Learn what to do if you’re having issues using iCloud Contacts. For example, you might make changes to Contacts that don't update across all of your devices.
You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.

I have a Iphone 4s and my friend has one too and we want to switch phones but do not want to lose any data or message or calendar entries, we want the same exact content avaliable in my phone swapped to his and his to mine. how can this be done?
Back up your phones onto your respective computers with iTunes, swap phones, Reset them and when you connect it to iTunes, instead of "Set up as a new iPhone", click on restore from back up

I recenly updated to IOS6. I have a couple issues after the process.
1- I lost all my calendar entries after the date I upgraded to IOS6 (all before the date were there). I created an icloud account to assure that I would not lose any going forward. Now when I enter a calendar entry, it does not appear on my icloud account. I can enter it in icloud and it will appear on my phone, but not the reverse.
2 - None of my notes transferred into icloud. I tried to manually enter one on icloud, again so I wouldn't lose this information going forward, and it appears on my iphone twice. I cannot figure out how to get the notes currently on my iphone into my icloud account.you need to do a backup of the old phone and then on your new phone restore from that backup

How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes
Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?

JustinI can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
Any ideas?

How do I get rid of duplicate calendar entries in my notifications?
I managed to get rid of all my duplicate calendar entries on my calendar. I unchecked all but the two calendars I use.
The problem is that when I go to my notifications screen, under "Calendar", it still shows all my entries like three times. How do I get rid of this? It takes up all the realestate on my notifications.Sounds like your syncing Calendars over the air with iCloud, as well as with a supported Calendar application on your computer. Doing both will duplicate your entries, so do one or the other, not both.

Duplicate calendar entries... only in list view
I have just observed a new phenomenon on my iphone which seems distinct from the duplicate entry problem often described. I seem to have numerous (but not all) entries in my calendar duplicated only on iphone and ONLY in LIST view. Single entries only are seen in DAY view on the iphone, iCal, mobileMe and a google calendar I sync to by busysync. I have been running smoothly for months and I assume the problem has come about because I turned off Push in the settings when abroad recently. If I edit just one of the duplicate entries in list view - by just clicking to the time edit pane, but not necessarily changing anything, the duplicate disappears! If I edit such an entry on iCal or Mobile me, when the sync goes through to the iphone, the duplicate also disappears. I think I can clear this one by forcing the iphone to restore from a backup or something similar, but I am intrigued about this behaviour which suggests a software bug.
I have not understood why this problem was occurring, but I have found a solution which is to force the calendar entries to be reset from Mobile Me. I did this:
1 Did a backup in iTunes in case it went horribly wrong.
2 Went into iphone>settings>Mail Contacts Calendars > (Mobile Me Account) > Switched off calendars - told it to delete entries on iphone.
3 Turned off iphone
4 Waited a bit
5 Turned iphone on
6 Repeated 2 and switched on calendars.
7 Waited a bit for Mobile Me to sync
All calendars restored nicely..
Why this problem occurred in the first place is a mystery. Unlike other punters, I didn't have itunes syncing my calendars to iphone, only Mobile Me........... It has the strong smell of a bug as this problem emerged after many months of trouble free syncing only when I updated to iphone 3. -
TS3999 My calendar entries on my iPad do not go to the Cloud, so not to my Macbook or phone.
My question is, why don't my calendar entries on my iPad not go to my Macbook and my phone? They do not show on iCloud.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings. -
Existing Calendar Entries not Syncing to iCloud
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 that has five calendars. I attempted to sync it to my iCloud account today and it only syncs one of my calendars ("Work"). The other calendars ("School", "Home" etc), show up in iCloud in the Calendars sidebar, but none of the entries do. If I create a new event on my phone in any of the calendars, they show up and sync perfectly to the iCloud and to my new MBA (running Mavericks). Likewise, events I create on my MBA and iCloud show up fine on my phone. So, why are these existing entries, for all but one of my existing calendars, not syncing? Any ideas?
I've tried toggling iCloud on and off on my MBA and my phone; signing in and out of iCloud; restarting both phone and MBA.... no luck. My next step is the restore my iPhone, but I'd really rather not do that. I hope someone can help!
