Calendar entry duplication when trying to copy

When trying to copy a calendar entry pressing thу Option key, i get three copies of the entry. Any ideas how to fix this?

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Error -50 when trying to copy files to external hard drive.

When trying to copy files (itunes music folder) to an external hard drive, I get the following message: Copying music failed. An unknown error occurred (-50).
I have tried repairing disk permissions but still get the message. Any thoughts?

A couple of posts referencing "error -50" seem to indicate that the error could result from a corrupted file.
One from Kappy follows:

One way you could save your music to the other drive would be to do it folder by folder (dragging each artist's folder, to the other drive). I suspect you won't have many (if any) errors doing that, and if you hit the corrupted file, you can come back to that folder and see which one is bad. You could also try to drag groups of artists folders to the drive if you had quite a few. One note: If you save your files this way, you won't be saving the library, which contains all the playlists you've created...you'll have to recreate them.
If you needed that music down the road, you could just do a File>Import from iTunes....

Any ideas why InCopy would freeze when trying to copy content?

Any ideas why InCopy would freeze when trying to copy content? This is occurring on a corporate computer running Windows. We've uninstalled and reinstalled InCopy and are still runnng into the same problem.

I am also having the same issue when Syncing my 5th gen Nano. I can sync my iPhone, iPad and my sons iPod Touch but not my Nano. When I click to sync I just get the rainbow wheel.

Sometimes when I build a BPM project in NWDS I get this error,

OS X errors are cryptic. error code -50 says error in user parameter list.
You need to give us WAY more info if you want help.
What is WD for Mac? If it's an external drive - did you install any software for it? (shouldn't need to)
How much free space on the Mac HD? Size of the file(s)?
Is it a USB drive or Firewire or Thunderbolt?

No response from Teststand when trying to copy a large 2-D data in Local context.

Attached is an example. When trying to copy a large 2-D data in local context "InOutArray", Teststand will run into no response. Is that a bug in Teststand?

Text goes wonky when trying to copy from PDF

Hi all,
I'm having a problem when trying to copy text from a PDF which is distilled from a PostScript file. When i paste it into anywhere this is just all rubbish and symbols.
I'm running distiller 5.0.5 and PPD 3011.104. The font's should be TrueType however they just up as custom encoded Type 1 fonts with a prefix "File" in front of the name. e.g. FileSwis721BT
Does any one have any idea's.
(please note this is not to do with restriced copying access in distiller, the options are all unticked!)

First, this is the wrong forum for this discussion...
Second, Distiller 5.0.5 is almost 10 years old at this time and Adobe no longer supports it.
Third, it sounds like your Postscript may/does have problems based on the font issues. But w/o seeing the PS, we can only guess.

Error Message when trying to copy a picture and save it

Hi,
We have just recently started having this problem. When we are trying to copy and save any pictures or screens a pop-up comes up stating one of 2 things. One is regarding something about the remote connection or we get 'access denied'... These are not protected things we are trying to copy, it is on everything we try to copy and save.
Any ideas?

Has Vista's Service Pack 2 been installed? If you don't know, run winver.exe to find out.
Seems like it might be a firewall issue or a service may not be started. Please follow these instructions carefully.
1. Note the exact computer-clock time of such an error.
2. Open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and expand Windows Logs.
3. Inspect the Application and System logs for an Error event at that exact time.
4. Do not try to manually copy anything from there. Double-click such an entry and then click the Copy button to put the details on your clipboard.
5. Paste that information without editing into your reply here. We need only the part down to where it says..

Calendar entry duplication problem

Using E72 and latest version of OVI Suite. When syncing' my phone wirelessly with the laptop, (running Outlook 2010), I end up with duplicate calendar entries on the laptop. Needless to say I have checked settings and cannot figure out why this should be happening. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Calendar entries erased when synced!!

I am getting so fed up with this ipod touch already! when i synced my ipod touch, i noticed it erased a good number of my calendar entries. does anyone know if i can retrieve them? or why this happened? or how i can avoid it in the future?

Yes, this is the same issue I've been having. I've tried multiple restores in iTunes, and after hours of back-up attempts, none of my calendar information - old or new - has shown up back on the iPhone.
I don't use Outlook or Google Calendar, and yet the iPhone now shows three calendars: two marked "calendar" and one marked "home". I never added a calendar. I merely ran the calendar on the phone, presuming backing the phone up in previous OS's would save previous calendar dates.

Error -36 when trying to copy AVI files from External Drive to Mac

Hi
Hoping for some help with a problem I appreciate others have faced.
I bought a new video camera recently and have just tried to copy the AVI files from the first few videos to my mac but am getting the error code 36 that states the files cannot be read or written.
The format of the camera is MS-DOS (FAT 32) but when I tried changing it to MAC OS Extended it did something to the camera so the mac could then not recognise it when I tried to re-connect it via the USB port.
I've been able to copy the files onto my friends Windows laptop no problem so don't believe them to be corrupt.
Have also tried the dot_clean fix but this didn't work.
Could there be another reason for the error? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Back-up software always seemed to have some kind of a hiccup to it, but I'll certainly look into Tri-Backup3/4. I used to Retrospect years ago, a rather fussy thing if I recall.
Now, on the Safe Mode boot - not a success BUT a different result!
I got the -36 again, but this time it was the external drive FILE that errored, not the OS-resident drive.
In other words, pre-Safe Mode the error said "...because some data in "ZillaHAL" could not be read or written." (ZillaHAL is my OS-X drive).
In Safe, it read, "...because some data in "WinXP Pro.vmem" could not be read or written."
"WinXP Pro.vmem" is the virtual machine file - which basically is a simple Mac volume (folder) containing all of the files to run my XP virtual machine.
Also, this time, a file* did manage to remain on the external drive whereas before, after the error, no file at all remained.
* a generic icon appears, but it shows a size of 16+GBs. The actual file is 18.13GB - I did manage to shrink it down the other day (from it's previous 25GB).
Well, that's it for now. I'll be away for three days, so don't mind me if I cannot reply back for a spell.

Getting "resource busy" when trying to copy from an external USB drive

Hi, I have an external (Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB) USB drive attached to my MacBook Pro (2009) running 10.6. I am trying to copy the files back to my laptop. However, when I copy them in the Finder, I get a message saying that some of the files are "in use". So I even tried copying using Terminal, and often I get this kind of message:

After this happens, when I do "ls /Volumes/MyDriveName" I get zero results, nothing. I cannot unmount or eject the USB drive. I have to physically kill power to it, and then plug it back in. Then my MBP recognizes it again, and I can work with it for a short time before I hit this problem again. Copying some files works, but mostly they do not. I hope I have not lost these files.
I ran Disk Utility, and it can't do anything with this drive... it keeps saying it cannot unmount it.
Oddly, I can "ls" every file in every directory on this drive after I reconnect it (i.e. until the problem happens). So it seems like my data is sort of there, at least the directory is.
Is there something more robust than Disk Utility that I can try? Any idea why I cannot eject the disk? And especially, what this "Resource busy" and "in use" message is about? This is coming straight after a reboot, and it only happens for SOME files, so it's not likely to be an obvious usage by some open app.

Hmm, check out this program http://www.hamsoftengineering.com/products/wkm/wkm.html ... it might lead to some more clues. It seems like as soon as you plug it in, the system latches onto it. I'm guessing because it's an iMovie file, which OS X scans for, so all applications have the ability to grab that media that it's messing things up.
Suggestions...copy those files, and rename them.
