Calendar entry? Why Apple Why?

So I love Apple. I was excited to see the ipod touch and hold it in my hands but....the calendar upset me. Why can't you enter stuff into the calendar directly from the iPod Touch? It's seems like the most simple thing to add since it was included in the iPhone. All the time I've been waiting for a Apple PDA and now I can't have one. It's a sad sad day for the Apple Company.

It would be nice to have a calendar entry and, having updated several of my contacts on the iPod touch, I suspect a software update might add calendar functionality.
If not, then I continue to enjoy listening to music, watching videos, and surfing the web. It's amazing to have something that works just like the preview videos indicated.

Auto-dial prefix, no # or *. Why, Apple, WHY?

I have an iPhone through my employer. Lucky me.
In order to make private calls that are billed to me rather than my employer, I need to add a prefix containing # and *. For some reason, Apple has made this a real pain. The most obvious way to do this would be if the phone simply had a feature to add a prefix to any call. Failing that, a third party app should do the trick (by a button press, by modifying the address book, as a default sequence or a range of similar options).
However, no such feature exists in the phone, and third party apps are not allowed to append # and * to phone numbers.
First, is there any rational explanation for disallowing this? Why are Apple this evil?
Second, is there any workaround, e.g. batch-editing the address book on my computer or similar? An obvious solution would be to traverse each address book entry on my computer and add a number containing the prefix. Could be done manually I suppose, but, hey, this is the computer age. We even have supercomputers now, Apple.

Who says they didn't do this? I see no difference in using AirPlay for movies than I do for a game or mobile safari. Also, the new TV has Bluetooth - wonder why....

Why Apple, WHY?

Do I have to download 25+ Megs everytime you come out with a new iTunes version, why cant you just let me download the changes. Most people are not hurting for bandwidth but why download more than you have to.

As these are user to user Forums and rarely answered by Apple you will likely not get a response from Apple as to - why.
That is just the way it is and it maybe that the programers find it easier to write the code that way. Could you imagine the problems of trying to write an update/upgrade and there are how many versions of iTunes out there? Trying to make sure all those previous versions get the correct what ever changed.......hmmmmmmmmm.....I think Apple has it right. Just my opinion.

Why is the calendar entry so light in color?

As older people we cannot easily see the light text on any entries. Why can't we have a selection to make it darker. Look at how nice and dark this text is. Make calendar entries this dark.

Try Settings>General>Accessibiltiy>Bold Text>On.

Why are my calendar entries doubled and my Find iPhone and iPad quit working in the last 24 hours? What happened? I didn't change any settings. Thanks in advance for your help.

Why is Siri calendar entry intermittent

I prefer dictating entries onto my iPhone 5 calendar using Siri. Unfortunately, at times, the "microphone" icon on the calendar is greyed out, forcing me to input calendar entries by hand. Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it?

may you using different apple ID's on your different systems ? In that case, you might have more than one icloud ID and syncing/mounting any calendars in one view, so you have the same entry doubled

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

Why does the new iOS 7.1 not show all your calendar entry's like 7.0 only shows daily entry's not the list. New software on iPad still shows all calender entry's

New iOS 7.01 iPhone 5. When you go to check you calendar entry's it does not bring up all the entry's only shows entry's for each day. Why?

When in month view, swipe up or down to change the month, tap the litle icon "three lines horizontal" next to the search icon, and you have a list view of all events. Clicking the icon twice again, brings up the Day view, and then again tapping twice the list view again....
Personally I am not very happy with this "advanced" app, and I have installed Week calendar which basically is another interface to the same calendars database.

You don't have to turn on iCloud to use the calendar app. Only if you wish to sync to iCloud. However, if it was previously being used, and was turned off, that would cause you to lose those entries on the device. Turning it back on should recover them if they have no been deleted for some reason.
You might also check to make sure all of your calendars are being displayed in the app (Calendar app > Calendars. Check any unchecked calendars to display the content.

Since the iOS5 upgrade both calendar and phone contact entries are not possible.

Well, I have found the solution in a german forum. Switching Contacts and Calendar "ON" under iCloud settings solves the problem and Contact and Calendar entries are possible again.
So it works now, but I am not sure why do I need to allow the "iClouding" of my Contacts and my Calendar to be able to manage them on my iPhone. Does anybody in this forum know the reason?

My old calendar entries deleted themselves. I lost all my history. WHY?

This is the second time my prior calendar entries have disappeared. Gone. Everything longer than a month ago.

Make sure that Sync entries older than 30 days is checked in settings.

Why can't I view a list of my Calendar entries

suddenly I can't view all my calendar entries on iphone 4. The screen is taken up with a display of the calendar month/year with only one or two lines of my entries. I want to see the lot & don't need to see a display of a calendar. I've looked at Settings but can't change it. I didn't instigate this change - it just changed yesterday & now I can't see my appointments for the day. I want my list back!

Thanks for your reply. I've already updated to iOS7.1. The calendar gives 3 options at top right of screen - Add, Search & List, but the List option now shows the calendar (as in days/weeks of the selected calendar month) & underneath that it shows the regular list, but because the display of the calendar month takes up 4-6 lines of the screen, there are aonly 1-3 lines of my list displayed. The magnifying Search option has also changed so that tapping the magnifying glass only displays entries if I enter 1 or more characters to search on. If I type in a character, it will only show entries which have a word starting with that character, not every instance of it.

Remove applemobiledevicehelper.exe and why apple doesn't play by the rules?

Hi all,
I'm just wondering if somebody knows how to remove or rip out applemobiledevicehelper.exe. It's eating up resources and I don't need it since I don't have an Apple mobile device.
On the point of playing by the rules, I'm wondering why Apple believes it can just dump all sorts of crap on my computer that I haven't asked for, need or want. E.g. Quicktime, Applemobiledevicehelper. Apple seems to think it is SO cool that the rules somehow don't apply to them.

How do you remove Apple Mobile Device Support?
I just went to Add/remove programs, found Apple Mobile Device and clicked uninstall.
My iTunes seems to work fine without it, but I have an old iPod, I can't speak for the most recent models.

2 apple ID's to 1. With so many people having the same issue of 2 legitimate accounts by accident or whatever, why would Apple not let us merge them into one? It would simplify our lives and I don't see why Apple won't allow this.

2 accounts to 1. I was so anxious to set up my new iPad at the store that I accidentally set up a new Account. With so many people requesting to merge 2 legitimate accounts that they own, I can't understand why Apple is refusng to allow us to do so! This would simplify our lives so much. I have just switched over to Apple products and if I could at least set up both accounts on my iPad it would help -without signing in and out. I could do this on my android.
