Calendar Express in Communications Express Problem

It seems intermittently, maybe after using commadmin to perform some task (e.g., add user to a e-mail dist. group), a user cannot access his calendar within communications express. I don't have the exact error - but it's something like calendar is not available.
Removing the <@domain.com> from the following 3 attributes,
Default Calendar: [email protected]$User One
Owned Calendar: [email protected]$User One
Subscribed Calendar: [email protected]$User One
seems to remedy this.
so they become:
Default Calendar: user1$User One
Owned Calendar: user1$User One
Subscribed Calendar: user1$User One
But recently, I wasn't able to fix this by editing these attributes in the DA, I got a 'could not save error.' and nothing in the ldap logs. I was however able to remove these as cn=Directory Manager in the LDAP console?
they had become multiples, e.g. for Default Calendar: there would be two values (one correct, and another incorrect):
Default Calendar:
user1$User One
[email protected]$User One
Any idea what this is about? I believe I have read it has something to do with the legacy vs. hosted specification when creating a user, these users are all created as legacy.

The question really is, why do I have to keep correcting these 3 attributes. What's causing the @domain.com to be appended to them, or added as an entirely new value? e.g. an attributre seems to be able to have multiple values, as mentioned above.

    We have the same problem as Matt.
    We have properly set up OCS Email it works well both inside and outside our network.
    The only thing that appears not to be working is the email notification capabilities of OCS Calendar.
    We have changed sendmail.cf as stated in the documentantion.
    we are using -
    RedHat Advanced Server 2.1,
    sendmail 8.11.6
    bind 9.1.3
    I would be very gratefull of any information on this, as we're out of ideas...

  • Functionality Differences between Calendar Express & Communications Express

    Now that the BIG problems related to our migration from Calendar v5.1.1 to v6.3 have died down, we're getting reports of significant (to our users, at least) differences in the functionality between our old environment (Calendar Express v5.1.1) and the new environment (Communications Express v6.3) (partial list at the end of this posting).
    All of the below issues, I have checked in Calendar Express v6.3, and they appear to function as our users expect, like they did in 5.1.1. The problem is that we went live with CommExpress, and have not branded Calendar Express for general consumption. We would like to be able to make the CommExpr calendar functions work like they do in Calendar Express, assuming it wouldn't be a HUGE undertaking of modification to the underlying code. I've asked Sun Support for some answers regarding this, but thought I'd post something here while I wait for an answer.
    Issues:
    - When scheduling an appointment on someone else's calendar (subscribed), the owner of the calendar is NOT added as an invitee, but the logged-in user is. This causes major problems when trying to check availability, because the owner of the calendar is not included in this check, but the person doing the scheduling is, even though they're not going to the meeting.
    - When you click on "check availability" from the main CommExpress calendar screen, it defaults to the logged-in user, and not the user for the currently selected "Current Calendar." Again, user reports that this functionality is different than previously.
    - Also, previously when two events were scheduled for a user at the same time, the calendar would show "conflict" in red letters in both events. We are no longer getting this warning.
    Again, all three of these issues behave in the current version of Calendar Express like they did in v5.1.1. CommExpress just doesn't work right in this respect. We'd like to continue to use CommExpress, since all indications are that Calendar Express is going away at some point, but we need the calendar functionality that CommExpress is not providing.

  • Default Calendar Group for Communications Express?

    When using the soon to be eliminated Calendar Express (cshttpd) interface, it is possible to select a default calendar group. This causes the application to always display a calendar group after logging in rather than the user's individual calendar.
    Does anyone know if it is possible to set such a preference in the Communications Express (uwc) interface?

    UWC does not provide you this feature.You could raise an enhancement request -RFE .

  • User Settings not working in Calendar Express after Upgrade from 6.2 to 6.3

    After Installing Patch 121657-19 the Calendar Express view seems to mix up
    the default preferences with the user selected preferences.
    For example let's say the user selects the green color scheme in the options panel,
    at the next login to Calendar Express the user gets for the default blue color scheme
    for the top frame, and the green colors for the middle frame.
    This seems to randomly change for each page and even between just reloading the
    page with the browser's reload button. It seems like each frame just randomly has
    either the default or the selected color scheme.
    This also seems to happens with the other User Preferences like "Default Initial View"
    or "Default Calendar Group".
    Any idea where to look to figure this out is greatly appreciated.

    I have a brand new Sun Java Calendar Server v6.3 U1 installation and have enabled the Calendar Express UI. I am aware that it is deprecated in 6.3 but I have been told by upper management that we are not going to force our users to use Communications Express just yet (long ridiculous story). It would help me tremendously if I could customize the drop-down list of the user's subscribed & owned calendars on the top right-hand side of the UI, next to where it say "Current Calendar". Currently the list uses the format:
    "<cal-id> (<description>)".
    The cal-id has the format user@domain and what I need is it to just say <user> (<description>), without the '@domain' in the cal-id. That is fine if the calendar system knows the cal-id as user@domain (i.e. in a cscal listing), I am just wanting it to not show the '@domain' in the listing in the Web UI. I'm hoping it can be changed somewhere within the documents in the html/ directory, but I wouldn't have the first clue where to look.

Now would be a good time to start testing Convergence, find any bugs/behaviour issues that impact your site and report them to Sun (assuming you have a Support contract) as the developers are currently working flat-out on Convergence and now is the best window-of-opportunity.

    I saw a few threads related to my problem, but no solutions ....
    When I try to open the Sun Java System Calendar Express web-interface with IE6, I get a blank page after the initial logon-screen. IE7 and Firefox do not show this problem - so I assume the server itself is working fine.
    I run SJS-CS v6.3 with patch 121659-18 on Linux.
    Otherwise the calendar server is working just fine - problem is, that I cannot switch all users to new/other browsers ...
    Any ideas ?

    I have a Mac 10.6.8.  Just installed Airport Express.  I can't see any base stations.  I did a hard reset on the Airport Express, turned off all devices,  turned them back on.   I see plenty of Airport networks in the neighborhood.  How can I tell if I have a Mac problem or an Airport Express problem?  Airport Express blinks Amber. 

    Obviously,  I'm still using ethernet to be able to reply to this.
    Alright, use the same ethernet cable to plug directly into the airport express. This will FORCE the airport utility to now see it regardless of weak signals & interference. You can set it up that way.
    BTW, what is the original intent on the express?

    Sessions require session cookies.
    If the user has cookies off then the session won't be retained by the server automatically.
    The solution to this is to use URL rewriting.
    There is a method: HTTPResponse.encodeURL( String url )
    It automatically adds the JSESSIONID used to track the session onto the url if the browser is not accepting cookies.
    You need to do this on every link in the website so that session is maintained.

  • Another Airport Express problem thread.

    Hi Everyone,
    I got a Powerbook recently and like many on these threads I am beset with Airport Express problems.
    Here's my story. I purchased my Powerbook about a month ago and popped into the Apple Store to ask about the best way to have wireless internet access at home. They recommended the D-Link DSL-300T ADSL modem and Airport Express. I purchased these items and set everything up at home. This didn't work. After a week of talking to Apple, I got the answer to my problem from a Mac message board. Supposedly the ADSL modem recommended by Apple and stocked in their online store wasn't compatible with the lastest version of Airport Express 6.2.0. So I dowgraded the firmware to 6.1.1 and everything worked fine. My next problem was after running an OS X software update which I can presume also updated the Airport Express back to 6.2.0. So again I downgrade to 6.1.1 and it works again. Then I have to get my Powerbook replaced as the refurb Apple sold me didn't have the superdrive in it that Apple advertised, so I transfer my settings and files and i can go online for a couple of days and then it stops working again. I do the downgrade again but this doesn't help. So I take it to see a genius at Apple who performs the AE update 2005-001 which he says will solve the problem of incompatability with 3rd party modems. Take it home, it doesn't work. Powerbook almost gets thrown out of the window.
    Why is something that should be so simple so difficult.
    My questions are does anyone have a D-Link DSL 300T modem that works with the update 2005-001 ???
    Why do Apple recommend an ADSL modem which doesn't work with their products ???
    What ADSL modem for the UK does work with Airport Express ???

    Hi Bollard, not sure whether this would work with the current model of the modem, but I ran into problems with the DSL300+ when first using it wit an airport extreme, back in 2003.
    I eventually resolved the problems by using the modem in bridging mode. Not sure if this would be applicable with the new model, or whether it work if you are needing PPPoA rather than PPPoE, but for what its worth my experiences and solution can be found at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=607296&#607296 I've had a fair bit of positive feedback from people who found it worked for them, at least with similar equipment and connection protocol.

    SQl Express problem, I can't connect another computer.
    I have sql express on win xp, and one client win 7 starter. The firewall is disable, I can ping the server computer (win xp pro). On Sql Configuration Manager I enable TCP/IP protocol and named pipes. ODBC local is fine, but remote don't connect.

  • Sun Java System Calendar Express  Help

    I've set up an appointment on Calendar Express and when I look at the calendar of the room I've set the appointment in, it's not there. I can see the appointment in my own calendar (both Outlook 2003 and Calendar Express), but not in the calendar of the location of the meeting (until about 24-48 hours later). Can somebody please help me figure out why meetings aren't being posted until a day or two after the initial setup?

    Check the Time Zone of the conference room calendar. Is it set to a different zone than your default (Home) calendar?

    Thanks for the question and welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are experiencing issues with “No Service” or “Searching” on your iPhone. The following resource provides some great troubleshooting steps that you may wish to try:

    Your iPhone may have one of these symptoms:
    - iPhone displays "No Service" or "Searching" in an area of good coverage
    - iPhone doesn't regain service when returning to an area of coverage
    Resolution
    If you encounter either of the above symptoms on your iPhone, follow these steps to attempt to resolve the issue. Test after each step.
    1. Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    2. Turn iPhone off and then on again.
    3. Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
    4. Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
    5. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    6. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    7. Restore the iPhone.

    What I finally did was to log into my icloud account online.  I saw that all my contacts were properly synced from my MacBook Pro - so I unchecked "contacts" under iCloud preferences on my phone.  Then I rechecked it and asked it to sync again.  All the contacts from my MacBook Pro are now on my phone.  Thanks for your help!
