Calendar font changes not "sticking"

My wife and I are trying to design some calendars for Christmas gifts. We're loving iphoto 09's options ... until now. We wanted to change the default font, but it won't take.
Going to Settings > Styles > Page Text and putting in the font and size > and clicking OK has no effect. If we change the Cover Title from this same menu it DOES take affect. What am I doing wrong here?
Of course, I've tried restarting iPhoto to "refresh" the calendar. I've also exported them to PDF, but it simply isn't changing the font!
I've also tried deleting preference file and restarting iPhoto. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I've searched the forums to no avail. Thanks!

he general approach at this time is to ask if you've checked for any problematic fonts (all languages) with Apple's Font Book (look in the Applications folder). Find and remove all duplicates also.
Start there to be sure all fonts that are in play come out with a clean bill of health.
Don't hesisate to perform wholesale deletion (don't just disable) of old and/or little used fonts - be skeptical of anything that has come from Office 2008, including those related to an Equation Editor installation.
By all means be sure any 3rd party apps AND plug-ins are Snow Leopard compatible.
An additional measure is to clear the existing font caches:

Some font changes not displaying in PDF output

Hello,
I have Developer 2000 R 2.1 on my workstation and I produced a report from an Oracle table in PDF format. It displays different font weights, styles and colors (black or red) depending on values in a particular column. We have Oracle 8.0.5.2.1 and Reports30.
The PDF report is perfect when it is displayed through the 'Live Previewer' or displayed using 'PDF' under 'Web Preview'. After I send my 'REPORT.rtf' to the server and compile using 'conv.sh', I get a 'REPORT.rep'. When I try to display the PDF report from a web page, using 'REPORT.rep', the some font changes are missing. No italics, no bold in some instances. It does show 'red', but not in all the correct places.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
the PO Output for Communication does not use the $OA_MEDIA variable so you have to provide the full path to your images, example url:{translate(concat('/d01/oracle/prodcomn/java/oracle/apps/media/',BILL_TO_LOGO),' ','')}

9800 Calendar Data changes not uploading to Outlook 2010

When I add appts to my BB calendar it does not update my Outlook 2010 but always works the other way. I have it set to two way but only seems to go one way.

Hi - have you checked your Desktop Manager software's syncing settings?? It may have reverted to synching 1-way. To check this do the following:
1) Launch Desktop Manager on your computer.
2) Connect your BB to your computer via USB
3) Once the Desktop Manager finishes running, click on "Organizer" in the left panel of the Desktop Manager's main screen.
4) The right-side of the screen will change "Select Orgaanizer Data to Synchronize"
5) You should see the folowing options listed in this screen, and each having their own Configure button:
Contacts
Calendar
Tasks
Memo
6) Click on the Configure button beside Calendar.
7) In the pop-up box, there should be a drop-down at the top named "Sync Direction". Click on the drop-down and select "Two way between your device and your computer"
8) Be sure the check-box "Replace all entries on your device with entries on your computer" (below the drop-down) is not checked.
This should now allow your calendar items added to your handheld to sync with Outlook.

Ever since upgrading to snow leopard, I've had problems with fonts on my mac. Mainly, it's a case of
I have a decent number of fonts -- most of which are "disabled". The problem is every so often,
(usually after rebooting), all of my fonts get re-enabled. This gets annoying, as you can imagine,
and causes significant slowdowns in some cases.
One problem is that often, my terminal window (one of my more used apps) launches and literally
can't see the font I've told it to use, so it uses Lucida Grande (and looks crappy). The only way to get
the fonts to be "visible" again is to load font book and wait for it to process my fonts.
Has anybody else seen this problem with this and know of a solution?

Changes made in Book Module do not "stick" when the book has been duplicated

Lr 5.2 stand-alone version (not CC) – Win 7 64-bit
I had made a duplicate of the book (right-click the book Collection and select <Duplicate>). Then I made changes to the original book – changed the font for captions and for body; changed the wording of the body text; changed the padding for images. At some point in the process these changes did not '”stick” anymore. The changes were visible as long as I worked in the Book Module. But the changes were gone and the book reverted to the previous state as soon as I went to the Library and back to the Book Module. Same thing happened when I closed Lr and re-opened it.
Replacing the Preference File did not change this behavior. But when I deleted the duplicate book the behavior of Lr went back to “normal”, i.e. the changes now “stick”.
In my opinion there must be a bug that prevents that changes “stick” when after a Duplicate of a book has been created.

You're not the only one using TCS1. I, too, must endure Adobe's initial FM-RH Integration software offering with its limited patches and multiple workarounds (I don't sound bitter, do I?).
Do you have the latest patches?
When you say you modified titles in your FM book, did you modify the document titles from the book file, thereby changing the file names? Or did you change heading styles within a FM document/chapter?
If you changed the file name in any way, verify in the RH Project Manager that all links to the referenced FM files are not broken. If any file links are broken, you can resolve them in the RH Project Manager.
Changing a heading name within a FM document should not cause you this grief, as long as the file links between FM and RH remain intact.
As I don't know your level of experience, I'll make an suggestion to someone new to FM-RH integration (although, since you're using TCS1, I presume you are an experienced user). When updating the RH project, are you selecting Force Update or Update All. Force Update applies changes made in FM to your RH project. Update All only applies changes made in RH.
Also, RH has a feature that allows you to select specific topics to ignore when running a Force Update (i.e. changes in FM won't be applied to the selected topics). Make sure no topics are selected for this purpose.
If all else fails (and I don't recommend this unless you tried every other possibility), delete and re-import the book. There's another thread that helps you through this process without you having to manually reapply your settings.

I am using Illustrator (CS3) and would love to change my defaults / preferences.
Change the font and start up each page with rulers showing.
I followed the directions from the help section but my changes are not sticking.
Any ideas?

Go to your hard drive, enter library, go into users, and go into launch agents and delete the thing above. Empty the trash and restart.

Actually you can't drag the appointment to ano calendar - its says "You can’t make changes to this invitation., Only the organiser can change this event"
Also if you double click on the received appointment and open the window the only calendars shown that you can select are the 'on my mac" ones, and not the sync'd ones.
Any ideas welcome !!

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however, is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
Please fix!

You can make the font on Notes larger by going to Settings>General>Accessibility>Larger Text, click on that, and you can select the size you want the font on apps that support Dynamic Type (Notes included) to be. Be aware, however, that other apps that support this will also display a larger font. Sorry, but I don't know which those would be. You will be able to tell as soon as you encounter one. As long as anything you see in the larger font works for your needs, then you are good to go!

Really does anyone know how to change the Font in NOTES? I have not seen a resolve in the discussions

Hey folks there is a simple way to enlarge your fonts in notes... Go to SETTINGS on your iPad, then GENERAL, scan down at the bottom to ACCESSIBILTY, then LARGE TEXT. Select your text size and you're done.
Re-open Notes and you will see the change. Have fun with it!!

I created a PDF from a Word document that used Cambria font, and when I select it in Acrobat to try to change the font I get "The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved"
How can I change the font and why is it preventing me from doing so?

No, Acrobat is not a word processor.
More to the point Acrobat lets one "work" PDF and PDF is not a file format designed as a word processing, editing, formating, or page layout file format.
PDF is, essentially, a "final destination" format.
What it is is described in the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1).

Change font in Notes (iCloud)?

There are settings to change the font in Notes on each of my devices, but how do you change the font in Notes on the web page version of iCloud?

As a work around you can type your data in another application on your computer, select a font, COPY and PASTE your text into the iCloud Notes (from your web browser).
Personally I like the font, "Courier New" becuase it is classic, basic, and very ledgable.
Good luck and i hope they give options to make the Note plain Text, or HTML,
and different font/text styles.
