Calendar hangs when selecting Exchange account in preferences
I have an Exchange account set up for a company I have just left. So I'm trying to remove that Exchange account from Calendar. When I open Preferences, and go to Accounts, everything's fine, but as soon as I select the Exchange account in the list, Calendar hangs. I'm not sure how I can remove this account.
The hang report is at the following link: http://tyznik.com/misc/Calendar_2012-10-31-140401_Michaels-MacBook-Pro.hang
Michael,
Make sure that your computer is not connected to any network, or wirelessly to the internet and try deleting the account.

Calendar (MobileCal) crashes with Exchange account
I am installing a new iPad Air with iOS 7.0.4.
I configure my Exchange account on the iPad and go to the Calendar application. It opens up and starts showing some of the appointments. After a short while it crashes. Next time I try to open it, it crashes immidietly. If I remove the Calendar option from the Exchange account (leaving all the rest) Calendar opens iup OK. Once I re-enable calendar in the Exchange account it all happens again (opening up for a short while, crashing after showing some appointments and then crashing immdietly every time I open it).
I am using the same exchange account on my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) with no issues.
All other apps (email, tasks, notes and contacts) work fine with this exchange account.
I tried resseting the iPad completly and setting up the Exchange account as the first thing I do and got the same results.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be and how I might be able to resolve it?
Below is the carsh file.
Thanks,
Noam

Do you know why my mail keeps crashing? -
Mail keeps hanging with my Exchange account
When ever i setup mail in 10.5.2 to connect to my work exchange account (augh how i hate entourage), mail hangs and hangs. It gets the info eventually, but receiving, sending etc takes 15/20 minutes.
None of this happens with the same account in entourage 08. Any ideas?
HRGreetings,
I have different Macs set up to use our Exchange Mail on both "Mail" and "Entourage 2008" - In my case the Mail is faster responding to our Exchange server than Entourage is. They are the same identical Macs with nothing running in the background except Mail on the one machine and Entourage on the other.
The difference isn't dramatic, but you can see Mail is slightly faster overall.
Good Luck - Cheers,

Cannot attach photo when only exchange account configured
Hi,
I Configured my iphone 4 (iOS 6.1.3) with my organization Exchange account.
This is the only account on my device and i have a strange problem.
When i go to the photo app and select a photo and try attach it to a new email, it send me to the "Add account..." page, like i didn't set any account although i have the exchange account already.
If i'm going to the mail app and on the body i choose attach photo or video - it's working but i must have the other way too.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Thanks.Have your IT folks check the profile for this account. There's a security setting:
Use Only in Mail
Send outgoing mail from this account only from Mail app
If that box is checked, you'll experience the behavior you're experiencing. -
Applications Hang when selecting / attaching a file using Spotlight
Hi,
Having a problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard with applications 'hanging' when trying to attach a file using Spotlight. I can repeatedly cause the failure in Mail and Safari - and probably others as well - but these two applications I use most often and need to attach files to most often.
When I select "Attach a file", and use Spotlight to find the file to attach, the file dialog box closes and the attachment is apparently made - seconds later the spinning wheel appears and the dock tells me "Application Not Responding."
Any ideas as to how / why this is happening? Help make it stop!
Thank you,
Gordon.OK Search box
Mine is OK so something is screwy..
In your Finder Prefs > Advanced > When performing a search drop down. Search this Mac seems to be default and the one I have set. Have you got it set to search the current folder or use the previous search instead?
I'd then pull out the com.apple.finder.plist from your user Library > Preferences to the desktop and let finder make a new one. If all is OK trash the old one.
Relaunch Finder by holding down the option key while right clicking Finder icon in the dock. Relaunch will be on the bottom of the context menu.

Battery draining when using Exchange account
Hi,
I'm currently using a iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4.3. I alos syncronize it with a MS Exchange account (manual).
For the last 3 months or so, my battery seems to drain. It seems as if the connection between the phone and the exchange server doesn't disconnect after I've been searching or scrolled in the contact list.
I've tried the following actions but with no effect:
- Rebooting the phone
- Restore to a new phone
- Uninstall the exchange account, reboot and install the account again (makes it work for a few days in best case)
- Close all open applications
- Set the sync between the phone and the exchange account to manual (also in advanced settings)
- Manually drain the battery to empty and after that charged to full
I would be very greatfull for any tips, hints etc since I have to use the phone in my work.
Kind Regards PelleMHere's a "me too" post. I'd love to hear if anyone makes headway with this. I am the outside Mac geek for a company that has an exchange server, mostly PCs and a handful of Macs and iPhones. All the iPhones are working like a champ save one on which the Mail application periodically stops working with the Exchange account. The calendar and contacts from the exchange account continue to sync just fine, but mail app will simply remain blank when the user clicks on the inbox.
I've been able to kill the account (on the phone) and re-setup and it'll work for 2-3 weeks and then one day simply stop. I've restored the iPhone to factory defaults twice now. This past time I've not restored the contents of the phone from a backup, but rather set it up as a new phone. We'll see if that makes a difference. I've also setup the Exchange mail account as an IMAP account as a backup. Other accounts continue to work just fine when this happens--it's just the Exchange mail account that flips out.
At any rate, if anyone has any additional info/experiences, please post as I'd be curious. I'm hoping this most recent reset will do the trick, but I'm not confident it will.
Cheers,

IWeb 08 hangs when selecting Albums
First, all the obigatory items have been performed; trashed preferences, run disk utility and restarted, even safeboot procedure.
When going into edit a web site, the iWeb software hangs whenever selecting in the Albums section, whether it be the home album or subsequent albums.
It is a easily reproducible hang and it is consistent. The more content you have in an albums page the longer iWeb will take to load it.
Some people put a lot of stuff in an album page and don't consider the fact that this page will take a long time to download from the internet and will probably lock up IE.
The maximum size I would use for an albums page is about 5MB on disk and this would be reduced by optimizing before upload. -
Hi,
I am using outlook 2013 and my exchange server is 2013 too.
I have a distribution group named "[email protected]" and my user "[email protected]" is moderator of this DL and i was able to add/remove members from this.
Now, I own one more exchange account as "[email protected]" and i configured the same in outlook 2013 as an exchange account and what i see is i am unable to edit the DL "[email protected]"
My default account in outlook is "[email protected]" still i cant edit the DL. As i delete the account "[email protected]" from outlook or configures it ([email protected]) as an IMAP i am able to moderate "[email protected]".
Any Clue ???
Error message :- "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object."
My Exchange server 2013 and outlook both are having latest updates installed. Thanks.I have configured second account as Exchange only in the same Outlook profile. I don't want to switch my profiles to operate the either the accounts.
Both the accounts are different and don't have any relevancy to each other. "[email protected]" and "[email protected]"
What i suppose is, "[email protected]" is having permissions on the DL "[email protected]"
but "[email protected]" dosent have it. So when i edit "[email protected]" outlook is
using "[email protected]" to edit it and not "[email protected]" -

IPhoto hangs when selecting trash
Hi there,
iPhoto is hanging when I click the trash button in the menu. Right or left click. Must force-quit to get out. Otherwise works fine. This did seem to help. I think the actual problem was this: when I upgraded my iPhoto library, it inserted thousands of small thumbnail duplicates into the trash. The trash folder was so big it took a while to read it. Now that I have been able to empty it, iPhoto works fine. Thanks!

Help....Mail goes crazy after update when using exchange account
Since I updated to 10.5.5 my exchange account goes haywire regularly. I was able to get it back up the last time it happened by moving to a IP address for my outgoing server, but this time nothing is working. Any suggestions????
Sry for beeing a bit unclear, still early in the morning :P
I´d try this:
go to ~/Library/Prefrence/ delete "com.apple.mail.plist", log out and back in again, launch Mail
Still dont work?
Go to Mail Prefrences/Accounts/ delete your account and set it up again -
CS6 hangs when selecting the pencil tool
CS6 hangs for about a minute when I select the pencil tool. Everything just freezes up and then after about a minute I'm good to go. I'm running Lion 10.7.3 with 12GB Ram.
You have "standard" set as your curser preference. To change it Edit<Preferences<Display and Cursors.

5.5 hangs when selecting objects
I run a mid-2010 Macbook Pro with Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz and 8gb RAM.
When I click on an object - image, text frame - or page in the Pages panel - there is a big spike in CPU usage (e.g. 3% to 60%) and the whole machine hangs for about 5 seconds before the frame indicates it has been selected. It doesn't do this in CS3 or CS4, and didn't do it in CS5.5 when I first installed it, but it did do it before I upgraded from 4 to 8gb RAM, and before I moved from Snow Leopard to Lion, so it doesn't seem to be an OS/memory problem.
I know there have been similar posts, e.g. http://forums.adobe.com/message/2885091, but none of the suggestions has worked. I have:
- turned off Preflight and Redraw
- rebooted
- re-installed the program
- reset preferences
- reformatted the hard disk and installed the new OS
- quit all other program, closed other ID docs, and ensured RAM and CPU were not overused
- kept at least 15gb free space on the startup disk
- tested it on large docs (200 pages, lots of images with complex effects) and on tiny ones (one page, one small text frame)
The behaviour remains about the same whatever I do.
Acrobat X has been even worse, e.g. selecting a page or opening a tab or even opening a drop-down menu takes 5-10 seconds. It has been like that since the first install, and re-installing has made no difference. (One day it worked well, but I couldn't figure out what I was doing different.) Acrobat 9 used to work fine, but now it is behaving like X.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.Well I'm pretty sure it did the same under Snow Leopard; Acrobat X was certainly just as bad.
I do happen to have EPSes (and PNGs) in the file I'm working on now as it's an imported Word doc created by someone else. But it does the same in docs with no images at all.
What would be the best way of converting the EPS files to .jpg? Bridge/Camera Raw doesn't seem to be able to convert them at all. Preview and Photoshop won't even open them, saying they can't parse the PostScript. I can do them outside Adobe by batch converting with Adapter or somesuch, but it breaks the links with the files so I'd have to spend ages relinking them.
By font management I assume you mean opening the .indd file from within a package containing a 'Document fonts' folder. I wasn't doing that most of the time but have just tried it now and it makes no difference. The current fonts I am using are:

Bookman Old Style

How do I check if they are corrupt?
Anyway, that wouldn't affect all documents would it, just ones using the corrupt fonts? -
Accepting calendar invites with 2 exchange accounts on iPhone?
My setup:
iphone 4S - 5.1.1
2 Exchange server accounts (1 home, 1 work).
When I get sent a calendar invite from Work, I accept it on my iPhone and it goes back to sender with my personal email address. How do I prevent this? It didn't use to do this, it would accept the calendar invite and return with the work email.
Help??When you accept the appointment, is it in your business calender or in the private one?
When it goes back, is it your e-mail-adress or the signature that is wrong (you know, only one signature for both accounts unless you update to iOS6, which can handle separate sigs for each acccount).
I recommend setting your business calender as default (Settings>Mail, contacts...>Calender>"Default" -
Outlook 2010 hangs when selecting a meeting invite
Sometimes when the users click on a meeting invite from a user from a different company (Full Trust between domains)Outlook shows the
"Searching for this meeting..." message and hangs. According to Microsoft this is just checking the conflicting appointments and this message should disappear after few seconds but it does not. The only way to recover outlook is to
end the outlook.exe task from the task manager. I have tried creating new outlook profile, new ost file or even a different computer but the issue remains. Can't find any solution on the net. Any help will be appreciated.
The email account is configured to use an Exchange server... and the computer is connected to a domain. The email is coming from a company which has full trust with our company's domain.Hi,
Does this issue occur on OWA?
If not, I would suggest we use the process monitor to see where does Outlook hung when opening the meeting request.
