Calendar in Mac OS 10.8.2

I wanted to remove the leather theme, so I applied the Fredrik Wiker tweak, "Mountain Tweaks" but forgot to back up Calendar. Tweak messed it up and it won't open now.
I can't seem to find a download link on Apple's support/download pages for iCal/Calendar.
How can I acquire Calendar 6.0 to overwrite the non-functioning one in my OS?
Thanks.

I would try first moving ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist to your Desktop and relaunching iCal.
To find your hidden ~/Library folder go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library".

  • How can I sync my calendar form mac to iPhone without having to use iCloud?

There used to an option called sync calendar under the summary of your iPhone on iTunes, but I could no longer find that option. I wouldn't really want to sync my calendar using iCloud because my calendar on iCloud is blank and I don't really want to retype everything again. Or is there any way I can sync my current calendar on mac to the one on iCloud?

I read the title. It has nothing to do with what the OP is really wants.
When replying in a helpful manner, one needs to read everything (the title and the entire post) and make an attempt to understand what they want.
The OP does not want to lose the library on the computer.
I will repeat it for you...
"I wouldn't really want to sync my calendar using iCloud because my calendar on iCloud is blank and I don't really want to retype everything again."
This line shows the OP does not understand how it works and also shows that the thread title is not really what the OP wants.
    gumsie wrote:
The post I've linked to tells him how to use a server to do it. Read that entire post too.
Why would the OP use a server when the OP is fine using iCloud to sync?
Indeed, the OP asks (in the same post even) how to sync using iCloud (which is in direct conflict with the thread title).
"is there any way I can sync my current calendar on mac to the one on iCloud?"
    PNWD!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately Office for Mac does not support the correct protocols to work with iCloud.

  • How to publish multiple calendars into .mac?

There doesn't seem to be an option to publish multiple calendars to .mac. Is ther ea way that I can have all my calendars in one ical (.mac) view? I don't want to have multiple ical pages online.
    thanks

There is no way to maintain separate source calendars on a Macintosh desktop or portable machine and publish a single, unified calendar using .Mac or a WebDAV server. It simply does not work that way.

  • Is it possible to export (synchronize) my entourage calendar to mac outlok 11?

Hi all I'd like to asl if there is it possible to export (synchronize) my entourage calendar to mac outlook 11?
Thanks very much in  advance for your comments

You might try following this tutorial in order to get a copy of your current library reduced to just those photos that are in your book and those that you want which would not be on your iMac: iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date. If you find you need photos from your iMac library you can use  iPhoto Library Manager to copy them via an album to the book library.
This will also allow you to save the library for use later on to order another copy of the book or make additional edits before ordering a second copy.

  • Since I down loaded Mavericks I can't sync calendars with iPhone. How can I sync iPhone calendar and Mac calendar

Since I downloaded Mavericks on my Mac I can't sync calendars with iphone. How can I sync iphone calendars with Mac calendar?

    Mavericks syncs Calendar via iCloud.
Make sure you have the same iCloud account set up on your mac and your iPhone.
In System Preferences > iCloud, make sure the Calendars checkbox is checked.
In System Preferences > Internet Accounts, iCloud should be an account in the box on the left, and Calendars should be checked in the box on the right. If you have other calendars, for example, from work, make sure those are enabled too.
Check the same settings on your iPhone: in Settings > iCloud, make sure the same iCloud account info is present and that the Calendars slider is on. in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, make sure the iCloud account is present, and that the Calendars slider is on.

  • No more "View Calendar on .Mac" ???

I am unable to find the feature called "View Calendar on .Mac" that existed in Tiger? Where is this now? I can't locate my cal on the web.
    David

    David,
where exactly are you control clicking?
It is apparent that we are not looking in the same location, or the contextual menu has changed between iCal 2.0 and iCal 3.0.
I am looking/clicking on the iCal application "Calendars" source pane.
Perhaps you can point me in the right direction. If you talking about the .Mac web page, I have never seen that choice in that location.
Try sending yourself a "Publish" email. Select the calendar and choose Calendar>Send Publish Email... That should present you with the proper format to use for viewing in any web browser. The email will list:
    1. You can view my calendar at:
    2. You can subscribe to my calendar at:

  • Publishing a calendar on .Mac through proxy connection

First time I've published my calendars with .Mac everything went smooth and iCal just asked the proxy authentication. The bad new is that we have to change proxy authentication every month and since I did it for the first time, iCal just gives me back an error and there seems to be no way to update the proxy authentication.
Of course I've updated the proxy login in the system preferences and all other applications work fine.
I've noticed that all the previous topics on this issue have been just archived without any solution.
    PowerBook G4 15" 1,67   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iBook G3 12" 500 - Mac Mini G4 1,25

After updating from 8.0.10. to 8.0.12 we experienced the same problem. We get the same message and the connection fails. We didn't have any problems with the Remote Desktop app before.
Fortunatly, If we restore the 'Microsoft Remote Desktop app' (the whole app folder in the programs folder of osx) to Version 8.0.10 from Timecapsule backup, the connection works without problems. Updating again to 8.0.12 -> The error message occurs again
    and connection fails.
Connection settings or other OSX-system updates or else were never changed/made during these update and restore tasks.
So there must be a significant authorization change made in the app from 8.0.10. to 8.0.12
We connect through a Microsoft RDS Gateway-Server which is collocated with the Windows RD Server 2008R2 Role. Connections to other Computers at the Company through the Microsoft RDS Gateway fail as well.

  • HT4796 Migrated Outlook Calendar to Mac

I have migrated my info from pc to mac.  I now have 2 Calendars (in Mac Outlook) titled 'Calendar-Outlook PST' and 'Calendar'. To avoid confusion I only want one Calendar in Outlook.  I've tried to export the information from the PST file into the (standard) Calendar but can only find an .olm file, not a .pst file.  The .olm only contains information I've added to Mac and not the migration information from the pc.  I've searched for the .pst file in finder but can't find it.  When you migrate it sets up a separate user so I suspect that's where the .pst file exists.  If anyone knows how I can export this info that would be great.  Cheers

I've found the same problem with Outlook 07. To begin with, nothing was going to Outlook from my iphone. For a few days, new appointments did sync but it is now not working again. Syncing works fine from Outlook to my iphone but at the moment I have to manually transfer appointments to Outlook which results in duplicate appointments on my iphone. Funnily enough, appointments from my iphone do appear in my "to do" list in Outlook. I think it's a case of waiting for an update from Apple to solve this problem.

  • Calendar on Mac will not sync post OS and iOS updates

Using iTunes (not the cloud) after the last up date to OS on the Mac and iOS on iPad and iPhone, Calendar syncs between iPad and iPhone but Calendar on Mac with not sync. I have check Preferences on all three and every calendar I have is checked off to sync.

After much fiddling with my Calendar I have resolved the problem:
    1. I exported all the calendars individually and saved them on your desktop
    2. Using an iOS device delete all the calendars on your iCloud account (you should be able to use iCloud.com in the same way)
    3. Now that your iCloud calendar is empty, import the calendars from your desktop one by one waiting for them to fully sync before doing the next one.
    4. Done!
*I discoverd that one of my calendars was corrupted and would not install, perhaps this was the problem? However I believe that it was because my calendars had too much content (multiple repeating events and sporting event subscriptions). I got rid of the sports ones (huge) it was very slow to upload, and I decided to slim that calendar down as it's not very important.
I personally think it's a calendar event overload problem, too much content for iCloud to handle. It would make sence because I had no problems with any other part of iCloud (reminders/notes...) and my iPhone calendar was fine (because it does not upload any old events, ie dramatically less content)  I hope this helps!

  • What is the best way to share calendars between Macs?

I have two macintosh computers in my house and I use one as the master for our family calendar in ical. I want both calendars in sync, with the second mac as the "copy"-no new data is added here.
My current method of "sharing" was to publish the files up to our web-server (not apple's) and then subscribe from computer #2 pointing to that web-server.
    Calendar-Publish-choose private server-and fill in the blanks-click-OK.
When my mac updated to 10.5.4, this method broke. I can no longer publish the files using ical, but I now have to FTP the files up to the web-server. This is a couple of extra steps that is becoming a headache.
File-Export (about 8 calendar files); open a terminal window; FTP the files up. Go to the other mac and Calendar-refresh all.
Is there a better way to share ical files between two macs in the same house without FTP-ing? Or is Apple going to fix this problem?

I set up ical synching through a google calendar and it works well. The benefit here is that you can see your calendar from a web browser when away from the house.
    Info in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7772872&#7772872
iCal should have a "share" option like itunes libraries for lans though. Odd that it doesn't.

  • How do I get Calendar on Mac to stop auto correcting the end time?

I input my work schedule into Calendar manually every week and I copy and paste one event to save some time. One annoyance I run into is when I'm altering the time from say, 10am-6pm, to 4pm-10pm. As soon as I switch the start time from am to pm, it automatically adjusts the end time to 10am on the following day. So then I have to go back and manually change it from an event spanning 2 days to an event that should only span 1 day.

    This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
    Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts.
