Calendar invitations

When i am invited to calendar events which are all day events they come through on my calendar as 12am to 12pm and then show up in my whole day.The invite says all day in my husbands diary. Any advice to change this so that my diary is clearer?

Try logging to appleid.apple.com and update your info..
Hope it works!

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • Is there a way to send mass Outlook calendar invites?

Our business is a subscription based business that has multiple service lines that hold a client only webinar each month. One of our service lines has found great success in terms of response and attendance sending out calendar invitations via Outlook.
However, these invites can only be sent out to 20-30 email addresses at once without being marked by spam filters.
    1. Is there a way to do this in outlook or a product that allows us to do this?
    2. Is there a way to do a "mail merge" of sorts for outlook invitations?
    3. I know we are able to do a mail merge and attach an .ics file, but correct me if I'm wrong, we aren't able to verify who added that to their calendar because the sending email address won't receive an accepted or declined response. It would be
nice to see who accepts as well because then we are able to cross reference our registration list and manually register those who may have just added the calendar request, but didn't go into the link to register for the conference--this also gives us collateral
    for sponsors.
Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • How do you stop a Task from creating a calendar invite?

In BH v2, when you create a Task with a due date, it sends a calendar invite to your inbox.
Q: How do you prevent the calendar invite from being sent?
    Cheers.

RSS only works if you configure it - the assigner cannot guarantee you have subscribed to the RSS feed - Notification by your preferred method is the only satisfactory way to guarantee delivery - assuming you have not disabled all notification paths - Bcentral can do this if you are sure you will be able to see anything assigned to you by other means.
Doing it this way opens you up to missing task assignments and meeting invitations so it is at your own risk.

  • How do i get calendar invites to open and update icloud calendar instead of my local outlook account?

I recently started using iCloud for my calendar and have installed the MS Outlook iCloud plug in, but whenever I receive calendar invitations in any of the mail accounts I have configured in Outlook, only my local calendar on my computer is being updated.   How do I set up Outlook to have incoming calendar invitations update my iCloud calendar?   I even tried opening the iCloud website, but all calendar items there also show up as .ics files, which automatically open in MS Outlook on my computer and again update only my local calendar (personal folders).   I also tried setting the default data file in MS Outlook to the iCloud data file, but when I did that, Outlook gives an error message advising against setting the iCloud calendar as the default.   I'm at a total loss and would GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone might be able to provide.    Thanks to all for your time!

    Hi Marknoon,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where you are unable to use iCloud calendars in Outlook, please follow the steps below, ensuring you follow them in order and testing after each step.
Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)
If you're having trouble with iCloud Calendar on a PC (with Outlook 2007 or later), try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Note: iCloud Control Panel does not support Outlook 2010 Personal Edition. When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual menu (right-click) has also been disabled.
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration supported by iCloud.
Make sure that your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel window. Learn about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Make sure that iCloud is not your default account in Outlook:
In Outlook 2013 and 2010, select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
In Outlook 2007, select File > Data File Management > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not updating on your other devices or vice versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Make sure that the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook. (Learn more about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook.)
    Outlook 2013 and 2010:
    Open Outlook 2013 or 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
    Outlook 2007:
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Note: When enabling Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook .pst file to iCloud, then remove the Calendars from the .pst file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Make sure that you're looking for your data within the iCloud folder in Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data. iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.

  • How do I stop receiving calendar invites on iCal/iCloud and use exchange 2013 calendar instead?

I Have an exchange 2013 email account which isn't registered as part of my iCloud account.
i Use my outlook calendar (exch) for work and the same exch calendar day to day from all my iOS devices.
when a colleague or outside email away from my company sends me a calendar meeting request, it works fine. (Using my exch email as the invite recipient).
my girlfriend sends me a meeting request from her hotmail account using the same exch email address for me, but he. Invites always arrive to my iCloud/iCal calendar instead! I can't seem to change it so I often miss diary notes or reminders unless I constantly look at both calendars.
i Just want to use exchange calendar and lose iCal (or if easier sync both iCal and exchange calendars vica versa - but that may be over complicating the issue, basically I just need one calendar and would rather it be my outlook exchange cal)
    any ideas?

    Hello again,
False alarm..... it didnt work sorry.
I removed the iCal accounts from my mac, and also from my iphone. Then when my partner sent me a calendar invite it simply didnt arrive at all!
She has a hotmail account installed on her IOS iphone 5.
She is sending the invite to my exch 2013 email address which is not associated with any icloud account.
My exch 2013 email is installed in both my Outlook for mac 2011 and IOS device Iphone 5s.
When I switch the iCloud Calendar back on in my iphone 5s, the invite comes through but ONLY optional to the icloud calendar. I cannot seem to get it receiving on my default calendar which is set to Exchange 2013 account.
Its very strange as its only her invites that do this. Anyone else's come through on my exchange calendar because its the same email address receeving it my end.

  • Calendar invites going to email not iCal

My family relies heavily on calendar invites, it's how we all sync our schedules and know what's going on when, who needs to be where, etc.  Several months ago when sending an invite to my daughter from my Outlook calendar she was no longer receiving the invites to accept.  I found a work around of sending the inviteto her iCloud.com address instead of her outlook.com address.  When sending an invite to her iCloud email the event would automatically pop up in her phone calendar inbox (she would get an audible alert and the red 1 circle would show up on her phone calendar), she could accept and the event would then be on her calendar.
Fast forward a few months, I got an invite from my husband to my gmail.com accnt as always and instead of allowing me to decline or accept via email on my phone like it always had, the invite shows up in my email as a mime-attachment.ics attachment.  In the past I could accept the invite, but it goes to my gmail calendar which I never use and not my iPhone calendar.  The event doesn't show up on my iPhone calendar, but I will get a reminder from gmail on my phone at the time the event is due (which is not helpful, I need the events on my phone calendar, not my gmail calendar.  I don't even know how to view my gmail calendar and I need to know of appointments before they're due).  I've always used my gmail account on my phone and it is also my apple ID.  There must have been an update somewhere along the way where things changed.  So, I created an iCloud.com accnt and when my husband sends the invite from his Outlook on his laptop to myiCloud.com address it's still going to my email and not my calendar on my phone.  Now, when I click on the attachment to accept it closes out my email and takes me to my home screen.  I know that my phone calendar is working.  If I add events via my laptop in Outlook they will sync to my phone.  And if my older kids send me a calendar invite from their iPhones, it will pop up in my iPhone calendar and I can accept and the event goes onto my phone calendar. I need to know how/where people who do not have an iPhone should send me invites so they show up in my iPhone calendar. I have an iPhone 5S with IOS 8.1.

Any help out there?  All I use is Apple, need Google calndar to go away...

  • Not receiving icloud calendar invites or calendar sharing

I am so sorry to bring this up but I have gone through discussion after discussion and nothing seems to be working for me! This is the first time I have ever posted so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My apple ID is a hotmail.com account and it is no longer receiving calendar invites or invites to share a calendar. They worked perfectly up until around the end of January 2013 as far as I can see so this appears to be a problem that has appeared in the last couple of weeks
I have tested it with some friends and it appears that some of my invitations are working when I send them out but it appears to be hit & miss (Last night I invited someone to share my calendar and they received the invite- when they invited me I did not receive anything)
I have changed my password on appleid so it meets the new security guidelines,
I have checked my appleid to ensure that there are no other unverified e-mail addresses linked to my account,
Both my iphone and ipad have had the latest updates (iOS 6.1.2)
I have changed my appleid to a different hotmail address and then changed it back to the original one and the invites did not work.
I have logged into icloud.com on my PC but no new invites have appeared on there.
Syncing of my calendar, reminders, safari and contacts etc is still working fine between my iphone and my ipad.
Please let me know if any more detail is needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Issues with calendar invites from Outlook address that come to my gmail on iPhone

I have been trying for HOURS to get to the bottom of this iPhone calendar invite problem I'm having. I'll try to summarize.
I LOVE iCal and I want to continue using it. Though I have a personal mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I don't use it too much (my company functions solely on Windows). I almost exclusively use my iPhone 4S for calendar purposes. Yes, my calendar is synced up to iCloud. I have a gmail account as my primary apple ID and my mail account on the iPhone is synced with gmail. I've been very annoyed lately as I have been receiving a lot of calendar invites from a friend who has Outlook, and I cannot accept or decline when I received her invite. The events are added to my calendar, grayed out.
After much research, I realized that I had to setup my gmail account as an Exchange account on my iPhone, which I did. I then sent myself a test invite from Lotus Notes, and low and behold, I can now accept and decline!
..but I am VERY particular about my calendar organization, and I want to be able to choose which calendar the event is added to; however, it is added to my exchange (gmail) calendar, I guess because it was received on the gmail server. I want my calendar invites to be received on my ios device calendar! I don't know if having people use my .me account would help, but I don't want to tell everyone to change the email address to which they send me notifications, because I want to continue to receive mail at my gmail account (like the many calendars, I have many folders there and have everything set up the way I want it).
I get emails concerning work, events, tennis matches, etc via my gmail account, and I want to sort them to the correct calendar when the invite comes to my gmail while STILL maintaining the functionality to accept and decline invites.
    Is this a crazy question?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • Exchange calendar invitations accepted in IOS remain "new" in iCal

My work calendar and email is based on Exchange. I manage both from a Mac (using Outlook 2011 for Mac) and an iPhone 5 running IOS 7.latest.
It works just fine. If I accept an invitation on any platform is is accepted on all. Then I look at OSX Calender (which I will refer to as iCal) and I still see a mass of invitations (the ones that I accepted on my phone or using Outlook).
I use iCal because I share calendars with the rest of my family using iCloud. So that I can view my work and home calendars in one place, I have also set up iCal to see both iCloud and Exchange calendars.
The iCloud side of the house does what I want it to do. The problem comes with the way iCal deals with calendar invitations from my Exchange account. Here goes:
I receive an Exchange calendar invitation.
I process it (accept/tentative/decline) using Outlook on the Mac or the IOS Calendar on my iPhone.
The invitation on the device I didn't use goes away.
    I open iCal.
The "new" invitation is still there in iCal waiting to be processed, the only way to clear it is to accept/tentative/decline it.
I cannot find any setting to prevent this from happening. iCal seems to ignore changes in status of Exchange invitations.
Any ideas gratefully accepted! Thanks, Charlie

have had what I think is similar issue.... on both ipad and iphone.  Running IOS6.  Have gmail account setup through exchange connector.  IOS receives and accepts invites just fine from external devices....  If i create a new invite on the IOS device and add invitees with external email addresses, once this calendar invite is saved into the diary it doesnt trigger invites to go out to those 3rd parties... but the invite definitely is in the calendar as can also see it on mast google calendar.
If I then go and move the timing of the invite that has been created on the IOS device (by holding down and dragging to new time) this then immediately triggers an invite (new Invitiation, not reschedule) to be sent to the external email addresses...  any further modification to timing of invite then triggers 'reschedule' calendar invites to go out - so expected behaviour.
The issue is that IOS is not triggering the invite to go out to external parties who have been added to a newly created invite - and it only does this when the date/time of the invite is modified.
Spent about 1.5 hrs on phone to apple support yesterday - they have now passed on to 3rd level support....
Are others seeing the same behaviour as above?

  • ICloud calendar invites not sent

When a friend sends meeting invitations, they appear not to ever arrive at the recipient.
I've been doing some research to work out why, and found a lot of discussion that basically says: if the recipient's email address is associated with an iCloud account, iCloud will always deliver the meeting request to their iCloud account (when really it should go to their email!)
For example, my email address at Gmail is associated with my iCloud account so I never receive the invited as I don't use iCloud mail. My business address which is on my own domain and not associated with an iCloud account, receives invites just fine.
Apparently there is a tickbox in iCloud settings which says to deliver the message rather than 'notifying' the user, which is meant to fix it, but this would mean my friend would have to get all of his recipients to do this! A bit ridiculous.
People appear to have been complaining about this issue for a couple of years - I can't believe Apple still hasn't changed this situation.
Unless anyone here begs to differ and knows another way around it?

To follow up on my experience, back around Nov 1st when I originally posted, I had already combed through all the findable threads of related errors and one-by-one determined none of them were applicable to my scenario. Nonetheless, I went through the step of terminating my calendars and recreating them and so forth. All that effort had no effect.
    Fast forward.
While I'm not a believer in magic, I noticed sometime around Nov 27th (or thereabouts), my calendar invites were suddenly being sent. Perhaps then there is hope for others in my situation. I am confident nothing changed on my side, so perhaps Apple made some silent updates in the cloud that sorted out the issue. In any event, I wanted to report that it suddenly started functioning as desired with no action on my part.

  • Cannot receive calendar invites in iCal

Since upgrading to iOS 7, when my wife (who uses iCloud with an @outlook.com address) sends me a calendar invite, it comes to me (using an @icloud.com address) as an email rather than a notification to my iCal app, on any device. When I accept the event, it won't add to iCal either. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

I Used to able to accept events from outside the iCloud world and add them automatically to the calendar.
    NOw nothing.

  • How can I delete a spam calendar invitation without replying?

    OS X 10.9.4, Calendar version 7.0 (1841.1)
I have a spam calendar invitation. I am pretty sure it did not come through email, since I can't find any email message in inbox, junk, trash, or anywhere else, with any content that matches this spam event.
Besides, "Add new invitations to Calendar" has been set to "Never" all along.
How can I get rid of this invitation without sending a reply to the spammer?
One suggestion I read is to move it to a local "on my mac" calendar first. I don't have any such calendar, and can't see a way to create one!

You might try just selecting the event and pressing the delete key.  You would normally get a prompt with the option to delete without notifying:

  • Calendar invites are not showing up in the Calendar Inbox

Calendar invites from Google Calendar are not showing up in the iPhone Calendar Inbox.  They do show up in the actual iPhone calendar (greyed out waiting for a response) but if you are managing multiple invites it's very important to view the invites especially if dealing with multiple invites on different days.  This is affecting users with Iphone4, 4s and 5 on multiple iOS's.

Sorry for the late reply, it is still an irritating issue.  Apple says it's Google's poblem.  Google thinks it's Apple's issue.  Extremly irritating.
I tried setting up the Calendar using the Exchange presets but that did not solve the invitation problem.

  • Forwarding Exchange calendar invites from calendar app not working

We have Samsung Windows 8 phones and have discovered a problem with forwarding calendar invitations from within the calendar app on Exchange 2010 / ActiveSync.
User A on Exchange 2010 will create a new meeting request and send it to user B. User B will accept the calendar invitation on their Windows 8 phone. User B will then go into the calendar app on their phone and forwards the calendar item to User C. User
C does not receive anything nor does User A receive a notification that their original meeting invite has been forwarded. No error messages are shown on User B's phone. It's as if the forwarded item simply vanishes.
With the same scenario as above, if User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A and instead immediately forwards the invite to User C from within the MAIL app on his phone, before accepting the meeting, User C receives the invitation
as per normal and User A receives notification that their meeting request was forwarded, as expected.
If User B does NOT initially accept the meeting invite from User A, but then goes into the calendar app on their phone and attempts to forward the meeting request (showing as tentative as they have not accepted it yet), User C still does not receive anything
and User A does not get notification.
This appears to be a bug within the Calendar application on Windows 8 phones as forwarding meeting invites works fine from within the Mail app (provided the user has not accepted the meeting yet - once the meeting has been accepted in the mail app, the item
"disappears" and is no longer accessible except from within the Calendar app).
This is a pretty major issue with heavy calendar users (e.g. executives) as they will be forwarding accepted meeting requests from their calendars and without receiving any error messages will assume the forwarded invitation has gone through, when in fact
    it hasn't.

We have reproduced this issue internally and are filing a bug to get this issue fixed.  As soon as we have an update to this, we will report back on this thread.  Thank you for raising this issue.

  • Why does calendar invite .ics have wrong Organizer?

When I receive a calendar invite from an Icloud user into my Outlook on Windows, I click the Accept button in the email which takes me to an Icloud page showing that I accepted.  It has the correct Organizer (person who sent invite) and invitee (me) on the page. I click to download the .ICS file so it will go into outlook's calendar, but when it comes through, it has me as the Organizer.  Why is this?  The problem is if a change comes through, it won't match up since the meeting isn't being setup correctly to begin with.
Am I missing something in the process?
    Thanks
