Calendar iphone deleting events and changing times

My iPhone calendar is synced with my google calendar.  I haven't had a problem adding or changing events in either until recently.  Lately events in my calendar have disappeared or changed their times.  (Ex: I know I added an event to my calendar via my phone a week ago for yesterday.  Yesterday I was left in a panic because it had deleted itself from my calendar.  Today my child's parent conference time was changed in my calendar to an hour earlier than I set it for.)
Any suggestions to fix the issue?

I had already checked the time zone and it is correct.  The time zone wouldn't delete appointments from the calendar anyway, would it?

  • [iPhone] Touch event and countdown timer

    Hi all,
in my app I want to have a uilabel in my mainview which displays a countdown from a chosen number of seconds. This shouldnt be too hard. But now comes the clue. I only want the timer to start the countown when there are no touch events at all. So every time the user clicks a button, changes to a different view or does anything else the timer should start counting down from the begining again.
    How would you do this?
How do I termine if there is a touch event anywhere in the app?
    Do I use NSTimer?
Thanks for taking your time and making thoughts!

From what you've said, you are going to decrement a variable every second unless the user does something on the screen, right? If so...
Create your variable and set it to the starting value, say, 10 seconds.
Set up your timer to call a given method (@selector:myCountdownMethod) every second.
The method should decrement the counter every time it is accessed (i.e. every second), then update your UILabel. It should also handle what happens when the counter hits zero.
Next, your touchesBegan method should simply set the counter value back to its original starting value, i.e. 10. The timer will still trigger every second and decrement the counter, it'll just never hit zero unless the user doesn't do anything for 10 seconds.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT1933 When I updated my Iphone 4 with itunes. It deleted songs and changed my ringtones. How do I replace my lost songs and stop this from happening again. Thanks :)

When I updated my iphone 4 with itunes. it deleted songs and changed my ringtones. How do I stop this from happening in the future and get my songs replaced?

You have POP mail account.   That's how those types of email accounts work.
You want an IMAP type of account, where if you delete on phone, it will also delete on server.   Should you ever restore your device again it will only update the mail that hasn't been deleted.
You didn't say which email service you use, but try contacting them to see if they offer IMAP.  Or you can switch.

  • Entourage: "Event and computer time zones do not match."

Since installing the latest update to the Mac OS (10.4.6) I have a glitch with Entourage (Office 2004 for Mac v. 11.2.3) and I believe it has something to do with the Mac OS. See below for explanation:
When adding a new calendar event to the calendar, I get an error which reads:
"Event and computer time zones do not match. In Calendar views, the event time is adjusted to display correctly." This is not true. I've checked the time zones in both my OS and Entourage and that is not the problem.
It must have to do with how it interacts with the latest update of the Mac OS. I had not updated software on my laptop for a while, and it did not exhibit this error, so as a test, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Office and tested Entourage: no error message. To be sure, I restarted the computer and tried again: no error. Then I downloaded and installed all of the latest updates to the Mac OS using Software Update: I got the error. So, I think the problem is the interaction between the latest update of Office 2004 for Mac and the latest Mac OS or maybe even just something in the Mac OS.
There are plenty of people complaining about this on the newsgroups at Mactopia. I'm not sure who needs to repair this problem - Apple or Microsoft, but does anyone know if there will be a patch issued by Microsoft to fix the problem? Or maybe my assessment is wrong and you have another solution?
Thanks very much for your help with this problem.

I am in Ohio (eastern time) and I am also having this problem. It is not annoying but my problem is I am not able to schedule any meeting on Entourage. (It will not show if the person I am inviting is busy or not). They use the Exchange server in my company, and I read on the microsoft site that public folders and hence the calendar items are not synced. But seems like this page is for Office X and not 2004. Any clues? Is the time error related to me not able to schedule meetings? I am using latest 10.4 and Entourage 2004.

  • How to prevent calendar from deleting dates and times from event names?

Calendar automatically discards date and time information from titles of new events. For example, creating a new event with the text "Staff Meeting 9 a.m. board room" leaves only "Staff Meeting". Calendar discards the "9 a.m. board room" information without asking. This feature is not helpful to me. How do I disable it?

  • Editing a calendar event always changes time zone to CDT

Whenever I create a calendar event in my iPhone or iPad, it is always created with a time zone of "New York".  It always syncs to my other devices and displays them correctly.   However, whenever I edit the event on another device, it always brings the event up in a time zone of "Chicago" and the times are one hour earlier.
For example, I create an event on my iPhone that starts at 11;00am and defaults to the time zone of "New York".  This is what I want.    However, if I try to edit the event on my iPad, it shows the event starting at 10:00am and the time zone is "Chicago".
This was a problem when I had an iPhone 4s using iOS6 and iOS7.    I now have an iPhone 6 on iOS8, and am still having the same problem.
    Any ideas?

I was wondering if anybody else has run into this problem.   I've tried everything and cannot figure out how to solve this.

  • Iphone subscribed calendar - basic authentication, events and timezone

    hi,
i'm attempting to use the subscribed calendar feature in iOS and having problems.
1st issue: i've put an ics file that regularly gets updated on an at a web location that is basic authentication protected. Inside the subscribed Calendar settings there is a place to put username and password. When i click "Done" and iOS tries to verify the information, i get a popup saying "account requires a username and password"... I know basic authentication works and the username and password are correct because i've tested via browser and very simple passwords e.g. 123.
2nd issue: I do work with people in other timezones and so i frequently get meeting requests from people in other timezones. In the ICS file i can see this information is published appropriately. e.g.
    DTSTART;TZID="Romance Standard Time":20110510T170000
    DTEND;TZID="Romance Standard Time":20110510T183000
If I import this ics file into google calendar, the timezones are read appropriately and the meetings are scheduled accordingly. in the example above, the meeting shows up as being at 8am - 9:30am.
on iOS the timezone is completely ignored. so i get the meeting showing up as 5pm - 6:30pm.
I've tried fiddling with the "Time Zone support" option in settings, but this does nothing.
Help on the issues above is greatly appreceiated. Personally I'm extremely frustrated with this.
    Thanks

...Thought I would keep alive the question about incorrect times for appointments created in other time zones on subscribed calendars. I believe this other thread -- https://discussions.apple.com/message/17318550#17318550 -- is asking about the same issue.
I am experiencing the same issue, including the setting for Time Zone Support having no impact, with iOS 6.
Any whiff of a solution yet?

  • How do I stop my iPhone highlighting events dates any times?

How do I stop my iPhone highlighting events, dates and times in web pages, notes and just about anything I do with text. I'm sure I have seen the setting somewhere. But can't find it now despite looking hard for it. I don 't see it in the iPhone manual either. Even worse than the existence of this intrusive highlighting is it's light yellow link colour that makes the text difficult to read.

Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> change the Sync setting in the Calendars section to All Events.

  • Calendar shows deleted events

I have always synced my iphone calendar with Outlook 2010 calendar. Ever since upgrading my iphone software to iOS 7.1, the iphone calendar shows events that were long since deleted from Outlook calendar (I have since also upgraded to 7.1.1 and the problems continues). There are enough of these that it would be a pain to go through the phone and delete again and makes the iphone calendar near impossible to use as I cant tell what has been deleted in Outlook and what is still a true appointment. I have tried erasing and resyncing the iphone calendar several times, including the Advanced option of replacing information on the iphone with information "currently" on the computer. Any assistance with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

This is odd. Turned off Push overnight and when I turned it on this morning - all my calendar entries were there and syncing both ways - ie from phone to exchange (outlook) and back again.
The only things I did - were as follows:-
Auto Archived my Inbox to shrink it down - dont know if the size was an issue. May have had an positive effect with Conatacts and Calendar too.
Turned off Push and Fetch was set to manual overnight - turned back to Push - and all was well in the morning. I only did this as I did not want my phone beeping through the night.
The only thing I would say it took a lot of hours for this to be fully sync'd for the first time. I got mail downloaded/syncing in a about an hour or so of downloading and cant connect screens popping up - but let it carry on and it did no problem - turned off Autolock whilst this was happening.
Overnight the contacts sync'd. Then last night (3rd Night) doing as I did above the calendar syncs.
Now when I add or delete mail, calendar contacts - it syncs straight away, so it may have been my server taking time to download all the info in the first place - espicially as I dont have a Wi-Fi network - it would have been doing this via the cellular connections - just my guess.
I hope this helps people having similar problems.

  • Blackberry and changing time zones

Is there a way to make the Blackberry change according to local time zone?  my other cell phones got the time from the carrier's system, and if i changed time zones the phone would display the local time it got from the tower.  But the Blackberry stays on it's original time, regardless of where I am.
    Steve

No, you can't change that. BlackBerrys do not automatically change with the timezone.
There are valid reasons for that, regarding the calendar and the way it adjusts the times of scheduled meetings.
