Calendar keeps erasing my alerts

Recently, whenever I add an alert to a calendar event, be it 1 day or 30 days out, the calendar promptly erase that reminder. I open up the even a minute later and the alert is gone. Sometimes I get a flash of it before it vanishes. For events that already have alerts, I cannot modify them. I make the change, but upon reopening the event details, they've been reset.
Anyone else having this issue? Better yet, a fix?

Unlinking my phone from the account didn't help, but removing the account from my Macbook Air and then adding it again using the manual CalDav settings got everything working again.
Edit: Okay, the fix isn't sticking. It worked until I closed the calendar app and opened it again. Upon starting it up, the behavior has returned to erasing my alerts...

Are you syncing your phone with iTunes and then with iCloud? This can cause duplicates. Sync with one or the other, but not both.

This is the same issue that has plagued me for years. I always thought that this was a Flash plugin issue, but it does occur on HTML5 as well. A friend of mine verified that this does not occur in Linux, but only on Windows. It would be great to have this fixed, as it's honestly the only thing that's making me use Chrome all the time, as I don't want to have multiple browsers open.

Why does my iPhone keep erasing events in Calendar? When an event is about a month old, it's erased. They're kept in iCal, but I'd really like to keep them on my iPhone, too.

Go to Settings>Mail,Calendars,Contacts, scroll down to Calendars section and set Sync to a longer time period.

I've also read that disabling the email alerts in gmail would also help (since I use 3 gmail calendars in addition to my icloud calendar). Any ideas on how I might fix this issue?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Is there a way to exclude specific calendars from Notifications and alerts?

I have 4 calendars: 1 Exchange and 1 Yahoo that includes 2 shared calendars (wife and MIL). I activate the Yahoo calendars only when I need them and do not need any yahoo reminders at all. When I swipe down the Notifications page, it includes all four calendars including the shared Yahoo calendars. What's worse, I get alerts from all four calendars.
I only want Exchange alerts and notifications. Is there a way to exclude the Yahoo calendars from Notifications and alerts?
Right now, the only way I can eliminate them is by deactivating the Yahoo account in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Is there a way to only choose specific contacts from an existing group and add to a new group?
I mean there has be a faster way than typing everybody by hand..

Calendar malfunction - calendar keeps freezing and displaying text I copied for another purpose - any advice?

My 6-month old macbook air's calendar keeps freezing up. when I open calendar, it displays across the top of the calendar some text I copied for another purpose and which I pasted into a word document yesterday. When this happens there's nothing I can do to escape it -- all commands result in the "thud" tone. So I keep having to force quit calendar.

My default google calendar keeps hiding itself

Since I got my iPhone 5 (and iOS 6) my default google calendar keeps hiding itself in spite of me manually selecting it to be shown with the rest of my google calendars in the Calendar app. Seems like an iOS 6 bug.

Google Calendar and iOS 7 are certainly not incompatible. I've been using multiple Google calendars on my iPhone and 2 iPads since iOS 7 was released.
Have you restored your devices as new rather than from back up? If all else fails, you could always try using a different calendar app. Sunrise or Fantastical are both quite nice.

Put iPod Touch icons into folders and organized all my apps. iTunes keeps erasing them.

Hi Everyone
   New iPod touch owner. I arranged my icons into folders for all my apps. But everytime I connect to iTunes it erases all my folders. And moves all my icons around. Anyway to tell iTunes or the iPod to not keep erasing all my folders and not to move all my icons around after I have organized them in the way I want.

Hello Everyone,
    I finally figured it out. Did not know you had to be connected to iTunes and then you can drag icons around, put them into folders, delete any apps you do not want on your iPod Touch and more from within iTunes.
    When you done doing what you want, then iTunes syncs your changes to your iPod Touch. And your apps, icons, folders, will all be the same on your iPod Touch as they appear in your iTunes Library.

I have a MacBook Air OS X, Version 10.7.5 and when open my Apple Calendar, I get the alert "encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct. Anyone? The error message comes very often but my calendar DOES still work.

I went to System Preferences; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; Under my mail address I unchecked "Calendars and Reminders" then rebooted the system. When it restarted I went back and checked "Calendars and Reminders" again and now it is working again.
