Calendar links in texts, emails

Whenever I receive a text message or an email that contains a reference to a day or time, the phone creates a link to my calendar for that day/time. Is there a way to turn off this feature? It's very easy to accidently tap on the link while scrolling through the message and I don't need a calendar entry every time my friends tell me what they did on Friday night.

Not in Firefox. All links take you to the thread, not the relevant post.

When I create email link the text disappears

I don't produce websites but I make edits as needed if not too complex. I know this is probably beyond simple but I'm not getting it. I'm trying to create an email link on client contact page. I type in [email protected] Preview in browser. Fine. I highlight the email address. Go to create email button link. Preview in browser. The link is now there but the text is invisible. I'm using DW in CS5. Delete the line. Put the cursor where I want it. I select create email link and type in link name and the email address which are both the same ([email protected]). Not working.
Update: Googled how to make email link in DW and followed the instructions. Everytime I make a link the text becomes invisible but the link work.

A wild guess: Your link color is white on a white background. Or your link color is black on a black background. Link colors are usually contained in the sitewide CSS. Without a URL to your problem page, it's impossible to comment further.

My published calendar is blank when I click the link from the email. What am I missing?

I have published my calendar and sent an email with the info, but when I click on the link the calendar is blank.
Any ideas so that my husband can see my calendar at his work computer?

Opening Gmail Calendar links

When I get an email that includes an "Add to Calendar" link, it always goes to Google calendar. Is there a way to make these links go to my Apple Calendar instead?

No. Depends on the text document. Most text documents open up in TextEdit.
Wow, saving each document you click on really clutters space on the macbook
Then trash the document after you read it.

Text/Email notifications won't clear

I was having issues with my text/email notifications not clearing on the dock and was told I had to do a factory reset. So i did that and I was still having the problem after i set my phone up again. I found that once I went into the Developer Options and chose the option "Do not keep Activities," so I unchecked that box and it fixed the problem once i got a new message or restarted the phone and haven't had that problem since.

I have already checked 'no' to all emails, which is NOT what I want. If there are more comments to my questions, I would like to see them, but there is no option for that. I have 2349 emails, certainly not related to MY question. (And I am NOT shouting... trying to make a point.
How can I keep up with what is going on in the Apple Support Community if I say NO to all of the emails?
And why can't we copy or cut & paste here????? If one copies or cuts it won't allow paste. It gives only options ot insert links & such???
How do you people keep up with this community IF you don't get a gazillion emails?

My iPhone 5 is not pushing through notifications properly. The screen lights up but there is no sound alert or banner it may or may not be followed by a sound alert and / or banner or the sound alert may come twice even after the text/ email/ app notification has been checked. Or the banner notifications are being pushed through hours after I have checked the emails. I have checked the notification setting and all is in order and software is up to date as well. Called apple support but they want to charge me even to comment on what the problem could be related to! Pl help!

Buying a bundle doesn't mean that your device will work aborad you need to make sure roaming is enabled on your account.
If you have a EE extra plan you still need to make sure roaming is enable on your account your plan only gives you free/cheaper calls when abroad.
If your wanting to enable roaming on your account there could be a deposit to pay if you haven't had the device for about 6 months.
Unless you have paid the deposit then roaming is not enabled on your account.
You need to activate roaming on your account by calling 150 from your device or from a landline 01707 315000 before you leave the UK.
But you can still do this if you are abroad.
If you have had the device/contract for 6 months or over you can login to your online account and turn on roaming yourself
Manage this device>Usage controls>Roaming abroad - Allow and Call abroad and turn it on. If the option is not there you need to call
It can take 24 hours to activate
If you had this device/contract for under 6 months you need to call customer services on +44 7953 966250 from a landline.

Everytime i click on a link in my email in opens in the same tab, before the update it would open in a seperate tab like i wanted it to. Can someone please help

for instance when i get an email from amazon regarding a special sale, i open the email in outlook and when i would click on a picture or a link it would would automatically open in another tab and allow me to check the rest of my emails in my current tab, now however it opens in the same tab as outlook it doesnt switch almost like when you are searching something on google and the link you choose loads in the same tab which is fine, but this is not, i dont want to have to press the back button to get back into my logged account!!

I don't have that problem in Firefox 29 when I read Gmail or AOL (aim''.''com) webmail. When I click on a webpage link in an email I'm reading (example: http://www.tworivertheater.org/ ) the link opens in a separate Firefox tab.
Are you saying this doesn't happen in outlook''.''com webmail and the link opens in the same Firefox tab as the email itself? I don't use outlook''.''com webmail myself. Hopefully someone will be along who does, or see [[Problems with email and how to find help]].
It might help if you would confirm the type of link that is opening in the same tab as the email you are reading in your outlook webmail. If I misunderstood your problem, please explain it better.

I had FB working again two days ago, and yesterday in mid-serve Safari just "couldn't find the server" once more...
That's a different issue...
First, if you can just use English, open System Preferences > Language & Text then select the Language tab. Drag English to the top of the list then restart your Mac.
Now for the server issue. Try using Open DNS. That shold help the "couldn't find the server" issue...
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Click +
Enter these numbers exactly as you see them here.
208.67.222.222
Click +
208.67.220.220
Then click OK.
Try accessing Facebook on Safari now.

The links in aol email do not work - how do I enable them?

I am using the aol toolbar for firefox and none of the links in the emails work.

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic. 
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button). 
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink. 
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each.

Cannot answer that question. That is a decision made by Apple.

I am developing windows phone 8.1 silverlight app where I want to share Images,Links and text to Social Networking App Like Facebook,Twitter,Whatsapp and Instragram.
In Share content contains A Image of App Icon, A Link of App website and I invitation Text.

You cannot control what appears in the share UI. The Share UI Will show all applications that have registered to receive the type of content you are sharing. So if a particular application is not appearing, then it is not registered as a Share
target for that content type.
I would run the sample on your phone for the various content types. it should give you a good idea of which apps are registered for which content type.

OnMouseOver Calendar Link Tooltip

Hi,
I would like to use the above on a calendar region so when a user hovers over the event for a day, they will see the text associated with the event as a tool tip. I have this working for a report column link which has the Link Attribute field to put something like onmouseover="ALERT_DETAIL(this, '#ALERTS_ID#')" . However, the URL link for a Calendar Text link does not have the Link Attribute field in the Calendar definition to accomplish this.
Is there some way of getting the functionality that works with report column links to work with calendar links?

In the Apex example application seccion I saw this functionality.
The apps containing this example is "Ask the expert".

Problem with plain text trailers in rich text email?

I'm a member of a mail group which adds subscribe and unsubscribe trailers added to the emails. When reading these emails with Mail 2.1.1, text emails appear fine. But sometimes html emails that have the text trailer have problems.
The text trailer (which is within a pre html tag) often has and equal sign "=" and "return" which brings the links on two lines. The placement of the extra characters is random... The html of the problem emails look fine when downloaded as a file and viewed with a browser (and the code is fine too)
I see this problem ONLY from group html emails that have a plain text trailer.
Comments or thoughts?

You send out your alerts - including important security and privacy alerts - in multipart/alternative format. But the plain text portion is blank! I want plain text email. Can you please fix whatever is broken and sending the plain text half incorrectly. Thanks,

Welcome to Apple Discussions
Go to Preferences > Auto-Correction & turn off Automatically detect email and web addresses. This will not "fix" any that have already been made into links, but it will prevent new ones. You will have to manually fix existing ones. You can cut the text & then re-paste using Paste & Match Style. Also use Paste & Match Style when pasting in anything with a link such as an e-mail or web page content.
