Calendar merge

How do I merge my individual iCloud calendars into one iCloud calendar

This is great information. When someone sends you a meeting request, does your iCloud calendar accept it with the reminder?
Outlook will always put meeting requests in its default calendar, iCloud will not be the default so no.

  • Spam alert: iCloud Calendar merge problem

Last night, I updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5. I selected the iCloiud option for, amongst other things, my Calendar.
This morning, it appears that anyone who invited me to a meeting in 2011 received spam telling them that I had accepted. I think they were all for past meetings, but I'm not sure. I'm also not positive about it just being 2011, but I didn't notice anything earlier than January (many of these notes went to another account I use).
Now, I am totally-afraid to use iCloud Calendar Merge, although it would be a great tool for me if I could also enable it on my MBAir.
Is there a known problem, here, being resolved?
    Thanks,
    g

Thanks for the advice, It sounds like a work-around. Unfortunately, at this point, I'm too worried about re-spamming everyone and think iCloud has too many limitations to take up the battle again.
iCloud seems to work well for simple lists, like Safari Bookmarks. I suppose that's something. Apple tends to stay on the simple side of non-core software (just good enough to say they have it), so I'm not expecting the situation to change much.
Another area I wish they'd beef up is Reminders. Appigo's To Do is way better, but it means a separate sync operation that only works wirelessly. Given it's syncing with iCal, you'd think there'd be a better answer. Outlook is richer, but synchronization was ugly, last time I used it.

  • IPhone Calendar - merging two calendars and connecting with Google

I've spent all morning trying to sync my iPhone Calendar with Google Calendar. I've synced it with CalDav but in the process it seems to have created a new calendar on the iPhone and hasn't synced any of my original iPhone calendar entries onto Google. Can I merge the two calendars on iPhone?
Also I'm not sure how the two calendars communicate with each other. Do they just sync when I connect my phone to my computer or can I make them communicate whilst not connected? I'd rather they didn't connect permanently as I understand this drains the battery.

If you are having trouble syncing your iPhone 5s with Google calendars, here is a solution that worked for me. I do not use gmail, so following Googles instructions did not work.
Tap Settings on the Home Screen.
    Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account.
    Choose Other.
Tap Add CalDAV Account under Calendars.
Type "https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user" (substitute your email, and without the quotation marks).
For user name, enter the email address that you use to sign in to Google.
    Enter your Google Calendar Password.
Enter "Google Calendar" in the description field.
    Tap Next at the top.
If you get an SSL error, click Advanced and make sure SSL is On.

  • CRITICAL BUG in iPhone-to-multiple-system syncing of Calendars (Merge In)

I just got an iPhone 3G and need it to sync between both Outlook 2003 under Windows XP and iCal/Address Book/iSync in OS X 10.5.
When you alternatively sync between two computers, the Sync prompts you whether to "Replace" or "Merge in" the data on the iPhone.
If you Merge In, however, certain calendar events get mangled:
    1) Many recurring events (especially custom and daily events) lose their "end date", causing them to repeat forever and fill later dates with hundreds of appointments per day.
    2) Some daily repeating events do not display an event for the last day of the recurrence: you must re-enter the end date manually to fix it.
    3) All-day events prior to 2007 that occur in the dates between the old and new Daylight Savings Time schedules (March, November, etc) get mangled to be 24-hour events beginning at 11:00pm, causing them no longer to appear as all-day events. This is also true for all-day events than span multiple days.
This happens in both directions ways, either from Outlook-to-iPhone-to-iCal or from iCal-to-iPhone-to-Outlook. It is always the "merged" computer whose calendar data is corrupted. Interestingly, despite the catastrophic results on the merged calendar, it displays properly on the iPhone... at least before it gets synced the other way again.
(The Address Book does not have any problems with two-way sync, and actually has very good results.)
I have followed the sync troubleshooting instructions and cleared out all calendars, sync caches, sync history, etc. The sync occurs without errors, but recurring and all-day events are not being handled properly by the "Merge In" procedure.
Apple support seems to be swamped right now, so I haven't been able to get through to open a ticket, even though this is clearly a critical issue for data integrity. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Same problem here, syncing with just one computer, all birthdays stored in Outlook and apearing in calendar as yearly recuring "daily events" appear in the iPhone as two days from 23h the day before to the right day at 23h

  • IOS4 Multiple Exchange Accounts (Contacts & Calendars) Merged or Separated?

Naturally I added my corporate exchange email, but not the calendar and contacts as i have my gmail via activesync doing my personal calendar and contacts.
If i ALSO enable contacts and calendars for my corporate account as well, I understand I will see both on the iPhone; however, I would like to know will my personal contacts and calendar entries get pushed to my corporate and vice versa? Or will they remain separate?
I imagine they would be separate and if I were to remove any of the accounts from my iPhone, the contacts, calendar, and email associated with that particular account will be removed from the iPhone, but leaving the contacts, email, and calendar on the iPhone of the account still remaining.
    Is this correct?

They will remain separate and won't get cross-synced. However, duplicate contacts from each account will be linked together in the "All Contacts" section on the device. So if you have a Bob Smith in each account, they'll be linked together and shown as a single contact in "All Contacts". You can manually unlink any false-positives.

  • My macbook calendar will not merge into my iPhone calendar. How do I push it to my iPhone and merge the calendar that I could before I upgraded iTunes?

I upgraded my iphone to the newest version. It then would not work with older Macbookpro due to the incompatibility with the older software. My new 13" macbook can communicate with it, but my calendar on my macbook now doesn't transfer to my Iphone all the way. Basically an event I place on my macbbok calendar will not show up on my I phone, but my Iphone will show up on my macbbok. How do I get it back to the old way where both calendars merged and the newest prevailed?

  • Calendars won't stay merged after iOS 6.0 update on iphone 4s

I have multiple calendars and emails on my iphone 4s. Prior to my iOS6 update all calendars merged as one. since the update they won't stay merged. Same thing on my husband's 4s. Is it a setting that I'm missing or something else?

I still have no WiFi nor do I have Bluetooth capabilities on my iPhone 4S. I Tried to do a system restore and it's exactly the same as before. Could Apple please expedite an update to solve this WiFi issue? Maybe go back to how you had the WiFi working in iOS7??? It's cutting into my limited data plan and I'd appreciate it if I could use the product I paid for and not feel like I'm being scammed out of it for lack of a better term.

  • How to subcribe to a published Outlook calendar in iCal

I use MS Outlook for work and iCal for my personal calendar.... I use my iPhone for business and personal use. I can't use MS Exchange on my iPhone to sync my Outlook calendar without it overwriting my iCal appointments.
I have published my MS Outlook calendar [privately] and want to subscribe to it in my iCal, but have been unsuccessful.
Do I need to work-around it somehow by subscribing to it from Entourage, Google, Yahoo! etc first then subscribe to that calendar? I'm game with any work-around; whatever will work, I have tons of appointments I need to track that are business and personal. Using MS Outlook directly for any personal use is out of the question.
Bottom line - I want my MS Outlook calendar (work calendar) merged with my iCal (personal calendar) so I can have both on my iPhone.
Thank you in advance for your help!
    Erica

Have you ever gotten an answer to this question? I'm researching new phones. I'm trying to merge and globalize the whole shabang. And I'm like you -- Outlook at work, iCal at home.

  • Can't find or add previous event to calendar.

I have not updated to 8.1 yet. I KNOW that I had a calendar event on Sept. 22nd  and many others that aren't showing up. I went back to add it [it' s important] and it won't 'take'. I toggled calendar off in settings and back on, restarted the iPhone, made sure all calendars and icloud are checked  when I press the middle calendars button at the bottom of the calendar page, nothing. I don't have my calendar merged with outlook or any other calendar -just what's on the iPhone. A huge # of important events have just disappeared. it makes me scratch my head why I can't go back and notate a past event on a date in the past . I have the view where the red box with the lines in it shows up on is it called listview? if I search on titles of events that I KNOW I had on the calendar theydon't show up now. if I press the calendars button [the midde entrée] I get under caldendars all icloud home work calendar and all are checked. What is going on? I haven't changed my settings at all.

    On your phone, try this:
    1. Settings
    2.  Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    3.  Scroll way down below the heading "Calendars" and select "sync"
    4.  All Events
I think one of the updates defaulted the settings to only 1 week or 1 month back.

  • My calendar and contacts are also appearing on daughter's iphone

Why are my contacts and calendars merging with my daughters iPhone as well as on mine?  It started when iCloud came along.  Not sure how to fix this sync issue. Suggestions?  Thanks!

    I have tried that approach.
I have tried to backup from a previous imac backup (not icloud) and still nothing.
I found my contact data files within the source folder on my mac but cannot figure out how to add them to my contact app

  • Restoring calendar backup block iCal from sync

So, the issues with iCloud calendar never ends. After the beautiful discovery i did in my other post, now i'm trying to recover my calendar backup. When i restore my .icbu file, iCal restore all then it get stuck while trying to sync with iCloud. So now, it's my Mac that can't sync with the other devices.
I try recovering the entire directory in the library with time machine, but nothing. Deleting the .plist file and nothing again. It doesn't talk with iCloud anymore, if anybody have some idea, would be glad.

Ok, seems i've found a way to solve the problem. For what i know the problem is with iCal of Mavericks 10.9 that's the system i'm running now.
Issue: you were previously syncing you calendar with your iCloud ID (with mac/me/icloud domain) and for some reason now, you need to log in with another apple domain and you can't sync your calendar or restore your calendar backup done with your previous login.
    - go to iCloud panel in the preferences and disable the syncronization with iCal. It will delete all your calendar from your pc.
    - go to ~Library/Calendar and delete all the directory inside it. To be able to empty the trash you need to restart the computer.
    - after the restart open iCal again, you will start working locally. Create as many calendar you had in the past because you are going to move manually your old events over them.
    - now, go in the directory where you saved your iCal backup and right click on the file, and select "show content" of the package, or use timemachine to recover your old calendar directory always under ~library.
    - you will find a lot of directory name with letters and numers. Enter in the one that ends with ".caldav".
    - now: every other directory you find inside contains the events of each single old calendar you had before. To see what calendar are you looking at, open one directory and open the info.plist you find inside it.
    - on the bottom of the file you should be able to recognize the name of your calendar, so all your past events are in the directory "events" of the same directory.
    - select all the events and move them over the calendar you've created locally on iCal.
    - do this for each other calendar, you can forget all the others directory.
    - when you are finish, go back on the icloud panel and activate the iCal sync with iCloud and let the two calendar merge. It will take a lot of time, more than you expect. Just be patient, because for a few events on two calendar, mine took several minutes.
    - you are done, you should be able to sync everything again!
Remember that to be able to receive events and badge on the calendar of your iDevice, you need to use the original iCloud email you used at the moment you opened your account! No alias will work and even if you are like me an old mac.com members, neither me.com or icloud.com used in combination with your original username will work! They are like alias, with the difference that you can use them to log in your account!

  • The Calendar on the ".Mac Welcome" page

What is the source of data shown on the ".Mac Welcome" page ?
Does the data displayed on the web page come from using Apple's Backup program or or from publishing one or more calendars?
Are all calendars merged together or is it all selective as to which ones are viewable ?

    Irwin,
The calendar on the .Mac welcome page will not reflect any of your calendar information. It only displays a calendar that allows the user to change the display of the selected month by using the <◇> icon. If the current month is selected it will display the current day in red.
This has been a source of confusion for many users and I agree that Apple has not provided a clear explanation. It would be nice to have the additional features that you want/need for an improved user interface I suggest that you Provide iCal Feedback.
    ;~)

  • Sync iCal with iCloud Calendar

None of my appointments in iCal show up in my iCloud Calendar. In fact my iCloud Calendar has no appointments in it. I am sure I screwed something up in the coversion and trying to remove all the duplicate entries. In any event, how do I go about syncing forcing the appointments in iCal to show up in iCloud Calendar.

Problem resolved, and I can now see the other replies, strange.
Anyway, make sure you have a back up copy of your address book and iCal. Use the Export feature to make a back up.
This is what I did to finally resolve the problem.
Go into System Preferences and open "Mail, Contacts & Calendars". Remove all accounts, use the - box.
Go into System Preferences and open "iCloud". Make sure that you have the screen that asks you to sign up for an account. DO not do this yet.
Open Mac Mail and Preferences and remove any accouts that are still showing up so your Mail is completely empty.
Reboot your Mac. Check all the above to see if any accounts have been automatically reinstalled or set up. If they have remove them again.
Reboot again and do the same thing. Once no accounts are showing open you iCal and import the file you exported earlier. This will restore all your appointments in iCal on your Mac.
Reboot your Mac. Make sure that all the iCloud and email accounts are not there. I had to do this 3 times, for what ever reason my old MobileMe account continue to be added back to "Mail, Contacts & Calendars". Once everything is clean and you have all your appointments in iCal, reboot again.
Open Preferences and open "iCloud". Add your primary iCloud account and just wait for everything to finish installing. You should see 2 sets of appointments in iCal. Click on the Calendars button in the upper left and uncheck the box under the heading that does not say iCloud. This does not remove any of the appointments it just hides the ones that are on your Mac and then shows the ones that are on the iCloud Calendar.
One last thing. In iCal open Preferences form the iCal dromdown menue. Under the "Default Calendar" option make sure that you have the default calendar related to the iCloud Calendar checked. If you do not when ever you create a new appointment on your Mac you will be creating it in iCal and two things will happen. First all your iCal appointments on your Mac will show up again and secondl, that appointment will not show up in iCloud Calendars so it will not migrate to your other devices.
Apple should give some thought to having the iCal and iCloud Calendars merged so there are not seperate sets of appointments. I know there must be some reason for doing it the way they did but if someone is going to be using iCloud what would be the purpose of having a seperate set of appointments on your Mac that you have to hide and then worry about entering a new appointment that may not migrate to iCloud if you happend to se that appointment up in the iCal list instead of the iCloud list.
