Calendar missing "dots" on last event day?

Hi,
I have two qutions and I hope you can help me
1.
My calendar on my iPhone 4 is missing the dot on the last day of a multi-day event?
If there are 3 days, the 3rd day will not show a dot saying there's an entry there and this happened after updating to IOS 6....?
2.
And for some reason I'm misssing some events on my calender?
If I go about two month back some events has disappeared??
Regards,
Joan

Hi, cossie102.
I appreciate your feedback regarding your similar problem. I saw the discussions already about that problem before posting mine. However, I felt that this is an entirely different problem. The calendar that is causing the problem is the Birthday calendar that iCal automatically creates. When you enter someone in your address book and put in their birth date, the Birthday calendar automatically updates with an annual entry for them. We don't manually set start and end times, thus ruling out the human error part of creating an end point that chronologically precedes the start point. Of course, this doesn't rule out a possible fault in the automation resulting in a bad/corrupt entry. I still should go back and check to see if I can determine a start to the dots, but my gut instinct tells me that this is something completely different.

Thanks for your reply. I did this and the events have not been restored. I am clouding between my iPhone and iPad and changed the settings on both devices. Do I need to power on and off?

  • How to create a recurrent event on the first or last work day of the month

The lightning calendar allows selection of the first and last day of the month for recurrent events but for business I need to use the first and last WORK day of the month (Monday - Friday) to schedule particular tasks. In the calendar preferences under 'View' I can select the days that make up the work week but this does not transfer to an option in recurrent events. Is there another way to do this or is it just not available?

    Hi there,
do know for the UlltimateBootCD4Win? This from CD bootable WinXP-BartPEedition with additional tools gives you the ability to make such things like partitioning, backup or formatting your HDD.
It has many more applications which help you to maintain your system without booting your original OS.
So I think that this CD will solve your partitioning issues.
    Heres a link: www.ubcd4win.com/
Just try it and tell me your opinion.
Nice weekend and greetings from the sunny south ;)

  • Do not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view

I wish I could.... not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view. For an overview of when I have hard-scheduled events in the calendar it's pretty tedious and slow to go day -by day, and other views... Instead the dot  in the month view... - why does it show even "free" events? Any ideas, tips?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no option to disable the dots.

  • Dot is shown every day in month view, even with no events

    Hi All,
With the latest iTunes update, my outlook calendar sync finally works, however, it has now decided to put a dot on every day in the month view, even on days I have no events. Outlook is still fine, so it does not appear that there is a corrupt event or anything.
Has anyone else seen this and found a fix?
    Thanks in advance

Here is the fix that worked for me. I hope it helps you out.
Busy dots on every day of the month?
The iPhone calendar month view shows a dot on every day you have an event scheduled. This allows you to know, at a glance, any "free" days you have with no appointment scheduled. There seems to be a bug with some type of all-day recurring events in Outlook that sync over improperly to the iPhone. This causes the iPhone to become "confused", and show the "busy dot" on every day of the month, whether the day has an event in it or not.
In order to correct this problem, you will need to find the all-day recurring event or events (could be more than one) that are causing this. Without a search function, it takes a little bit of detective work, but it can be done.
    1. Browse backwards on your calendar until you find the first day of the month with no "busy dot" in it. This will help you identify when the problem started.
    2. Next, find the first instance of the problem - that is, find the first empty day that shows a "busy dot".
    3. Once you find that empty day, look at the days before to find an all-day recurring event (other types of events may cause this bug, but I only experienced it with all-day recurring events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
    4. Edit the event - the start and end dates of the event should be, by definition, the same day. The bug apparently causes the event to sync over with the end date a day before the start date. This creates a situation that the iPhone calendar cannot handle properly, causing the dots to appear on every day from that point on forward. Fix the end date to be the same as the start date.
    5. This should fix the problem, at least until the next all-day recurring event. In my case, I had seven events I had to fix. Every time I fixed one, the empty days on the calendar would no longer show a "busy dot", but as I browsed forward, the problem appeared again. I noticed it appeared right after one of these faulty all-day recurring events. When I fixed the event, the days from that day on forward would correct themselves until the next faulty all-day recurring event. Once all seven all-day recurring events were fixed, the "busy dot" no longer appeared on any empty days.

  • Can someone please tell Apple to create a "dot" for every event in a given day?

Can someone run this idea up the chain at apple?  It would be nice to see what days are busiest from the monthly view.  I single dot can represent 1 event or 20, but this is not helpfull.  It seems like it would be an easy programming fix to make a "dot" for every event scheduled in a given day, no?  You could press this idea further by making the dot color coordinated to the type of event.
Or is there a setting that I am missing?
    Thanks,
    Stoutland

No-one here can - we're not Apple. Try the feedback page.

  • My calendar appointments show for future events, but disappear once I reach the day of the event.  So I can see tomorrow's appointments now, but they will be gone tomorrow.  Why is this happening?  It's on my iPhone and iPad.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Calendar: Month View mode shows all days with "dots"

    Hiya,
I've got a problem with my calendar on the iPhone showing dots (symbolizing an appt on that day) for every day of the current month. I don't have appointments on every single day, so the bug is really affecting my ablity to check the month at a glance. And if I scroll to the next or previous month the dots appear only on days with appts, like they're supposed to.
I've already reset the phone, used the on-phone erase settings/content, and resynced the device. I've done everything short of restoring it in iTunes. Has anybody ever encountered this problem before?

Here are a couple of previous threads that might help.

i was buy last 4 days new i phone 4 ,now one small white dot is come my screen

Sorry. We can't help you. It's no longer an iPhone. Apple won't touch it.
Take it to whoever replaced the screen and see if they can help you.
iPhones are not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. I'd be surprised if you were actually able to back it up at this point. It sounds like it's completely borked.

Disable or remoce the Calendar, that is creating these events, Terry.
To find out, which calendar is creating these events, ctrl-click on one of the events and select "Get Info".
In the Info panel click the color icon in the upper right corner to find out the calendar, that created this event.
Then reveal the "Calendars" Sidebar (press the "Calendars" button in the toolbar) and select the Calendar, ctrl-click it and delete the calendar or disable it.

The Sync setting only appears if you are syncing your calendar with iCloud.  If you are syncing them to another service (such as Google) you would need to go your account with that service and see if you can change the setting there.
If you are syncing your calendar with iCloud, you should see the Sync setting, and be able to tap and change it.

  • Hi, I've been trying to configure my MacBook Air to the iCloud and for the last 3 days it's still uploading my calender. Also a few entries made to the calender in the last few days seem to have gone missing. Is this normal? How long will the upload take?

Are you sure .mov files worked on the iPhone without a third part player? I'm just not sure...
    Try these instructions from Apple:
Convert a video to work with iPhone:  Select the video in your iTunes library and choose Advanced > “Create iPod or iPhone Version.” Then add the converted video to iPhone.

  • IPhone Calendars Missing

Today I woke up and noticed that my iPhone calendars were missing. I'm hoping I can find a way to get them back.
    Background:
I have a laptop (MacBook Pro - 10.6.4), an iPad, and iPhone (iOS v4.0) and my email accounts, contacts, calendars and bookmarks are synchronized between all the devices.
No updates to the iOS happened in the last three days.
Launching iCal on the iPhone shows the network activity icon (appears at the top of the iPhone next to the wifi icon).
    Symptom:
Tapping on iCal from the iPhone shows a blank calendar. The correct day is selected, however no events are displayed. There is no option to select or filter calendars (option is typically available when there are multiple calendars to choose from.)
My iPhone seems to be the only device in the group that doesn't appear to be working. Oddly enough, all other content is syncing fine on the iPhone, laptop and iPad. Changes in contacts, bookmarks and everything else seem to work as expected. Calendar events, however do not show up on the iPhone but do show up on the Laptop and iPad as expected.
The iPhone does not show any of the available calendars. In fact, the device doesn't allow me to create a new event because there are no available calendars to choose from, and the phone requires this information.
    What I've tried:
    - Restarted iPhone
    - Launch iCal on iPhone and wait (hoping calendar info is loading)
    - Verified that the information is correct and available on me.com - it is - calendar data is not lost.
    - Verified the settings on my iPhone (calendar data set to push along with contacts, bookmarks, etc)
    - I've attempted to delete and reset the MobileMe account responsible for the push data on the iPhone. Interestingly I receive a warning that there are calendars on the phone that will be deleted.
    - I've attempted to reset Sync History on the Laptop (primary data source)
    - I've restored the iPhone with a complete reinstall and new sync after the restore (data still missing)
    - Turned off syncing on iPhone. Restarted device and turned syncing back on. Receive message giving option to "merge" or "replace" calendars currently on the iPhone (attempted both with no luck).
    My guess:
If I had to guess, it seems that I have a corrupt calendar file on my iPhone. The trouble is I have no idea how to remove the bad file and replace the existing data. I thought restoring the phone would do this, but it didn't.
Also, it may be helpful to note that I could not restore from the backup which was conducted just prior to the os restore. I had to do a fresh sync from my laptop to get the contact, bookmark and email data back on the phone.
Any thoughts on what I could try next?

Well, I got my calendars synced by going in to settings and telling the phone to manually sync to the computer but that doesn't answer the question of what's wrong and why thinks disappeared or if everything will double up.
