Calendar notes

I've transfered calendar appointments over to the iPhone with phone #'s in the notes field. Is it possible to make these #'s "clickable" and dial the # through the phone?

I did what you are trying to do, and could not get a phone number to be "clickable" to dial in that field, no matter what format I used (with or without punctuation, etc). It looks like that's just not an available feature for that field.
Further, unfortunately it does not look like sync brings over an Attendee or Attendees that you have added into the event from your address book, through iCal on the Mac. That's too bad, it would make a lot of sense to be able to dial someone direct from an appointment entry, to tell them you're running late, or whatever. Maybe in a future update Calendar on iPhone will offer more of the iCal type features with built in number clickability like elsewhere on the iPhone.

Solution
Create backup of your entire mailbox before starting (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Create offline folder (.pst file) Check windows help on how to do this for your version.
Open folders view on Outlook
Right click on Calendar in tree view and 'copy to' offline .pst folder
Go back to main calendar view and delete all entries in your calendar.
Create simple cal entry and sync test with iphone
If this works then start dragging cal entries back from the offline folder into the main calendar then sync after each step....
I moved events in this order
-Yearly recurrences (ie Birthdays)
- Monthly recurrences
- weekly recurrences
- Daily recurrences
All appointments from the beginning of this year >> to the end of time!
If all these sync then the issue is with an older cal item and you have to decide if you actually need these in you current calendar.
I chose to leave these in the offline cal and if i need access them from there.
If at any point the sync fails then you know you have a corrupt cal entry in the block you just transferred. Move the offending items back into the offline folder and try again in smaller chunks until you identify the offending items and delete them and manually recreate them in your real calendar.
Also smart to run the inbox (.pst /.ost ) repair tools for your OS/Outlook version.

Public Holiday calendar not to be taken into account for Sick Leave.
Eg -When I employee applies for sick leave, the public holiday in between the dates shouldnt be considered. How can I configure this requirement.

For that group, you need 2 counting rules:
- one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 0 (not a working day)
- one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 1 to 9 (a working day)
If you want, you can add an other one or two for Holiday Class 1 to 9 (public holiday)

My husband and I have the same Apple ID number so that we can both have access to an app we use. I don't like the fact that our calendar, notes and email is also shared. Is there a way to separate the things we want separate yet keep access to the cloud

That would be my suggestion. Just keep using the common one for purchases in the stores. Then each get another AppleID using a free gmail, AOL, hotmail, MS Live or whatever email account.
Delete your current iCloud account and login with the new AppleID, and logout of Messaging and then backin with the new AppleID. Now you have a shared iTunes/App store account, but completely separate, independent iCloud and iMessage accounts.

Why does my .me online calendar not match my iCal on my desktop?

Not only do my calendars not seem to be syncing up, my iCal at home has double events for every repeating event. But more annoyingly my .me calendar is different than my ical at home calendar. Arent all these calendars supposed to sync up? If i make a change on my home iCal shouldnt it change online too? the double events are very annoying too..

Any calendars listed under the "On My Mac" heading will not sync, and after backup can safely be deleted.

Shared Office 365 calendars not showing up in iCal

We are using Microsoft's Office 365 and have users with a variety of devices and applications (Mac/iCal/Mail, Windows/Outlook, iPhone, Android, etc.).
I am the administrator of the Exchange accounts. I have created four calendars that are viewable by everyone within our organization (just general "company-wide calendars").
Users with Outlook are able to view those shared calendars just fine. However, I'm not able to add the shared calendars with users using iCal.
If I add them as a delegate, they can see all my calendars, but if I just share the calendar, they get a "no access" error.
Here's where I'm setting the shared calendar permissions. I've tried setting them as Reviewer, setting the Default as Reviewer, and setting them as Owner.
Because it works fine in Outlook, I'm wondering if it's an iCal problem. For cross-referencing purposes, here's my issue at Office 365's community: Shared calendars not showing up in Apple iCal

Hi All, after much trial and tribulation, this works for me on BusyCal. It is an app you can get on the apple store.
Calendar should be created then shared with the busycal user. The link does not work, but add exchange account as you would on Mac Calendar under preference>accounts. The go to the sharing tab and click plus and type in email of person who shared calendar. It will auto populate. For some reason it does not work under delegation in Mac Calendar
The key and where I spent 4 days on the phone with apple and office 365, is that the owner of the calendar has to share their calendar, named :"calendar" They can just click the permission "show availability only." Once they do that, any other calendars they have created and added you as full permissions or details, you can see. I see nothing on their calendar called "calendar" Not the perfect solution, but it works. BusyCal is $30

How do I retrieve data from the cloud to put back on my iPad after it was restarted, I.e. my calendar, notes, reminders?

I took my 1st gen iPad to an Apple store because of some glitches in the operating system, and I had forgotten my restrictions pass code. They backed up my data on the cloud, then took everything off of my iPad to basically "start over" with a new iPad. Now I don't know how to retrieve my calendar, notes, reminders. Somehow my contacts are there. I went to general settings and made sure the cloud was turned on, but I don't know how to pull from the cloud what we had previously backed up. When you have forgotten a restrictions password, you can no long restore from a backup that had the restrictions turned on. You can only start over with a full reset.
But you can sign back into icloud (Setting>icloud) and turn on the services you have used before (calendars, reminders, etc...). That will sync down the data to your ipad.

How to export contacts, calendar, notes from outlook 2013 for mac to out 2013 PC

I have been unsucessful with syncing my iPhone5 and iPad Air (both are iOS7). My MS Outllok 2013 is installed on my iMac (Maverick). My iMac is dualt booted with Windows 7 and Maverick operating systems.
I visited my local Apple store and was told that I would need to export my contacts, calendar, notes etc to a thumb drive and import to my Windows-based MS Office 2013. Well, I tried to do that but discovered when you go to export on the Mac side and option to export to .csv is not an option. The one an only option is ".olm"
How do I accomplish exporting my contacts, calendar, notes to a thumb drive and is able to import on the PC side? Not to fond of the fact that I have a brand new iMac and is unable to sync my iphone and iPad Air. This *****!!

Well, there actually is... syncing through Link to Outlook is one way.

ICal - iPhone sync. Local calendar not showing up in iTunes list of available calendars, only Exchange calendars.

iTunes only shows Exchange-calendars in the list where you can choose which calendars (we're talking about "calendars", not "accounts") you want to synchronize. If I add a local calendar in iCal, I can not choose it to synchronize with my iPhone. It simply doesn't show up in the list of available calendars. How does iTunes compile this list of available Calendars to synchronize?

Google Calendar not showing up on iPhone

I'm trying to get me iCal and Google Calendar to sync. I've set up my gCal in iCal using the CalDAV instructions and now my gCal shows up in iCal, but as a separate calendar, not really what I consider syncing with my actual iCal "home" calendar.
The other thing is that the gCal won't show up on my iPhone at all. I'm confused about this because I've read several post of people saying their gCal show up but as read only. Is this true?
Am I missing something? Has anyone gotten their gCal to show up on the iPhone using the CalDAV method?

This is a system preferences that syncs your google calendars in your google user account with a given calendar under iCal. It works seamlessly both ways. We have several family calendars on google calendar and they go back and forth to my iCal and then synced to my iphone without a hitch.

As long as it is pointed to iTunes it will be accessible via home sharing on Apple TV.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

Outlook Mail, Calendar, Notes and more?

I am a Windows Mobile person but I recently feel in love with Bold, thinking of getting one right away but after going through the forums, I am slightly lost.
I am currently able to synch my HTC phone with my company's outlook mail, calendar, notes and contacts. My company has Microsoft exchange but no BES, so I am thinking of signing up for the BIS with my operator. Question is will I still be able to synch mail, calendar, notes and contacts with BIS? I only see references to mail only. Not sure about the rest.

Yes, Contacts = Address Book.
The sync on Desktop Manager 4.5 and 4.6 is somewhat slow, it appears to give the data an extra couple of read passes for some reason. On DM 4,2, the sync was lightening fast.
Expect 7-8 minutes for a sync on DM 4.6 with 1,000 contacts.

How to modify a calendar note in 10.9

How are calendar notes modified in OS 10.9? I can't find the answer on the internet.

Well, to answer my own question ... it seems Perian does work in 10.3.9, at least for this movie, despite what it says on the website. I tried installing it, and the .mov version of the video opens and plays just fine. Perhaps this will be of use to someone.
