Calendar notifications silent on my Classic

For some reason, my Classic (10.3.1.1565 ) will not play a sound with Calendar notifications.  I've checked all the settings, and sound and volume are definitely on (and I can hear phone, email and text notifications fine), but Calendar notifications are popping up silently.  I've already missed out on urgent reminders.  Can anyone help?
(Also, why is there no forum for the Classic?)

BlackBerry Classic link is there above the links to other BB10 models. Page is at http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Classic/bd-p/BlackBerryClassic
Was the issue with calendar notifications there out of the box? Or did you do an update and that is when the issue appeared?

  • Calendar Notification

Does anyone know how the calendar notification works? I have seen on examples a little red circle with a 1 in it on the calendar app. Just like phone, Email and SMS notifications. If I set an appointment on the iPhone as an alert will this generate the calendar notification so if I view the iPhone I know I have an alert in calendar?
Or is it just for invitations? I'm not sure. If it is for invitations how do I set an invitation on the iPhone? Do I send myself an email with the invitation/alert so I get this notification?
    Any help is appreciated

I just sent myself an invitation from my desktop PC and let the iphone fetch the email on it's own. It was a meeting invitaion. I was hoping this would give me a calendar notification on the home screen so I would have a visual when I had appointments. It did not work. Worse yet is when I opened the email on the iphone it didn't even give me a choice to accept or decline the invitation. So basically the meeting invitation from outlook does not work on the iphone. Has anyone else found this out and if so is there a solution or is this another item on the long list of Apple fixes?

  • Calendar notifications keep turning back on

I like to have all calendar notificatins turned off, but every time I restart my computer (iMac 27" late 2012 with Yosemite) I find that calendar notifications are all turned back on - alerts, notificationsin lock screen, notificatin center, badge app, playing sound.  I turn everything off and all works as it should until I restart my iMac and all the calendar notifications turn back on by themselves.  Can anyone help with advice for me to keep the calendar notifications off?  It's really annoying to have to change the settings every time I restart.
    Thanks!

Have you updated to 10.10.1 yet?

  • How can I receive calendar notification instead of .ics mail attachmentes? Have already delete my apple id as alternate email on another id. Thanks very much

Well, I´m unable to receive calendar notifications after my father bought a new iphone and I put my appleid email as alternative email in his account just to revover his password in case of. I just receive emails with .ics attached.
I have tried anything, as deleting the alternate email adress on my father´s appleid, and still recieve the .ics attachments and no notifications. Furthermore, if I don´t download the .ics it won´t appear on my calendar.

You may need to enable in-app notifications in you iCloud calendar preferences on icloud.com.  See http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mma527d46.

  • I am getting calendar notifications for others calendars on my iphone

Ever since I updated to IOS8, I have been getting calendar notifications from my boss's calendar on my iphone 5.  I have his calendar as a secondary calendar so I can schedule appointments with him as needed.  His is the only secondary calendar that I am getting notifications from.  His and mine.  How do I turn the notifications to his off.  I checked google to make sure the settings there are correct which they are. I am not getting his reminders in my outlook or my gmail browser only on my phone.

You can choose to not see those notifications by using the Settings app.
Ssettings > Notifications > Calendar > Shared Calendar Changes > turn off the notifications in that section.

    Hi,
The 'features' you refer to are not anything that a customer should really care about, so why don't you just turn them off.
Do you really care about "Location-based iAds" - I've hardly ever even seen iAds!
Do you really care about the time-zone updating based upon your international location - unless you are a very frequent traveller, this 'feature' is pretty useless and can be turned off without losing functionality that matters.
The specific features to turn off are indicated in my post above - they are all in one place, they can all be turned off in about 20 seconds, and your problem will go away, and you will not lose any important functionality.
Obviously I would agree with your point if you had to refrain from using the phone or making text messages, or playing games, or taking photos... all of which are genuinely useful features of a phone.
But I disagree with you that you should deny yourself reasonable battery life on the basis that you need the specific features that made you buy this "Apple product and not an Android one" when these features are in fact not first-line, or even-second line features... they are just 'things' that make very little difference to how a person would use their iPhone at all.
Anyway, that's my thoughts on it. Yes of course it would be great if Apple could fix the bug but as it isn't showstopping, I find it hard to get worked up about it

  • Calendar notification banner not working

    Greetings,
I am using Entourage for my calendar and everything works fine with basic alerts and what not priot to IOS5.  Now when I turn on Calendar notifications for the "Notification Menu" on the slide down it will NOT display the calendar banner within the notifications screen correctly.  You can see where it should be but it keeps flashing the calendar banner and not actually putting it in its place below weather or stock quotes depending on how it is displayed.
Anyone else experiencing this weird behaviour and if so any resolution?

Events are displayed in the calendar, but the reminders do not work. No sound, no on-screen does not show up anything. I tried to do and reset and Restart.
    Firmware 4.3.3 did not help

  • Calendar notifications on iPad iOS 8.2 shows yesterday and not today

Since I updated my iPad to iOS 8.2 my calendar  notifications in the notification centre are showing the wrong day. The calendar summaries for 'Today' and 'Tomorrow' are correct, but the actual calendar details shows me events from yesterday and not today.
i have tried removing the calendar from notifications, and then adding it back. I have also tried a simple reboot of the iPad. Anyone know why it is doing this? What else can I try to fix this?

WWhen the iPhone is connected via usb to computer. Look at tones on the device. Does the tone look different from all others, does it have a transparent circle next to the ringtone name?

  • My calendar notifications disappear about an hour before the event. How do I make them stay for longer?

My calendar notifications disappear from the notification center about an hour before the event. How do I make them stay for longer? It is it's 5

This is normal and is how Apple handles photos.
    There are NOT duplicate photos.
Just as a song is in your itunes library and you can access that exact same song from a playlist,  all  photos synced to iphone are in the photo library and those exact same photos (NOT duplicates) can be accessed from the individual albums.
It is working exactly as it should.

  • Samsung Brightside calendar notification not going away

Why doesn't the calendar notification disappear when there are no scheduled events on my Samsung Brightside?

Thank you for this information, summersrn28. That is definitely very strange. Let's give this a try. I recommend setting up one or two events, and then either waiting for the schedule notification date or time to arrive, or canceling them right away. This can possibly make the random notification go away.
    Please keep us posted.

  • Make Mail app stop sending calendar notifications?

Is there a way to completely disable OS X Mail.app sending Calendar notifications? I use Postbox for mail and I'd like to use Calendar. But with  Apple Mail firing up everytime to send notications, I might have to just use the browser for my calendar (I use google apps).
    Thanks.

First, make sure you have an outgoing mail account corresponding to each of your incoming mail accounts. The user names must match. Then make sure the right outgoing account is selected when you send. You can change the default selection in
Mail > Preferences > Composing > Send new messages from:

  • Not getting shared calendar notifications on new MacBook Pro

Once I got a new MacBook Pro (2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB flash storage) and transferred my data from my old MacBook, I stopped getting notifications of changes made to shared calendars owned by someone else. (Changes made by others to shared calendars that I own still generate notifications.)
In iCloud preferences, Calendars is checked.
Calendar is in my Notification Center, and its notifications are set as alerts.
In Calendar preferences, "Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center" is not checked.
In Info for individual shared calendars, "Ignore alerts" is not checked.
I removed one of the shared calendars, then its owner resent an invitation to it, and I accepted. It didn't help; I still did not receive notifications.

This is very strange, but yesterday, weeks after I set up my new machine and found this problem, I started getting shared calendar notifications again out of the blue. I have no explanation.

  • Can't turn off calendar notifications on shared calendar

    Hello,
Since Yosemite I can't turn off calendar notifications on shared calendar.
The notifications are turned off on calendar.
The notification are turn off on the Google calendar settings.
    Am I missing something?
    Best,
    g.

    Hi gregorytrow,
There's a shared calendar messages preference in Calendar preferences you may want to change.
Calendar: If you’re not receiving alerts
Choose Calendar > Preferences, click Alerts, and then deselect the “Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center” and “Turn off invitation messages in Notification Center” checkboxes.
    Take care,
    Nubz

  • Outlook calendar notifications

I added a few shared calendars using outlook 2011, i am now receiving notifications for everyone that i have a shared calendar from plus mine.  IS there anyway to disable the shared calendar notifications and just keep my notifications?
    OS 10.9.4
    Outlook 2011

I have been working on this issue off and on for a while – and I think I got something to work (only a couple of affected calendar invitations have come
through so far, but they all followed the rule).
I have 2010 and this is what I did:
    1.
Open one of the Invites you would like to create a rule for (needs to be from your inbox, not deleted items)
    2.
In the bottom right box labeled “Tags” on the ribbon is a tiny icon of a square with an arrow – if you click on this it opens the Properties window for that email (apparently
there are easier ways to get to the properties window in 2003 and 2007).
    3.
In the Properties window you can view the Header information.
Scroll through the header information until you find the item that looks similar to “X-MS-Exchange-Inbox-Rules-Loop: [email protected]”.
    Highlight and copy this text.
    4.
Now set up your rule, and use the rule “with specific words in the message header” rule and use the copied text as the specific words.
    Hope this works for you
