Calendar on iPhone; days begin on Monday instead of Sunday

Hello,
On my iPhone the days begin on Monday instead of Sunday, might someone know how to change it to begin on Sunday? I already tried doing it on iCal (on computer) but it only works for iCal, on the iPhone it still begins on Monday.
Anyone run into this problem?
Thank you,

This is only since the new 2.0 software came out. I'm assuming this is a bug, and not a feature?
Whatever it is, it's annoying. I keep thinking I'm looking at the wrong day, since I'm used to the week beginning on Sundays (as it does on every calendar I've ever seen).

  • How do I get my Calendar to start the week fr Monday instead of Sunday?

On my Macbook Pro, I am able to set my Calendar to start on Monday which appears farthest left.  However, on my iPhone (and iPad), the Calendar starts on the default Sunday and I don't see any settings to change that.  Can anyone help?

Thanks for the tip, Mactagg.  Yes, it's infuriating.
My settings are for Singapore and we follow the British system, yet the Calendar still starts from Sunday which makes me wonder why Apple decided that the UK Calendar should start from Monday...
True, although there are plenty of good stuff about Apple, it seems that perhaps some middle manager somewhere has screwed certain features up such as Bluetooth which is horrible but that's for another story and thread...
I will still stick to Singapore settings as it affects my phone number settings.

  • ICal question; my calendar displays the week beginning on Mondays, but when I print it, the week begins on Tuesdays...how can I fix this?

My iCal display shows the week beginning on Mondays, but when I print it, the week starts on Tuesdays.  How can I fix this?

Grrrrr only just upgraded to Yosemite and I gather from the above posts that this glitch has still not been sorted out!  Have to go to settings and set start of week to Sunday to get it to print starting Monday - that's mad! Come on Apple sort it out.  Have to keep switching back and forth as I have to print out iCal for my accounts.  Cross face

  • ¿How do I set the calendar to start week on Monday and not Sunday in my iphone?

¿How do I set the calendar to start week on Monday and not Sunday in my iphone?

The jewish calendar does not have names for the days of the week. The week ends with the holy Sabbath (Saturday) and therefore the Sunday is the first days after Sabbath (Yom Rishon), the Monday the second day after Sabbath (Yom Sheini), etc.
The Christians believe that Christ was raised on the first days of the week (Mathew 28:1, et al) AFTER the Sabbath was over. So their holy day is the Sunday and the working week starts on a Monday.
The business days in the western world are numbered starting with the Monday as day number 1 (Timetables of Airlines, Calendars, even Microsoft Windows...).
Unfortunately in the United States religious freedom extends to a level which is not understood easily by the rest of the world. Since the MAC OS X allows to change the first day from a Sunday to a Monday, one might wonder why Apple decided to give the iPhone a jewish touch.
It could be supposed that this is the way of the least resistance. Only few complain about this issue, but if it were the other way around a lot of people would complain...
PS: I agree with the others here: It is very, very annoying and more than once I entered an appointment into the wrong day...;-)

  • Can I revert my calendar to begin on Monday without changing regions?

Calendar problems! I hate the fact that iOS 6 now makes my calendar begin on Sunday. I don't want to change my region. Is there any way I can revert my calendar back to begin on Monday?

    Hi Frank,
I completely agree with you and, from a brief look at the discussion boards, it seems as though changing to a Monday-Sunday calendar view in Week and Month views is not possible in iOS without changing region setting in International to Barbados or something similar without changing languages.  It used to be possible to switch to the UK or Australia for this, but that has changed with iOS6.  However, the problem with changing regions to non-US or -UK is that it turns off turn-by-turn directions in Maps. Apple needs to add a setting directly to Calendar in iOS. Note that changing the setting in iCloud doesn't translate to a change on one's iPhone or iPad.  Infuriating!
I'm going to submit a feedback ticket.  I hope you will do the same.  http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and/or http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html.
    Cheers.

  • TS1347 when syncing my iphone with my Outlook calendar, a few days appointments did not show on my iphone calendar while other days did. I have done this several times in the past, and this is the first time I've had any troulbe

when syncing my iphone with my Outlook calendar, a few days appointments didn't show in my iphone calendar, but other days did.  The appointments show in my outlook calendar.  I have done this many times, and this is the first time I have had this kind of trouble.  Any idea what has caused these appointments to not show?

Why start a new and very similar thread to your other one which you have not responded to (have you read the replies?)
I suggest that no response is made to this duplicate thread.

  • Birthday calendar on iPhone

Is there a way to synchronize the Birthday Calendar with the iPhone? My other calendars all synchronize, but as that one is part of the contacts it does not. Contacts are synchronized with birthday information, but it does not put it into the calendar on the iPhone.

If you have a MobileMe account and you have Calendars on for over the air syncing, you can't sync direct with iCal via the iTunes sync process. You can do one or the other only, not both at the same time.
At the present time, syncing subscribed calendars over the air is not supported, and the iCal Birthdays calendar is a subscriber calendar. Syncing subscribed calendars will be supported beginning with firmware update 3.0 to be released this summer.
What I have done in the interim - I exported the subscribed Birthdays calendar from iCal followed by importing the exported calendar as a standard calendar. You can't have two iCal calendars with the same name, so I named the new calendar for the import - B-Days. This calendar is synced with the MM cloud which in turn becomes available on my iPhone. This calendar isn't updated when adding a birthday for an existing contact or for a new contact, but this is temporary until subscribed calendars are supported for over the air syncing with firmware update 3.0.

  • How do I sync my calendar between iPhone and Mac on Mavericks? The postings I've seen so far are not showing me how to do this simple thing! Apple used to be easy to use - not so much any more

I am trying to sync my calendar between the mac and my iphone now that I have upgraded to Mavericks. I understand that I have to use iCloud (which I am not at all excited about) but I'll be damned if I can find out how to do it.  I've read several postings in the community but they point me to broad troubleshooting pages and I can't find anything that simply tells me how to get my calendar into icloud to begin with and then how to sync.  i was pretty happy syncing dircetly through itunes.  I am feeling very sour about Apple right now.

Actually it is pretty easy to do through iCloud,
    On your Mac(s)
    System Preferences > iCloud
Be sure the services you want to sync through iCloud are checked
click on Account Details and be sure your Apple ID is correct
    On your iPhone
    Settings > iCloud
Account -- Verify the Apple ID is the same one you set in System Preferences on your Mac(s)
turn the services you want to sync throug iClound or ON. These should match the ones you set in System Preferences on your Mac
    On your iPad
    Settings > iCloud
Account -- Verify the Apple ID is the same one you set in System Preferences on your Mac(s)
turn the services you want to sync throug iClound or ON. These should match the ones you set in System Preferences on your Mac
That is literally all there is to it. The first sync will occur when your iPhone or iPad is plugged into power and on WiFi. After that any change made on one of the synched devices will appear on all of the other synched devices the first time they have an internet connection.

  • Why don't changes I make to calendar on iPhone appear on iCal or iCloud calendar?

Objective: make changes to calendar on iPhone (iOS 5.0.1), iPad (iOS 5.0.1), iCal (on MAC with 10.7.3) that automatically sync with each other through iCloud.
I had a MobleMe account and moved to iCloud. However, when I make changes to my calendar on iPhone or iPad they do not appear in iCal on MAC or on iCloud calendar.
As an aside, when I make changes to iCal or on iCloud they do appear on iPhone if I connect it to iTunes.
Ive been searching through forums and trying different things all day & still can't figure it out.

  • When I make appointment in calendar of IPhone between 20 Feb: 7 AM to 23 Feb: 11 AM, the bullet at the 23 Feb disappear. Why?

I can not make appointment in calendar of IPhone (format : Month).
For example: I want to make appointment between 20 Feb: 7 AM to 23 Feb: 11 AM.  The bullet in calendar show at 20, 21, 22 Feb only but the bullet don't show at  23 Feb but the detail of the appointment below calendar show at 20, 21, 22 and 23.
If I choose "start & end = All-day", the bullet will show at 20, 21, 22 and 23 Feb in calendar but I can not see the actual time in calendar.

Oh yes, and I forgot. Click the rectangle button on top left (Caldendar) in iCal. Make sure that iCloud calendar is listed and that when you are adding an event, you are actually adding it to the selected iCloud calendar, and not some silly Work or Home calendar under On My iPad.

  • Just want to sync Outlook calendar and Iphone without paying extra $$

I am currently using Mobile Me trial membership to sync my Outlook Calendar and Iphone calendar. Just that only -- I don't want to sync my Outlook e-mail or contacts with my phone. But I don't want to pay $99 for for Mobile Me after the free trial runs out in October.
Will I have to pay to sync?
I need to sync them a couple times a day, it has to be secure, and I don't want to do it manually with a wire.
    Any advice?

    Jon,
I could connect the cord and sync each night, but that's too difficult to remember.
That's how I did it for a year with the first iPhone. It wasn't that bad.
Still, over the air synching is pretty cool, especially if you update your calendar throughout the day and always want the latest information on the phone.

  • Why has my iPhone 5 begin to bend inward near the volume buttons?

Why has my iPhone 5 begin to bend inward? Is there any way apple can help me replace my device?

I have to schedule an appointment to meet up with someone that works at apple in order to get my phone checked. But I think is hardware because I've been really cautious with my phone since purchasing it in February. I've had it in an otter box defender case and all that. I just took it out the box like two weeks ago in order to feel the slimness of the phone instead of the bulky ness. But there's been a few times when charging my phone it has gotten very hot. Specially when I start charging it when it's at 1%. And I've read other people say that it has happened to them also and they said that when your pone gets really hot when charging it makes it easy for the aluminum still frame around the phone bend. But I mean my pone is literally bent inward and I really don't know what caused it to do that. Cause I'm seriously not going to pay to get a new device when I honestly didn't do anything to the phone physically in order for it to get bent.

  • Swipe the calendar through the days

Is there any way to swipe the calendar across the days?
for example, I'm on Tuesday in the calendar view, and I swipe my finger to the left and shift to Wednesdays view. or swipe back to the right and view Tuesday, then again to view Monday.
This would work the same as the photo viewer.
Then I can get really creative and pinch to zoom out to the week, then zoom out to the month, then zoom out to the year.
    Just a thought.

you can with an app. I use Week Calendar and it swipes the days. If in week view you can zoom in and out too.
