Calendar on MacBook Pro does not sync with iPhone 4s

I used Entourage to sync my calendar entries via iTunes for many years and it worked fine. Recently, however, it stopped syncing my information.  I switched over to Mail and Calendar, hoping that staying within the Apple family it would resolve the issue. Still, my calendar information is not syncing with my iPhone. I use IOS 10.9 Maverick on my MacBook Pro.  My iPhone 4S version is 7.0.4. Any idea why this syncing calendar information is not happening?

I have my iPhone attached via USB cable to my MacBook Pro.
I have been able to successfully sync my calendar now by activating iCloud on my iPhone and via System Preferences on my MacBook Pro after I learned that Maverick does not provide iSync.
However, I have a new problem: The calendar does not "upgrade" (it gets stuck) and I receive a "403" error and it gets stuck in a loop that I have to force quit. I have looked that up in the forum, but wasn't able to solve this issue because the solutions are way to technical and out of my league.
Very disappointed development as removing calendar from iCloud now also deletes all my entries on the Mac.

  • Address Book on MacBook Pro does not sync with IPad or Iphone

I have a MacBook Pro with OS10.7.4.  When I add a new address it does not sync with my IPad or IPhone.  However, adding an address on the IPad or IPhone it will appear on the IMac Pro.  I have checked to make sure that the Address Book on my IMac is directed to ICloud.  I also tried to uncheck the Address Book on ICloud, recheck and restart the computer with no success.  What am I missing?

It just started to sync.  Forget the question.

  • Address Book Associates Field does not sync with iPhone

Apple went to the trouble of getting custom field names in the Mac OS Address Book to synchronize with the iPhone (which is wonderful), but they left one field 'unsyncable'; the associates field. If you list a contact's manager name, spouse name, child name, etc. in Address Book, it does not sync with the iPhone (OS 3.0.1) 'Phone' application. This is very useful (and embarrasment-preventing) when needing to remember the name of a contact's manager, wife, child, etc. Does anyone have any idea why Apple left this out of the sync? Certainly it couldn't have to do with saving memory...

Oh yes! i have this same problem - i have tried emailing Apple Customer Support but they were unable to help me. They advised me to speak to technical or raise the issue on the Apple Support board (but someone already has!)
so if someone can help us both out here with how to sync additional field information added on Address Book on Mac to then sync all this additional information to iPhone, we would be greatly appreciative!!Thanks,
    Mark

  • MacBook Pro won't sync with iPhone but iPhone does

Since upgrading MacBook Pro to OS X Yosemite and each of iPhone and iPad to iOS 8.1.2, whilst appointments made on iPhone and iPad appear on Calendar in MacBook Pro, those made on MacBook Pro don't appear in Calendars on my iPhone and iPad. Tried iTunes sync with cable, WiFi while connected to power, have read Forums, etc but no luck. Effectively "One way sync" only. Has any one else experienced and rectified this issue??

  • ICal on MacBook Pro does not sync to other devices

I'm lost ... we have an iMac (10.8.3), a MacBookPro (10.7.5) 3 iPads (1/5.1.1 - 2/6.0.2 - Air/7.0.4) and an iPhone (6.1.3) syncing calendars via iCloud. Everything works great EXCEPT when we enter an event in iCal on the MBP .... it does not sync to the other devices. Entries on all other devices sync fine to all others, but not when they're made in iCal on the MBP, these will only show up on the MBP. I've compared settings of the iMac and the MBP and all seems fine. I'm at a loss and have no idea where to look or what to do to resolve this. Is there anyone here who can point me in the right direction? Thank you very much!
P.S.: not sure whether I should post this in this iCloud community or whether I should post it in an iCal community. Sorry.

Open iCal on your MBP and go to iCal>Preferences>General and make sure the Default Calendar is set to an iCloud calendar and not and On My Mac Calendar.  If it is set to an iCloud calendar, try adding any missing events from the calendar on your MBP to the calendar on icloud.com.  Once all the MBP events are on the calendar on icloud.com, go to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck iCal (Calendar), choose Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and check iCal (Calendar) again.
If events added to your MBP still don't sync to iCloud, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  (This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud.  Your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

  • Why did my iCal entries disappear?. My Mac Book Pro does not sync with iPad 2

How do I restore the entries in my iCal? The entries disappeared and it does not sync in iCloud.

    Open System Prerferences > iCloud
Deslect the box next to Calendars then reselect then restart your Mac.
On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Calendars off then back on then reset the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT1351 Macbook pro ical does not sync with iPhone

I enter calendar events in iPhone but they don't apperar in MacBook Pro calendar.
The reverse (enter in Macbook and they appear in iphone) works..

You may have the wrong default calendar set in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  Be sure you have selected your MacBook calendar as your default.

  • Purchased music on Macbook Pro does not agree with the purchased music on iPad.

I have current versions of all software. And just bought a new iPad. When examining purchased music in iTunes on my MacBook Pro, it is pointing to current purchases over the past few years. But when examining purchases in iTunes on new iPad, it is pointing to very old purchases made several years ago. The purchases to do not agree - they are not in sync. I want them both to be in sync, or at least have both devices point to the current purchase list. Thanks in advance.

  • My MacBook Pro does not recognize my iPhone 4 when I connect with USB

As the subject line says, when I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook Pro via the USB cable, it normaaaally opens iTunes and iPhoto automatically and syncs and imports photos from the phone. But, for some reason, that doesn't happen anymore... Now when I plug in my iPhone with the USB...nothing happens.
The USB still works as a power charger. I even tried a different newer iPhone USB cable from my friend's phone...same problem. I tried both USB ports.
I update my iPhone, my Mac, my itunes, my iphoto...everything. I reset everything at least a couple times. Still no luck!
I did a Disk Utility verify check...it found no problems, the volume 'appears to be ok.'
The iPhone still syncs with iTunes over WiFi, but unfortunately I can't back up my photos from my iPhone wirelessly (I don't have iCloud set up). I want to do it via USB.
Anyone out there with any advice on how to get my computer to recognize my iPhone?
    THANK YOU!!!

Ive been struggling with this problem all day, I was trying to upload my pics and videos from my iPhone 4s (version IOS-7) and my computer didn't seem to recognize my phone. Well I finally gave up.  My iphone was plugged into my computer via USB, and my iPhoto would not open up automatically like it always had before I updated to IOS-7.
As a last ditch effort I happened to open up my software updates in the apple icon. Lo and behold, once I agreed to update my iTunes app on my mac OSX 10.6.8, it opened my iTunes and a window popped open asking me to click on 'trust this computer'. I did that, and suddenly my iPhoto opened up and filled up with all of my iphone 4s (version IOS 7.1.1) pictures and videos!  I could not find an answer anywhere online. I guess the trick is to manually open up iTunes before you attempt to upload pictures/videos from your iPhone into iPhoto.

  • Calendar – Outlook does not sync with iPhone / iTunes

I posted this question to the iphone hardware forum, however it seems to be more suited to iTunes.
I have had Microsoft Office 2003 working with iTunes and my iPhone 4 to sync my calendar and contacts for some time, and everything worked perfectly up to the other day.
Recently I upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Office 2010, and now the calendar will not sync.  Contacts seems to sync ok, but not the calendar.
I have recently gone through several iterations of upgrades for iTunes, iPhone, and other MS patches and updates.  Evrything is now up to date.  However, nothing I do changes to way that Outlook ignores the iTunes sync.
Everything worked fine until the upgrade to Office 2010.  I have changed all of the settings in both iTunes and Outlook and on the phone itself.  There does not seem to be any way to make it work.
I always wait for some time before doing any upgrade to make sure the bugs are worked out of it.  Since Microsoft Office 2010 has been out for almost three years, I would have assumed that iTunes would work with it, as it normally did with earlier versions.  (my mistake)
While the potential is there for the iPhone to ba a good business tool, the basic inability to reliably sync to Outlook (what is agrguably the most prevalent e-mail, contacts and calendar program currently in use) seems to be a relatively significant issue.
Is there any way to fix this?

I looked at the article you referenced, however it appears that the focus is to get Google calndar and Outlook to work together.  I do not use Google calendar.
The only real change to the Microsoft side appears to be the change of the version in the Outlook executable file.
Is this all it takes to get MS Office 2010 to sync with iTunes?

  • My calendar on my IMac does not sync with my iPhone 4s.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
I had no problems before. I was always able to sync from Iphone to Imac and from Imac to Iphone.

I believe this was stopped in a recent iTunes update to "force" users to sync the calendar on the Mac and the iDevice to iCloud.

  • HT2513 i cal on macbook pro no longer syncs with iphone

i used to be able to sync i-cal on my macbook pro laptop with my iphone without a problem.  i changed the setting on my iphone to sync on the cloud.  i later reverted to the original settings after i found out that my laptop won't support cloud settings.  now the calendars won't sync.  i've checked the settings on both.  any suggestions??  thanks.

    Hi CaptDavid,
The good news... or rather the peace of mind news... is that Applecare doesn't cover software. So your coverage would have no bearing on the issue at hand. But that's besides the point. Let's try a couple of things:
1.) When you go to Me.com and login, everything works just fine and everything looks ok?
2.) Do you own an iPhone or iPod Touch? If so, can you sync to MobileMe with them? If not, do you own another computer? Even if it's a PC... can you sync with MobileMe?
3.) If you make a new user account on the computer and configure that account to sync with your MobileMe information, does that work?
4.) Have you reset Sync History via iSync? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1497
Here are two other supporting articles:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1865
5.) You can use MobileMe's chat support, as a member, for some assistance. If they're unable to resolve your issue they'd probably then refer you into an Apple Retail Store or over the phone support with Applecare. As your coverage has recently expired, you might be subject to a $49 support agreement over the phone but you'd get a free Genius Bar appointment for the issue. Perhaps you can convince the Applecare phone agent that you just worked with Mobile Me support and they were unable to resolve your issue (if they can't and refer you to call Applecare). Heck, it's worth a shot.

  • ICal does not sync with iPhone via iTunes

I have installed Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air couple of days ago and the calendar stopped syncing with my iphone. I sync through iTunes as I do not wish to use iCloud. Sync is set to all calendars and all events (no restriction), but nothing goes through. Tried adding events through my iPhone or through the Macbook, no difference, they do not get across to the other device. I have checked all settings, they seem to be carried forward from Lion unchanged. Any ideas or is it a Mountain Lion fault. Please do not tell me that the only way to sync will be through iCloud!

Thank you for the well-meant advice
Sorry - none of it works
To say I am frustrated is a joke!!!!
For starters my system does not follow the logic of Z001 - the file sequence is fifferent on my PB. The only cache file I could locate was 'Calendar Cache' and deleting it made no difference
IAs a precaution I did first export my Calendar to the desktop; then I exited the Cloud; tried to do a manual sync between iPhone and PB. But watching the iTunes indicator bar reveals that the cal syn is simply not happening
    So there is a bug.
Heck, my rave has always been how flawlessly the iPhone and MB speak to each other, Mountain Lion has wrecked that.
At present the only workable solution is to dump Mountain Lion and go back to Lion.
