Calendar Permission

Hi All,
We recently migrated a customer from one hosted exchange platform to our own just using export/import of PST's. However calendar items have since become uneditable on a users mailbox..
User 1 (PA) has delegated access over User 2's calendar to makes changes etc, all was working fine before migration.
Now User 1 cannot make changes on existing calendar items for User 2, it just simply responds with NDR's saying you don't have permission.
The only change I have noticed is on the old platform the items showed as being in User 2's Calendar down the bottom of the screen, now they just show as Calendar. So they appear to be in a default and random calendar that no one has access to.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Can user2 use his/her own calendar normally? Do you mean users can make changes in their own calendars but the delegates cannot work with the managers’ calendar? Please check the problematic calendar permission by running:
Get-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity User2:\Calendar | FL
If the delegate permission is configured properly, we can try to remove the delegate then re-add it to check whether the issue continues. If the issue persists, please collect any error descriptions or event logs for further analysis.
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

  • Share Calendar & Calendar Permission Options are Greyed Out

I was trying to share my calendar with my bosses and colleagues but I couldn't. I found my Outlook Share Calendar & Calendar Permission Options are greyed out.
I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 IMAP account.
Please help me on this matter.

    Hi Taufiq,
From your description, I recommend you follow the steps below to use Outlook safe mode to determine whether the issue is related to add-ins.
    Run -> Type Outlook.exe /safe -> Click OK
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Calendar permission for cross-forest users

How can I grant mailbox folder like doctor's Outlook 2010 calendar to a cross-forest user like a receptionist.
The reception accepts and manages all booking for about 10 doctors and they used to work perfectly.  When reception complained that she started seeing Busy status for say 3 out of 10 doctors, I noticed the other 7 working calendars have DomainB\Reception
explicitly added on the Calendar permission while the 3 faulty ones don't.
    When I tried:
    Add-mailboxfolderpermission -Id 'DomainADoctor1:\calendar' -user 'DomainB\Reception' -accessrights editor
I simply get the error "The user "DomainB\Reception" is either not valid SMTP address, or there is no matching information."
Obviously, the cross-forest permission still works but I cannot make the powershell command to work.  I have also tried the ExFolder utility to no avail.  The old Exch admin has left the company.  We use Exchange 2010 SP2
    Thank you for any assistance.

Just to add more info, the reception mailbox is hosted on DomainA and it is linked to an external account DomainB\Reception.
    Alternatively, I tried:
    Add-mailboxfolderpermission -Id 'DomainADoctor1:\calendar' -user 'Reception @ DomainA.com' -accessrights editor
and the command works fine but when the Reception checks the calendar on both Outlook and OWA, she only sees "Busy" on each existing appointments and cannot add new.
For those calendars that work, the Editor permission shows "NT User: DomainB" while those that won't shows DomainB mailbox.
    Appreciate any help on this.

  • Prevent user from changing calendar permission

    Hi team,
How to prevent users from changing calendar permission in outlook. When user open calendar option in Outlook he should either he should able to view the calendar sharing tab or he should not able to make modification in calendar permission by assigning permission
    to others.

    Hi,
Agree with Andy. Exchange has no built-in feature to prevent mailbox owner to modify their calendar permissions. Since they are owners, they can set their calendar permissions.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Failing to authenticate Calendar permission in consent screen

I have written an application that uses office365 REST api's to sync calendars, emails and contacts. For OAuth during the testing phase I had created a common application in Azure AD with permissions enabled for Calendar, Mails and Contacts. Now
to push this application for production I want to create two different applications in Azure one for Contacts and mails and other for Calendar.
I successfully created the applications but when I try to authenticate Calendar sync, it shows me consent screen with permissions only for calendar and when I click "Accept" in consent screen I get this as response,

    [error_description] => AADSTS90090: A transient error has occurred.

  • Shared calendar permission problems

I am setting up a shared calendar for our office for our on-call schedule.  I need people to be able to add information to the calendar but not be able to delete anyone else's entries.  I have the settings set to "Author".
I have a recurring event set every day for our after-hours on-call schedule.  People enter their names in the notes section of the event next to blocks that I have created to designate that they will be the person on call that evening.  The event
doesn't get deleted but the names that have been entered have disappeared twice!
The notes section looks like this:
    Duty:
    Alternate #1:
    Alternate #2:
    Alternate #3:
The form is always there but the names that were entered disappear.

    Hi,
Based on my research, when if the organizer or the attendee adds notes to an occurrence, Outlook creates a meeting exception. Later, if the meeting series is updated and a full update is sent, any notes in the
    meeting exceptions will be lost.
For more information about it, please refer to Recurring meetings in:

  • Communications Express/UWC - Unwanted behaviour adding an owner of calendar

    Hello:

    SunOS calendar1 5.10 Generic_137112-03 i86pc i386 i86pc
We have noticed a weird behaviour in UWC when adding an owner in a calendar. You can add a new owner from the address book or just by typing its "name", which is actually the uid or the e-mail address. The point is that if you type an uid, for example "jlocke", the list of owners is filled correctly with "[email protected]", but if you type the entire e-mail address, "[email protected]", then the list of owners is filled with "[email protected]@domain.com", that of course leads to permissions error when jlocke tryes to do something in the calendar.
The desired behaviour is that if you type the entire e-mail address, "[email protected]", it shows an error message telling you that you must enter a uid, or that it takes "[email protected]" instead of "[email protected]@domain.com" as it is happening now.
    Thank you very much.

(I know we should patch)Yes you should. This version has any number of known issues that can cause significant problems in production environments.

The value you add to the permission list is not the email address of the user but the uid/domain of the user. In your environment uid@domain may just happen to correlate to the mail: address value.
That being said, UWC should be able to handle uid@domain in the "Name:" field -- I've logged a new issue for this problem behaviour:
bug #6917116 - "Cannot manually input "uid@domain" to the calendar permission list name field"
If you want this bug fixed you must log a Sun support request otherwise it will not be fixed.

  • Office365 shared calendars are not recognized in win7

    Dear all,
this is my experience.... I have to share the calendars with write permissions for some my colleagues, all of them have windows 7 installed and recently Office365.
I have shared their calendar giving write permission to the reception account. When I see their shared calendars from the receptionist's outlook client, no permissions are visible but they are correctly set in the respective Web App of the same account.
If I install the same account in outlook with Windows 8 everything works fine.
who can help me to solve the problem with Windows 7?
    thanks so much

    Hi,
Does the issue happen to all your Windows 7 users who is shared calendar? Are Outlook clients the same version in all problematic Windows machines? Please double check the calendar permission is set to Editor in the shared calendar.
Confirm if the shared calendar can be viewed in OWA. If the issue doesn’t happen in OWA and Outlook in Windows 8 but only in Windows 7, please change another new clean Windows 7 client with Outlook 365 to check whether the issue persists.
If the issue doesn’t happen in new Windows 7 machine, please disable any third-party mail program in old machines and create new Windows profile to have a try.

  • In Calendar, deleting one event in a recurring event deletes everything...

When I delete one event in a recurring event, calendar deletes the entire event, both past and future. I am clicking the option "delete only this event," and the rest of the recurring event doesn't disappear on my iphone 4 (linked through iCloud). The strange thing is that the rest of the recurring event comes back after leaving the calendar alone for a day or two. Is it a problem with calendar or iCloud? Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Personal opinion, the issue may be related to Calendar updating in another user side who has permission to this shared calendar.
To narrow down the issue, please do the following changes:
    1. Confirm if the shared calendar permission is set for Reviewer or higher permission for this user.
    2. Please remove this shared calendar from Calendar list and add it back to check whether the issue persists.
    3. Change Outlook to Online mode and check whether the deleted single occurrences of recurring meeting is shown in calendar or not.

  • MS Project 2013 Calendar permissions

I am looking to find a way for Project managers to edit the calendar for a particular project (for example, adding a few Saturday workdays that would not be on the company default calendar).  from what i can tell though, the PM needs to have admin level
access to create or modify a calendar.
what is the best way to go about this?  I saw that there was resource calendars as well as task specific calendars, but I was looking for something a little more generic
hope this makes sense, thanks for the help

    Hi,
You don't have to grant all admin permissions to allow Project Managers to update enterprise calendar.
You could just grant to the project manager security group under the server settings the "manage enterprise calendars" permission so they'll be able to add exceptions to ANY enterprise calendars. Note that it can be dangerous since they'll have
    access to all enterprise calendars.
    Hope this helps,

  • Calendar Items from Imported PST Files Cannot Be Modified

I have a customer that had their 2008 DC crash with no backup.  They created a new AD domain with a new name with all the same users.  Then they exported all mailboxes as PST files and imported them into the recreated mailboxes.  Now, when
trying to modify a calendar entry, they get a "Don't have permission" error.
My research says this is a known problem that has to do with an incorrect LegacyExchangeDNS attribute.  It can be fixed by using the old AD's attribute and adding it as an X500 address on the new Domain.  Unfortunately, the old DC is toast.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that all mailboxes are exported as PST files and imported to the new created mailboxes.
The PST exporting and importing may lost some permission during New-MailboxImportRequest importing. Please use
Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Editor (MFCMAPI) tool to export calendar data and import it to new mailbox to have a try. Also check the Calendar permission for the Calendar folder:

  • Exchange Admin Cannot View Full Room Calendar Permissions

We are a brand new Exchange 2010 SP3 (14.3 build 123.4) shop with Outlook 2010 (14.0.6112.5000), so no older versions of Exchange or Outlook exist in our environment.  I have full Exchange administration access to the system and Full Access to
    all room calendars.
If I open a room calendar in Outlook and view the Properties, Permissions the Default access only shows two Read options available: None and Full Details. Whereas if another Admin views the permissions it shows all four options.
So if Admin #2 views the room the Default access will show it has access to Free/Busy time, subject and location, but when I view the same room it shows Default as None since the other options are not available to me. So I am not getting a clear indication
of the real Default access nor can I set the correct access.  If I view it in PowerShell I can see the correct access.  I have cleared my Outlook cache and I am set in non-cached mode and I have even rebuilt my profile, and yet I still only see the
two options rather than all four. I can see all four options if I look at the permission of my own Outlook calendar, but if I look at any other calendar, person or room.  Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

    Hi,
According to your description, we understand that you have Full Access permission to all room calendars folder. If the Default calendar permission is set to Free/Busy time, you cannot view the exact Default permission. Instead, it shows None. It is normal
    phenomenon.
Based on my test, if the Default access permission of room calendar is set to reviewer or higher permission, you can view the
    corresponding permission in your Outlook.
I think the reason why Admin #2 can view the real default permission of room calendar is that Admin #2 may have full access permission to the room mailbox instead of room calendar. In other words, you can try to add full access permission to the room mailbox
for yourself to check whether the issue persists:
Add-MailboxPermission –Identity RoomA –User “Brit Whittington” –AccessRights FullAccess
