Calendar Problem: Past events disappeared!

I have the iPhone 4S. Earlier today, I was checking the Calendar app for info on a test I had last month, when I noticed that the event (along with another I had on the same day) were missing. I thought at first that maybe I had accidentally deleted them. But then I went onto the iCloud website, and the events were both still there. Then I took another look at the Calendar app, and saw that these weren't the only events missing.
At least 3 events from earlier this month, most of the events from last month, and everything before March that wasn't one of my contact's birthdays, have disappeared.
Current-month and future events haven't been affected, only past stuff. Everything still shows on the iCloud website, though.
I've tried checking and un-checking and re-checking the different calendars I have (3 calendars attached to iCloud account and 3 e-mail accounts) but that doesn't seem to have had any effect.
HELP PLEASE!! I'm not always by a computer, so having to login to iCloud to double-check events is going to become a pain in the you-know-what.

Try going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Sync (in the Calendars section) and set this to a longer time period.

    Hello 123Giblet,
The iPhone has a setting for how long a past event will appear in your calendar.  I found steps to help you change this setting in the iPhone User Guide:
    Calendar settings
There are several settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars that affect Calendar and your calendar accounts. These include:
•Syncing of past events (future events are always synced)
•Alert tone played for new meeting invitations
•Calendar time zone support, to show dates and times using a different time zone
When you tap on Sync, you will be given several options for how long you want past events to stay on your iPhone, and there is also an option to select All Events so that they remain on your calendar.  You can find this information on page 69 of the iPhone User Guide

  • Calendar: Archiving past events

Anyone know how I can archive past events between date "x" and date "y", and only keep the last "z" years?  I would also want pssible occasional  access to the archived past events.

The above is the attachment from that email - I forgot to include the text.
    Here it is:
"Per your request, here's the Error msg, and one of the file with which I've been having problems:
What I'm doing is exporting each of my Calendars out of my Mac Calendar App, and using iCalMaker to cut the 2007, '08, '09 & '10 events out, and leave in only the  '11, '12 and '13 events.
I'm doing this to hopefully speed up the Calendar App, which has become very slow (a lot of "Beachballs").
iCalMaker has "burped" & crashed quite a few times as I was importing a Calendar file into it (especially the larger files); but it eventually works when I try it a 2nd time with the same file.
I do hope that the Apple Upgrades coming up this Sept includes a Calendar App which has the means to easily Export Calendars which includes the ability to select the Date Range that you can export out (are you listening Apple??)

  • CALENDAR - problem entering events

Almost (but not every) time I try to enter an event on my BlackBerry Z10 calendar, I get as far as the date and time, but when I tap those tabs, the calendar flashes to the date/time selector screen and then flips back to the main screen. The information I'd entered is lost. The manual doesn't indicate what I might be doing -- or not doing -- to cause this. Any ideas out there?

    Hey DrewSnider,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Do you have any calendars set up for wireless synchronization?  Also when did the issue start?
Also try following the steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33621
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • ICloud calendar events disappearing

I have iCal on my Mac at home, synced to my iPhone, and then I use iCloud at work (from a PC). Today at work, I was looking at my iCloud calendar and several events disappeared from right in front of my eyes. However, they are still on my phone! (I can't yet check if they're on my Mac at home.) What is going on here?
I suspect that it has something to do with weekly repeating events - all the events which disappeared were in that category - but how do I get them back? My iPhone is set to sync 'all events' already.

Apple doesn't seem to be doing anything about this.  So maybe we can at least help them diagnose and fix!
Question 1:  did you all recently upgrade to Mountain Lion?  I did so a few weeks ago.
Question 2:  I noticed this problem with only SOME recurring events, mostly those that have weekly recurrence.  Events with daily recurrence have not disappeared.  Is this the same with others?
Question 3:  how to get Apple Customer Support attention???

  • Why does my calander lose past events

My calendar loses past events. Everything from 30 days ago back is gone. Do i have something set wrong?

If you are syncing with a calendar on another computer, you may have the iPad settings set to a limited number of events.  To check, go into Settings, Mai/Contacts/Calendars, and scroll down to the Calendars section.  Tap Sync and select the number of months back you wish to sync.  You may want to consider choosing All Events to have your calendar completely up to date.

  • Past Calendar events disappearing

Events being deleted automatically from calendar after 30 days?  Using iphone5s and iPad with iCloud events disappear approximately 30  days need past events on calendars.

It's part of a managing your space thing. The more calendar events you keep, the more you have contributing to the 'other' in your storage.
You can go into settings, mail, contacts and calendar and choose how far back you sync events. Mine is set to 6 months, or you can set it to all events. You just have to be aware that the more you keep the more space it takes.

  • Past events in my iphone calendar disappear when i sync to my mac, except repeating appointments. Have I got my settings wrong? I'm not very technically savvy!

    Hi,

I am having the same issue with iPhone and Outlook on WinXP SP2. It is not all of my calender meetings, only some.
I verified the timezone settings as described in this thread. Settings | General | Time Zone Support = Yes. Time Zone = Columbus, USA (Columbus, Ohio?) I also tried other cities in the Eastern Time Zone since it was not clear if Columbus = Ohio or Georgia.
My desktop computer is set to Eastern Time Zone in the Date/Time Settings of Windows XP. Hours & Minutes are in synch between iPhone and Desktop.
I have also tried the synch option under the Info tab in iTunes to replace Calendar data on the next synch. No luck.
    Suggestions?

  • Google calendar events disappear

I have been synching all of my Apple devices (iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPod Touch) using Mobil Me. I use gmail and Google calendar for all my events. Never had a problem until today. Every time I add an event to my Google calendar in iCal, the event disappears when iCal refreshes on my iMac. Other devices retain all the events. I have set up Google Calendar in iCal using CalDAV following the instructions and it has worked in the past. What's happening?

I was having mysterious issues with my iPhone iCal today. I too use gmail calendars as my hub because it is central to my work place. I have used CDAV in the past with no issues. So what I just did successfully was to delete my gmail account from the iPhone accounts preference, made sure that my MobileMe calendar was OFF, and reaccessed only the gmail account with the calendar only setting (as my work gmail is accessed by a separate account). This worked fine. In a few minutes all of my CDAV calendars loaded correctly and I'm back in business.

  • TS3999 why my events disappear in my iPad from past?

Why do iCloud erase all my past records? I sync Calendar few months after I had iPad2, and iCloud erased every events I had before the sync-date.
I input some of the important events back into my iPad. No matter how many times I typed, it disappered right away after I clicked DONE. However, it shows on my iCal & iCloud (became redundant). It is so annoy. I want to be able to see through these events on my mobile devices (same issue on iPhone 4S) when I am outside. I don't want to use my iCal or iCloud from a laptop. It is so horrible and scare (erase automately from my past records & events) and very agitate. That is the reason I stopped to sync my iPhone with iCloud (erase many important meeting records from the past).
I went to many different Apple stores, and nobody understand why do I need the past records before I sync to iCloud on my iPhone or iPad.
I saw there were many complaints. Some of the comments were very hostile (can't blame them). Nobody have problem to sync with Outlook since the software allows you to input past events, modified, and won't duplicate over and over again on the sync computer or devices. I hope there are somebody in iCloud teams can try to use Outlook once & debug such horrible rediculous action - automatically delete some or ALL events on iPhone & iPad if that is the past records before sync with iCloud!
    Thank you!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, scroll down to the Calendars section and change the sync option to something other than 'Events 1 month back'.

  • TS3999 Deleted past events from shared iCloud calendar. How can I get them back?

I have accidentally deleted all past events from shared iCloud calendars when removing from one mac. How can I get them back?

    ronylouis wrote:
i deleted notes fom my old iphone and surprised to see that they have been deleted from my new phone ..how can i get them back ...i dont have any backup??
Why would you be surprised?  You were syncing your Notes with iCloud or a Mail Account.  Synchronization means when you make a change on one device, it affects all other devices that are synched for the same purpose.  Like when you delete an email (usually) it also disappears from your other devices as well.

  • Calendar events disappear when attempting to edit or delete

I have two calendars set up on my iPhone 4s. I use a gmail account for my personal calendar, and I have my work calendar set up through exchange. The problem I have is only with my work account. Whenever I attempt to edit or delete an event from my work calendar, all the events associated with that calendar disappear. I am able to view them again by going into my calendar settings and choosing to sync only two weeks; however, any edits that I made did not save. I can then go back into settings and select sync all events. But if I try to edit or delete an event the same thing happens again. It is quite cumbersome taking these extra steps to view my calendar entries, and the calendar is basically useless if I cannot edit events.
I have deleted and reinstalled the exchange account several times, and this has not fixed the problem. I do not use iCloud to sync; everything goes directly through my exchange account.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have missed appointments for work, thinking that the blank calendar was accurate for that day.

With Quicktime Pro and Quicktime Player 7 the entire audio track can be turned off.
With iMovie 10 the audio track can be separated from the video clip
and the sound reduced to zero.

  • New event disappear on iPhone calendar

The summary of this question is below.
    [Environment]
    - iPhone IOS 7.0.4,
    - MS Exchange 2008 (using ActiveSync to see outlook mail by iPhone).
    [Problem]
Creating new event on Outlook, the event is reflected iPhone calendar correctly.
Creating new event on iPhone calendar, the event is reflected to Outlook, but the event disappear on iPhone calendar.
In the case of 1, it is correct action.
But in the case of 2, it is very strange action.
    Does someone experience similar problem?
If you have any solution of this, please let me know.
    Kind and Regards,

On the iMac open System Prerferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Calendars then reselect then restart the iMac.
On the iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on then reset the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Hopefully the event synced over all the devices.

  • When I make a new Calendar event the phone loads, and then the event disappears! How can I fix this?

On my iPhone 4 8GB unlocked (iOS 6), whenever I try to make a new event in Apples Calendar app, when I am done making the event, the phone shows a small loading circle in the top bar and when that loading circle stops the event disappears. I checked my iCloud Calendar in case it stored it there or something but no that was empty. And making an event in the iCloud Calendar app does not make it sync the event to my iPhone 4 either so I basically cannot make any events at the moment. Help!
    EDIT:
I just went into the iCloud settings and saw that the Calendar iCloud sync was turned on. So I turned it off, waited, turned it back on again and now I see the events again, and I can make them without them dissapearing immediately. Stupid bug.
