Calendar Red Badge Notifications

Hi all, new iPhone user here.
Could someone please tell why I am not getting red badge notifications on the calendar icon. This is really frustrating!

Thanks,
I don't/can't have MS exchange as the set up for outlook emails as they are via BT and in pop format 9correct me me if wrong) I only meant it was a bit of a pain as I would have thought the red badge should appear for any entry put in the calendar inrespective of the service it goes though. After all does the notification come from the info stored on the phone?
As for third party apps, I was hopeing that things like RSS and twitter items would show which they don't seem to (I am using Fee RSS and Twitbit) I don't have to many subscriptions through these so red blindness would not be a problem but it would be nivce to know when stuff come in without checking periodically.
Perhaps I am doing this all wrong do you have any hints or suggestions.
Many thanks
Andrew

  • Calendar app never shows red badges

I like the default calendar app but would like it to show red badges when there are events that I haven't looked at to check. I have seen others get these so why dont I?
Are there any other calendar apps that show the red badge?
    Mike

    Howdy Mike,
It sounds like you want a red notification badge to appear on the Calendar app which is in the dock on your Mac. You can enable this feature from System Preferences, as described in the article linked below.
OS X Mavericks: Change Notification Center preferences
    Badge app icon
Let the app show the number of notifications on its Dock icon.

  • Update notification (red badge) for iOS 8.0.2 on 4S but none for 8.0 or 8.0.1. Is this normal?

I have a iphone 4S and I use it everyday yet something comes up as being strange. When iOS 8 was released there was no red badge on the settings, it also wasn't there when the blotched 8.0.1 update came up so why is it now coming up for 8.0.2?
What's apple policy on the badge? (2 updates? 1 month from new iOS?) Can someone tell me if this is normal (update notification on the third iOS "version/update (counting 8.0 as 1st)" instead if it being there from the moment a new iOS comes out) and if you've had a similar situation please let me know.

Sorry, but that's just a ridiculous thing to say. The fact that an issue is intermittent or dependent on other variables does not mean its not an issue.  You have provided an opinion with no data and no help.  If you can't contribute to a solution, please abstain from this thread.
If a device on a network can crash a router/WAP, the issue is with that router/WAP is there is no "crash the network" command within the Wi-Fi protocol.
That's why there are networking standards; if properly adhered to they dictate what will occur when commands are received and commensurately, the only things that will happen.
Feel free to fill out the form and peruse the actual specifications of the protocol yourself if you so choose; there's no "crash network" option.

Whether the router is Apple's or another vendor's, it needs to be able to deal with whatever traffic/commands are sent to it.

  • I want the red badge to appear on my app but I don't have push notifications.

I have a crazy Client, that wants a badge notification to appear on this app, but she does not have an Urban Airship account.  I know I can get a badge if I refresh, or launch it and down make a download, and I know that only people who permit notificaitons on their devices will get it....but how can I get it to show without launching it?
If there is no way to get the badge up, can I resubmit the app and change the screenshot and get a push right from Apple of the badge?  If not, how much of the code do I need to change before I resubmit......and if I resubmit, assuming the code change - will that even force the badge?  I'm confused about what I have to change for an 'upgrade' and assumign I do those things..........do I still need Urban Airship or will the badge just appear from Apple?
Bottom line is, I need that badge on this app, and I don't know how to get it....!
    Thank you!

You're in the wrong forum. You need to post this in the developer's forum.

  • How to get rid of red badge alert in settings,  I do not want to upgrade to ios 8.0.2

I have a iphone 4s.  I have an annoying red badge alert on my settings to upgrade to 8.0.2.  I do not want the update and I do not have enough space anyway.  How do I get rid of that annoying number 1 alert on my home screen on setting?

You don't.  You can move the Settings icon to an alternate Home screen, if you'd like.  But until you update, the notification will still be there.

  • Disabling Mac OS X Dock badge notifications about additions to playlists I'm subscribed to?

I don't need to see the dock icon bounce and have a distracting red badge on Spotify just because someone added a song in one of the hundred playlists I'm subcribed to.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Update:
Go ahead and vote up this "idea" over here: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Ideas/Add-an-option-to-disable-notifications/idi-p/156288
Apparently Spotify changes things only according to the amount of "Kudos" a certain idea receives.

    This is indeed really annoying.
Shoving notifications into the user's face is never a good idea. Every single desktop application lets me turn them off, except spotify. Given the quality of the desktop application so far, this is a big flaw.

  • HT4528 red badge icon

Hey i'm just wondering why my red badge icon is not appearing anymore for my system update as well as for my app store when my updates are availiable. This has been happening from since IOS 7.1.2 and i know my apps are on in the notification center so i dont know thats causing the problem.

    HI,
I am not sure that would work.
All it holds is the Status Messages you have created and Saved
    Uploaded with Skitch!
It does not even hold the Default Messages that are held in the app itself.
Having a missing .plist at start up will cause Messages (or iChat) to recreate it.
This might be enough to get the main .plist to be rewritten and may have worked things out that way.

  • How to get rid of red badge on settings

  • Clear badge notification from Settings App

So I recetnly installed the iOS 6.0 update on my iPhone 4, problem is the badge notification (big red "1") is still showing up on my "Settings" app/icon. How do I clear it, because it is soooo annoying?!?!
    Thanks

I am VERY cautious about software updates and have therefore not updated any of my devices. I might, and I stress, might update the 4S to get Do-not-disturb, but most likely only when .01 or .1 comes out. The iPad will most propably stay on 5.1.1 as there are no real benefits for it in iOS6 over iOS5 (for the functions I use). I believe that if something is working properbly, why rock the boat?
As mentioned I gave the iPhone 4 to my parents. They are both in their 70's and only use it to make calls and send SMS messages. iOS6 will have no benefit for them and I'm not risking a 4 in perfect working order with a software upate that can cause WiFi issues, FaceTime issues and the usual battery drain. The 4 is working perfectly for them. No need to take the risk.
    Hope this helps.

  • No calendar events in notification center (at all)

    Hi,
Since I've updated to iOS 7 (I started with one of the betas), I've got no calendar events showing if I swipe down notification center.
It only shows a text saying "No activities", even though there are plenty of activities showing in my calendar app. I've restarted the phone (hard and soft), I've reset and restored the phone both from iTunes and iCloud. I've made sure that all settings that should be enabled are enabled. The weather and stock widgets are showing alright. I've tried to delete the google account I sync calendars with, and then readd it.
Yesterday I tried to restart from a factory reset. When I add the google account from a clean installation it works fine and I get calendar events in notification center. But I want to find another solution where I wont lose all my data (text messages, application data, settings, etc).
Is there anyone that has an idea on how I can fix this or if there is something else I can try?
    Thank you!

It's not user adjustable. You'll need to use the Calendar app itself for more information.

  • Mail-Red Badge in Dock won't go away...

    Hi all,
Small problem, yet annoying. Suddenly the red badge that is on the Mail icon in the dock persistently tells me I have one email, although I don't have any.
Don't waste your time asking if I am sure that I have checked all mailboxes... there is not a single unread email, yet that red 1 keeps taunting me.
I have already rebuilt each of my mailboxes, restarted the app, etc.... I have not tossed the prefs as of yet because I don't imagine this information would be stored there.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

make a smart mailbox with a single condition to show unread messages in any mailbox. see if it finds anything. also, in Mail preferences->general set "Dock unread count" to "inbox only".
If none of this helps try rebuilding the entire mail index. quit mail and eleted the file /users/username/library/mail/envelope index. start mail and let it import (this means reindex) your messages.

  • Calendar Widget in Notification not updated with shared calendar

Greetings---I'm on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and have a Google Calendar shared with me that I would like to appear in the notification pane. It seems, however, that the Calendar widget in Notifications only updates with events that are local to iCalendar. In other words, it does not update with events that are shared from a .ical file online, like a shared Google Calendar.
Note that this is different from adding a Google account to settings > internet accounts---I only have the url for a shared calendar that I do not own and cannot modify.

Rebooted and it all came in !

  • Red badge on settings icon for iPhone 5

Got the iPhone 5 delivered today and after setting everything up, I noticed the settings icon had a red badge. The red badge usually indicates there's a new iOS update available? But being that my new iPhone is already updated to iOS 6.0.2 is there any way to remove the icon?

Now, you have to restore as new without the backup using computer iTunes.
After that, sync your iTunes' content manually.
