Calendar refuses to delete multiple events?

Calendar will let me select multiple events, but will only allow me to delete the last one selected.

It will keep as far back as you set it to keep.

    Unfortunately, I don't believe that's possible.

  • Delete Multiple Events

Does anyone know ho to delete multiple events spanning a number of years on a Palm TX?

    JGurl86,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Is there a way that I can delete all the events at one time?
Create a new calendar iCal>File>New Calendar, name it as you desire, and delete the remaining calendars.
This will delete all of the events that currently exist in iCal!

  • Deleting multiple events

I have multiple New Events in 8 July 1992, How do I delete and is this a bug?

*THIS ADVICE DELETES DATA. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP (File>Back up iCal ...) BEFORE PROCEEDING.*
If you are able to use Search to isolate this one event (e.g. if you don't have others with the same title) you should then be able to select them from the results list which appears at the bottom of the screen and then choose Delete from the Edit menu.
(You might need to select a few at a time, delete and repeat - I have noticed iCal crashes sometimes when selecting items in a search result list.)
Failing that, an AppleScript should do the trick. This will delete ALL events on that day which are in the target calendar. +*If you have other events on that day, don't proceed and post back here for further advice.*+
Copy the text below, edit for your calendar name, paste it into a Script Editor document and press Run:

  • How to delete multiple events in Ical that are already passed?

I've downloaded a fixtures calendar for a football season. (It's not a subscription, it's a calendar file). i've set preferences to delete events 1 day after they finish but old entries are still showing - as far back as 6 months. Is there a way to do a smart search or master delete that can delete all 'Done' events in a calendar? There are too many to keep selecting and deleting individually.
    Thanks!

    Thats a good tip Reggie.
For anyone else reading this post, keep in mind that if you see "duplicates" with the MobileMe calendar it may mean you are seeing two separate copies of the same calendar.  Before spending time deleting individual events read this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3505

  • In Calendar I cannot delete an event, every time I try to it just freezes it and says my storage is almost full, what can I do to fix this?

A while back a friend added an event that repeats every day, but it also lasts a year. This has completely thrown off my calendar. I cannot add events or delete them. Unfortunately I have my calendar backed up to iCloud. So, I decided to try and turn the calendar backup off. Does not work, I get a loading symbol for like 10 minutes and then it is still turned on. I have no idea how to fix this and I would rather not have to completely resore my phone. Help!!!

ok, for example for my photos it say 1.9gb on the phone (before it was like 4 or more) but in backup still 4. should i just turn off camera roll in backup options?

  • How to un-sync a calendar and NOT delete ANY events?  Please help!

    Hi,
I seem to be the only one with this problem. I search all over and can't find information for what I want to do, everyone wants to do the opposite.
So basically I had a job and an iphone. I used my calendar at work for personal events and so forth. I synced the calendar on my work's exchange server to my iphone. Then I lost my job. My password no longer works, so sync fails and it keeps asking for my password and draining my battery. I try to cancel sync, and the iphone threatens to delete all my events. I don't want to delete my events, i just don't want it to keep trying to connect to my old job. How can I keep all my calendar events and not get nagged every 10 seconds to enter a password?
I do not have outlook on my home computer either.
    Thanks!

OK, so i bit the bullet and canceled my sync to my calendar at my old work.
My old calendar events are now gone. All of them. The stuff added through my outlook at my old work is gone. The personal stuff added on my iPhone directly is gone. The stuff added on my phone after it stopped syncing with my old work is gone. My calendar is COMPLETELY EMPTY now.
Can someone explain this to me?

  • Cellphone calendar won't delete recurring events

I have an LG Cosmos 2, and lately it won't let me delete calendar events that are recurring events. When I try to, a message appears that says "can't insert this exception" when I choose "just this event". It has only started doing this recently, and I'm doing nothing different. What's causing this?

Thank you for the information, tthompson515!
Are you able to delete normal events that are not recurring? If this issue persists, we may need to backup the phone and complete a factory reset. Here is how: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/31087/
Contacts can be backed up with Backup Assistant.

  • On iPhone 5 (iOS 7), calendar alerts are 'deleted' after event occurs

This seems to be new(ish) behavior and is increasing in frequency.
I have an iPhone 5 and am on iOS7. Outlook is my default calendar. (I have already checked all my settings related to alerts; that isn't the issue.)
    What's happening is this:
I set a meeting or "event" -- with an alert -- in my calendar (Outlook) on the iPhone; there are no other attendees.
I get alerted at the appropriate time.
When I go back later to move it to later in the day or another day (let's say it's an errand I still need to run), the alert I set initially is no longer there, so I have to re-enter that. Almost every time.
(This doesn't seem to happen to iCloud events, of course. Thank you Apple.) Anyhooo.... this just doesn't seem like expected behavior and not something I used to experience. And it's not what I *want* to have happen. I want the original alert to still stay "embedded" in the original event.
    Help?
    thanks!

  • How to delete duplicate events in iCal

Somewhere along the line of upgrading, syncing, etc. with MobileMe we had, no joke, thousands of the same events duplicated.  We started out trying to shift-click to delete multiple events at a time, but since it is syncing with MobileMe everytime this is done, it was taking forever.  So, I went to View menu, Show Search Results. Then, did a search in the top right corner of iCal.  All the duplicates appeared in the Search Results screen at the bottom of the pane.  Then, within that pane, you can shift click and delete all/multiple events more easily - way more easily.  Hope it helps someone.

    Thats a good tip Reggie.

  • How to automatically delete iCal events

I've finally gotten to a "technical place" where I have an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone for my wife and I.  Life is good!!
I've made the switch to iCloud and now manage my calendar on all devices, but I can't seem to find how to set up my calendar to automatically delete old events.
I would assume that events that were created as the "start" of a repeating event should not be deleted, but those events that I create as non-repeating have little or no value to remain.
Is there a way to have iCal automatically delete events in the past?
    Jim P.

    Jim,
Log into iCloud.com, open the Web App Calendar, click on the Prefereces cog, and make the appropriate selections in "Advanced."

  • Deleted recurring events still show up on iPad/iPhone/Macbook Calendars

Trying to view several calendars for the purpose of project management.  Here is the problem step by step:
    1) If I am UserA and have  my calendar set up as Exchange or CalDav with FULL rights, I can add, delete or edit all events as needed.  I can add recurring events and DELETE one or more occurrences of the recurring event and have THAT show up correctly on my iPad.
    2) If UserB sets up his calendar and gives me read access, I can SUBSCRIBE to his calendar using normal "other / caldav" subscription settings and view it properly.  No problem.
    3) If UserB sets up a recurring event (lunch meeting at noon every Monday), that shows up properly on my iPad.  No problem.
    4) If UserB is going to be out of town or decides to cancel his lunch meeting for some other reason, he can on his own machine (Outlook, Mac Calendar, iPad with Exchange full account) delete that event.  No problem for HIM.
    5) On MY iPad, the subscribe calendar never shows anything different.  The same recurring events continue to display even if UserB has delete one OCCURRENCE of the event.  This IS a problem.  My view of his calendar is now incorrect.  Yeah, yeah, one meeting one day is not a problem.  But multiply that by several users, multiple deletions of recurring events, and suddenly the whole shooting match is out of whack.
    6) I can refresh the calendar to my heart's content, but nothing changes.
    7) Here's the kicker:  I can DELETE the subscribed calendar and RESUBSCRIBE to it.  This forces a completely fresh download to my iPad.  Doesn't change a thing.  The same recurring events still override ANY deletions that the user made to individual instances of the events.
In looking at the raw ICS file which I can download via a web browser, an entry might look like this:

You can easily see that the EXDATE shows a deletion for 2013-02-25 as well as other dates.  Doesn't matter.  They STILL show up on the iPad and in the Mac OSX Calendar.
I consider this a bug.  I hope an Apple employee sees and responds to this.  I would welcome any thoughts, workarounds or suggestions that could help with this.
Yes, I can tell users to only put INDIVIDUAL events on their calendar.  But, let's face it.  It's easier to put a recurring event and delete one or two instead of putting 50 recurring events for the whole year.
And, of course, Outlook displays things properly as do similar CalDav clients.

Exact same issue here. Individual events deleted from a recurring appointment continue to show up in Calendar (OS X 10.8.2).  Same events do not show up on calendar if viewed via outlook from my desk PC or view outlook web app from anywhere.
    Clearly a bug.

  • Synching multiple calendar entries and not displaying events properly

At my work we have Exchange 2003 and all the latest patches / service packs. We setup to synch via SSL on the device. Plus we use Outlook 2003 and 2007 in our environment. Email comes over although delayed at times and contacts, but the calendar is giving us the most issue. Here are the two problems:
    1. Synching is not fully talking to Exchange. We create a new calendar entry so that Outlook and iPhone show the event. We then delete it in Outlook and when it synch's it goes back to Outlook. We have even seen multiple events doubling up and trippling up. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix?
    2. The calendar view is missing many appointments that I think I found a fix for in the discussion boards, but wanted to mention the two main areas we're having trouble with.
For people who use the phone in an enterprise environment, what do you feel is the best configuration to use / setup process you followed to have the least amount of issues for the iPhone and using it not trough iTunes but synching via cell network?

Open up Font Book and select all the fonts and try a "validate fonts."  You have a duplicate or corrupted font on your system.
