Calendar reminder tones

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have a lumia 635 and have changed the calendar reminder tone to play a proper song. However, it only plays for about 2 seconds so if I have put my phone down somewhere chances are I won't hear it. Is it possible to set it to play for longer, maybe a minute, and if so, how? My previous Asha 201 played until I switched it off!
I have also seem some threads of people complaining about not being able to choose when the reminder plays and I would like to add my voice to that campaign. Again, on the Asha 201 it was completely customisable for each event.

snowfan,
go in to Profiles - advanced -active profile -second option is calender there you can set tones for your appointments/reminders both in holster and out.

  • Calendar reminder tone without keyboard clicks

I'd like to use my iPod touch as a PDA. This means that I want to use the calendar and especially the reminders so I know when a meeting is coming up.
I can't allow my iPod to click happily away when I'm in a meeting, typing notes into the on-screen keyboard.
Is it possible to turn on audible reminders tones on the external speaker while keeping the keyboard clicks silent?

Not possible. Sound effects (which include both key-presses and alerts) are either all on (choice of headphones or speaker) or all off.
You can submit a feature request for separate controls:

  • E71 (S60) Calendar reminder alarm too long (1 minu...

Using an E71, but suspect this is an S60 issue:
Why does the Calendar reminder alarm last for an entire minute repeat the tone continuously until 60 seconds have elapsed? While other alarms like sms, email only invoke the tone once?
As an ex-Palm Treo user, I was used to being able to set the number of times I can repeat the tone (e.g. 1, 2 ,3 times).
How do I configure the phone such that the calendar reminder only triggers the (e.g. beep) tone, 2 or 3 times? I couldn't find any config on that. Is there any work-around or 3rd party software that can do this?

I also have this. My outlook calendar is the key and I like to have reminders. The fact that the alarm goes of during 1 minute sound is terribly annoying, I'd just like to have a reminder with a SMS-like sound, something I can customize at least (sound + duration + number of times it repeats...).
Anyone has info about this? I am using a E71 too.

  • Apple calendar reminder is really poor

Apple calendar reminder is really poor, it makes a beep ones and then its gone... pleeeease apple, include the option that the user will be reminded until canceling the reminder. I have never forgot so much things as when I bought the Iphone..
And on the locked screen I would like to have all my calendar meetings for the complete day.
now it only shows the current calendar meeting that just happends, and only for a short time... then it goes away.
When I put something in my Calendar then I want to have this as a "to do" list for the day..
Pleeease Apple, I like your phone a lot, but Pleeeeeease lets help out and make the calendar usefull.
I am used to have Nokia, and there it was good. And all my friends have the same opinion.
Lets bring Iphone to the leading position in the market!
    Kind Regards Fredrik

Many thanks for your reply :-))
Calendar alarm tone can be configured
Settings > Sounds > Calendar Alerts
-yep, this is not the big problem
You can set the alarm before the event twice.
    -how? :-)
Use Reminder app for your To-Do list.
-Does Reminder app sync with the Calendar? I add most of the reminders in outlook on the computer..
There are tons of Calendar apps in the App Store which might suit your particular needs.
    -found no one that works...
The iPhone is already leading in the smart phone market (in revenue)
-Nop.. most other smart phones has this functions... only apple is 7 years behind... (I had it perfect on my nokia)
By the way, there's no apple here, just us users.
    -sad....

  • IPhone 5, iCloud calendar reminder issue

When I use the iCloud calendar on my iPhone 5 and make an event with a reminder set to "on time of event", it will sometimes just beep and flash a notice on lock screen for a few seconds and then the notice disappear from lockscreen.
Sometimes though, everything works as it should and the notice is still there on lockscreen till I unlock the screen (or the event is over).
All settings in notice center and mail/calendar is correct.
When I use google calendar it always works!
The problem was there from iOS 6.0 and is still there after update to 6.1
I have been in contact with apple support who couldn't find any help at the moment.
More people seem to have this according to this site: http://forums.imore.com/ios-6/244349-ios-6-calendar-reminder-issues.html

Update: The problem occurs when I have connected my iCloud acount with calendar enabled on my iMac.
It's like the iPhone 5 thinks I have seen the notice on my iMac and therefore removes it from the phone.
This happens even if my iMac is locked/lockscreen.

  • Is there a way I can have Siri speak my reminders instead of just receiving the reminder tone?

Is there a way I can have Siri speak my reminders instead of just receiving the reminder tone?

To do stuff like that will always need custom coding and things like API work. You will never be able to use Muse for that, its a basic site design tool that can hook up to BC modules. You will need to use coding software and have custom API work done for things like this.

  • Calendar alarm tone 6230i

Hi, I'm sorry if this subject has been covered elsewhere; I did check and couldn't find a direct reference.
Question is: On a 6230i (an excellent 'phone) how do you change the calendar alarm tone. The default setting is very melodic but is 1. not loud enough and 2. not "aggressive" enough to always get my attention when in an environment that is a it noisy (driving for example). Any help would be much appreciated.

Well? How is it done, anyone?

  • E52 two things - calendar reminder and text sendin...

    Hello.
I'd like to ask if it is possible to make calendar reminder on the home screen display only events from the very same day and not from the future days?
Also - in s40 phones it was possible to cancel text sending during sending. I mean until the text was actually sent I was still able to cancel it. Can I do the same in s60?
    Somehow I can't find it...
    Regards,
    DonAndress
    --== Nokia E52 on 034.001 - working fine ==--

Thanks, mate, for your hint but unfortunately you seem to be mistaken. If by 'red" button you mean the end-call button then I do this every time because I don't want to wait for the phone to show me the inbox. And I used to do it even before you gave your input. So for me that's not the correct answer.
As for the reminder - I didn't understand that.
Let me clarify what I would like to achieve. I put meeting entries in the calendar for let's say every second day. So when I look at the calendar reminder on the main screen, I would like to see the entry only from the current day and not for next days. Is that possible?
    Regards,
    DonAndress

  • 6820 calendar alarm tone

Anyone know how to set the Calendar alarm to No tone? The only way I have been able to do this is to select the Silent profile What I want is to have the General profile selected but with a silent Calendar!

I have the very same problem on my 6230i. Of course I want to be reminded from my PC in the office when I use Outlook. Therefore all calender entries have the reminder switched on. After synchronizing with the handset I get audio reminders also from my phone which of course I don't want because it is pretty annoying to get reminded in the middle of the night that someone is having birthday ...
Many people have this same problem. I browsed through the web and there is no solution for nobody. So please Nokia add this feature to the PC Sync software.
In my misery I even started to writing a Outlook Plugin that removes the audio part of the reminder (but not the entire reminder). Syncing with the handset still resulted in audio alarms on the handset. I am really in pain here.

  • Audio Calendar Reminder

I can set a reminder for my calendar entries, but it is visual only.  If I'm not looking at the phone, I miss it. This is new since I uploaded latest upgrade to version 4.6.08 of the Pearl 8220 flip.  I used to get an audio tone.
Also, if there is a way to change the audio on message notification.  That also changed and is now just a quick blip and that's it.

  • Calendar & Reminder Alert.

Is there anyway the meeting notificatoin recived plays another alert music for when the meeting reminder comes up?

Hi, the only one I've come across is fortunately a great app, designed well with tons of common sense functionality lacking in the pathetic iOS calendar. Unfortunately it is $3, of the 200 apps I own, only 3 of them aren't free, and the $3 is more than worth it since it is critical functionality as well as a great app design.
It is called CalAlarm (Calendar Alarm) by DevArt in the app store. It supports syncing with multiple calendars, like from Google, Exchange, Outlook, 'internet' calendars like US holidays - actually the synching is through the iOS iCalendar, but then in CalAlarm you can exclude specific calendars if desired.
In addition to true repeat alarm until acknowledged (Every minute - developers say Apple iOS prevents user defined like repeat every 5 minutes), the alarms have Snoozes once you acknowledge that include snoozes of 1-3-5-10-15-20-30-45-60-90 minutes and 2h-3h-4h hours not to mention user custom snoozes like whatever you want, any minutes from 1-15 then 5 minutes increments out to hours and days for the snooze, for instance 12 minutes or 1 day 3 hours and 25 minutes snooze just to illustrate functionality, if you mind works that way...
Alert settings prior to event time are similar and can be customized as described for Snoozes, and you can set alarms for as many as 10 alarms prior to event (Although I believe I saw that Exchange for instance has its own limit of 2 possibly, so limitations may come from type of calendar syncing with) - like 1 day, 12 hours, 6 hours, 45min, 30min, 15 min, custom 12 minutes, 5 minutes, time of event.  Yes, all separate from the Snooze function while acknowledging the alarm.
Check it out in the app store and their web site. Don't work for them, don't know them, blah blah blah. Enjoy!

  • How to set a calendar reminder for the last Friday of every month?

I need to set a reminder to go off on the Monday following the last Friday of every month. I could settle for a reminder on the last Friday of every month and then delay the reminder by a couple of days, but I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone know how to do this?

I found an App that solved my problem called "Calendar Tools"
It is a plug in that allows you to have custom repeat rules.
    Check it out!
