Calendar Request: Exchange to MobileMe

Hi,
I'm trying to send calendar meeting requests to a mobile me account but the email on the iphone simply comes up as ics attachments with no way to open them.
Has this chestnut of a problem been solved?
Many thanks in advance for any help...

So they make it compatible with Exchange, then its not compatible with MobileMe, Outlook 2002, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, TBird and a whole range of others.
Not so daft actually - adopting a proprietary Microsoft format as a standard is rarely a good thing.
Actually its already highly compatible for 99.9% of users who keep two or three telephone numbers. More than that per user is unusual.

  • Multiple calendars without exchange or mobileme

I don't have access to an exchange server. And after using mobileme for a while, I don't think it's work $99 just to be able to have more than one calendar, which is all I'm using it for.
Is it possible to sync more than one calendar with the iPhone? I have Outlook 2007

Yes. Just create multiple calendars in Outlook and they will sync

  • Setting up two calendars, Microsoft Exchange and MobileMe

I tried searching the forum and could not find the instructions. If they are there, please do post the link because it means I used the wrong search terms.
I keep hearing that you can have both a Microsoft Exchange calendar and MobileMe calendar on the iPhone. So I finally signed up to get my Microsoft Exchange activated at work. In iCal, I do have about 14 calendars (which I essentially use as categories) that are all synced to my iPhone through MobileMe. The instructions to setup the connection to the Exchange server, however, are very clear that once I activate the Exchange calendar, it will delete all the contacts and calendar entries currently on my iPhone. Since all my personal stuff is synced through MobileMe, I am wary of activating the calendar without step-by-step instructions about how to get both calendars on my iPhone, especially if syncing might then delete from MobileMe and my desktop.
Any help or links to instructions elsewhere that I missed is appreciated.

After enabling syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account on an iPhone, if you turn Contacts and Calendar events off for over the air syncing, the contacts and calendar events downloaded from and being kept synchronized with your MobileMe online address book and calendars will be erased from your iPhone, but this does not touch your MobileMe online address book and calendars. The same when deleting a MobileMe account from an iPhone.
When you first enabled syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, you should have been provided the same warning message. This deletes all contacts and calendar events created and stored locally with the iPhone and/or that were being synced direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
Are you still syncing contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? Have you done this since turning Contacts and Calendar events on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone?

  • Calendar request sent from iCloud accounts to my exchange account only show in my iCloud account.

Yo! I have a MacBook Pro 15" running Yosemite 10.10.2. When someone sends me a calendar invite from an iCloud account to my work (Exchange) account/email address the request only shows on my personal iCloud account and calendars and I cannot move these requests to my work (Exchange) calendars. I made sure that my work email address is no longer attached to my iCloud account, but the calendar request still only go to my iCloud account.
When someone sends me a calendar request from an exchange account to my work exchange account, I receive the request on my work exchange calendar and nothing shows in iCloud.
    Help!

You can set up an email rule on icloud.com to do that without having to use Gmail.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2650.

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Accepting Calendar requests, not being sent.

When accepting calendar requests send by people, the status in the appointment shows that I have accepted, great! However, in the mail app, the acceptance email remains in the drafts folder. Even after going into the drafts folder and re-sending this acceptance, it acts like it is being sent (as in, there are no errors), but it remains in the drafts, and there is nothing in the sent items.
My concern is that the original sender of the request, is not getting the confirmation that I have accepted.
    Thank you in advance.
    Dan

I'm having the same problem. I've seen this happen when accepting or declining the invite. These invites are coming to me from an exchange account. Any info would be appreciated.

  • IOS version 6.1.3 Calendar Request Update Issue

I am having a new issue in my environment with IOS devices and Exchange.  We run Exchange 2007 SP3 in a WIndows 2003 Domain.  Our issue involves Calendar requests not being successfully updated.
    Problem Scenario:
I send a meeting request from my iphone (IOS version 6.1.3)
The invitees accept and I get properly notified of their acceptance.
Later, I go to Outlook and modify my meeting request
The invitees get notified of the change but I do not get an updated response from them.
In the calendar entry their response remains the same as their initial response before any changes were made regardless of whether they change their response or not.
Please note that this issue does not exist on any of our other mobile devices i.e Blackberry, windows mobile, android.
Is there a fix for this?

Only the iPod 5th generation can update to iOS 7. If you have an earlier model then you cannot update to iOS 7.

Upgraded to Mavericks. Calendar.app asks for password to sync calendar to Exchange account. Exchange server rejects password.  Had to go to Outlook (ugh!) in order to work (this suck!).  Please help!

Wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same problem. Had to go back to Outlook which feels ancient. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Does anyone know how to change where incoming (via mail) calendar requests go on my MacBook? Mine insist on going to Entourage, which I don't use any more. I've tried setting the default calendar in iCal preferences. Doesn't help. Bugs me. Can you help?

I know this email is confusing and really hard to understand...perhaps now you will know how i've been feeling--lost and confused with all the mis-information, with a hit and miss phone, and out of time with all the 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs EACH wasted on this issue.
On top of all this, I can't even find out how to file a complaint with anyone higher up than Customer Service.
I hate to tell you this, but you didn't write an email. You wrote a discussion post on the Verizon Wireless Community forum which is a public peer to peer forum. Unfortunately since you didn't mark your post as a question, the VZW reps that roam this community won't ever see your post. Before you re-post it, don't. Duplicate posts get removed from the community.
I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. Second which Samsung Galaxy mini model did you purchase? The S3 mini or the S4 mini? Did you do any research prior to deciding on this device. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

  • HT2513 I am having time zone issues with certain calendar requests

There are certain calendar requests I receive via calendare attachment via email that do not align to correct time based on originating time zone.   Currently I am in the Central Time Zone and these certain requests come from Eastern Time Zone users.  I have looked at time zone settings and all settings appear correct.   However, when I look at calendar request to edit the request, it shows that the time zone is central time zone in request.

  • Will CF9 cfexchangecalendar access public calendars in Exchange Server 2007?

We need to create something in CF9 that will allow us to access public calendars in Exchange Server 2007. I've Googled it but only come up with dead ends. Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into the same situation recently, and found out that you need to make sure InternalClientsRequireSSL is set to false.
To verify: Run Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl Identity, *ssl
If it is true, try setting it to false.

  • Get Public Calendar from Exchange

The "experts" said it can't be done, but we downloaded Add2Exchange from diditbetter.com and set up syncing relationships between our Private calendars and our Public calendar, where all our corporate appointments are kept. Now our Public info syncs with our iPhones. GREAT STUFF! You also can use the software to sync Private/Public Contacts and Tasks.
We are in our 21-day trial period, but it looks like we will be purchasing this Exchange add-in. If you need iPhone access to your Public folders, have your Exchange Administrator look into the program.
Just thought I'd share this for those who want to know how to sync with Public folders.
BTW, I have hated the iPhone since getting it last year, but the 2.0 software has significantly changed my opinion. It's pretty darned cool stuff now.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add a public folder outlook calendar to a SharePoint site.
I recommend to overlay an Exchange calendar on a SharePoint calendar.
There are two articles for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2010, it still works for SharePoint 2013.
Overlay a SharePoint calendar with a calendar from Exchange or SharePoint
    SharePoint and Exchange Calendar together
In addition, you can manually drag and drop the appointment from your personal calendar to the SharePoint calendar.

  • Local Calendar and Exchange Calendar

I have a Local calendar and Exchange calendar in iCal. I don't really need the local calendar, is it OK to delete it?
The reason I don't want the Local calendar is that some appointments come through on the Local calendar and cannot be moved to the Exchange calendar. This means they aren't synced to my iPhone.
    Thank you,
    Rod

If you don't need the local iCal calendar, simply delete it. There's nothing wrong with only using the Exchange calendar.

  • IPhone 5: invitations with Google calendar via exchange don't work

    Hi,
I haven't got a solution for the following issue- may be you do:
I'm using my Google calendar via exchange in my iPhone5. It is the main calendar. Sync works fine. But when I'm trying to send invitations to contacts or e-mail-adresses the invitees recieve no e-mail to reply. Funny is when I change for example the starting time of the event invitees receive a notification that the meeting has been rescheduled.
Is there anyone outhere struggling with the same problem? Any tips&tricks for me?
    Thanks in advance
    Patrick

I have done the same thing for Calendar, and yes that seems to work OK if you are ok with 'fetch' which being a personal phone, push is not necessary.
However, Contacts is still a problem. Google Sync website says to use CardDav but my iPhone refuses to 'validate'. Eventually it produces a message saying 'unable to validate' and something about the option of turning off SSL but I won't do that....
Using Google has all of a sudden become too difficult, not sure why they're trying to alienate iOS users, I get the whole Android/iOS battle but this seems a bit of dirty tactics to me...anyway, all they'll basically achieve is driving me over to icloud for everything, I'm not going to buy an Android phone because they won't allow me to sync contacts from Gmail to my iPhone...
