Calendar resets to dec 31, 1969

Everytime I shutdown/ restart, iCal and computer's date and time reset to 1969. I have to reset the date and time everytime. Any ideas why?
iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Could be something to do with the small battery on the motherboard that provides power to retain this type of data. You should get this checked-out.

  • Downloads Date blank (actually Dec 31, 1969)

When downloading files using Safari (Download Linked File As...), the resultant file has a date of Dec 31, 1969, when viewing in a Terminal Window using the "ls -lrt" command. The File appears in the Finder with a Modified Date of "------". The same file downloaded using Firefox has correct Modified Date (Today's date) in the Finder Window. Has anyone else noticed this behavior and is there a fix for it? I'm using Version 4.0.3 (4531.9) of Safari.

Instead of using Kodak's app try using Image Capture (it's already loaded on your system) and drop using the Kodak product. If you can't find Image Capture you can launch it (and any app) by typing Command + Spacebar then type the first few letters of the app and Spotlight will locate it for you.

  • Wed, Dec 31, 1969

After I published my iCal, all I see is
    Published: Wed, Dec 31, 1969 | America/Chicago.
I have seen 7 posts in regards to this topic. Is there a solution I can find from the iCal forum?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mel

Laurent was a deaf student when he was in France. He moved to America to teach a deaf girl back in 1700's. Now, we, the Deaf people, are exciting to hear the news about the new Deaf Town named after him.
Since we are in the hearing world, we need to say the "Sign Language Community" to make hearing people to feel they are welcome. If you visit the local Deaf club near your home and ask someone who already heard about Laurent, SD., someone would say the Deaf Town or Deaf Community.
Deaf town or community is open to anyone who uses sign language. They can be parents with deaf child(s), sign language interpreters, spouses, etc. If there are few people who knows sign language in the town, we would not call it a Deaf town. "Sign language community" is not a politically correct. Let's wait and see.
Trust me on this issue, Mr. Dancin' Brook. I am a member of the deaf community for many years and they are my people, my culture, and my language.

  • Empty Threads dated Dec 31, 1969 7:00pm  HELP!

Within the last few days this issue has started.
I delete a text conversation and it drops to the bottom, appears empty and shows the date of Dec 31, 1969 7:00pm.
My conversation list is growing.  I'm using the stock sms not Handcent or Go....
    Anyone else having this issue?
I've checked out other forums and there appears to be people having the same problem but no answers yet.
    Thanks.

yes, there are a number of threads about this issue on this forum, with various fixes offered; however, I don't believe anything has been resolved to date, unfortunately

  • Help- My comp resets the date to Dec 31, 1969!

Im up for suggestions. Can anyone help, please? My computer shuts off a few mins after I unplug my adapter. When I turn it back on, I see a error message saying the date and time is Dec. 31 1969. This only happens when I am running on battery power. The battery still has plenty of power. Any help would be apreciated.
    Thank you

If you have never done so, I would look at replacing the back up battery. Some have the 922-5767 and others have different batteries. Go to the Apple menu and pick "About This Mac". In the dialog box that comes up there's a button for more info. Select that and it will tell you what model of Mac you have. It may tell you what backup battery you have, I don't know for sure not having a PowerBook. From there it is straight forward to finding the battery type. There also are scads of threads about testing and replacing your battery. I use MacTracker to give me most of all the info I need on the hardware in my and other's Macs.

  • TS4337 Why are the colors for my calendar reseting to a color I never chose?

Why are the colors for my calendar in iCal reseting to a color I never chose?  It won't stay blue when I choose that color and keeps changing to a custom lavendar color on its own....  Incredibly annoying...

There doesn't seem to be a one-size-fits-all answer, because what works for one printer doesn't necessarily work for another, and I don't have your printer so I can't advise on specifics...
However, perhaps we can discover a set of settings that will work...
If you File - Print, choose Photoshop Manages Colors, in the Printer Profile section do you see profiles specific to your printer (e.g., with the name Kodak in them)?
If so, choose one of them that seems appropriate given the paper you're using.
If not, try choosing sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
Now, before you continue, press the [Print Settings...] button.  This brings up the printer driver dialog.  You may have to go through [Advanced] buttons or whatever, but what you're looking to do here is to disable the printer driver's color management logic.  In other words, if you can find a color-management / ICC profile handling section, set it to "no color management" or equivalent.  OK back out to Photoshop's print dialog, then press [Print].
The key here is that if Photoshop manages the color transforms, the printer driver should not be set to do so - or vice versa.
If you're presented with the printer driver's dialog again, double check that the settings you chose above are still set, for good measure, and try a test print.

  • My Calendar Reset

I just noticed today that my calendar suddenly erased all my entries, and I'm now unable to entere them in.  The + sign in the upper right of the screen is greyed out and I can't use it.
Last week I had all my contacts evaporate as well.  This was about a week after "upgrading" to the new iOS 7.  What's going on with my calendar?  I haven't tried syncing my phone to my computer yet, but am about to try that as soon as I've finished typing this.  Please help.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I tried it, but it didn't help.  I finally got a customer service "specialist" from Verizon on the line, and ended up going to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.  After doing that the phone powered off and then back on.  It reset all my settings, but didn't erase any of my data.  All my calendar events magically came back, and all my contacts magically returned as well.  What a relief!!!  I've had to re-select the ringtones I want, and reselect the wallpaper pictures I had set for my lock screen and home screen.  But otherwise this issue is now resolved!!!
Not sure why this happened.  Any speculation or thoughts?  Thanks again.  Hope this helps someone else if they have the same issue.

  • Calendar reset in iPhone 4S

Hi Apple. I was using my new iPhone 4S and I accidentally synced it with my iMac. Almost everything that I didn't want to sync, SYNCED, like my calendar, music, and more. I already took out all of it, except for the calendar events. Is there any way that I can delete all the events fast from my brand-new and gorgeous iPhone 4S.

I have the same problem, ALL my contacts, etc. were transferred to my new I Phone 4S! I don't want them there and don't know how to get them off my phone, when I try it tells me "It can't because they are came from my old phone which synced with my computer! Frustrating, if you get an answer to this can you please share with me?
    thanks!

  • Why does Firefox Security Updates 3.6.8 & 3.6.9 say installed on Dec.31, 1969? Details link doesn't work. The 3.6.7 was installed on July 21, 2010.

I saw a quick Firefox notice at the lower corner of my screen about security updates available or being installed so when I checked to see what they were, I found an installed update 3.6.7 on 7-20-2010, and the next one 3.6.8, said installed on 12-31-1969, the next one 3.6.8 says installed on 12-31-1969, and the last one 3.6.10 installed on 9-16-2010. I've clicked on the details link but nothing happens. Firefox has been acting a little strange lately (won't get out of Firefox when I click out of it unless I shut down my laptop, using 100% CPU and freezing so I have to shut down through Task Manager) can it be some kind of bug/glitch?

Firefox safe mode is meant for diagnostic purposes and not for permanent usage.
Possible suspects can be the BitDefender extensions (BitDefender QuickScan, BitDefender Antiphishing Toolbar) and plugin (BitDefender QuickScan Web Netscape Plugin)
You can also remove the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension.<br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java#Multiple_Java_Console_extensions
Disable the Java Quick Starter extension: Tools > Addons > Extensions
Control Panel > Java > Advanced tab > Miscellaneous >Java Quick Starter (disable)
See http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml - What is Java Quick Starter (JQS)? What is the benefit of running JQS? - 6.0
If it does work correctly in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />

  • Calendar resetting to GMT

Events in my calendar are changing from Eastern time to GMT. This occurs when I open the event after I have saved the event in iCal. I believe I have narrowed it down to events recorded against my gmail calendar.
Any suggestions on how to prevent this from occurring? I'm missing meetings.
    Thanks.

    Too bad it didn't work.
I did a search too and found this Discussion thread:
How do I stop iCal from changing my gCal events to UTC time zone when entering new events?
Ignore the green "answer" part because it doesn't apply to 10.6.8. Instead, do what signenoerly suggest:
    I had the same problem.
When I entered an event in Calendar for my google calendar it switched to UTC.
    What I did was:
Go to the Preferences in calendar: Preferences > Advanced > uncheck "Turn on timezone support"
After doing that it all worked like a time.
A few people have suggested that this also plays a part in it, but it doesn't influence anything on my part:
System Preferences > Date & time: "Set date and time automatically". For me it doesn't matter if this i checked or unchecked. It works either way.

  • My iPod date is dec 31 1969. Have not used in a long time cannot get it to do anything

    Need help to update phone

    Settings - General - Date & Time
You can get it to set automatically, which will use location services to find out your time zone and update the time. Or you can turn this off and set it yourself.

  • System Date Reset to Dec. 2000 + Wifi Password/Choice Lost

Does anyone know why this might have happened?
I read somewhere about something called PRAM being involved and needing to replace a battery, but then another post said MacBook Pros don't have this?? My apologies but I'm not overly tech-savvy.
    I have a 15" MBP Late-2009 model, 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, with Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    Many thanks!!

  • Date and time says Dec. 31, 1969

My ipod touch has a date of Dec, 31, 1969 and it will not change to the present, anyone else had this problem or can anyone help to fix it.  Thank you

I had the same thing happen to me and for some reason when I turned off the Wi-Fi connection I was able to reset the time and date. After I turned the Wi-Fi connection back on, everything worked fine again.

  • Calendar Settings reset after reboot

    Hi,
Could anybody please check if you have the same issue on your phone?
Sony Calendar resets settings after reboot.
For example, if I set "Week starts on" = "Monday" and reboot the phone, this settings will be back to "Sunday" (which is the default).
I am now running Calendar 20.0.A.2.5, but I believe this bug was there before as well (even on my old Xperia V, I believe)
P.S. I found this topic, but either I didn't understand the solution correctly or it doesn't work for me... I tried to disable the Calendar app, but it didn't help in any way...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I will forward this internally for further investigation. I will update you as soon as i have more information.
But as a possible workaround, i suspect you have selected a country/region under Settings -> Language & input -> Language where the week normally is set to start on Sunday like English US? If you are in the Netherlands but want the phone on english you could try setting it to English UK instead to avoid this until i have more information.
