Calendar sending out multiple meeting request updates

When I send a meeting request to a DL all the people in the DL are getting multiple no action required updates after the accept the original request. I noticed that as long as I keep my original request in my inbox it will not send updates but as soon as I delete it all users in the DL get a no action required update. I have deleted my IPhone Exchange account and recreated my Outlook profile and still no luck.

Same problem here, after the 3.0.1 update though i cant confirm its not just 3.0 in general. no fix other than to roll back to 2.1

  • Business iCal sending out multiple calendar invites - one calendar and one account, 2 people using it for work

    First question:
My boss has a Macbook Pro (iPad & iPhone), I have a Dell and iPad.  We use his iCal for our work calendar and my Outlook is logged into his iCal so that I can load appointments & send them out to clients.  He obviously has access to the same calendar so that he can also load appointments.
We have realised that sometimes the meeting invite, although I only send ONE invite out, will send 6 invites to a person. Here below you will see the icons that appear next to the 6 invites that the person that receives it sees next to the invites. It is therefor 3 types of emails/invites that are each sent out twice to the client.  This is obviously not ideal. Could it be that I must not include my boss in the invites (as it is already his calendar sending out the invites), or what could it be that I am doing wrong?
    Second question:
How can I ensure that replies (Yes/No/Maybe/Comments) appear in the iCal meeting, as people reply, but those replies I have to copy and paste into the meeting as they do not currently automatically update in the meeting.
    Third question:
Any suggestions on a better system/method?
    Please help!

I think I know what can help. I also support Mac users in a mixed environment, and find that being able to access a Windows machine to test settings for my iCal users is very very helpful. If you do not have one, I could also fix this one by adding the user's account to my one Mac that runs Entourage.
On a PC: set up one of the problem accounts in Outlook, then go to Tools->Options & click on the Delegates tab. Click on a Delegate name (if they all have the same permission level, you can select all), then click the Permissions button. If the delegate have "Editor" permissions, there will be a little checked box that sends the delegate copies of all those meetings. De-select it.
Lemme know if you want Entourage instructions or if that does it for you.
The real question, of course, is why are there so many Exchange functions that iCal can't touch. Grrrr....

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
So we have DSL Modem <-> Base Station <-> Computer connected by Ethernet.
    Is the Modem Routing ?
Is the Base Station set to "Share An IP" ?
(i.e are there two DHCP servers on your LAN ?)
Is Internet Sharing On in th G5s System Preferences > Sharing pane ?
In the Base Station is Port Mapping Protocol Enabled if it is doing routing ?
It is in the NAT tab of the Internet Pane.
Is the G5 also doing WiFi to the Base Station ?
Also check the Modem is not Blocking PINGS as this log shows no PING (But I am not sure it even got that far)

  • Error when other people send me a meeting request

    Dear Microsoft,
When other people send me a meeting request, they get the error you can see below (it says: "Your message can not be delivered to the following
people or distribution lists"). The strange thing is that I receive as well the meeting request and I can accept it. However, it is confusing for the people who send me the request, so can you help me to fix te problem?
I use Outlook 2010, but I had also this problem with an older version. I have not had this problem always. The problem started when I authorized a colleague
to look in my calendar (but, if I cancel the authorization it doesn't help, so I really don't understand what is going wrong!).
I really hope you know a solution of this problem.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Dineke,
You can contact your Exchange administrator to run the following command to check it:
Get-Mailbox –Identity yourname | Select Name, HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled
Or you can view your colleague’s Default Global Address List in OWA to check whether you are listed there or not.
Please check whether there is any transport rule or Outlook rule setting in your mailbox. Also change a new computer and create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

  • Cannot accept Meeting Request updates on iPhone

    Hi,
When I am working at a client's account, I am sending or forwarding important meeting requests to my private mail.
Then, when I open that mail account on my iPhone, and open the meeting request mail, I can scroll to the bottom and see a 'mime-attachment.ics'.
When I click on this, I see the Event Details. And the bottom of my screen reads 'Add To Calendar'.
    This works well.
When I update the meeting request at my client's account, I'll get a new mail from there in my private mail.
But when I open it on my iPhone and scroll to the 'mime-attachment.ics' and click on that, I will see the Event Details, but only Delete Event shows at the bottom.
When I click on that, the meeting is gone from my calendar.
    I expected an 'Update Event'.
    Help!

    I accidently solved this problem.
When you put an invitation for a meeting in your mailbox on your iPhone, you can click on the attachment to view that meeting and ADD it to your (iPhone) calendar.
But when the meeting is updated (e.g. to another date), you get another mail with attachment on your iPhone, but when you click on the attachment you will view the (old) meeting and can only choose to DELETE that (not update).
But... and here it comes... Once you get back in the mail again, after you've deleted the old meeting, and click again on the meeting attachment, you will view the updated meeting and can choose ADD to your calendar.
That's it. Problem solved (in two steps).

  • Mac Mail sending out multiple e-mails

    Dear All,
My friend reports that today he is receiving 3 copies of every e-mail message that I send him.  I'm working on a Mac Pro, Lion 10.7.5, using Mac Mail through Yahoo, and I have only one account.  I have an iPod touch, but I have never sent e-mail through that device nor signed up for it on the iPod -- I only use my Mac desktop for sending and receiving e-mails.  Anyone else having this recent problem?  I never had it before today!  Thanks.

Are you sure it's the Mac sending out the spam, or just spam masquerading as coming from your email account (the From: line is ridiculously simple to forge)?
While it's clearly possible to devise a system to cause a Mac to send out spam email (or any other computer for that matter), it wouldn't be terribly efficient for the spammer.  Even when they take over zombie machines (and unpatched Windows XP systems are the favorites there) the spammer would prefer to use the machine to send out all kinds of email *AND* would attempt not to draw attention to the actual machine sending out the stuff.
That is, where it *appears* to be coming from will generally not be where it is coming from.
What malware prefers to do is "harvest" an address book from a user's computer (or, more often these days, from an online address book after phishing the credentials from the user) and then using that to send out emails to your contacts that look like they come from you so that they are more likely to be opened.  If that's what has happened, there's nothing you could do to the Mac at this point to get that data back.
Again, while it is clearly possible to harvest that data under either OSX or Windows 7 from your address book in either platform, it is considerably more difficult to do that than to go after your credentials for an online site using a phishing attack and then make use of the contact information.

  • I am running Os X Lion with Home and student office for Mac. My MS Outlook Mail programme has picked up a virus I think. The programme is sending out multiple mails to addresses that I have no knowledge of.

Hi all: Wonder if any one can advise.
My Mac is running Lion OS X 10.7.5 and I have MS Office for Mac (Student and Home) installed.
A couple of days ago I noticed 14 emails in my inbox and others in Spam and Junk with a header explaining that these mails are undeliverable; they are mail addressees that I have never heard of.
I have installed and run (I think correctly), ClamXav but it is still happenning.
How can I rectify / rid my Mac / mail programme of this problem?

Check your "Sent Mail" folder to see if any of those messages were sent from it. If not then they just spoofed your address. If any are found there then your account was hacked (almost certainly on your ISP's mail server) and you need to change password and/or e-mail address.

  • Symbian S^3/Anna Calendar Meeting Request (Invitee...

First... I want to explain how this came about. I've never sent out a Meeting Invite from my Nokia N8 (PR1.2) to anyone before. However, in the days of collaboration, people send & receive Calendar Appointments to and from different Email/PIM Clients.
Since Symbian Anna announced that it will have "e-mail invitations with full meeting request support"... I ran a test with a buddy of mine that had Symbian Anna.
This is also because iPhone users can 'send invitations' during Calendar Event creation and this meeting request magically appears in my Google Calendar.
Why are't Nokia generated meeting requests appearing in e-mail and Google Calendar???
    Observations:
    a) When I send out a Meeting Request (via E-mail or SMS), my Nokia N8 PR 1.2 (Pre-Anna) - sends the attachment as Calendar.vcs, which has a totally different format from the meeting.ics that is read by e-mail clients. Is the meeting.ics a change in Symbian Anna? I am assuming that Calendar.vcs is an internal Nokia to Nokia format. This does not work in this day and age of people using many different brands of OS's.
**Side Note: I am in Canada. When is my Anna Update for my Vanilla Nokia USA N8 going to be available???
    b) When I receive this Calendar.vcs as an attachment in e-mail, it is not translated as a Calendar Invitation item at all in my Gmail or my PC E-mail Client. Why?
Calendar.vcs is sent out as "Application/Octet-Stream" in Base64 Encoding by the Symbian Email Client or the Nokia Email Servers??? Why???
What does Application/Octet-Stream tell the receiving email client? This is an application attachment. Treat it as such.
    c) When I asked my friend who has a Nokia N8 (PR 2.0) Symbian Anna to send me a meeting request, I get an email that has an attachment "meeting.ics" -- let's call this Specimen A -- when it arrived in my Google Inbox, it is not seen nor translated as a Calendar Item.
By this time, I got confused...
So I sent an Appointment/Calendar Request from my Novell Groupwise and sent it to my Google. I also receive a "meeting.ics" -- let's call this Specimen B. However, Google was able to immediately translate that this meeting.ics is a Calendar Item and neatly displays it as such, asking me to say YES, NO, MAYBE to the Calendar item. It even magically inserts into my Google Calendar.
So I was even MORE confused!!!
Here is what I have gathered from reading the Message Sources.
    Nokia meeting.ics (Specimen A)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out as MIME TYPE Application/MSPowerpoint (this tells the receiving client that this is a powerpoint application and is not translated as a Calendar Item)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out encoded in Base64
    - meeting.ics files is missing PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION in each Attendee (tells the PIM Calendar that this Calendar Request needs to be acted upon with an Accept/Deny)
    Novell Groupwise meeting.ics (Specimen B)
    - attachment meeting.ics is sent out as MIME TYPE Text/Calendar
    - attachment meeting.ics is encoded in 8-Bit
    - meeting.ics file has PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION for Attendees.
So what is the difference? Why is the meeting.ics (Specimen B) from Groupwise readable by Google Mail/Calendar while meeting.ics (Specimen A) from Nokia Symbian Email Client not readable at all?
So I did a small test.
I edited Specimen A meeting.ics from Nokia Email Client and added to th PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION Attendees.
I sent these in 2 Test Emails to my Google Mail.
Test 1: Original meeting.ics from Nokia Email without PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION
Test 2: Altered meeting.ics from Nokia Email WITH PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION
I send these "meeting.ics" tests via my Groupwise Client as an attachment file.
When I received both in my Google Mail, Google is able to properly render this as a Calendar Item and display it as such, asking me to say YES, NO, MAYBE to both instances of the Test Emails.
So, maybe PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION has nothing to do with this then...
I forwarded the test messages back to myself to see what MIME-TYPE Groupwise sent this as this time.
It sent it as TEXT/PLAIN and encoded in Base64. So now, we know Base64 Encoding & 8Bit Encoding is not the culprit.
So I ponder more. WHY WOULD NOKIA EMAIL CLIENT SEND OUT meeting.ics as APPLICATION/MSPOWERPOINT???? *.ics file extension is not even related to anything Powerpoint.
So if meeting.ics is sent out by the sending email client as text/calendar or text/plain, the receiving email client is able to properly translate this and render this as a Calendar Item (Request).
However, because Nokia Email Client send this out as "Application/MSPowerpoint", the receiving email client will think this is an e-mail attachment for PowerPoint and will not display the Calendar Item properly.
MIME-TYPES. Something so basic, something that would cause a HUGE ERROR.
Is this a BUG? I THINK IT IS...  PLEASE FIX THIS ERROR. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!
So... THIS IS A FAIL. Nokia!
Collaboration is also part of "Connecting People". If Person X using Outlook, Person B using Crackberry, Person C using iPhone, Person D using Android, Person E using a Nokia Symbian cannot collaborate and send/receive/accept/deny Calendar Items they send each other... isn't there a HUGE DISCONNECT?
I am hoping, actually, I am praying really hard to the many gods and dieties that this will be forwarded immediately to the Nokia Email Client Team to be looked at and an Update Immediately made available.
    Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
    1.      Whether the sender and recipient users are on the same AD site?
    2.      If the user uses OWA to access the Meeting Request message, whether is it still displayed as a normal email instead of a meeting request?
I would like to explain that a meeting request should have MAPI property “PR_MESSAGE_CLASS” which value is IPM.Schedule.Meeting.Request. A normal message will have the MAPI property “PR_MESSAGE_CLASS” which value is IPM.Note.
    The issue may occur:
    1.      Some third-party software such as spam filter software and disclaimer software change the mail format
    2.      Some Add-ins on the Outlook change the mail format
To troubleshoot the possible cause 1, I suggest that you enable Pipeline Tracing:
Using Pipeline Tracing to Diagnose Transport Agent Problems
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125198(EXCHG.80).aspx
Note: Because Pipeline tracing could place a large amount of strain on a system, I suggest that you disable it after gathering the information.
To troubleshoot the possible cause 2, I suggest that you disable the Add-ins temporarily:
    Disable third-party add-ins of Outlook
    ==================================
    1.      Backup and then remove the following two registry keys:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
    2.      Restart the Outlook by using “Outlook /Safe”

  • Outlook does not send meeting requests at all.

    Hi all
My problem is both annoyingly simple and frustratingly annoying, but so far i haven't been able to solve it, nor has our IT department.
In short, my Outlook doesn't send meeting requests to invite attendees. (My colleagues, same exchange server) I am the only one having this problem. When i send out a meeting request, it appears double in my calendar (asking me to accept) but nothing shows
up in my sent items, nor in their calendar. If i delete the event, this is sent out; new ones and updates are not.
To my knowledge, I use the standard IPM.Appointment form, but have used another standard form in the past (which was removed.)
A new profile doesn't help, nor does uninstalling / reinstalling Outlook 2007. I installed Outlook 2010 - same phenomenon.
It has worked all the time, but stopped working about 10 months ago, no apparent cause.
I should add that I can send out meeting requests through Exchange from my iPad and iPhone, just not from my computer. (and no, they are not related - the time i got iPad and iPhone everything worked)
OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bits, MS Office 2010, various applications installed but none related to calendar useage / sync / ...
I am local admin, this is my work PC so no 'dubious' SW installed, nor authorised.
According to the server guys, there is nothing exceptional like the forms attached to my account - they claim it's something local, but also have no clue what it might be. Even Mr. Google or Ms. Bing do not provide an answer, so i'm hoping someone here might
outsmart everyone else and come up with a solution.
(ps - i'm quite sure it isn't "stupid user error" either, I'm an IT specialist/consultant/developer - but this one baffles me and everyone looking for it...)
Added info - on my PC, when logging in with a different account but connecting to my own exchange account, it works.
Replacing forms related info from the user/appdata folder of the functional user towards the non-functional user account didn't work. (even though the information was different)
No difference in the registry as i can see.
Tried to add ForceFormReload to the registry - no use.
I activated logging, also nothing in there.
I also receive no error whatsoever, it really is like Outlook simply isn't configured to send out meeting requests anymore...
Also, no errors in the event viewer in case you were wondering.
When working offline, it is clear that the meeting requests simply do not enter the 'outbox'. (cancellations do)
Assuming it might be a corrupt DLL somewhere, i scheduled a Chkdsk C: /F/R this evening. A long shot, yes, but grasping at straws here...
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Kind regards,
    Dennis

    solved - completely uninstalled, reboot
removed all keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 (the entire folder)
removed all outlook related registry keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0 and 12.0, also in 8.0 and 9.0
    removed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook completely
    rebooted
installed Office Pro2010 again, and now it works.
so in short - there was a messed-up registry key somewhere in there, that was missed by installing it, or even completely reinstalling it.
FYI - all my settings remained the same, no info or config loss except the colour profile i used...
    Grtz,
    Dennis

  • Sending Outlook Meeting Requests through Outlook using JSP?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to develop a web application that's able to invoke the Create New Meeting Request dialog from the client's Outlook (they are using Outlook 2002/2003), and populate some data from server-side into the Meeting Request, so that users can customize the Request if necessary and send it out.
Have looked at a few solutions as follows:
    1) HTML's mailto
This is not good, coz the body can only accept plain text, whereas I need to be able to send HTML text (which Outlook can accept).
    2) Outlook View Control
This was more hopeful, as I was able to invoke the new Meeting Request dialog. However still no way to send my data to the Meeting Request :-(
Basically, what I need is to be able to send a customized Meeting Request through some means, like for example getting Outlook to do it like the above, or sending out via some Java APIs (do they exist?)
Any ideas if the above is possible at all? Or if there are other ways to do this, other than relying on Outlook?
I'm open to any suggestions, even commercial solutions, since I'm quite urgently in need of options.
Note that I can't connect direct to Exchange (there are some solutions for doing that), because of some security issues which doesn't allow me to connect to the Exchange Server.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hi whartung,
Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it.
I think what you are suggesting is exactly what Outlook View Control is. Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, it seems that Microsoft did not give it sufficient controls to be able to pre-populate a new Meeting Request. You can only invoke the Outlook UI to create the Meeting Request, but there's no APIs to populate the new Meeting Request.
Have however found a possible alternative in the meantime:
Outlook supports iCalendar files which is a standard for calendaring information storage, and it is able to process a Meeting Request from an iCalendar file which contains details of the Meeting Request.
So what I'm looking to do is this:
    1) Create the iCalendar file in the backend with Java.
    2) Send an email to the user(s) who is intended to receive the Meeting Request, with the iCalendar file attached.
    3) User clicks on the iCalendar file, which prompts them to process the Meeting Request.
Somewhat indirect, but gets the Meeting Request across, and all the 3 steps are actually possible.
Furthur to this, it opens up the possibility of sending Outllook Contacts (which supports iCard format) through similar mechanisms as well!

  • I can't delete a cancelled meeting request in calendar events on iPhone

When sending or receiving meeting requests from outlook the calander events are added perfectly.
But, when the origInator cancels the event, all the invitees receive another ICS file in the email but nothing happens when
the event is cancelled. And you can't event delete the calendar event ! So frustrating!

See if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.
