Calendar Settings

I recently returned my Droid and got an iPhone. I like the iPhone, but I've quickly noticed it is short on tweaking and extra settings.
My biggest concern right now is the lack of calendar settings. For example, I want to set my calendar so that there is an automatic alert created for every event I make. Also, I want to be able to tap the time and create an event on the calendar without having to add it and select the time. I don't like the views of the calendar either. But there are no options to change these things.
Can someone tell me a way to tweak these settings or can you recommend a better calendar app?

Changing the calendar settings: Sunday as the first day of the week

Dear Masters of SAP universe,
In ECC6.0, I am using a LIS info-structure with the period split set to week.
I would like to know how can I change the calendar settings in order to consider Sunday as the first day of the week, instead of Monday.
For example:
A sales order created on Dec 12th creates the record 201049 in the info structure S900 - SPWOC.
I would like to have it as 201050, where 50 is the currently week in the system.
I already checked OSS notes and the transaction SCAL for customizing. But I did not find a solution this issue.
Your help is highly appreciated!

I already tried rebooting, and I tried hooking it up to itunes as well, no luck there either.

Try to reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings. It won't delete your data.
When you say reboot, do you mean you pressed the home and sleep button at the same time until it restarted?

Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings on my iphone 4s not working.

I cannot seem to open the Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings on my iphone 4s. It disappears when I tap it. As a result I cannot even access my contacts. I've tried restoring, etc, but nothing works. I was told to delete my mail account in Settings for this to work, but, as I previously said, I cannot open Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Can anyone please help?

I have the same problem. This happened after I downloaded ICloud. I deleted my account at ICloud, reboot the IPhone 4, but I still cannot open the Settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
I also cannot accede any of my Contacts. They are listed, but they disappear when I click on one of them.
Does anybody know the solution to this problem?

Mail App and Mail, Contacts and Calendar Settings Crashing

After upgrading to 2.1 on 3G...
I posted a response to a post for Mail settings problem here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1708101&tstart=0 but noticed that after restarting my phone now the Mail application crashes and in some cases the Contacts app if open more than 10 seconds.
I've noticed a few posts and possible fixes on the forums like updating the Region but none of those solutions worked for me. I'm hoping an Apple "Genius" would read this and offer a fix!

I'm having a similar issue;
I go into Settings -> Email, contacts, etc.
Then i scroll to almost the very bottom. I see the first two items of "Calendar settings", but if I scroll further settings crash and I'm shoved back to the homescreen. EXTREMELY frustrating since I'm in sweden and the time zone is london I think - all my meetings are pushed 1 hour ahead.
I have an iPhone 3G with the latest 2.1 firmware.

Advanced Calendar Settings - FILTERS - BUG!!!

I just found a software Bug (version 7.0.0.59). On the Advanced Calendar Settings, when you create a Filter based on the START DATE, the mask for the input value is "YYYYMMDD". Well, on the mobile, it stands for "YYYYDDMM".
And one other suggestion. it could be possible to setup one sync for "today - X days". This is how it should work. I would like to have my calendar entries beetween one month ago and all the future entries. Based on the sync date!

But as a possible workaround, i suspect you have selected a country/region under Settings -> Language & input -> Language where the week normally is set to start on Sunday like English US? If you are in the Netherlands but want the phone on english you could try setting it to English UK instead to avoid this until i have more information.

Duplicate calendar settings on ipad2

Anyone know what settings I have to set in either itunes or on my ipad for me to stop having duplicate calendar settings on my ipad2? I don't have that problem with my contacts, just the calendar. I suspect it has something to do with icloud, but I am not sure. I am on Snow Leopard on an i7 iMac OSX v 10.6.8 and iOS v 5.0.1

Click on the Calendars icon in the upper left corner. You should see something lke this:
If you see a SECOND entry labeled "On My Mac" or something like that, there's your problem. One of the two should be deleted. The ICLOUD set automatically downloads from iCloud whenever you log on. The "On My Mac" set is local to your hard drive but it does sync to iCloud. If you do NOT have any other devices (computers, iPads, iPods, etc.), it does not matter which one you use. If you do have other devices, the "ICLOUD" set is the one that you should use on all devices.

Since upgrading to Mavericks entered calendar settings will not stay applied. Help Please!

Since upgrading to Mavericks my entered calendar settings (alerts specifically) will not stay applied. I am using the calendar that came installed on my MacBook Pro w/retina display. This is an important issue for me. I need my calendar and scheduled reminders. I can enter an appointment which stays in place but when I enter an additional reminders and click the "apply" button the reminders I entered simply disappear. The appointment stays but the reminders do not.

The paragraph below the image explains how to do it in 10.7, Mavericks is similar. Don't fear the Terminal, it's just a shortcut to the reset tool that Apple hid.

Calendar Settings reset after reboot

Could anybody please check if you have the same issue on your phone?
Sony Calendar resets settings after reboot.
For example, if I set "Week starts on" = "Monday" and reboot the phone, this settings will be back to "Sunday" (which is the default).
I am now running Calendar 20.0.A.2.5, but I believe this bug was there before as well (even on my old Xperia V, I believe)
P.S. I found this topic, but either I didn't understand the solution correctly or it doesn't work for me... I tried to disable the Calendar app, but it didn't help in any way...

Lost Calendar, Settings, etc.

My wife and I decided not to have two user accounts because we couldn't figure out how to make availabe to each other the individual files and programs we downloaded. We deleted her account and renamed mine. Now all my settings have been changed. I lost my calendar with all of my assignments on it and my folders are all messed up. Can I fix it and bring it back to the way it was. Help me please! Also, somehow the iPhoto program was trashed!?!? Is there some way for me to recover that. I'm a new Mac user and I really need some reassurance that everything will be ok...

There's a thread over at logicprohelp.com where one of the forum members has created zipped files of all the missing presets. Search for "Logic 7/8 Plug-in Settings" and "Lost Plugins". Backup any existing files in L8 before proceeding.

Lost- email, bookmarks, calendar, settings

Comrades, I was just trying to connect to my local wireless network (apple) and had to re-enter my network password. No big deal but I got a prompt that my keychain could not be found when I checked the "remember password" box... . A little odd, then -skip ahead to restart- I log in as usual but all my settings are gone as well as mail accounts, calendar entries etc. as if I were a brand new user though all my files and apps seem to be intact. I ran disk utilities and repaired the disk and permissions but that did not help. I have been syncing with .mac to my mini I'm hesitant to do that now until I figure out what happened. Any ideas about where to go from here?

Thanks for the quick reply Neil! I've opened the drive icon-> users-> and I see my user name and files. Do I select them all (desktop, docs, library, etc) and drag them to my user name with house icon in the side bar? I tried that but with no obvious result before or after restart. I must be misunderstanding you. Please try again. Patience... my brain is only about the size of a walnut.

In Mail, contacts, calendars settings, I do not have a "Show" option to show 50 or 100 messages. The problem is all my mail is being downloaded and filling up my phone. How do I get the option to show a certain amount of emails?

I am missing the "Show" option in the mail settings on my iphone. This is causing all of my emails to download and takin up a lot of space. How can I get that "show 50 messages" back? It is completely not there.

Same for me...that option seems to have gone away and I cannot figure out how to get more emails to show up.

I-phone calendar settings

looking to find out if anyone has seen an update for the calendar on the i-phone. nothing major just a pet peeve. when you add an appointment and wish to repeat the appointment, you are only given a few options. eg., i wish to repeat something every 3 weeks but am not allowed to do so, is there a fix for that? or is that in a new app i need ot download. thanks in advance for your help!!

Only Apple can make this change. Tell them.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
In the meantime, you'll need to enter those appointments on the computer then sync them.
