Calendar Sharing - Modify by Administrator

We already have a public sharing group setup. The customer wants to add calendar sharing for each member. As the Administrator, can I turn this feature on for each of group members, or must I instruct each one of them how to do it individually? So what I'm asking is: Can this be modified by the Administrator?

Not the answer that I was hoping for, but thanks! How do I enter this as a new feature request?

  • HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8.  I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts.  There seems no way to turn this off.  I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment.  There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8.  Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars.  Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months.  So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.

  • BIOS Settings unavailable to modify in Administrator Account

BIOS Settings unavailable to modify in Administrator Account.
When the user enters the BIOS as an administrator, he will not be able to make any changes in the BIOS but the Guest account will let him make all the changes.
    Scenario:
If you enter the BIOS as Guest
You will be able to access all the BIOS Options.
If you enter as the Administrator using the HP client security credentials or windows credentials.
The PC will not allow you to change any BIOS settings.
    Solution:
Enter the BIOS as a Guest and setup a BIOS Administrator Password.
Go to Security>”Setup BIOS Administrator Password”. The password needs to be 8 characters long.
After the Password is set, you will have to save changes and exit.
The PC will now restart. You can press F10 to enter BIOS again and will see the new BIOS login page.
Select BIOS Administrator account highlighted in Blue.
Enter the BIOS Administrator Password to access BIOS settings.
You will now be able to View and Make changes in the BIOS
    Reason:
HP client security adds an extension to the UEFI BIOS and enables BIOS protection.
If the user has not set a BIOS password, the Client security creadentials will treat the Windows user account as a Guest account but since the account is already assigned to a user, it will be listed as an Administrator account rather than a User account.
The actual open account will then be treated as an Admin account but is listed as a Guest Account.
Once the user installs a BIOS Administrator Password, the Client security program will know which account to be considered as an Admin account.
In the Image below, we have
    BIOS Administrator Account: modifiable
    Windows User account: Restricted
    Guest Account:View Only

  • Calendar Sharing not available error message

Trying to share my calendar with staff at the office here. I get the error:
Calendar sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network.
    I am using Offiice 2007 SP1, Exchange Server 2007 SP1
I can however go to the other workstation and use the "open a shared calendar" option to access my shared calendar.
It does work on some accounts, but not the majority of accounts.
Where do I start trouble shooting this issue? How do I check the "permission settings on my network"
Sorry if this is an easy one, I'm a new user to exchange. This is not a full production setup yet, still testing before I let folks know what it can do.
    Thanks

Issue description: You can’t share calendar to other people
“Calendar sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network”
    Collect info:
    1.       Do the users you want to share belong to other forests?
    2.       Is the issue only happened on your account?
    3.       Is there any error info in the application log on the server or client if you reproduce the issue?
    Troubleshooting:
    1.       How did you grant the permission to other users, from the “Properties” of the calendar or share it in the invitation? Please check which permissions stay in the “Properties” of calendar by default
    2.       Check if DACL status is “GOOD” on your calendar by using PFDavAdmin
    a.       Launch tool on client [Install NET Framework 1.1 at first]
    b.      “File” menu->”connect”->select “mailbox” to connect->OK
    c.       Right-click your mailbox->”Folder permissions”
    d.      Check the “DACL state” on the right-up corner
    3.       Check if “automatically update e-mail addresses based on e-mail address policy” option is checked
    a.       EMC->Recipient Configuration->Mailbox, go to the “Properties” of your mailbox
    b.      “E-Mail Address” tab, check the option
    4.       Please recreate your mail profile on another test PC, see if you can reproduce the issue. in this way, we can isolate the issue to server or client side

I am getting several reports of users not being able to open a calendar shared to them by their manager.  I have checked the calendar permissions on their managers computer which all look like they are able to read it.
The manager is using Outlook 2013 to share out her calendar.  the users are using various avenues, either on an iPad or through OWA.  I'm at a loss of where to check for additional issues on this.  Any suggestions or ideas for you brilliant people?

  • Help! iCloud Calendar Sharing - diff accounts

As I'm away regularly with work, I thought it would be ideal to share my calendar (not my full work calendar but the one on my iphone which I add holidays and over night stays etc to) with him. So I went through iCloud and shared my calendar with him. Please note, we have totally separate Apple and iCloud IDs to each other.
However, on his iPhone it has now merged my appointments with his. If he deselects my calendar (in the calendar menu, it says shared by Kerry), his appointments disappear also. I asumed it would be like outlook, so he could look at his, or at mine totally separately, and that they wouldn't merge. Is there something one of us is missing here, and easy way to share mine with him but keep them as 2 distinct calendars on his phone?
    Thank you!

If it helps, I'm facing a similar issue.
My wife and I both have unique Apple IDs that we use with iCloud. Different accounts with different contacts, calendars, etc.
Originally we just invited each other to the other's events. However, as we started to use the service more and mroe we realised that sharing would be better, and save the invites for occasions we'll both be present at.
So, in iCloud we invited each other to view the other's calendars. Beautiful. We can now see both calendars, on my Mac, on the phones, in iCloud.
However, it seems there are some quite egregious bugs.
When she creates an item and invites me it appears hollow in both calendars. It should appear solid in hers where it is a defines event, and hollow in mine til I either accept or decline. If I accept it appears in both, as it should.
If I decline, or accept then decline, it is removed from both calendars. Clearly, not the behaviour that is desired. Quite the opposite.
It is clear that removing an item in my calendar that originated in hers should not remove the original entry in hers.
This bug has destroyed the utility of calendar sharing completely.

  • Boooo: What happened to iCal calendar sharing in Leopard?

As much as a year out from the release of Leopard Apple was touting the iCal calendar sharing. WHAT HAPPENED?!
It was the only real reason I was excited about Leopard. Our whole family was looking forward to sharing one family calendar that everyone had rights to post to and everyone would be in sync.
Am I wrong, or is it vaporware?

At the moment, being detached from your subnet and using Mac OS X 10.5 or later is problematic. SyncTogether, for example, does not work with Leopard configurations.
There are other approaches you can take, including using Plaxo, or using Google calendars mated with SpanningSync to share calendar data. All of these have their relative strengths and weaknesses, or limitations. A requirement to be on the same subnet is the limitation of BusySync.

  • ICloud Calendar Sharing

    Hello,
I have a couple questions regarding Calendar sharing through iCloud. My scenario is as follows:
I am the IT for a small business and I am trying to get iCloud to help out our scheduling deficencies. In our business we have many schedulings per day and we have multiple people editing/adding/changing the calendar. Right now we have more then one calendar with an attempt to consolidate to one main calendar. The problem is obvious with this scenario, we end up loosing track of what has been changed or someone forgets to add or adjust the MAIN calendar.
Now from what I understand there is a way to share a single calendar across multiple devices/iCloud accounts. Is this true?
How do you share the calendar across different accounts?
Also what do you think the best way to setup the devices? When sharing the calendar across accounts does it mark who added or edited a scheduling ie. by color coding or by iCloud ID? Should I just create one iCloud account and share that across all the different devices owned by the company? Or should I create multiple accounts for each device and share the calendar across the multiple different devices?
I think the multiple different iCloud account would be beneficial solely for the fact of knowing who made the edit or addition (if it does indeed do that some how).
Can you make an iCloud account without having an iCloud device?
    Any help will be appreaciated!
    Thanks,
    Jm

    Hi jm6001!
    1) Login to https://www.icloud.com/ and then open the calendar.
    2) Click in the top bar on the "Show calendars"-button. Now you can see all your calendars on the left side.
    3) Beside every calendar is a "Share Calendar"-Symbol in a small circle.
    4) Click on this button and you can invite other iCloud-members to view or edit this calendar.
    (Please excuse my meager English.)

  • Calendar sharing

Is it possible for me to use my iPad to access someone shared calendar for viewing on my iPad using Microsoft Exchange?  The person whose calendar I want to view is using Microsoft Exchange on a Windows system using Outlook 2010 and I am using the Mail app for checking email and iCal for calendar.

    Hi,
From all my testing through the beta phases right into production of GroupWise 2014 I have not found any difference in how the calendar sharing has worked. I think that something may be a little wonky on the account in question. Have you run any GWCheck routines, and if so, which ones?
    Cheers,

  • ICal calendar sharing after iCloud transition

iCal calendar sharing after iCloud transition does not work the same. I would like to be able to share a calendar in web view as I was able to before...
I am still able to invite others who have iCloud to see my calendar, but not PC users or others who do not have similar software. I want a url for the calendar soe I can send it to a group to view only. This was possible before the transistion! Please help!

In your iPhone (or iPad) go to settings/general settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars and at the top under "Accounts" you will see "Subscribed Calenars" (not in the calendar section, above that at the top of the page)... click on the calendar you want to delete and do so from there.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Sharing - This Sharing Message is Not Valid...

I have a user who is unable to share her calendar by sending sharing invitation. The invitation goes out but says "This sharing message is not valid. All action buttons have been disabled. Then where it should say the name of the user-Calendar, it says
(SenderNot Verified) - Calendar. I have tried new profile, deleting entries in credential manager, cached mode off or on, deleting cached entries on the receivers end, etc. But still the sharing messages continue.
We are on Exchange 2010, and she is using Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 with two domains in a single forest.  Recipients are a mix of Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013.
    Has anyone seen this?!?
    John M.

Just came across this post while perusing for an answer to the exact same issue.  The user has Outlook 2013 and has successfully sent a calendar sharing invite to several users with a mix of Outlook 2013 & 2010.  However, there are a few
users who receive the (Sender not verified), with the option grayed out to "Open this Calendar."  Tried same troubleshooting methods of creating a new profile, turning cached mode off, deleting/recreating offline address book; same result.

  • Google calendar sharing not working on iPhone 5

My wife and I each had an iPhone 4 for 2+ years. We each have separate Google calendars. We each shared out calendars to the other. We each configured our Google accounts on our phones as Exchange accounts. This configuration allowed us to view each other's calendar, along with our own, in the iPhone Calendar app.
I recently got the iPhone 5. When I configured my Google account as Exchange on the 5, I am only able to view my own calendar.
From the phone, I browsed to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and ensured that all calendars shared to me were selected for synchronization to my devices.
I've also remove and reconfigured the Exchange account.
    My phone is not jailbroken.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Never mind on this. I found the issue.
I should have been configuring the Google account on the iPhone by using the "GMail" option instead of the "Exchange" option.

  • Why can't i add events to calendars shared with me?

After i updated my MacBook Pro, i could not add events to the calendars shared with me. When i try to put an event in another calendar, it is not there.. I have the same problem on my iMac.

I was able to fix this problem with the information I found on the link pasted below. (I had two calendars, and the "default" calendar was not set to my iCloud calendar.)

  • Calendar sharing color issue

This is an issue that is strange.  It just doesn't make any sense.
I have Droid X running 2.3.  I am running Google Calendar with shared Calendar.
In the Month view, every calendar event is represented in the color blue.
In the Weekly view, every calendar event is represented according to each Calendar's color.
I have two Calendars for my setup.  Blue for me and Yellow for my wife.
So, the phone has the correct data.  Its just not showing it in 30 day view.
This would be a very easy fix, if we can just default to the Weekly view.
    Thats not an option either.
Is there a fix on the way I hope?
Also, along the same line...with my original Droid...we had corporate calendar and personal Calendar.
Its missing on the Droid X.  Is that the issue?

    Hi,
From your description, OWA works well, then the permission is suitable. I recommend you turn off cached mode on Outlook, restart Outlook and check the result. If it works well, then you can re-enable cached mode.
Hope this can be helpful to you.
