Calendar shuts down on list view

I could use some help. Lately, whenever I go to the List view on my calendar, it closes itself down. It was annoying, but not debilitating. Now, however, it seems that the calendar is "set" to List view and as soon as I try to open it, it shuts down immediately. So now, I effectively don't have a calendar at all on my phone.
Any thoughts on this?

I was having this problem, too: I could use Month and Day views without problem, but List view would cause the Calendar app to exit. I could also use List view on a single calendar without problem, but selecting "All" calendars and returning to List mode would cause Calendar app to exit.
The solution (works, but is far from ideal), is to reduce the number of calendars you are syncing to the iPhone. List view is now working for me with five calendars being synced. (Prior to the version update, my 1.1.4 iPhone was syncing 8 or 9 without problem.)
Hopefully, they'll fix this in an upcoming release, and we can go back to more calendars again.

  • Calendar - Trouble printing in list view

I want to print all events and items on each of my calendars (so that ultimately I can combine them into one and know that whatever should be there, is).
I’m in list view, but the print option seems to stick or hang when it gets to ‘Calculating layout…’  The Calendar app remains open.  (It hasn’t crashed or frozen.)
How do I fix this?  Also, is there a maximum limit as to the date range to insert as an option?  (I’ve tried narrow ranges but this hasn’t yet worked, either.)
    Thank you!

I have not understood why this problem was occurring, but I have found a solution which is to force the calendar entries to be reset from Mobile Me. I did this:
1 Did a backup in iTunes in case it went horribly wrong.
2 Went into iphone>settings>Mail Contacts Calendars > (Mobile Me Account) > Switched off calendars - told it to delete entries on iphone.
    3 Turned off iphone
    4 Waited a bit
    5 Turned iphone on
6 Repeated 2 and switched on calendars.
7 Waited a bit for Mobile Me to sync
    All calendars restored nicely..
Why this problem occurred in the first place is a mystery. Unlike other punters, I didn't have itunes syncing my calendars to iphone, only Mobile Me........... It has the strong smell of a bug as this problem emerged after many months of trouble free syncing only when I updated to iphone 3.

  • Calendar Shuts Down After OS4

Okay, this is so weird I hate to even mention it. But after updating itunes and then upgrading to OS4, Calendar simply stops working and shuts down...anytime I try to open up Tuesday. Any Tuesday. Of any month. I press on a Tuesday to look at my appointments on that day and the entire app just shuts off. Anyone experienced this and can help? If it's important, I sync with Outlook through itunes. Thanks!

I have the same problem on upgrading to OS4 on my 3GS. The phone intermittent shuts down and restarts during phone conversations. PITA! I have seen no fixes for this so it's a revert back to older OS, bring on some stability with the iPhone upgrades!
I had the same problem of the phone rebooting during conversastions, after restoring as a new phone as per Apple's CS instructions the problem was still there.
Apple Genuis Bar have now replaced my phone (3gs) and told me not to install the ios4 until I can see from the forums that the bug has been fixed.
Annoying that it happened but credit to Apple for replacing my phone so quickly.

  • Why does my calendar shut down? I can only view January and February!, Why does my calendar shut down? I can only view January and February!

Every time I open my calendar I can view January and February then it shuts the app!

I'm not sure what Time Zone Support is. Time Zone is set automatically from the Time Zone page of Date&Time. There is no option for turning it off. It searches out the nearest city - it correctly guessed Perth, seeing I live less than a kilometre from the centre of the city - I don't know what to correct.

  • I just replaced my ipad2 or ipad3 with iPad Air due to calendar shuts down unexpectedly. Problem now exists on new iPad Air. Multiple visits to Genius Bar resulted in no answers. Told value of time not worth moreGenius Bar visits-still crashes-go figure

    Conflicting opinions from Genius Bar:
    -apple calendar software is defective
    -apple operating system problem
-software conflict with something purchased from App Store via iTunes
-some conflict between Exchange Server and apple calendar app (this problem is not occurring on mine or any of mr work colleagues iPhone. This problem is not occurring on any of my colleagues' iPads

Honestly, I doubt anyone is really going to take the time to read the novel you have written.

  • Calendar items not showing ONLY in list view on iPhone

Weird: My Calendar items are not showing in the list view only, on iPhone.
They show when I search, they show in month, they show in Day views--just NOT in list view.
    Ideas?

I just had the same problem (calendar information--for eight different calendars--OK on laptop and on Mobile me; on the iPhone only 3 of my calendars were displaying in "List" view, but all eight were appearing in "Day" view); first time I've encountered this problem (and immediately after installing the 11-February-2010 iPhone software update, so I'm suspicious that this might have been the cause).
Solution described in posting immediately above seems to have worked. I.e.,:
    1. shut OFF MobileMe syncing for calendars on the iPhone (from Settings menu);
    2. wait for calendar entries to be removed;
    3. shut off iPhone, and wait 2 minutes;
    4. restart iPhone;
    5. turn ON MobileMe syncing for calendars on the iPhone (again, from Settings menu).
All eight calendars now appear in List view (and still appear in Day view).

  • IPhone Calendar List View Extends Back Only One Year

My iPhone calendar List view extends back approximately one year despite the fact that I have calendar entries extending back to 1999 and that older data is visible under the Day and Month views. This is a problem because the only search mechanism in iPhone calendar is through the List view. Therefore, any search I conduct extends back only to the data in the List view ... which means back only one year.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how I could change this such that the List view extends to include ALL of my calendar entries and is in conformity with the Day and Month views? (I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to "correct" this, but perhaps Apple has designed it this way to speed-up the searching in List view ... I'm not certain.)
I am currently running the most recent iOS update, am syncing my iPhone calendar via MobileMe, have upgraded to the new version of the MobileMe calendar, and have ALREADY reset my sync. history, deleted my iPhone calendar and re-synced it, etc. These don't resolve the problem.

I've noticed that the date to which the List View will "look back" will change depending on software updates or syncs.
For instance, a few weeks ago my List View went back to December 2009 ... now it goes back to Jan. 2010 (i.e. I lost a month of "look back"). I do not specifically recall what triggered this change, but I reset my sync. log during this period.
If you make no changes to the sync. log or update the software, the List View start date will stay constant I believe. For instance, if the List View goes back to Jan. 1, 2010 right now it should stay that way until you reset the sync. log or update the iPhone software. Theoretically then the List View can "look back" much longer than 12 months assuming you make no changes to the sync. log or update the software. Of course, this doesn't address our issue here, but I thought I would point out that there seems to be a consistent pattern here and not some random bug screwing things up.
I'm still thinking that this is the way Apple intended it to work. In other words, that Apple felt it necessary to limit the calendar search feature to approximately 12 months worth of calendars. I hope I'm wrong.

  • Is there any way to enable "list view" in Yosemite's Calendar app (like you could in previous versions)?

In pervious version of OS X, the Calendar app showed a "list view" while in the "day" view. Here's an example. Any way to enable this or did Apple kill this helpful feature?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Double items in list-view calendar iOS 7

Since I first opened the calander-app in iOS 7, some, but not all items are shown twice in the list-view, but not in the other views. If I delete one of the doubles, both are gone. It seems to be completely random what items are shown twice. Is it a bug? It happens both with iCloud and Exchange items. Both single and repeating appointments. I can not see any logic in it. Please help, because it makes the list-view very cluttered now...
    Kind regards,
    Piet

Okay, I don't understand why, but the problem seems to be induced by the update process. Though the other views are unaffected, some (a lot) items in the list-view are being doubled. It seems to be random, but both my iOS devices are affected in exactly the same way, so there must be a mechanism that causes it.
But... If you turn off the calendars for the affected accounts (iCloud, Exchange), confirm that they are being removed from your device, and then turning them on again, they are being re-synchronized. This creates new entries in the calendar that in the list-view are not doubled anymore.
Be careful! Do not delete the items manually, since this will delete the item on all synchronized devices. Just turn the calendars off in the account settings and choose not to keep them on your device but remove them from your device instead.
This will fix the problem quick and easy.
    Kind regards,
    Piet Groeneveld

  • The calendar list view is much too tiny with ios7; unusable

I have an extremely busy calendar, I need the list view to see the 12-15 things scheduled per day.  The tiny section at the bottom showing a maximum of 2 events at a time scrolling in a little space is outrageous.  This phone is used primarily for corporate mail, calendar, 1password, and it's camera.  It's about to be CraigsList fodder.
Utterly amazing how they take a working calendar and turn it into this rubbish?  I am NOT searching with the hourglass for upcoming appointments.  I want list view, only list view, nothing else.
Any help to save this phone?

I figured it out, you can't toggle or double tap the day when you are looking at the month + day and the tiny list on the bottom.  The icon with the three lines is there but tapping doesn't do anything.  Neither does double tapping on the day.
If single you tap on the day to shrink the unusable mini list view, then the icon up top toggles through the full list views as expected.
What a dumb design.  Appreciate the advice.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have a MacBook Pro bought about 18 mos ago.

  • Mac Pro 3,1 Shuts Down Unexpectedly

My computer lately shuts down unexpectedly. It's not an overheat problem.
When I use skype, as soon as the video conversation starts, it shuts down.
When I try to resize a photo on Photoshop CS5, it shuts down. (I modified an OpenGL option, and I don't have this problem any more)
When I click with my mouse for the dashboard to come, it shuts down.
Could you please help me with this? I don't know what to do.
    Thank you.

I mean it powers off completely. No error message. Just the power goes off as if I shut it down myself with the normal procedure.
New development: I have two graphic cards: ATI Radeon 2600 and NVIDIA 8800.
With the NVIDIA I get shut downs when I view the dashboard, almost each time.
With the ATI I get shut downs sporadically. After one shut down, when I pressed the button to start the computer, it got to the phase when showing the white page with the Apple Logo, and it powered off. I waited 5-6 minutes and it is now running without any shut downs.
I believe it has something to do with the drivers. But I'm not sure. What steps should I follow to eliminate some aspects? What's your theory?
    Thank you for your time.

  • Palm Desktop shuts down when trying to view calendar by month

I'm using a Palm TX with the latest edition of Desktop installed (I think that's 6.2).  Everything is normal except, suddenly, I cannot view my calendar in monthly view.   Daily, weekly and yearly all work fine.  Desktop shuts down when trying to view in monthly view.  I did a system restart, a Desktop reinstallation, a download of the latest version and installation of that version and, finally, uninstallment of the existing Desktop, download of the newest version and installation of that version.  Nothing seems to enable me to view the calendar in monthly view.  This is a spontaneous event.  I've been running Desktop on a Vista Ultimate system since February without incident.  I have no idea about how to solve this.
    Thanks
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Well, here's where we are now.  It's a good thing that I have desktop on my office computer because when I tried a Hotsynch with my home desktop, Hotsynch wiped out all the data on my handheld and then hung up both the handheld and desktop in the middle of the Hotsynch.  I'm going to overwrite the entire handheld with the office desktop file.  As for the home setup, I'm thinking the only thing I can do now is uninstall Palm and wipe out the entire directory of files.  Am I correct about this?  Do I need to do a clean uninstall?

  • Calendar list view in IOS7 not showing times

I have an iPhone 5 with IOS7.  I have several calendar entries that when in the list view or search view, they show "all-day" on the left hand side when in fact they are not all-day, they have specified start and end times.  This seems to happen when I first enter an item as all-day because the time has not yet been set, once the time is set I go back and edit the entry, turn off all-day, and put a start and end time.  But when I go back to list view they still show as all-day.  In single day view the appointments appear in their correct shaded time slots.  Anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Is Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically : ON?
and the Time Zone: your city?
    Also try
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

  • List view in Calendar is gone.  Can it be re-established with iOS7?

Can teh list view in Calendar be set up in iOS7?

Open Calendar and tap the magnifying glass icon. There's your list. Now you can scroll down and get the details of the appointments you have next week and beyond. You may also be wondering about the Week view – this is accessed by turning the iPhone on its side and viewing in Portrait mode, the same way as it worked in iOS
