Calendar snooze gives wrong birthday date

I just noted something odd in iCal.
I have set up my contacts in address book with birthdays and then enabled "show birthdays" in Calendar app (Mountain Lion).
So what happened is that I had a reminder for a friends birthday tomorrow. I hit snooze and the birtday showed up in calendar as she is having her birthday today (one day too soon) as well as tomorrow.
The correct birthday is still there tomorrow. The wrong birthday is showing up as in this case 34 years and another birthday tomorrow with 35 years (which is right).
Removing "show birthdays" also deletes the wrong birthday and. Any auggestion? The birthday in my contact is correct.

I have the same issue.
As a temporary workaround i found it works to open Contacts, actually change the birthday to some random date, save, change it back. Now only the correct birthday should remain.
Let's hope apple fixes this soon, in the meantime: don't click snooze :-/

  • Calendar app showing wrong date for iCal feed.

    Has anyone else noticed that when an iCal feed publishes an event that is after 0000Z, but still on the previous date in local time, it's added to the calendar on the wrong day?
    Example:  Your phone is being used in Chicago (CST).  An ical feed you subscribe to publishes and event for 0300Z on November 5th.  That event should then actually be on November 4th at 2100 CST, however, the phone will enter the event with the corrected time of 2100Z, however, won't correct the date which should be on the 4th (CST = GMT -6 hours).

    I have my Mac's calendar auto-adjusting to time.apple.com.  After coming back from Asia, now my calendar shows that November 11th, 2014 is a Wednesday; it is supposed to be Tuesday!

  • Blackberry Calendar Sync - Wrong Events Dates

    Hi
    I recently wiped my entire calendar on my phone as it was a mess. I composed a new calender with certain re-occuring series events on outlook calendar 2012.
    The syncing porcess to my Blackberry Curve 8900 works fine, no issues raised by Desktop manager yet when i look at my phones calendar there are random events that have been placed on wrong dates?!
    EG: an event for the 01.10.12 will be showing on the 02.10.12. When i click on this event on my phone and view 'whole series' the date shows for the 01.10.12 to re-occur every few week - so why its on the 02.10.12 i have no idea - Interestingly though when i click on the same event but 'view occurance' it shows the incorrect date of 02.10.12. These events are 'entire dat events'
    Outlook is defintely correct and i have not put in this occurance for the 02.10.12 so why is it syncing to my blackberry as wrong occurance date but correct series information? bizzare. Really frustrating.
    When i look at future series dates for this incorrect occurance there doesnt seem to be a pattern, the other series are correct. However throughout the year there could be up to 15 diffierent examples of this happening on random dates.
    Ive looked at several formums and tech help. Im using OS5 operating system.
    Any workaround, fix? Does anyone else experience this issue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I have the same problem. Doesn't seem a big problem for other users, there are very few threads on this.
    Have you found any solution yet?

  • TRUNC function gives wrong date

    I am using the code
    SELECT TRUNC(SYSDATE-v_days,'DAY') INTO :P33_FROM_DATE FROM DUAL;
    where v_days is a multiple of 7 (this is used to move around weeks), this should give back the start day of the week (if done today it would give 14th), however for some reason in APEX if gives the sundays date. In SQL Dev it works fine and is reporting the Mondays date. The inconsistencies are strange, this is the only process on the page, any ideas whats causing it?
    Thanks

    Hi Elliot,
    According to the SQL User's Guide,
    "The starting day of the week used by the format models DAY, DY, and D is specified implicitly by the initialization parameter NLS_TERRITORY."
    So I'd look at your application language settings.

  • Calendar inspector shows wrong month and year

    This is more of an example of how messed up OS X's calendar is than a question. I tried to move an all-day event to a new date using the inspector in Calendar (Mac OS 10.9), and the attached shows what the inspector showed me. Although the date I was moving the event to was 2014-11-20, the calendar in the inspector was labeled as October, 2014, and the month shown appears to be November, 2015! (Nov 20, 2014 is a Thursday, while Nov 20, 2015 is a Friday). Wrong month and wrong year!
    Anyway, quitting and relaunching Calendar fixed the problem—but is it conceivable that there are bugs this stupid still in Calendar? (Don't answer, I know it!)

    Hi,
    I tried the following: Defined new value for the date format pattern as MM/yyyy.Selected to use this value. Now, when I select any date from the calendar it gives me only MM/yyyy in the text box. ofcourse the calendar shows all the dates for the month...
    Not sure what you are looking for, and not working for you.. More detail would help

  • Iphone iOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

    Hello,
    Every time I add a contact and add their birthday the date of the birthday automatically moves by one day.
    For example, I will select someones birthday as the 23rd of march and click done but the contact birthday shows 24th. Even if I select a random date say 1st June, it will say 2nd.
    When I go into the calendar app and display the birthday calendar the birthdays are right though, it will have a notification as a birthday on the 23rd.
    I have done a fresh restore from a backup and as a new iphone, still I have the error.
    I'm thinking that the contact list in iOS4 is set to a specific timezone different from my phones timezone as it adjusts it for a day. I live in New Zealand and my timezone settings are set to Auckland, New Zealand, even in the calendar time zone. When I change my timezone settings to somewhere in the USA it automatically changes the contacts birthdays to the correct date. When I change it back it adjusts te birthdays by a day again. This would be correct as the 23rd in USA would be the 24th here but my contacts are not in a different timezone so why does my iphone think they are? Even if a add a new contact it still changes the birthday date.
    Any help would be great.

    Hello,
    I have the same problem, and it was the same even for previous versions of iPhone OS. I don't think it's a time zone issue, as I am living in Norway and the reports here are the same from various locations.
    However, I think I might have found a workaround for this problem. Normally I have my mail, contacts and calendar synced via Exchange. When I in addition to syncing with Exchange select "Sync contacts with Outlook" in the "info" tab in iTunes on my computer, the dates appear to be transferred correctly. But then again, this gives me several contact groups on my iPhone, whilst I really only want and need one group, the Exchange contacts. Anyway, the contacts appear only once when I select the "group" all contacts on my iPhone.
    Hope this can be of any help until the bug is fixed.

  • Contact Birthday Date Sync Problem N9

    I have a Nokia N9.
    I sync calendar and contacts with my Google Account via the MfE account on my N9.
    The Calendar entries work correctly.
    However, the Birthday and Anniversary date entries for my contacts mis-sync by one calendar day.
    For example, if a contact has a birthday on 10th November in my Google contacts, it displays as 11th November in my N9 Contacts list. Interestingly, if you 'click on' the birthday field from the Contacts entry, it will take you to the 10th November in the Calendar (that is, the correct date!).
    The time zone in both Google and the phone are correct and set the same (Syd/Mel, GMT +11). The formats are the same (24hr Clock etc). There are no alarms set as reminders in either Google or the phone.
    Anybody know how to make the phone sync the dates correctly? Thanks

    I’ve had another look at this.
    I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
    Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
    For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
    The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
    The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
    When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
    I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
    I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
    It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

  • Desktop software changes birthday dates

    Hi,
    during synchronizaltion (Torch 9800 - Mac Calendar software - Blackberry Desktop software) birthday dates of certain people are automatically changed. Can I stop that?
    Thx,
    Sebastian

    When I sync my Torch 9850, it moves birthdays up a day in my address book; then when I sync again, it keeps hapenning.   What setting must I change to fix this.
    Please forgive my ignorance; I'm very new to Blackberrys.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

  • I'm not able to create a iphoto calendar with the correct birthday entries.

    Hello,
    I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
    I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
    I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
    First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
    Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
    I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
    Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.
    Thank you in advanced,
    Philipp

    First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
    Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
    Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
    Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

  • Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY ok, wrong with Calendar getTimeInMillis

    Hi! I've a very strange behaviour (at least for me) regarding getTimeInMillis from the Calendar class.
    I have this code:
    Calendar ahora = new GregorianCalendar(TimeZone.getTimeZone("Etc/GMT+6"),new Locale("es_MX"));
    System.out.println(ahora.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY));
    System.out.println(ahora.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH)+1);
    System.out.println(ahora.get(Calendar.MONTH));
    System.out.println(ahora.get(Calendar.YEAR));
    java.util.Date f = ahora.getTime();
    System.out.println(f.toString());And the output is:
    14
    10
    10
    2004
    Sun Oct 10 20:24:59 GMT 2004
    The strange thing, is that the Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY prints the hour correctly (14) but the Date object says it is the hour 20. What tha hell is going on there? Why one print the hour correctly and the other don't! I supouse that it has something with the TimeZone in the Calendar class, but I don't know what exactly is going on.
    Regards!

    Hi bbritta! I used the SimpleDateFormat and the result is the same. I still get the right hour from Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY but wrong from toString() from the Data object created with the milliseconds of the Calendar.
    This is what I did after your post:
    Calendar ahora = new GregorianCalendar(TimeZone.getTimeZone("Etc/GMT+6"),new Locale("es_MX"));
    SimpleDateFormat formatter =     formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("h:mm a",new Locale("es_MX"));
    java.util.Date f = ahora.getTime();
    System.out.println(formatter.format(f));In fact, the behaviour is very strange. In Mexico City we are at GMT-6, but if I put that on the TimeZone of the Calendar, it always show a plus 12 hours. For example, right now we are 15:00 on October 10 in MexicoCity, if I use GMT-6 (in theory the right timezone), I get that is the hour 3 (AM) on October 11. But if I put GMT+6, I get the right hour and day from Calendar.XXXX but wrong from the millis.
    Any other idea?

  • IPhoto wrong event date

    Right.
    So, I've recently added all my photos into iPhoto - great.
    But, the problem is...all my old photos were taken on a camera that didn't set a 'Date picture taken' attribute but does have a 'Date modified' attribute (close enough anyway). But, when I add these into iPhoto - they've all got the wrong event dates. Surely iPhoto, if it couldn't find a 'date picture taken' it would have gone with 'date modified' - like picasa 3 does.
    Any help?
    Cheers,
    Tom

    For future reference there's an application, PhotoInfo, that can batch change the EXIF date in photos, either by adding or subtracting a given time differential or by changing the entire date and time entirely. It would be best used on a batch of photos outside of iPhoto before importing. It's great for changing the time when you travel and take photos in a different time zone but didn't resset the camera's clock.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Setting the time automatically, or manually yet still gives wrong time.

    Ever since I've updated my 5c, the time keeps messing around. It's never the right time. I've tried manual and also set it automatically. It keeps delaying in time and gives wrong hour/minutes. I cannot set the alarm or do anything because the time is just wrong. I don't have a problem with my other apple devices regarding the new software update, it's just with this phone.

    Hello Basilsami,
    It sounds like your phone is not keeping the correct time and date, either when set to automatic, or manual. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    iOS: Troubleshooting issues with date and time
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3920
    Follow these steps. Test after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
    Ensure that the version of iOS on your device is up to date.
    If the option to enable date and time automatically is available, turn it on. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
    Ensure that your time zone is set up correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.
    If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
    Note: The option to set automatically might not be available on all carriers in all countries.
    Additional Information
    Note: If you find that your device's time is incorrect after you sync with your computer, your computer's time may be incorrect. Verify the computer's time in System Preferences > Date & Time (you may want to select the checkbox to set the computer's date and time automatically).
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Changing Birthday date in Apple Id account

    Hello all,
    Last year i created an apple id for each of my children, but by mistake there birthday date is wrong. Accidentally both of my children have there year of birth the same as mine.
    With IOS 8 Family Sharing new feature, when I add there account they appear as "Adult" and the "Ask to Buy" feature doesn't work...
    I Tried to change this setting in the "Manage Your Id"/Password & Security apple site, but I receive a message saying that I can not change the birthday date!
    Can someone help me with this?
    Thanks in advance
    Pedro Fonseca

    As far as I know, that is currently the only workaround to convert an existing Apple ID to a child account. It accomplishes the purpose that is intended, even if the actual DoB is not correct. Once you want to remove the restrictions associated with a child account you can change the DoB back to the real DoB and that account will no longer have restrictions in place.
