Calendar so slow & minimal that it is useless

I have always loved Palm and I can prove it because I own virtually every generation of device they have produced (except for the minor interium device upgrades) since the very first Pilot. I'm a hard core Palm evangelist and fenatic. To say that I am disappointed with the Pre does not even begin to sum up my current frustrations (which are many and will follow in additional, appropirately headed posts).
The "synergy" (ie device data porting) issues are the worst right now but after I finally struggle through all of that, the real ongoing issues begin with the fact that I CANNOT USE THE CALENDAR.
1. I cannot ask collegues in meetings to wait 30 - 45 seconds for every SINGLE change of date as we consider a variety of possible times to schedule a meeting. They are already done and have set a time before the first date has come up on the screen of my Pre. I still have to carry my Centro just to function.  So now I carry the Pre, the Centro and a 32G Touch in order to meet my mobile office needs. (Why did I stop carrying the laptop?)
2. Who at Palm thought it was a grand idea to eliminate the following calendar functions already long established in their devices:
a) the ability to color-code calendar enteries into groups
b) the ability to see the color-coding on the month view
c) the ability to set an alarm for whatever interval I require (Only someone who NEVER uses the alarms would have designed them as they are now! For power users, they are entirely useless.)
d)  the ability to customize the alarm sound (sound and volume) exclusive of all other device sounds
3. An essential feature was unforgivably eliminated when the ability to interface with a computer and full-size keyboard was thrown away. Here's why - when your device screws up (as in ports ALL calendar enteries in 5 hours earlier than is actual) or any of the many, many, MANY other porting problems which arose when moving my 1800+ calendar listings into my Pre, there is no way to fix them except to address each one by hand on the microscopic keyboard. I already had to do this for my contacts list and it took (and I am NOT exaggerating here) 26 HOURS to individually correct each incorrectly ported e-mail address, phone number etc..) Catch a clue guys, especially when porting data is involved, the ability to get in and make adjustments with a real keyboard is invaluable. Shame on your (formerly Apple) hardware guru for not knowing that.
One final note:  layering is great (and mildly useful) but I would give it up in a second to have back speed, color-coding and useful alarms. First things first, guys. Did no one there ever read Covey? You have the best hardware on the market and have seated in it a genuinely great OS but have dropped the applications ball in a HUGE way. I know you have JR there (from Apple) and he worships at the foot of hardwre (a field in which he is deservedly regarded as a God) but as Jobs has always known, it ain't nothin' without the software. I NEVER imagined how much my Pre would cause me to admire my Centro - and something is VERY WRONG with that!

I love my Pre, especially since Palm has fixed many of the issues described in other posts. But I couldn't agree more with bunnygrl60. I wanted a PDA with super internet access and the Synergy, oh and a phone. But the weekest aspect of the Pre is the calendar.
