Calendar Sync Deleting Past Entries

I have a blackberry Tour. I use Outlook. Every month or so when I do a sync (I sync more often than that) they want to delete a bunch of previous events in my calendar both on my device and PC. I want to maintain those events for reference purposes, but am unable to do so if I accept the sync. Have tried various setting changes to no avail. Is it something with RIM, something with my device, or something with Outlook, or some combination of the three. Please help

Delete a calendar without deleting past events? (iCal 5.0.3)

Hi,
Is there a way I can delete one of my calendars on iCal without losing all the past events? Right now, if I just delte it I get a warning that all event in that sequence will be gone.

Actually, I've figured it out. In order not to lose the past events in a calendar I can export the whole calendar. Delete it, then Import it into a calendar that I don't want to delete. This way all the past events will remain.

Google calendar sync - deleted repeating items do not sync to iPad

I'm syncing several Google calendars with the iPad. (the calendars are also synced with my computer, through iCal.) I have several repeating items in the calendar, but when I delete just one of them, the change is not reflected on the iPad. (iCal on the computer syncs just fine.) I have tried both Exchange and CalDAV, but the event deletions do not sync. How do I resolve this?
Incidentally, I do not use my "main" calendar in Google calendar, but use other calendars I created instead. The calendars are not public and no one else is subscribed to them.

I read that, and I tried it as you said - I am using the Exchange server, with push enabled. I even deleted the Exchange account and restarted it.
It seems that this only happens when I alter events in the past - future repeated events work just fine. Maybe the exchange server only pushes alterations to events in the future? I've tried changing the Sync option in Settings -> mail, contact, calendars, that lets you set how far back in the past the calendar should sync events, but as far as I can tell that option doesn't even work. (my events remain synced to one month past.)

Sync continues to delete past calendar items despite fixes

I have a Tour 9630 and since lates upgrade of Desktop Software, sync of calendar items wants to delete past calendar items from computer Outlook 2007. I have followed instructions from KB18694 but no change in sync problem.
Help!

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
What version of BlackBerry Desktop Software do you have installed? Can you please check to make sure the past calendar items are all still showing on your BlackBerry smartphone before trying to synchronize again. Can you then let me know if you receive this prompt when the calendar entries being deleted on the computer are still on your BlackBerry smartphone?

ICal sync- alert says will delete all past entries- Yes, I have my Keep Appointments set to "forever" AND I've tried changing the date range in desktop mgr- HELP

I just did the update for the software on the 8530. This is a new problem since the update. I cannot lose my old entries, so I am unable to sync at all now until Blackberry addresses this bug.
I have read through all of the "fixes" but none of them work.
My Keep Appointments setting has always (and I verified is still) set to "forever"
I went into the advance settings on the MAC desktop software from Blackberry and tried changing the date range to the suggested 14 days past and 365 days future. I even tried changing the past days parameter to "1" in hopes it would simply ignore old entries... It still wants to delete 435 past entries.
I have to keep these.
Help, Blackberry! Your "update" to the software is overriding my settings and has made the sync function unusable.

Thanks for the reply. I unchecked all calendars in iCal and synced and it still gave me the same notice. So then I went into the iTunes window and checked the sync only certain calendars box (instead of the all calendars box) and left all the calendars unchecked and clicked apply but when I click on sync it automatically reverts to all calendars.
When you say you unchecked all calendars did you mean in iCal? And what did you have your iCal settings at in your iTunes sync window?

I have an issue where when synchronizing may calendar with Lotus Notes version 8.5, the Blackberry will delete repeating entries. Specifically, if I load the Blackberry with all my calendar entries from Notes and then in one entry in my Notes calendar a "single" occurance of a meeting gets canceled .. the next time I sync with the Blackberry it deletes "all" occurances of that meeting from the BB. The entries remain correct on Lotus Notes. The only way I can seem to fix that is to reset sync setting and reload the calendar to the BB all over again, and then this occurs again .... this happens with both V5 and V6 of the BB Desktop Software. Has anyone seen this and is there a fix ?

Deleting past calendar events on sync with desktop manager for mac? How to proceed

I am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac. It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem. Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync. I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events? I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing. I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager. HELP! Thanks!

I am having the same problem. checked space, had to delete 2 apps. was set to forever, just changed to from 30 days in past to 18 months in future hoping it would make a difference on sync. Still trying to delete 1256 events.

Q10 BBY Link : Outlook 2013 sync deleting appointments on BBY 30 days past

BBY: Q10 BBYlink 1.1.1.32
With the release of 1.1.1 a great amount of pent up frustration and anger was released and happiness restored, but a little bit beginning to build again. Maybe I just have things set up incorrectly.
When synchronising calendar, any appointments more than 30 days old pop up to be deleted if sync is completed.
BBYlink setting for calendar are: ‘Last 30 Days And All Future Entries Only’. Which is the only option I have available, but I would like to keep all my calendar on my BBY as I need to scan back for appointments in the last few months, not just 30 days.
Is there any way to sync and not delete old appointments on the BBY?

Hi Wizzlybet,
In BBL, go to your Q10 tab.
Click Calendar->Configure.
The page "Set Up Calendar Syncing" appears.
Click on the "Device Sync Period" pulldown menu.
Choose "All Entries".

On one of the computers, I will periodically get the "Syncing with MobileMe will change more than 25% of your calendars" popup. It wants to add 120 new entries and delete 120 entries, which is kindof a lot. When I go to look at the details, it's actually adding and deleting (what appears to be) the same 120 entries, most of which date from '03-'05. This is starting to get really annoying. It doesn't occur every time this computer syncs, but it does at least once a day. Anyone have any suggestions?

Calendar duplicates & deleted entries

When I delete a calendar entry from my iMac calendar it will continue to show on the date on my iPhone. Also, iMac calendar entries will show as dups on my iPhone. Anyone have a similar problem and if so what to do???

I had the same issue and finally got help from MobileMe support that resolved it. In essence I fixed it with step 1 below:
If the issue does not occur with the new user, you should do the following:
1. Reset SyncServices:
Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder

The iPhone has a setting for how long a past event will appear in your calendar. I found steps to help you change this setting in the iPhone User Guide:
Calendar settings
There are several settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars that affect Calendar and your calendar accounts. These include:
•Syncing of past events (future events are always synced)
•Alert tone played for new meeting invitations
•Calendar time zone support, to show dates and times using a different time zone
When you tap on Sync, you will be given several options for how long you want past events to stay on your iPhone, and there is also an option to select All Events so that they remain on your calendar. You can find this information on page 69 of the iPhone User Guide

HI Jason269. Thanks for your reply, however I wrote that I already have "All events" checked. If All Events is checked and it doesn't diaplay all events, how do I fix? It seems this is a common issue, as I have read many others on here state the same problem.
I believe my problem occurred when I synced my iMac calendar to my iPad calendar using yahoo. Yesterday, I unsynced them on my iMac controls. When I checked my iPad calendar, all of my old entries reappeared - but only for five seconds and disappeared again. So, the data is saved and still there but cannot be displayed, even when I have All events checked. In fact, it only shows my individual entries for the last two months, but does show all my recurring entries. If I switched to last six months, I will see everything for the last six months. If I switch back to all events, it is only for the last two months.
As I mentioned, others on here have expressed exactly the same issue, including the two month example and having used yahoo.
For legal purposes, I need to be able to use the information from my indidual calendar entries in an upcoming court case. So I really need to fix this ASAP!

Looks like you are on some very old software. Update your iOS and you can disable the calendar notificaitons.

Syncing deleted my calendar on the phone AND outlook

help!!!!!!! I am about to throw this phone off the roof. I was having major calendar syncing issues so I found a post that told me to delete everything from outlook and re-download itunes and sunc again. somehow it created another calendar in outlook with the info, which i deleted. I then tried to sync again with the intent of the info going from my iphone to my outlook (I made SURE it was not vise versa). This **** software wiped out BOTH calendars. Help. Without my calendar, I may as well submit my letter of resignation tomorrow!!!

I had a very similar issue. Bought the 3G and tried to sync it with my Outlook (2002) and it deleted about 3 dozen calendar events. It seemed to be specifically recurring events, and I think they all had reminders. Not sure though - recreated them all, so let's see what happens.
