Calendar sync version 1.1.4 w/ Itunes 7.7
I upgraded to the new iTunes but have not upgraded my iPhone to version 2.0. I keep getting an error when syncing my calendar to Outlook that says "cannot sync calendar iTunes encountered an error when merging records". It gives me no opportunity to resolve the conflicts....what does this mean & how do I fix???
Updated to 2.0.1, yet iTunes still hangs on Contacts sync.

Calendar syncing problems with outlook and iphone
Months and months ago I had the following window pop up when I go to sync my phone:
"synching with iphone will change more than XX% of your calendars"
First I have to say the vagueness of Apples messages is disappointing. This message does not convey to me exactly what its going to do if I accept the message. This is my first apple product and I love my iphone, but itunes and everything related to the PC is disappointing! Anyway, I have been hitting cancel because when I attempt to lookup the problem online in a Google search I don't find any quick definitive answers. I no longer use outlook on this computer, so I want all the calendar entries in the phone to remain the same. I've attempted to uncheck calendar syncing and get the following message:
"Itunes will no longer sync calendars to the Iphone. Would you like itunes to remove calendars previously synced to you iphone"
Once again, the infamous apple user friendliness I've heard so much about doesn't seam to be true! This message is so vague. What calendars is it going to remove, the ones on the pc or the phone? And why would it remove anything, I just want it to stop syncing. Urg, frustraded. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.Originally all of Apple products were intended for use with Mac computers. Macs have default program - iCal to sync calendars. Windows default program is ironically Microsoft Outlook. There couple more options in iTunes for
calendar sync, but those need to be chosen and not default.
In your particular situation since you don't have outlook anymore, you don't need to make any changes. No outlook - no sync. Apple way - no user interference nessesary.
Please do remember that everyting I write is just my opinion, nothing more or less. -
My iPhone 4 will not sync my new voice memos from the "Voice Memos" app to my computer. This is frustrating, should not be so hard, can someone please help. I use PC with windows 7 with iPhone version 6.1.3 and iTunes most recent. Thanks.
In the Music tab of iTunes, do you have 'Include Voice Memos' checked?

after I download Itunes, when trying to sync Ipod, message says "needs newer version of mobile support, uninstall Itunes, and reinstall Itunes, and the same process starts all over again. why is that?
Try removing and then reinstalling the Apple software using these instructions.

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

I've downloaded the newest version of softwear to my iTunes libary (iOS 10.5 i believe) iTunes store now dosn't function right and i'm not able to sync. my iPod 4G with my libary. i've tried to reinstall iTunes, but for no use. help please.
well i have to be honest, but i don't know if it the vista you use has any significance for this. but you can try.
okay follow:
1: click "start" on the status line on the buttom of your screen.
2: then click on "all Programs" and find "Accessories" and find the "command prompt"
3: Right click with your mouse "command prompt" and click on "run as administrator"
(as you has click'd on "run as administrator", "command prompt" should appear.)
4: when it appears you need to type this "netsh windsock reset"
5: wait for your computer to registrer the command you gave it, and restart your computer.
then erverything should be pretty much as good or better then new. -
TS1347 How to Sync iPhone 4S iOS7.1 Calendar to Win 8.1 Outlook2013 via iTunes - help?
BACKGROUND & CONTEXT
Having just spent crazy money on a new Windows 8.1 laptop and Office 365 software, I learn only now from Microsoft that over the air sync of Outlook Calendar to iPhone Calendar is not supported. I was forced to get Win8.1 as Win XP was no longer supported and I have to have a Windows PC for work reasons. Previously, on my WinXP laptop I was successfully 2-way syncing Outlook 2007 via Google Calendar Sync to my iPhone Calendar. It worked like a dream (I was forced to use Google because the previous MobileME over the air calendar sync destroyed all my calendars - wiped them clean - a business disaster for me - so I will avoid Apples iCloud sync on calendars now for the same reason).
I read all over the www that you cannot sync Outlook 2013 (windows) via Google Calendar because Google has withdrawn their free Google Calendar Sync service for new PC's. I read people trying workarounds but most seems to fail and create other issues, which I do not want.I need a clean reliable solution - just a 2-way sync between my i{Phone Calendar and my Win8.1 Outlook 2013 calendar. I am realsing that the war between Apple, MS and Google has left me disadvantaged as a customer fo all three and I am frankly angry at all three of them, but that's not what I am here to get help on.
I am an iTunes user but not on WIndows - I have a separate MacBook Pro which I sync the iPhone with only for music/videos. I do not want to use the MacBook Pro for business or calendars.
QUESTIONS
Is the only reliable solution for me to use Itunes on my PC and sync iPhone calendar to Win8.1 Outlook calendar via USB cable?
If it is the only solution - how do I set up a new installation of iTunes on my new Win8.1 laptop so I can ONLY sync the calendar with the iPhone when connected by cable and NOT all my music/vidos ( I want them to remain on the MacBook Pro, and in any case - my new Win8.1 laptop has only a small SSD which I need for work document storage)?

Does anyone out there know if Outlook 2013 (PC) works in calendar sync with iTunes?

I seem to remember that the first time you cable an iPhone to a new installation of iTunes on a new PC.... that it goes into automatic syncing of your iTunes Account (previously held and used on other computers) - and I most definately do not want this to happen. I need full control of manually determining what I manually sync on first hook-up. How can I get thois control please?? -

I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing. What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?
Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!

ITunes 7.7 slowly Calendar Syncing, OutlookSyncClient don't stop etc.
Yesterday i've update to iTunes 7.7. And iTunes getting worser every release on Windows.
1. Calendar Syncing needs 3-4 Minutes (much slowler than in 7.6)
2. After Syncing OutlookSyncClient.exe needs constantly 10-20% of CPU Cycles even when my iPod Touch (1.1.4) is disconnteced.
3. When OutlookSyncClient.exe ist running (not syncing with the touch) then also the Outlook.exe ist constantly using 15-30% of the CPU Cycles.
4. So i have around 40-50% CPU usage while doing nothing!
5. While Syncing the CPU Usage is lot higher (80-90%)
6. After killing the OutlookSyncClient.exe Proucess everything went back to normal
Generally (even in 7.6) the performance of iTunes is terrible e.g. high cpu usage while simply downloading PodCasts.
I often get a blacked iTunes Windows, i have to minimize it and restoring it via the tray symbol to get a normal look. Or i can move the mouse over every portion of the window.
How to get that all fixed?

Most annoying.
Have reinstalled iTunes, restaretd PC / iTouch, to no avail.
Any more ideas ?

When I connect my Iphone to the computer Ai have to sync automatically my outlook calendar. Never had any issues except with the latest download that tell is doing some sync over the air with ICloud and that I can go to my Iphone and change that. I have downloaded the HD version of a movie from itunes, but when I sync it to my iPad 2 it will not play. It appears that it is on the iPad, but it will not play. Is this because it is HD, and if so is there a way to change it from being HD? Thanks
I'm having a similar problem ... just used my iPad 2 to purchase the Bourne trilogy and it downloaded fine but I did not try to play it right away. Then I plugged the iPad into the computer and it downloaded the SD versions of the movie and I used iTunes to sync my movies. Then I tried to play it and it said it could not open the movie. I then did a full iPad restore and did a fresh sync and now I get the Cannot Opne pop up. Did you ever find an answer to your question?

Windows 2003 calendar sync doesn't work with iTunes 7.6
I updated to the new iTunes 7.6 yesterday and found out that calendar sync didn't work. I tried everything that is suggested by the Apple.com support web site. None worked. I didn't have any problem with my calendar with iTunes 7.5. I hope Apple could resolve this issue ASAP as I need my work calendar be synced on my iPhone.
Hi, I just bought my iPhone a couple of days ago and am having the same problems.
I have a Macbook at home, but need to be able to sync with my work computer for contacts and calendar. At work I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP 2 and MS Outlook 2003 SP 3. I've made sure to update all MS software. I'm running on iPhone 1.1.3 and iTunes 7.6.
My contacts sync fine, but, so far, no luck with my calendar. I've gone through the trouble of completely deleting everything off my calendar and am trying "test" appointments to no avail. What's really frustrating is that I've logged out of my ID on this computer and logged in using a test ID. I can successfully sync a test appointment following those steps.
Tech support tells me that since I'm successful under those conditions, it must be a corrupt entry on my main calendar. But, as I've mentioned, I deleted everything I can find off my main calendar and am still not able to get it to sync successfully.
This is quite frustrating. -

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
