Calendar syncing question - iPhone & iPad

I have an iPhone and an iPad...they both came with calendars that are adequate for my needs. Why am I unable to sync them together???.

Or sync them both to a Google calendar using a Gmail account. My iPad and iPhone calendars are synced this way.

Well now that we are all correct ... I am having the same problem (s)
My ipad 2 will not sync with icloud calendars.
iCloud on iPad shows:
correct iCloud account
Contacts and Calendars are turned on
1.8 gig avaialable in free icloud starage
iCloud backup turned on
my last iCloud back up was finished just minutes ago
go to ipad calendar app and only show one calendar ... Birthdays, which I have NO IDEA where that cam from.
The is a PLUS in the upper right, it is greyed out and no functional
I see Calendars as a "menu" item at the bottom of the screen, but can only edit my birthday calendar.
I see no way to add icloud calendars to my ipad calendars and everything seems to be set up.

Iphone 5 seems unable to sync calendars with ITunes! The genius bar set mine to sync via Icloud, but it only worked once (?).
Finally I fixed it like this.
First, I merged the multiple calendars from ICal thanks to http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_merge_ical_calendars and I called it “only.”
Second, I unchecked the gmail calendar (seems iCloud had a problem with it): On the Iphone, open the calendar, go to the bottom of the page, click on calendars and uncheck the gmail calendar. Click Done.
Third, every time I want to sync, I go to the Iphone Settings, iCloud, and uncheck calendars. I respond “keep on my Iphone”. Then, check calendars on again, click merge, and.… voila!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unless you have the contacts backed up somewhere, you won't be able to restore them.
You and your son should have your own iCloud accounts then you can keep your own contacts and calendars etc and avoid deleting each others.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

IPhoto not Syncing to iPhone & iPad!!!

When I sync my iPhone & iPad through iTunes iPhoto syncs my Photo Stream Events (folders) like say Jan 2013 Photo Stream then Feb 2013 Phto Stream but after the 6.1.3 update it does not sync my iPhoto Library Events anymore... I restarted all my devices and my iMac and also repaired database in iPhoto on iMac and also repaied all permissions in Disk Utility... Any help would be great... iPhoto 11

similar problem. in itunes, the option to synch photos no longer appears. Icloud has been doing this and storage has free space. Want to change my preference and have synch come directly from my Adobe Photoshop elements photo files. No option to do anything with photos appears on iTunes. appreciate any help!!

IWork files do not sync with iPhone/iPad using iTunes

When trying to sync Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents by adding the files to the respective app category in iTunes >Apps >Apps >Documents and pressing Add..., I see the word "sync" on iPhone/iPad just for about a second and then the homescreen on iPhone/iPad reappears. But the files are not there (in Pages, Numbers or Keynote). Other apps I use work fine with this transfer method. What is the problem here?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried that to no avail.
I tried to toggle on and off every setting you can imagine and restarting. Deleting the apps and reinstalling.
Nothing.

Media will not sync with iPhone/iPad

Set-up MacBook Pro latest and greatest (hardware & software).
External HDD connected via AirPort Extreem (USB), all media..... MP3's, Movies, TV Shows and that you typically sync is stored on HDD via iTunes.
So when I sync my iPhone/iPad nothing (media) that is located on the external HDD sync's.
I am going crazy..... Please help if you can....

Syncing problem iPhone/iPad calendar to laptop/desktop

I have a very strange problem: when I enter a new event in my calendar on a computer it syncs immediately to my iPhone and iPad.
But when I enter a new event on my iPhone or iPad, it only syncs to the iPad or iPhone and NOT to the computer. How to solve this???

Or sync them both to a Google calendar using a Gmail account. My iPad and iPhone calendars are synced this way.

Google has announced today that you can now sync your calendar and contacts with the iPhone and it supports push.
I've been using MobileMe to sync my calendar and contacts and have been waiting for the day when I could sync my Google Calendar because of the fact I have so many subscribed calendars at work that I need access too.
For anyone that's done this syncing with Google yet, can you confirm the following:
1. Will it allow you to do just calendar and not touch your contact data if you don't want it to?
2. Will you be able to add reminders (alerts) that will work on the phone the same was as the iCal syncing works?

Is this possible?
Setup:
MacBook and MacBook Pro at home syncing iCal events (in four different calendars) and Address Book contacts with iPhone via Mobile Me. At work I forward Outlook appointments to Gmail, which puts them in a Google calendar, which the Macs at home pull into their iCal using CalDAV. Of course, that calendar does not sync to the iPhone. This setup circumvents the problem that the iPhone's Outlook Exchange syncing isn't supported at work.
Question:
Is it possible to sync just one calendar in Google calendar with the iPhone? I don't want the four calendars that sync over Mobile Me to sync to Google Calendars as well. I suppose that work calendar, once synced with the iPhone, will find its way via Mobile Me to iCal on the Macs at home, so that I can then simply unsubcribe to the CalDAV feed.

IPhone calendar sync question

What do I change so that when I sync, events entered on my iphone 3GS calendar sync to my computer calendar? Events entered on my computer sync to my phone, but NOT vice versa. I have "sync all calendars" checked off in itunes info screen.

Doing both does nothing but duplicate the calendars and calendar events on your iPhone. When doing both, each is synced and stored separately and differently on the iPhone. The calendars and calendar events synced direct with iCal via the iTunes sync process are stored separately and not synced over the air with your iPhone and vice-versa.

Multiple google calendars synced to my ipad with exchange but the entries don't appear

I've done this many times before with various iphones, but my new ipad2 vexes me. I want all my google calendars to appear in the calendar app on my ipad. I've:
set up the google account as an exchange account
signed in to m/google.com/sync
selected the correct device
enabled the calendars
you can see the complete list of calendars in the the cal app, but the actual events don't appear.
if i create a new event on one of these invisable calendars, it appears.
thoughts?

Outlook 2007 sync with iPhone & iPad: All events on device one day behind !

Dear all,
I stumbled over this recently when I started with my brand new iPad. Date/Time/Region/Timezone settings on desktop computer (win7) and iPhone and iPad are identical. Sync with Google calendar and 3rd party products on iPhone / iPad / Outlook works perfect.
Can maybe anyone shed some light on this ? iPhone calendar used to sync fine, not sure when the problem started (maybe with OS 3.1.2 ?)

It would be nice if the iPhone let you create smart albums on the fly, but it's pretty much a dumb client for iPhoto. So, you'll have to do more work in iPhoto setting up what you want to see on the iPhone.
My method--I have smart albums (eg, Rated pix from Hawaii, Rated pix from Christmas 2009) and sync those. I also sync all Rated Pix as a big album, but that's not that usable. So mine's not a very efficient method---I wind up creating lots of albums and sorting out which ones I want synced.
A workable approach for you might be to create multiple smart albums, perhaps based on date--eg, "checked photos from Jan-June 2010". Create one of those every six months and you've got some basic, easy to maintain organization.
I would actually like to see both iPhoto and iTunes have a feature--"sync my rules to the iPhone and reapply them to the big bucket of music/photos files that I've moved to the iPhone". But I doubt Apple would ever do it. But you can Send Feedback from the Help menu in iPhoto, if you like.
