Calendar syncs to iPhone via cloud from my iMac but not from my iPhone to my iMac. How do i get it to sync from phone to mac?

when i enter calendar info on my iphone, i won't sync to my imac. When i enter data on my imac, it does appear on my iphone. what am i doing wrong?? i have my iphone on wifi and charging. i also tried hitting the calendar refresh button but its not working.
any advice?

Check that the calendar you are adding the appointment to on the phone is an iCloud calendar and not an On My Phone calendar.

You should be able to delete them from the bookshelf in the iBooks app via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf. If they show on the bookshelf with a cloud symbol on them then try turning Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases 'off'. Is that what is happening ?

If you have deleted all the photos from your iPhone you can't get them back. The only place they might exist is if you backed them up to iPhoto if you have a Mac. If you have iCloud and Photo Steam enabled, then the last 100 photos would be saved in your Photo Stream.

I use Time Machine with an external HD. That seems to do what I need. Others also recommend an second EHD with a bootable clone of your boot drive and use a 3rd party app like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, Synk Pro, etc. to keep the clone up to date.
In addition to Time Machine I have a hard drive that I keep key files backed up with Synk Pro which does incremental backups, i.e. copying only those new or modified files. For other candidates for the cloning and backup apps to go MacUpdate.com and search for "file backup" and "clone".

I'm looking at older photos but the sliders are from Lightroom 4 and not my current Lightroom 5 sliders. How do I get the photos to work on Lightroom 5 editing?

I was looking at some old photos from 2012 but when I clicked the files (.dng) instead of opening with the sliders for LR5, it opened sliders for I believe LR4. How do I get those older photos to open under LR5 sliders and not older versions of LR?

The quickest way to update just one photo is to click the lightning bolt icon under the histogram in the Develop module. This can be more convenient than scrolling all the way down to the Calibration tab.
A quick way to update a whole batch of them is to select any number of them in Grid view, and then choose Photo > Develop Settings > Convert to Current Process. The AutoSync way works too, as long as you remember to turn it off immediately after you're done.
Like JimHess suggests, I don't automatically convert them all at once, but on a case by case basis because they don't always look better after conversion. The benefits of the new process version can potentially make them look better, but you usually have to do a few more adjustments to get them there. If you don't have time to do that yet but you need to use the existing images soon, leave them in the old process version for now.

I have been trying to download Mountain Lion and I keep getting 'an error has occured' after about 40 mins or an hour. Then I notice that the iMac is not connected to the Internet. However the iPad and iPhone are (using airport). I am using ethernet adapters which are paired. I have also taken my 24inch iMac out of the study and into the hall and connected it directly to the router using an ethernet cable with still the same result. I have been on the Apple helpline to a high level but they have been unable to sort it out and we've checked most things. I have plenty of capacity on the iMac so it should take the Mountain Lion ios easily. I have checked the broadband speed and it was 6.21 (using the ethernet adaptors). Could there be a conflict somewhere between the iMac and the BT broadband? It does seem to drop out when we listen to our Sonos system too. Please help. Thanks, Fioled

Downloading Moutain Lion requires a high speed broadband connection.
6.21 will never work. That is not broadband.
Make certain your Mac can run Mountain Lion > System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion
Check your download speed here > Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
Anything less than 15Mbps will not be fast enough to download Mountain Lion. It's a 4.35GB (approximately) file. That will time out on a slow connection.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

HT4325 I can use airplay on iMac but not iPad or iPhones

My iMac streams music to my Apple TV units and I have the airplay icon appear. I can happily stream music to different speakers from my iMac.
I am using Pandora to play music on my iMac and would like to stream it to different speakers. I thought I could do this using either my iPhones (4S & 5) and iPad2 but no such luck. It would appear that I cannot stream to the AppleTVs as they are first generation but they happily work with the iMac?!?
Am I missing something or is there a way I can achieve streaming from these devices using Airplay?
Background: The wifi is fine, all devices are using the same system and are connected using a router. It works well for the iMac using itunes but alas Pandora is not available on itunes.
Any suggestions?

I need to download Firefox 3.6 and have tried to do so from your site, but it keeps going to the update. How can I get 3.6?

The newer versions of Firefox are incompatible with my website builder. Tech support advised me that Firefox 3.6 would work.

Firefox 3.6 came out in 2010. It is VERY old in terms of software and especially web browsers. Firefox is currently on version 36.0.4 and version 37 comes out next week. You should ALWAYS be running the latest version of a web browser. Don't believe me? If you are using 3.6, you are vulnerable to most of the bugs at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/, and your browser can't use all the new features http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Firefox#Version_4.0 from version 4 down (there are lots). You are stuck in technology 5 years old and can't use all the modern awesomeness.
Honestly, if your website building tool only supports Firefox 3.6, you should consider finding a new tool. There are lots of modern web technologies (like HTML5, CSS3, etc.) that that tool is probably forcing you to miss out on.
If you really need to use that tool, can't upgrade, and firefox 3.6 is the only version that works (I'd try using it with modern Firefox, it might work) then use the portable version of Firefox 3.6 and use regular Firefox for all your regular surfing. If you have emmptied the iPhoto trash then you're going to need a file recovery application like File Salvage

Why can't you update?
There should be nothing preventing the update from 6.1.3 or 6.1.2 or even from 5 directly to 7.
What happens when you try to update?
Have you tried to Update through a computer running the most up top date version of iTunes?
