Calendar time difference

Hi, I have a problem, when I sync my Nokia 6300 with my Outlook calendar the appointment time gets changed on my phone to an hour earlier somehow. It has only recently started doing this, it was fine before. I would appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks

check to see that both your computer and your phone are set in your correct time zone. If they are not the same the phone could be trying to make up for the time difference by altering the alarm times by an hour.
You do not say where you are so I cannot give you your exact time zone.
Have you removed your battery from your phone recently and had to reset the time perhaps? This might have caused the problem

I have the 6085 and the 7.1 Suite for Vista.  When I synchronize my calendar, the time on the phone is 5 hours earlier than on the calendar.  Anybody know how to remedy that?

I have read this thread and here is my problem with a 5300

When meetings/appointments are synchronized from Outlook to the cell phone the time advances [decreased] by one hour.

    1) Disabling the PC daylight saving auto update. The meetings/appointment moved up by two hours
    2) I have not turned off the cell phone auto update option [I would set time rather that the service provider]

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Problem caused with appt times by changing calendar time zone support?

    I've got a 30Gb iPod Touch, version 4.0.2.
I've always kept the Settings' Date & Time timezone for the correct location, but it was only a while back that I realized that there was also a Time Zone under the Settings, Calendar, and so I changed it so that it was correct (it was previously set to Kabul, AF time, and it was then changed to Ottawa, ON time).
I'm thinking that this may have messed up all my future appointments, as my appointments have been switched to midnight or somewhere near it, for the day prior to when the appointment was supposed to have been. I can't think of anything else that would be causing this, and didn't see this exact problem occurring for anyone else when I did a search of the discussions.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening and what I can do to set it right?

    Hi Cindiii,
Time zone support has often been a point of contention and confusion for many users. Unfortunately, there is no simple fix at the present time. Do you have any idea as to why you touch was set to Kabul? Did you buy it new? If not, perhaps the last user had it set to this time?
In any case, Calendar does allow for its own time zone settings. This is to allow the user to create events for his/her home time zone while traveling. Even if your system time zone reflects the current time zone that you are in, appointments added to Cakendar will show up in the time zine that you choose based in the time zone you set in the Calendar settings.
This definitely sets up conflicts if you are trying to schedule an appointment that is outside of your home time zone. Now that you have switched the time zone in your Calendar settings to your home time zone, there is nothing you can do about the events already created. As I see it, you have only two options:
    1. Change the time zone back to Kabul time and view your events as though they were your local time, or
    2. Leave the time zone in the Calendar settings to your home time zone and either time adjust the events in your head (knowing the time difference), or manually changing them to the correct time one by one.
I'm sorry this doesn't provide you with a magic solution, but I really don't see any other alternatives.

  • Time differences between ical and iphone

When syncing ical to iphone i have a time difference of 9 hours. (dates on the iphone are always 9 hours earlier) No matter on which device the entry was made.

Same thing is happening when syncing the iphone with my google calendar.

  • Can anyone help me determine why iCloud changes the calendar time of appointments.

Here's my situation: i use an iphone registered/acquired in spain. the phone is unlocked and now carries a t-mobile card, as i am currently in nyc, but all my calendar appointments have a 6 hour time difference from those entered on my mac and vice versa. there are several threads about this issue, all of which point to the various hardware and software settings (time zone support on or off on the iphone as well as on the app on mac and phone). another user mentioned the setting provided for in the icloud calendar function itself, where the proper time zone can be modified. all to no avail, i stil get my 6 hour time difference.
    anyone please?
    thanksamillion!

Thank you fromsouth, for your interest, but it didn't help.
I have 3 scenarios: Entering an appointment on the mac's calendar, on the phone's, and on iCloud's calendar. If I enter an appointment on the mac, it shows up correctly on iCloud, but is off by 6 hours on my phone's app. If I enter it on the phone's app, it will be off on iCloud and therefore off too on the mac. I've deleted the app (I use WeekCal, but see the same discrepancies on the iCal app) and reset it all new, but the problem prevails. Unlike my earlier assumption that the problem lies with iCloud, I now believe it is in the phone, although wouldn't know where. I see that the iCal app on OS has the ability to adjust for the time zone. When entering the event on the phone, it gets syncronized on the Mac at the phone's time zone, which for some reason appears to be set at my original Spanish setting (GMT+1), even after I reset the time zone to NY. I can manually adjust the calendar time zone setting on my Mac to EST to correct the time for the appointment.
    Quite frustrating!

  • Calendar time got shifted during travel

I live in LA and I travel to Chicago and NY for business, that's three different time zones involved. I was using Exchange Active Sync before, the time zone support on the iPhone was turned OFF. When I entered an event for 9:00 AM, it showed 9:00 AM no matter which city / which time zone I was in.
However, recevently I turned off Exchange and switched to MobileMe, then a nightmare started.
Appreantly it adjusted time for me automatically according to the difference between the time zone where I entered in and where I was viewing it. When I was in NY, I enter 9:00AM for an appointment which will happen in Chicago, when I arrived Chicago, it shifted to 8:00 AM.
I do not appreciate this auto shift because it affects a lot of my event including flights! Ii did not find a way to fix it, any suggestion would be appreciated!

I have the same problem. You can change the time-zone support on and off from settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendar. But that doesn't really help a lot. At least didn't help me. I have no idea who would find this calendar that chances the times automatically usefull. I would call it a nightmare!
I travel a lot around the globe in many different timezones, and therefore I can't use the calendar times no more. If I need to put my flight-scedule to my calendar I must write the times somewhere else. For instance with connecting flights, three different timezones during one trip it's impossible to write down the scedule to iPhone. It's a huge problem for me. I usually make the schedule of trips when in another time-zone but when I finally come to the location, the times have changed.
I want a calendar that doesn't chance any times automatically. I really need a calendar I can trust! If I write that my flight is leaving at 9pm, I want it to be like that in my calendar even if I wasn't in the same time zone yet.
Please apple, take this time-zone madness away!

  • ICloud Calendar Time Issues

Does iCloud not know there is a 1 hour time difference between Brisbane and Sydney, every year between October and April ???
My iPhone and iPad calendars are 1 hour out from iCloud calendar when signed in on Mac, despite being set to Brisbane Time. My Mac has the correct time also. When I re set  it using the little map it just keeps defaulting to Sydney, Eastern Standard Time and changing the times I have entered by one hour ? I will contact Apple tomorrow or am I missing something obvious here ?

Try adding a new event on your phone then check your calendar on icloud.com from a computer to see if the event appears there.  If not, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  Here, make sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your defult (and not something else like On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo, an exchange account calendar, etc.)  After setting your iCloud calendar as your default, try adding an event again to see if it appears on icloud.com now.
If your default account setting is correct and it still doesn't sync to icloud.com, add any missing events from your phone's calendar to icloud.com.  After the calendar on icloud.com is up to date, on your phone go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On.  Then try adding a new event on your phone again and see if it appears on your calendar on icloud.com now.
Once you phone is syncing properly, go through these same steps on your iPad.

  • 3 hour time difference

I purchased the iphone while out on the west coast and returned home and when I sync my phone to my computer there is a 3 hour time difference from what I have typed on my appointments on the phone to what appears on my icalendar. When I try and correct the time on either device it changes the appointment on the other by the three hours. Oh what to do?

If you are syncing your iPhone calendar events with iCal, do you have Time Zone Support enabled with iCal, and do you have Time Zone Support enabled with your iPhone?
If yes, confirm your time zone settings on your Mac at System Preferences > Date & Time under the Time Zone tab.
And on your iPhone at Settings > Mail > Contacts > Calendars under the Calendars section > Time Zone Support.

If you look at the table which is output of the given query , there is column called "STATE_ID" It shows the current state ie open or closed or all report.
The column 'PREVIOUS_STATE' shows the state before the current state. .In the table in 2nd row in previous_state column there is state_id = 1 (open)which is the state before 'all report state'

  • How to measure time difference between zero crossing of a sine wave and rise time of a pulse on a same graph?

I have a 50Hz sine wave and a pulse signal on a same graph. The phase difference between two is between 0-90 degrees.
Now I need to calculate the time difference between (when the sine wave crosses zero volts) and (when the pulse rises). The frequency will stay approximately same for both signals.
The application is for a three phase generator. In simple words, when the time difference between the zero-crossing of sine wave and the pulse rises increases, that means that the load on the generator has increases.
I am a beginner user of LabView (version 9, 2009), maybe it is a very simple problem but I've been pulling my hair out for the last few days and coudln't figure anything out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using DAQ USB-6008 to measure these voltages and pulse from the generator and a sensor
I have attached a jpg (a graph that i just made with excel to explain). The time 't' is what I am trying to measure

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi
Thanks for the code but I'm afraid it won't work. Like you said the probability of choosing a value that is on both graphs may not happen. This is something that I would like the code to do automatically.
But I did use the previous code posted and made some modifications to it and it seems to work perfectly. Now the next thing is to be able to get just that one value that tells you the first time difference.
Here is what I get using that code.
As you can see from the t Values. I only need the one that is highlighted. If there is a way to filter out the rest it would be great.
I was thinking of a while loop and as soon as the value is higher than 3E-5 it would store the number and stop the loop, but I'm not too familiar with arrays in labview.
Here is the the code modified.
As you can see, it wasn't that big of a modification and it still is your code.
    I will keep trying.
    Thanks for the help

  • Lost connection detection time difference

Having a problem understanding why a broken JDBC connection is detected under Windows much quicker than it is under Linux.
I have an process that opens a connection to MSSQL using JDBC, a Stored Procedure is then executed and the result set
processed, this execute step is repeated every 60 seconds or so. If any exception is thrown then resources are closed, sleep
for 60 seconds, the connection is reopened (if fails then sleeps and repeats), once reopened the process continues. There is logging throughout
    the above steps.
On Windows Vista 64bit Sun Java platform the process runs fine, if I deliberately break the connection (stop MSSQL service), the process
logs a problems within 60 seconds and starts handling the error, when the MSSQL comes back then within 60 seonds the connection is remade
and the process continues as expected.
Under Ubuntu 10 64bit both Sun and OpenJDK the process runs fine, until the connectionis broken, as it takes about 17 minutes for the exception to be thrown
for the broken connection (stopped MSSQL) to be detected, as opposed to under Windows taking seconds. Once detected then the process works as expected, retrying
    and reconnecting as it should.
The libs and code used are the same the only difference between the windows and linux versions are the logging path parameter, have tried with different versions of Java
and with different MSSQL JDBC drivers.
What could be the reason for the time difference in the lost connection detection between Windows and Linux? Any help tips would be most welcome.
    Thanks.

The connection is only made once and used throughout, it is only closed if there is a problem. This runs absolutely fine with logging for weeks, the execute and processing take millisecondsIt is pointless to keep the connection in that situation. Create it every time.
Doing that might even fix your problem. But regardless you should still not keep it.
Have jujst checked the timings and if the db connection is broken the on Linux (Ubuntu) the exception generated by step 4. takes up to 15 minutes 35 seconds to move on to step 7. on Windows though it is instant, there is a log message output prior to the execute statement this outputs then the exeception logged. You have an existing connection.
Then you attempt a request which I am guess takes 17 minutes to timeout. (That happens because you are testing by stopping the server.)
    That is the problem.
First verify the connection url. It might have timeout values in it.
If not then the next most likely cause is that someone changed the OS (not java) TCP timeout values. Bad idea if they did. And the only way to fix is to change them back to something reasonable. You can code around this by using two threads. One that sets a timer and the other that runs the request. If the timer fires then attempt to cancel the request (see the jdbc api.)

  • Calendar time zone on iOS 7

the time zone has disappearead on the calendar after updating to ios 7, how can it be defined? I travel a lot and this feature was very helpful in avoiding errors.

You have to enable Time Zone Support under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section at the bottom).  If you enable the setting while you are in the middle of creating an event, you have to cancel and re-create it.
Now, when you create a new Calendar entry, it will have a Time Zone field under the End time setting.

  • Calendar times off by 1 hour

Updated to new version of iTouch software today.  After process was complete all of my calendar entry times for my corporate email account are off by 1 hour.

Some things you can check to troubleshoot this include:
Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you.  Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off.  If you have a Mac, open the Calendar app and to to Mail>Preferences>Advances and uncheck “Turn on time zone support”.
