Calendar times change on 800w

Hello,
When I set appointments on my calendar for a time, I find later on that the time has been changed by an hour (typically an hour earlier).   Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to get it to stop.
Thanks.
Maisha
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

Thanks for the response.  The timezone is the same (EST).  It doesn't happen after a sync.  In fact it almost seems random, so I can't tell when the times are being changed.  For example, I looked at my calendar today and noticed that my afternoon appointment had been changed from 5:00 to 4:00.  I'm not sure when that change happened.
Thanks.

  • N8 calendar times change when in new time zone

How do you stop the calendar times changing when you enter a new time zone? This is very frustrating, particularly when the calendar contains flight times etc which you have entered in the local time zone of place of departure. Then when you move into that time zone it automatically changes every calendar entry! Annoying! I realise I can deselect automatic time zones, but then I'm guessing when I do change the time zone manually to where I am (so that it shows the time of day, and I can set an alarm to wake me up, etc!!!) then the same thing will happen - all my calendar entries will change. Hope someone has worked it out already.

the times are stored on the phone in absolute time, lets call it gmt. they are then displayed on your handset in local time.
the times aren't actually changing as you change time zones. they are very much staying the same.
to achieve what you re after you are just going to have to enter the times in one of the text fields.
There's no dignity in begging for kudos. Do it for the karma.

  • Calendar time changed when sync between itouch and mac

7:30am event on my mac changes to 4:30am on my itouch. Everything is 3 hrs early! I am sure time zone is right. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks.

I have had same issue & the Apple store even swapped my Touch over lst week, with no change in result. However, I found this today in one of the forum threads:
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Time Zone Support>New York

  • Since Time Change, iCal and iPhone Calendar Time Are All Messed Up

Ever since the most recent daylight-savings time change, I noticed all events I created in iCal, when synced with my iPhone, became an hour off. If I edit the event on the iPhone, it stays the correct time on my iPhone, but when it syncs with iCal again, the time on iCal goes off by another hour, even though the time for the event on the iPhone stays correct. (Hopefully that makes sense) Has anyone else experienced this problem? It is incredibly annoying, because now I have no trust in any of my calendar entries as to what the correct time is.
As an example: I created an event for Sunday the 16th on iCal on my Mac for a 1-hour soccer game from 8:00PM - 9:00PM. When I synced my iPhone, I noticed a few days later that the event on my iPhone now said the event was from 9:00PM - 10:00PM...one hour off! I edited the event on my iPhone, and re-synced. Now my iPhone has the correct time (which I manually edited on the phone) but iCal now says the event goes from 7:00PM - 8:00PM. Again, an hour off, but in the reverse direction (an hour off early, rather than late). When I sync now, even though the times on the iPhone and the times on iCal don't match, they do not change...it's as if either the computer or the phone didn't recognize daylight savings time or something, and thinks it has the correct time for the event. Both my Mac and my iPhone's clocks do display the correct time and date, however, so it's not like the system clock is off. It is completely bizarre, and I entered my entire teams schedule this way, so ALL games were off, and now is completely screwed up. Please help.

Yes, I did. I posted an identical post in the iPhone forum since no one answered here. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1791145&tstart=0
The first reply solved the problem. It involved the Time Zone setting in iCal Advanced preferences for me.

  • Problem with times changing when synching to calendar

when I sync my Ipod to my calendar program (Microsoft Outlook), the times change on the Ipod. EG, if something is on my Outlook calendar for 5 pm, it will show on my Ipod for 8 pm.

In the Pages Preferences > Auto Correction deselect Automatic list detection.

  • My iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I put in

Ever since updating to 7.0.2, my Iphone calendar keeps changing the alert and second alert times I input for an event to different times. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

Are you syncing your phone with iTunes and then with iCloud? This can cause duplicates. Sync with one or the other, but not both.

  • Why does calendar keep changing dates and times on icloud

My calendar keeps randomly changing dates and times when using icloud and it is doing my head in.
Is there a simple way of rectifying this or do I have to get rid of icloud altogether (to save my sanity?)

If this is an iCloud calendar, you might want to check your time zone and time zone support settings.  Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you.  Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off.

  • Calendar keeps changing time

Not sure if its since the clocks went back in the UK bur ever time I add an appointment to my calendar within seconds the time changes by an hour e.g. I put in for 9.00 and now shows as 8.00 I have changed and saved by still reverts to 8.00

    Hi @suedh20 ,
On a PC, log in to https://account.live.com/SummaryPage.aspx with the same credentials as used on the phone, and edit the information to match where you are. Save and exit.
On the phone, Menu -> Settings - check again for correctly set date+time and region.
On the phone, Menu -> Settings -> email+accounts - long press the Microsoft account and select sync.
Double check future appointments for the correct time and try entering a new appointment, to verify it works correctly?

  • IPhone calendar time problem post daylight savings time change

Addendum to the similar post about a one hour differential between iCal and iPhone. THis is not just iCal. I have the same problem on WIndows XP/Outlook 2003. Everythign worked fine until the time change last weekend. Now this is what happens:
Any meeting set up in Outlook BEFORE Daylight Savings that has a start date BEFORE Daylight Savings appears properly on iPhone. FOr example, every Thursday beginning Nov 1 at 8am. THis shows up correct in iPhone at 8am for today, Nov 8.
But, any meeting set up AFTER Daylight Savings shows up one hour later on the iPhone when I sync. SO a meeting I set up in OUtlook for 10am today shows up at 11am on the iPhone.
And, any calendar event I set up on the iPhone AFTER Daylight Savings shows up one hour earlier in Outlook 2003.
THis is a huge problem for me! Both of my calendars are wrong now. PLease help!!! I have tried everything I can:
I tried setting up meetings with the OUtlook Daylight Savings setting enables and disabled: no change. No differnce whether I set up the meeting on my PC or it is an invitation from someone else. I lost all sync history. no change. I overwrote all calendar content (in iPhone advanced options) - no change.
And, as my fellow poster mentions - the tiime on the two systems match.

I think this problem is more complex. Background - UK clocks went back at the end of October; the USA went back one week later. I am in the UK and my Outlook calendar contains appointments created in the USA.
Someone in the USA created a recurring appointment before any clocks went back. In Outlook everything is correct. The meeting times are the same each week except for the one week between the two clock changes when, quite correctly, the meeting shows up one hour earlier. When I sync with my iPhone, the meeting shows at the same time every week regardless - this is incorrect.
Someone in the USA created a recurring appointment in the week after the UK clocks went back but before the USA clocks did. Outlook correctly shows the first occurrence as one hour earlier than all the following occurrences. Unfortunately - and this is the really nasty bit - the iPhone shows ALL the appointments one hour earlier than they should be. The only one that is correct is the first one.
This is a nasty bug and something that Apple needs to fix.

  • ICal and iCloud Calendar Appointments Problems Following Daylight Savings Time Change

This morning following the daylight savings time change, I noticed that some but not all of my appointments had shifted forward an hour. Strangely enough, some are correct on the iCloud calendar but are still not correct in iCal. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Here's another anomaly: the info panel is showing the correct time while the calendar view is not! I have turned off time zone support in both iCal and the iCloud calendar. It's so frustrating when you rely on these tools--especially for appointments--and you find that you can't trust them to be accurate!

    samdale67,
Have you had any luck fixing this problem yet?
I just noticed today that my iCloud calendar is consistently one hour behind my iPhone4s calendar. It's as if my iCloud calendar never got the Daylight Savings Time Spring Forward message. The iPhone, on the other hand, updated to DST right on schedule. It's annoying because I'm starting to use my iCloud calendar and would like the time change to be applied.

  • Calendar events an hour early after time change. Help!

    I have a Motorola phone.
When the time changed my phone said "Convert events to current time zone?"  And I pushed "yes."  Now EVERYTHING in my calendar is set an hour earlier!  For example, my son has a class at 10:00 this morning, but in my phone it's been changed to 9:00.  It's this way with every event.  How can I undo this?  I don't want to have to go into every event and change the time back!  The clock on my phone is correct.  I don't know why the calendar events got converted to an hour earlier.
    Kat

I already went in and changed everything manually.

Kathrine, a phone calendar can be so important to keep track of daily events, so I want to make sure we get this working for you. First, I'll need to know what phone you have so I check to see if there are settings to change the Calendar settings. You can also visit vzw.com/support and select Device for support articles on your device.

  • Time change problem in sync'ing w/Outlook Calendar

I have 2ndG iPod touch, 2.2.1 software and iTunes 8. Each time I sync the touch with my Outlook (2007) calendar, the touch changes the time zone from Eastern to California time for each event on my touch calendar. I've checked, rechecked and triple checked the time zone listed under Settings -> General (says New York) as well as under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars (time zone support also shows New York). For example: Outlook calendar states the event begins at 7:15pm, after sync'ing the Calendar on touch says the same event begins at 10:15pm. I've manually changed each even in the past but since I schedule 2 months in advance, it's a real hassle to keep fixing them.
Is there another time zone change that I need to make? Why is this happening?
    Thanks.

I've called Apple Support. The suggestion is to reboot my iPod; start iTunes; connect my iPod; check the settings in iTunes for calendar (did already but I'll try it again); turn off my iPod & disconnect from my computer; reconnect my iPod while it is "off" to my computer while iTunes is running; then sync again and see what happens. If it doesn't work I'm supposed to call them back. Since today is a 12hr work day, it might be tomorrow before I have time to try this and report back.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Daylight savings time changed calendar

all my appointment times changed; how do I change them back without going to each one separately?

See the long discussion of this problem (and the fact that it has not been solved) here:

Call Apple and complain. So far, they haven't bothered to fix it, which is particularly annoying for those of us who live in AZ but travel constantly.

  • Time change in iphone calendar

Is there a bug regarding daylight savings time?

    Dear Alan
I checked with friend here in Switzerland, we have differend providers. But everybody has the same problem. And after a few research in internet it's a huge discussion in Germany too on forums.
If I analyse this problem it looks the code of iOS program would like to go to summer time again (ansted to winter). The flag must be on wrong position. I maked a test: I changed to next year may 2014, time change forward 1h and red line was on right position. It must be a bug in iOS7. Mavericks (I know it's different source code) works well. Pls compare the two systems, I'm sure it will be a difference....
