Calendar to dos

What do I do for "to do's" now that Mavericks has eliminated iCal and my BusyCal won't work with it?

What do you mean "eliminated iCal"?
If you are referring to Apple's iCal, It's still there, it's been named "Calendar" since Mountain Lion.

How can I sync, then view, my calendar to dos from my laptop to my ipod touch.

    Hey Bottlerboi,
I saw you replied to this same subject somewhere else in the discussions... do you know if Apple understands the need for this? Have you heard anything from them regarding an update? Just a little whinge early in the morning.

  • How to flag Mail Messages in iOS5?

My Mail messages in iOS5 don't reflect the flagged status in mail. Trying to flag them on the iPhone's Mail clinet by selecing "edit" should (apparently) offer me a choice to delete, mark (as unread/read) or Flag. I just get a choice of Mark or Delete - No flagging option, no flags showing on any of my messages. I'm using 10.7.2 and iOS5 (natch) on an iPhone 4 - Anyone got this to work or am I missing some hideous, glaring ommission?
    Thanks
    M

Firstly, thanks to Anthony - Can't believe I missed that one. While the way to flag messages is resolved for me now on my iCloud/Me account, the fact that none of my flags are reflected on my Exchange account is not, and sadly that is the account which I use for about 95% of my mails; it was really the only thing I really needed from iOS5 - All the rest is handy, but not critical. Selecting "Mark" on an Exchange message simply offers the option to mark as read - There's no flag option. If I select a message sent to my .me address, I get the mark as read option, as-well as flag.
So, I'm wondering if this is a setting  server-side, or to do with the version of Exchange server being run, as there's nothing in the OS I can see in the way of options. I'm tempted to delete the account and re-create it, but waiting for it to download all those messages again (and potentially screw up syncing, which it has done in the past) is putting me right off the idea. I didn't have the calendars, to-dos or contacts set to sync with Exchange (never use them) so I tried turning them on, but no difference.
If anyone with a bit of Exchange knowledge has any input or ideas, I'd appreciate the help.
    Cheers

  • Entourage 2008 and iSync

Hey everyone, I was using the new Entourage 2008 and loved it, until I realized it was going to take A LOT of work to get it to sync with my Palm Centro. I ended up switching back to Entourage 2004 which is really starting to tick me off. Here's what I would like to be able to do, and you all may be able to tell me if this is indeed feasible or not.
    1. I would like to be able to sync my Centro (contacts, calendar, to-dos, notes, etc.) with Entourage, consequently I would like to be able to go both ways. So say I create an event in Entourage and then change the time of the event on the Centro, I would like that to be reflected on both the computer and Centro.
    2. I would like to be able to sync my contacts and calendar on MobileMe (I'm not sure how that system works, but for now I would just like to be able to view my calendar online).
    3. Eventually I'd like to sync the whole deal with like Google Calendars and stuff.
Entourage 2004 was SO easy to sync my Centro. I tried to sync with 2008 and it just made a bunch of duplicates and caused me a headache. After realizing that Microsoft wasn't going to be able to help me, I switched back to 2004. What a bummer, because the new 2008 is AWESOME!
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I've been looking online and on forums for weeks now and haven't really found a solid answer.

Wow, really? Why would Apple do that?
Because iSync's Palm support was severely out of date, didn't work very well, and, I guess it wouldn't be worth Apple's time and money to devote development resources to it further.
What exactly does the Missing Sync program do for me?
It'll basically sync everything between your Mac and Palm - contacts, calendars, notes, tasks, memos, install Palm OS applications and conduits, sync music, photos and videos. Far more than iSync ever did.
    Read more here: http://www.markspace.com/products/palm/palm-sync-software.html
Is there a better PDA to use with Mac OS X then?
iPhone is the best since Apple makes everything from the phone to the OS. It just works.
Are any of those going to work better than the Palm OS?
I don't know whether any of them will work better, but they all need third-party software from MarkSpace to sync with a Mac. None sync out-of-the-box.

  • Executing SAP BAPIs in Adobe Workflow Server

    Hello there,
I'm trying to use the following BAPIs to create an absence record for employee using a web enabled form with Adobe workflow:
    BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATESIMULATION
    BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATE
But it seems they are not stable? Or at least do not give the expected results.
The dates are correct and there is no conflict with the SAP calendar.
Dose any one know a better way to create the absence record? Is there any RFC to do that? Or should I use ALE/IDoc to post the transaction?
    Many Thanks

    Hi Harish,
Create an action in web dynpro which carries out the business processing. Assign this action to InteractiveForm UI element's onSubmit event.
This specifies that when you click the SubmitToSAP button in the form, the event onSubmit is triggered which actually executes the code provided in the Action.
    Steps:
when you go to interactive form's properties,
you can see in the Events' section two events....
    1).onCheck
    2).onSubmit
just create an action for onSubmit event and choose the action from onSubmit dropdown in the Properties of Interactive form.
just go to the implementation of the same view and you will find a method for it already created for you to write your code in.
In addition also make sure that you have installed the xACF component on the client machine.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where are the notes from Mail now?

What happened to my NOTES from Mail when I upgraded to Maverick OS X?  and is Maverick really an upgrade?

They're in a separate application called Notes. Similarly, calendar to-dos are in a separate application called Reminders. Both are able to sync with the equivalent Notes and Reminders on an iOS device.

  • How do you delete all your data permanatly from iCloud?

My friend just experienced syncing problems, some of his calendar to dos and other appointments simply would not show up, he brought his iPhone over and what do you know, i found out he had iCloud on and syned all his private data with iCloud, basically the world, and he is a public figure.
Now what i find more interesting is that he says he never set up iCloud or wanted to use becuase of fear its in a cloud, can be hacked, and that he disagrees how apple wants access to all his private files., this is true regardless of words used to assure users to go ahead and put anything online.
Now he wants to erase everything possible, he also is seeking an attorney to let him know what happened to investigate a possible hack here, since he never set up iCloud at all or knows how.
Does anyone know how to erase iCloud data at least from the user end?

If you are seeking to take legal action about anything, the last thing you do is post it on a public forum.

  • Really cannot get my head around Apple ID and iCloud

    Hi
I have been reading up on various posts and threads and it seems there is no one definitive answer.
I have an Apple ID (this uses one email address) from the beginning of time when iTunes first  came out.  Subsequently, I then had a .mac account (this uses a different email address) which has grown and become iCloud.
On my new iPhone 6, I cannot get my head around which affects what and which calendars, to dos are here or there.  It is a right mess.
Can someone kindly tell me how can I simply my dumb existence?  Perhaps I am getting too old for tech.
I think at one point I wanted the Apple ID for personal use and the iCloud account for business use.

I spent FOUR hours on the phone with Apple yesterday and still no wiser.
Few of my apps work.  I backed up my iPhone 4S on iOS 6.0 and restored it onto new iPhone 6 on iOS 8.
The weather app shows all the 10 locations I have saved in there as 32 deg  Celsius yesterday but deleting and re-adding corrects that issue I think it was Steve Jobs that coined the phrase "It just works!" - God bless him!  He would turn in his grave I am sure at the state of affairs so few years on.
The motto should be refreshed to "It just doesn't work".
I am so frustrated with this that I reckon I am going to be returning the phone over the weekend if I cannot get any useful advice on this issue.
I have no idea whether all 10,000+ photos I have are properly synced.  Apple advised me to use the iCloud Photo Beta but then said they cannot guarantee it.  Obviously as it is in Beta stage.  Why would anyone take that risk?

  • To Dos In Calendar View

Is there a way to make to dos show up in the calendar view instead of just a list to the right of the calendar? Or should I just make everything an event? I'm mean, what's the difference, how is one supposed to know when to make a item an event or to do? Thanks

I want to see the same thing. When I publish a calendar it asks if I want to publish ToDo's.
I check that option. Then, when I look at my calendar online, I can't find my ToDo's anywhere. I've looked everywhere that is possible on the page and they simply are not there.
    Am I missing something?

  • No To Dos on published calendar in browser

    Hi everybody,
I want to my publish my to do list with so my supervisor can see what I have planned for the week. She doesn't have a Mac so a wanted to send her the weblink for the published calendar. Problem is: the to dos do not show up when looking at the calendar with a browser (I tried Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4 on Mac, as well as IE on PC). I made sure that I've clicked the little check box to "show to do list" in my calendar pre-publish window.
So do to dos never show up in the browser version, or am I just overlooking the link? Or is something wrong with my iCal?
    Thanks for your help,
    Stephan

I believe the iphone has a notes feature. Don't forget the touch is an ipod, not a PDA. Hopefully after the SDK is released in Feb we will see more apps like a ToDos, email, ect.
You can always let Apple know what you'd like to see.

  • To-dos in calendar

Is it possible to synch to dos with the desktop calendar? Or to create to dos in the iPod touch calendar app?

Please elaborate! I've just come to the IPT from the Palm/SONY Clie world and the lack of to-dos is frustrating. I realize there are add-ons, but the ones I've seen are either too limited, don't synch, or only synch to the cloud.
I've been wondering about using the calendar in some fashion as a to-do system. I do wish that there were a way of snoozing alerts-- as the Palm does.

  • HELP!!!  All my events, to dos, calendars are gone!

don't know what happened. Just opened up ical and the default ical opened up home and work calendars only....no events, no to do's, NOTHING. My life has vanished in front of me!
    Any advise...I'm desparate
    SB

I have also just experienced this problem two days ago. My wife and I publish perhaps 40 calandars between us with several thousand work and social events entered and they just all disappeared suddenly leaving me with "have a nice default work/home".
The two things that I think may have caused it are the time I hit the power off button to try to resolve vmWare's Windows XP emulator hanging (iCal was open at the time) (http://www.apple.com/business/mac_pc/applications.html), and my use of "iPhoto Buddy" (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/imaging_3d/iphotobuddy.html) which seems to swap whole iLife profiles in and out.
I've seen solutions to this problem that involve trashing various iCal /Library/ entries. These solutions presume I'm backed up to iMac and everything auto-reloads out of "synch services". I am backed up to box.net for free instead (http://systemsboy.blogspot.com/2006/06/publish-ical-calendars-on-internet-for.ht ml), so I didn't really loose anything. It's just a giant 2-hour pain to by-hand download it and hook it all back up again.
All of my iCal content seems to still be stored in the library, but the links to it have all been thrashed. I could fix it in five minutes if the plists were stored in plain English xml, but iCal has hashed them all with some seemingly random codes. Thanks heaps, Mr. Apple developer. What's the point of using XML if you're going to hash it back out of unicode/ascii like that?
What we need here is a simple terminal command to rebuild the link tables. Does anybody know if such a thing exists? I've got /Developer installed and I am not afraid to use it.

  • Recurring To Dos and multiplying events from subscribed calendars

The density and volume of discussion about iCal's recurring ToDos and Events is too overwhelming to survey in its entirety so I will try this new post focussed on my problems.
My iCal has been starting up (beach ball icon turning) for more than a day, a process that began when I opened the ToDos column (push pin icon at bottom of window). Rightly or wrongly I entered a large number of birthdays and other anniversary dates as ToDos instead of Untimed Events. The bulk of my ToDos are such annually recurring events although there are plenty of others with shorter intervals (like those involving taking the trash out or renewing library books).
I suspect that it is these recurring ToDos running many years into the future that is preventing iCal from completing its start up and clogging up the application's data capacity. I can force quit the application, but the whole process only "recurs" when I launch the application again. I would happily sacrifice my entire ToDo file (Calendar) and re-enter the information under recurring untimed events, but I cannot figure out how. Moreover, Michael Lafferty wisely cautioned in regard to an iSync post about removing any files in OS 10 from the location where Apple placed them.
So how can I escape this bewildering and frustrating situation and get back to my more serious problem with using iSync to synch my Zire 71 with iCal on my G4?
    Thanks

In another post, information was provided for removing duplicates, one an Applescript its creator supplied for finding and deleting iCal duplicates (called Delete iCal Duplicates) and another a shareware application UnDupe available from the Palm Store or Stevens Creek Software that will find and remove duplicates on a Palm device such as my Zire 71. I used both, finding few duplicates in iCal with the Delete iCal Duplicates Applescript, but a staggering number of duplicate ToDos on my Zire with UnDupe which I removed.
However, I still am unable to complete a sync with HotSync Manager and iSync because the Conduit Manger fails in mid-sync repeatedly. I am getting in the HotSync log the following message, but iSync continues the syncing process as though nothing has happened. Here is the message:
    Sync type is Fast

    iSync Conduit synchronization failed
“iSync Conduit” failed (error = #-1)
Do I need to re-install Palm Desktop v4.2.1 to replace a defective Conduit Manager component or what other solution to this repeated failue in mid-sync. Also note as I said that iSync does not stop and report the sync failure but just continues running and cannot be "Cancelled" either. Only a force quite and a complete re-start will stop iSync from continuing the synching process long after HotSync Manager has reported and logged the iSync conduit sync failure. Correction: some 40 minutes after HotSync Manager declared an interruption and failure, iSync has finally stopped with a sync failure alert
Thanks for help although at this point after 2-3 days no one has responded to my orginal question. Should I have cross-posted to the iSync Forum?

  • What is my best option for synchronizing tasks (to-dos)/calendars on my iPhone with an Apple Mac?

I currently have an iPhone 3GS (will upgrade to 5 when available) and Windows XP PC (soon to be retired!) and happily sync my to-do's/calendar between Appigo To-do/iphone Calendar on my iPhone and MS Outlook 2007 on my PC.
Looking ahead I want to buy a Mac of some kind but before I do so, I'd like to try and find answers to the following questions.
1.) What are my options for synchronizing tasks / calendar on my iPhone with an Apple Mac?
2.) Which is recommended as the best?
3.) Which options should I avoid?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mark

    You have 2 options:
    1)  Ensure in all cases "store email on the server" is set.  I suspect on one device it's not set.
    2) (preferred IMO) On all devices, set option to bcc: yourself to true.  This way you always get all the emails and can file them via IMAP, and they'll be everywhere (with mail headers which preserves sent date.  "sent messages" often DOES NOT preserve the sent date)

  • ICal events To Dos calendars disappeared.

I dont know how to use time machine to get back to where i am. Time machine only shows finder to go back and the files finder shows are only those that can be used for importing one event at a time. I need all events back but cant find a way. Please help me. Any help is appreciated

I just examined the current "Calendars" folder in my /users/xxx/library folder. it has multiple xyz(i).calendar folders in it, each with a info.plist file. Each of the plist file corresponds to one Calendar, either you've created or you've subscribed to. Also in the xyz(i).calendar folder, there are Events folders. These seem to contain the events that we create. Now, i still dont understand why the iCal doesn't know what to do with all the Calendars sitting in the "Calendars" folder. Are they corrupted? Can i retrieve them?
