Calendar travel time location

When I create a calendar item in Mavericks it is calculating my travel time from work however I will be traveling from home. How do I update the location for the travel time calculation?

  • How to get calendar travel time (set up in Mavericks) to show on iOS 7 calendar?

I was wondering how to get calendar travel time (set up in Mavericks) to show on iOS 7 calendar? If I change a location in mavericaks it is updated in my iOS 7 calendar, but if I add travel time to an appointment, that does not show up on my iphone. This seems like a big miss for apple if this is the case. I could maybe understand not adding the ability to add travel time in iOS 7, but not being able to see the travel times you set up seems very incomplete. Any ideas or insight?

    Hello Cheer,
I don't believe the table changed when migrating from Access.  I had two tables before the migration, one was for the SwitchBoard Manager and the other table was for the database table.  I used the Switchboard to navigate to different menus, such
as the Main Form, Power Form, Server Form, etc.  Let me know if I can provide any other information to help you narrow this down for me.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Calendar travel time in both directions

So the feature allowing the addition of travel time to an event is great. But in order to be able to use calendar for all my scheduling needs, I really need to be able to do the converse, that is add in the travel time from an event (either back to the origin or to the next appointment).
Is there any way to add this? I'd settle for a simple reflection of the 'To' time to start with.
The auto calculation feature isn't going to help because I need to retroactively update a year's worth of calendar entries. It is based on your current location, among other difficulties.

This solved my questionRe: Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home Oct 23, 2013 8:43 PM (in response to theglenlivet12)
    From Calendar's help:
To set your starting location, Calendar first looks for your location in any events that are up to three hours before this event. If Calendar doesn’t find a location, it uses your work address during work hours and your home address during other hours. (Your work hours are set in Calendar preferences using the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” menus.) If your card in Contacts doesn’t have your addresses, Calendar uses your computer’s current location.

  • Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home

I am having a problem with travel time in Calendar. It will autopopulate with where it thinks I should be. I don't work during the daytime, and when I schedule in an entry for work, it wants to have me leaving from work. Is there any way to change it manually to start from home instead?

  • Calendar travel time and places

    1. I keep my working schedule in Calendar. How can I tell Calendar that I return back home after work? With travel time activated it always calculates travel time from my office instead from my home. My office is north of my home, most private events happen south of my home, so the time difference can be as much as 30min. Work finishes at 5pm, I'm home at 5:20 and I have an event at 7pm 20min away from home. Calendar now tells me I have 40min to drive instead of just 20, because it thinks I'm still at work even though the event "Work" has ended at 5pm...
    2. Calendar does not find places even though I use the exact same phrase as it's shown in Maps. One example is the Belgian race track "Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps". I know there are work-arounds for this problem as I could just use the next town. But there are places where simply no town is around. Take the English racetrack of "Cadwell Park" for example. Typing "Cadwell Park" suggests a place in Georgia instead of the English racetrack that shows up as a POI in Maps.
I have the same problem with a local restaurant. Again, I know where the place is, but for user comfort I'd like to have Calendar regocnize POI's shown in Maps.

  • Calendar - Travel time

In Maverick 10.9.2, Calendar has a new field for the appointments (Travel time = 1 hour or more).
In iOS 7.1, Apple has forgotten (!!!) this very usefull function.
The consequence, is that all appointments in the Maverick calendar are only visible without "Travel-time" in the calendar of IOS.
    Apple, can you fix??

  • Mavericks calendar travel time

There is a bug when I play with the travel time in Calendar. I select a travel time of 30 minutes for one event. Then I change it to "none" or 1 hour. I click apply. A few seconds later the travel time goes back to 30 minutes. No matter how many times I change the travel time, it always goes back to 30 minutes. It is extremely frustrating to see this happen. I would appreciate it if this gets received somehow to be fixed in a later update.

  • Calendar travel time affected by others

    Hi
Just updated laptop (MacBook Air) and MacMini (acting as server) to Yosemite.  All good, except noticed that when I want to enter travel time into the calendar (hosted on my server) which is usually taken automatically from my previous appointment or home address, it uses the address of a colleague (also using the server).
This colleague's calendar is not selected - but when looking at the travel time it would appear that her appointments are having an affect!
I did look for a 'button' to advise Apple - but couldn't see it.
Anyone else found this calendar problem??

  • How to turn on Calendar Travel Time?

So I'm fully updated now on the software (Mavericks, current 2013 iMac) but travel times don't appear in my calendar. Is there a setting I need to turn on? I've looked through the settings within the calendar app and don't see anything. What am I missing?

I noticed that the travel times are active when you insert exactly the destination address and the system/maps recognize it (and you understand this because you can see below the mini map). So in this way, I was able to insert the travel time.
But probabily there is an additional bug, because calendars want to check the travel time only starting from my work address and not from home address...

  • Calendar travel time from home

When entering an event in the calendar and adding an address. I want to show the travel time driving from home but the only options is to show the travel time wlaking or driving from work. How do I get the travel time from home?

So it looks like you need a Home event up to 3 hours before or no address in Contacts?

  • Calendar travel time alerts syncing wrong...

Calendar Alerts that I set up on my Macbook Pro are not sinking properly with the Calendar App on my iOS devices. For instance: If my travel time is 54 minutes and I set-up an alert for 1 hour before my travel time on my MacBook Pro, then my iOS calendar alert syncs the alert for 1 hour and 54 minutes before my travel time.

    hi Jake,
i am having exactly the same problem with my new iphone 4 updated to 4.0.2, I set the reminder to go off at a certain time and it goes off a couple of hours later, or as you say, it goes off when you open the calendar. Mine tells me GMT +1 for some reason. BOth computer and iphone set to the correct time.
    Anyone help us on this?
    cheers

  • Travel time in calendar events

I've created a Calendar event and entered a location.  I see the map of the location in the event window.   When I go to select a travel time, it says "34 minutes from Work."    So, it's pulling my work address from Contacts.  Nice, but I'm not traveling to this event from work, I'm leaving from home.
I've been poking around for about an hour, and I can't see how to change this to use my home address as a starting point.  I've checked Contacts and confirmed that my home address is indeed identified as "Home."  It's the first address listed on my Contacts record.   I've looked at preferences for Maps, Calendar, and general system preferences, and don't see a way to set a default location, and there's nothing I can find in the editing of the event that lets me choose Home instead of Work.
Anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

  • Set Start Position to Calculate Travel Time in Calendars

    Hi All,
I am quite impressed with the new traveling time feature in Calendars, however I cannot seem to get the best out of it.
    Is there a way to reset the start position for the calculations, I am thinking about the following senario;
Three appointments in the same day Appointment one calculates OK but appointment two calculates the start from the office and not the location of appointment one. Same thing happens with appointment three.
What I want to do is set the first appointment, calculate travelling time, set the second and calculate the traveling time from appointment one and then the same with appointment three.
The only way I have found to do this is to jump back and forward between calendar and maps and manually calculate like I used to do before this update.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Travel Time in Calendar not working

Not sure if this is a common theme amongst others but when I place an address into an event in calendar and then go to add travel time, the menu using my location times out and disapears.
