Calendar upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6

I cannot seem to find or get running the Wiki calendar that was shared by all users previously. It keeps saying it's not started, but as far as I can see, it is. The other Wiki items are running OK, just not calendar. Where are the previous items, and what do I need to do to restart the calendar? Also, even though I did an upgrade, I had to re-enter all the users.

Kia ora lemecdutex,
were the other wikis from the upgrade or new. The fact you had to re-enter all the users suggests your upgrade didn't work. Can you re upgrade from you previous setup. I found that I tried to u/grade my 10.5.8 server to 10.6 and it sort of worked, users were there but not calendars.
I checked a copy of the 10.5.8 server and it had permission errors. I corrected that and then it all worked.

  • Can I sync my iCloud calendar with Outlook 365?  I upgraded from Office 2010 and now it doesn't sync.

I upgraded from Outlook 2010, and now it doesn't update in Outlook 365.  Thinking I can't do it, and it's a pity, cause I want it all to integrate on phone and on desktop.  I'm running Windows 7 and Office 365.  The iCloud app works fine with Internet Explorer, but I can't get the calendar to update.  Any suggestions?

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • I have upgraded from 7 to 11 photoshop and am trying to organize photo in calendar format. How?

I have upgraded from photoshop 7 to 11 and am trying to format the photos in calendar format as I did in the 7 version and can not figure out how. ?

A lot of things changed with Elements 11, including the available display views. There is no longer a calendar view like in Elements 10 and before. The closest available is to go to the Events page (click Events in the top bar), and then switch from Events to Smart Events (just below the top bar). This will group all of your images into the day on which they were shot. However, it doesn't separated them on a calendar and leave you the blank spaces where no images were taken.

  • I lost my calendar data when upgrading from OS 8 to new OS 10

The OS upgrade worked fine.  Upon opening iCal in new Mountain Lion, I don't find any of my calendar entries from before the OS upgrade.

I have the same problem migrating from a G4 iMac running 10.4 to an intel iMac running 10.6. Cannot even import calendar files exported from the old machine. Help!

  • 4.2.2 upgrade from 4.1 and images location issue

I've just upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.2, and am having an issue with the referenced location of the images directory (/i/) resources. I am running apex listener on weblogic server, and have copied the new images into the i.war that I use. I have an unusual reverse proxy situation where my base URL includes a path, i.e., https://www.my.website.com/mysite/ is the URL that the proxy returns to the user, so my APEX addresses look like https://www.my.website.com/mysite/apex/f?101:1:::::, and my image directory references get put together like https://www.my.website.com/mysite/i/image.jpg.
However, with the upgrade, one of the things that popped up was all of the datepickers in my application were changed to classic datepickers, which worked and displayed fine. When I change them to the new datepicker, the small calendar image doesn't show next to the field (red x), and when I look at the properties of the image, it's URL is https://www.mywebsite.com/i/asfdcldr.gif (no "/mysite/" path offset). ALL of the other images directory references seem fine, but not this. Has 4.2.2 changed how it composed the #HOST# when it's generating these new controls (same result when I make a datepicker from scratch)? Why do all of my other images directory references work? The only other problem that I'm seeing is that my charts no longer work, either. I used to have to hardcode my URL into the XML of the charts for them to work, but I don't see the URL referenced in the code anymore. Not sure if that's related, but that has always been an issue with my reverse proxy situation (I don't control the proxy server).
Thanks in advance for any light anyone can shed on this,
    -warren

    Hi Warren,
+> The only other problem that I'm seeing is that my charts no longer work, either. Not sure if that's related, but that has always been an issue with my reverse proxy situation (I don't control the proxy server).+
With APEX 4.2, we've changed how charts are initialized to be JavaScript only, and as part of the changes, we no longer expose the region source for charts. See *4.8 Updated AnyChart Flash Charts* in the APEX 4.2 Release Notes, here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35121/toc.htm#CACEJBCD. So it's no longer feasible to hardcode a reference to your URL in the region source for a chart. If you have a reverse proxy, the CGI environment variables REQUEST_PROTOCOL, HTTP_HOST, SERVER_PORT, and SCRIPT_NAME, have to be correctly set to the public facing web server and not to the internal forwarding connection. If you execute the following query in SQL Workshop on your APEX instance, do you see the settings for the public facing web server?
    select owa_util.get_cgi_env('REQUEST_PROTOCOL'), owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_HOST'), owa_util.get_cgi_env('SERVER_PORT'), owa_util.get_cgi_env('SCRIPT_NAME') from dual;Regards,

  • Upgrading from iPhone Orig, to iPhone 3g

When upgrading from the Original iPhone to the 3g phone. Will AT&T be able to transfer all of the apps and numbers and music from my current phone to 3g phone or will I have to do all of that on my own? and If so, how will I transfer apps?

You will do this on your own in the same way this data was transferred to your original iPhone - via the iTunes sync process.
There is no device limit in regards to the number of iPods and/or iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer.
All 3rd party apps installed on your original iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and the same for all other iTunes content that is currently available on your original iPhone - music, video, and podcasts if any.
Although contacts are included with your iPhone's backup, contacts are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer. With Vista, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 along with syncing calendar events and Notes, or with the address book used by Windows Mail called Windows Contacts.
Before connecting the 3G to iTunes on your computer for the first time, sync your original iPhone with iTunes to update the backup for your original iPhone (which is updated as the first step during the sync process) along with updating any data that is kept synchronized with a supported application on your computer such as contacts. When connecting the 3G to iTunes the first time, you should be prompted to transfer the backup for your original iPhone to your 3G. This must be followed by a sync with iTunes to transfer your selections under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences to your 3G, which will be selected automatically under the various tabs for your 3G sync preferences with iTunes based on the backup transferred from your original iPhone.
This link provides the data included with your iPhone's backup.

  • New Time Zone Issue with MobileMe Calendar Upgrade

I'm having strange things happen with sending/receiving "invitations" to people in other time zones.
Prior to this MobileMe calendar upgrade, sending/receiving invitations worked fine. I would schedule an event (obviously in my time zone), and if I invite a friend in a different time zone, the event would show up on her Google Calendar at the proper time. Between iCal and Google Calendar, the time zone translation was working properly. Likewise, when she scheduled an event and sent me an invitation, the event showed up in iCal at the proper time for me.
But now, after simply upgrading MobileMe calendar, events from me to her show up at the wrong time! It's as if the time zone translation is no longer occurring. Oddly, events that she sends to me still work correctly.
I have "Turn on time zone support" enabled in iCal, MobileMe calendar, and on the iPhone.
So this very nice feature that was working previously seems to have broken with the MobileMe calendar upgrade.
Has anyone else seen this, or (hopefully) solved it?
    Thanks!
    Jim

  • MobileMe "New Calendar" upgrade by Microsoft...??

Am I missing something? Was the new mobileMe calendar upgrade designed by Microsoft instead of by Apple? Things are supposed to get better with Apple, not worse as with Microsoft.
iCal before the new calendar upgrade - Organizer sends me new iCal event. Message appears in my iCal notifications. I click on "Accept". Done, perfect, Apple-way.
iCal after new calendar upgrade - Organizer sends me new iCal event. Message does not appear in iCal notifications. I receive a new email with invite. The email has all broken images (ugly). I click on "Load Images". Images load. Now I see a "Accept" button. Clicking on it actually opens Safari. I wait for Safari to open and for page to load. Now I see a link where I can download an .ics file with the calendar event. I download file. I then have to find the correct .ics file among all the other files I downloaded. I double-click on .ics file to store event in calendar. I have to switch back to finder to delete stray downloaded .ics file.
???? Am I missing something? Is this dumb and absurd? Only Microsoft could have come up with such a loss of functionality, loss of practicality, loss of smoothness of streamlining, loss of simple GUI, loss of... my mind.
My most useful link of the week:
    http://www.me.com/calendar/downgrade
PS - I confirmed with a tech support chat that this unbelievable behavior is actually by design - ExpressLane Case 195850002

Agree 100%...the new MobileMe Calendar "upgrade" is a huge step backward in most respects.
Just spent the last hour trying to help my wife figure out how to undo the damage. In my opinion, the most obnoxious behavior of the new "upgrade" is that it completely commandeers all of your calendars, so instead of being able to send business meeting invites from my business email account and personal invites from my me.com account, all new meetings are now sent from the me.com account.
Even that behavior could be acceptable if there was an easy way to change the name of my me.com address to something more "business appropriate", but of course that is another me.com failure...

  • I have lost nearly all my photos and events.  I received a message effectively saying that I need to upgrade from an old base.  I think I may have tried to open an event that was stored in iPhoto Buddy a few days ago.

I have lost nearly all my photos and events.  I received a message effectively saying that I need to upgrade from an old base.  I think I may have tried to open an event that was stored in iPhoto Buddy a few days ago.  iPhoto Buddy is not supported in Lion.  How can I retrieve my phjotos?

    What version of iPhoto?
    Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Upgrading from a Blackberry to iPhone4

I see all the questions re upgrading from an older iPhone. Can anyone fill me in on what will be involved in upgrading from a Blackberry (I'm so excited & can't wait to upgrade)? Any additional steps? If the phone is sent to my home, can I get it going through iTunes? Thanks.

There is no upgrade option from a Blackberry or from any other phone besides an iPhone.
If you pre-order online with Apple, you can have the iPhone shipped to your home or office, or have it delivered to an Apple store if there is one nearby. If delivered to your home or office, someone must be available to accept and sign for the delivery.
Everything is done with iTunes - transferring your iTunes music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and 3rd party apps. If you use iPhoto on your Mac for photo storage and management, you can transfer select iPhone albums, events, and faces to your iPhone, and iPhoto can be used to import photos and videos captured by your iPhone. Since you have a Mac, in regards to contacts and calendar events the iPhone can be synced with the Address Book and iCal via the iTunes sync process with iTunes serving as the sync conduit for this data.

  • Access Manager Upgrade from 2005Q1 to 2005Q4 Failed Miserably

I really could use some help. I tried to upgrade our calendar server from 2005Q1 to 2005Q4 last week. Everything was going fine (calendar and webserver upgraded ok) until I upgraded the Access Manager piece. Now, Access Manager isn't running correctly. When I start the webserver container, it starts, but some parts of Access Manager (amserver) fails. I cannot get into the AMConsole web interface. Users cannot authenticate to their calendars through AM (we've got them working through an older method for now).
We've uninstalled/reinstalled AM several times. Run the amconfig tool to undeploy and redeploy. Rerun the amupgrade tool to redeploy the directory server objects...
We've opened a ticket with Sun but so far it hasn't been much help.
I'd just like to at least get AM to start so I can at least get into AMConsole...can anyone help?

Sorry, I have no idea otherwise.
In our case, where we had the same exceptions, we could resolve the issue with reindexing the directory.
Most probably this has to do with the services
    ldapsearch -b ou=services,o=root -D "cn=puser,ou=DSAME Users,o=root" -w password "(objectClass=sunService)" dn | wc -l
In my case I get 164 lines.
puser should be able to find all services. If not, you have probably have an ACI or index issue. If you get no services and get with the same search and Directory Manager as user 220 (in my case) entries, it is ACI.
If DM does not get any entries either, there is probably something wrong with indexes.
Ok, now lets assume you get the services. Another possible issue might be that your server is not in the "iplanet-am-platform-server-list"
Look into iPlanetAMPlatformService and check if the server you entered in AMConfig.properties(protocoll + "://" + host + ":" + port) is in the list.

after upgrading from 10.1.2 to 10.1.4, I no longer can create any portlets from "Additional Portlet Builders" such as Calendar, Chart, Hierarchy, etc. When I try to define the portlete, I get WWC-50003 error msg.
I have opened SR with Oracle and they still haven't solved my problem.
Hope someone can help with this issue.

Are you using HTML Page Skins? We were having the same problem in Page Groups that were using HTML Page Skins. We solved the issue by adding #PAGE.STYLE# and #PAGE.BASE# to the <HEAD> area of the HTML Page Skin.

  • Upgrade from Mobileme to iCloud - do I need to change from Mac OS X 10.6.8?

Do I need to change from mac os x 10.6.8 to upgrade from Mobileme to iCloud?
    Please advise
Is OS X Lion different? latest version?

    rugbytom wrote:
Does that mean though that I have to change to the Lion, despite its shortcomings, in order for iCloud to work and not lose the current beneifts of synchronisation I have with Mobileme
    Basically, yes.
You can migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud at http://me.com/move even with Snow Leopard - when asked to confirm that you have Lion on your Mac, just lie and say 'yes'.
If you have MobileMe mail set up to collect mail from external POP accounts you should cancel this before migrating, or you may find it still working in iCloud (where it isn't supposed to) and with no way of stopping it. You may find the MobileMe email settings will continue to work for a time after migrating but it will stop eventually so you should not rely on this. You should delete your MobileMe email account from Mail.
You can then set up Mail manually in Snow Leopard to access iCloud email; it's a slight fudge because the 'wizard' will attempt to connect you to MobileMe as soon as you enter an @me.com address. The process, which includes a workaround for this, is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, but you cannot sync Contacts or Bookmarks and iCloud's other facilities will not work. This page outlines the situation when you migrate to iCloud, including a link to the calendar hack:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
To get the full functions of iCloud you need Lion 10.7.2
