Calendar: "Weather data from Yahoo..."

when i choose "About Calendar..." i see this:
...which leads me to believe there's some kind of built-in weather functionality in Calendar.app, but i can't find any other indication within the app that this is true. does anybody know what this is about? to what weather data does the About... box refer?

I have the same problem - between the issue I had with restoring after the upgrade (Error -48), the duplicate entries I now get between my Outlook appointments and iCloud, and the inability to have Events added from the iPhone sync to Outlook, I'm surprised there hasn't been more outcry about 5.0x! System 10.7 is not available for this iMac.
Since MobileMe has died, and my other iMac is running 10.7 Lion, iCloud is now the fact in Apple internet data sharing.
I'd like to keep my Address Book (now Contacts in 10.7) and Calendar in sync with my pre-10.7 iMac. How is this done?

In ODI I tried the Physical Architecture XML and defined a new Data Store and selected JDBC driver com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.SnpsXmlDriver and in the JDBC URL
jdbc:snps:xml?f=http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/OLBA/2011/5/1/MonthlyHistory.html?
I tried testing the connections I get a "Connection Failed" however, if i put the url in a browser it displays the content.
I am going about correctly or is there a correct way to it?

Printing calendar of dates from Appleworks database

Is there a calendar program that will print a monthly calendar and pull birthdays and anniversaries from an appleworks database file (or from a bento file)? This is much like mailmerge does, except I want the calendar date to pull all records with that date as a birthday or anniversary.

Actually, it's quite different from a mail merge, and quite a bit more complicated.
A mail merge inserts data from a specific field into a specific location a word processor document, and produces a separate document for each visible record in the database.
Using the AppleWorks database, you could get separate lists of anniversaries and birthdays for a single month, then use cut and paste to transfer those into a (spreadsheet) calendar either one at a time or collectively as a list below the calendar grid.
I see a few issues that may arise with long names and multiple b'days/annivs on the same date.

Use Java to collect data from HTML

I am doing a online stock trading project, the main part is to collect raw data from http://finance.yahoo.com User can retrieve the stock detail by inputting the right stock symbol, such as "AOL". I dont have too much problem in this part because yahoo provde a spreedsheet format to display the result. If you type the URL below, it can bring you a set of stock data separating by comma. So, I can use StringTokenizer(date, ",") to collect each data from yahoo into my system.

spreedsheet format?I really don't know any other stock quote sites. But if you want to implement a search function for stock names, I would do it like this
1) Code the HTTP SUBMIT/POST to lookup the possible stock names
2) Use XSL to filter out the HTML path to the table with results, the layout is consistent, so there are no strange exceptions. You can check the DOM structure by using Mozilla's DOM inspector. Just write down the path to the TABLE element and select it, and transform it to CSV for example.
3) Reparse the CSV to fill some boxes
To possibly save some server load use a small fixed size in memory cache to store N requests based on some strategy.
The other part is actual a separate part of what you want to code and should be a separate class in which you can feed the stock name.
If the user types in a bad stock name, you can retrieve a list of possible names using the input as the company name.

Calendar Using Date Navigator in Webdynpro ABAP

My Requirement is in the calendar the dates from today to some specific date(Ex:-30 days from today).
Should be enable in all other dates grade out. how can we achieve using date navigator.
For example: Indian railway booking site, allows booking from today to 60 days, remaining dates are grade out, Can't be selected.
similar validation need to be achieved through date navigator.

Hi Narasimha,
The requirement exactly like RAILWAYS ticket booking cannot be achieved by using DATE navigator as we don't have any provision to disable/to graded out the dates of our wish.
You can achieve your requirement ( up to some extent) as below
Create a date navigator ui element and bind the start date and end date to context attributes
Create a node DATE_SEL ( 0...n ) and attribute "DATE" of type DATS
Now, right click on DATE NAVIGATOR ui element and choose "Add selection" option from menu to add the dates of selection. Bind the datasource and selected date to node "DATE_SEL" and attribute "DATE" respectively
The selection node "DATE_SEL", you can populate the 60days/30days as per your requirement and it hightlights ( you can choose your choice of color ) the dates in the calender. So that user focuses on these dates for selection. if any other dates other than these selection, you can raise an error message to the user by using event "ONDAYSELECT"

Import from Yahoo!/sbcglobal calendar into iCal - is it possible?

I run a PC at the office as well as a PC laptop of my own. However - my G4 is my main hub computer at home and from whence all roads lead to and from.
I am on sbcglobal (Yahoo!) for e-mail and one of the niftier things I can do is "sync" (via Intellisync software available for free from Yahoo!) my ENTIRE contacts and calendar from my office PC Outlook and export it into Yahoo!. I have determined that I can export a vCard file out of the Yahoo! contacts database and then import that into my Address Book (OK - some minor tweaks/editing needed on my part after the import) but EVERYTHING is there - very cool indeed.
Is there any way to do something similar with iCal? (presently I cannot seemingly export the Yahoo! calendar data either an iCal or vCal file). Will exporting it to a .csv (did I get that right) be of any help or just really screw things up?

Is it possible to get date from Calendar Prompt when operator is "greater then or equal to". In this setting I can not set presentation variable for prompt, why? There is other way to get selected date?

EskThe reason the Set Variable piece disappears is because a presentation variable cannot contain multiple values. If you want to perform a calculation on a date to filter your report, do this:
1) Keep the Operator as "is equal to/is in."
2) Now set your PV to what you want.
3) In your report, build a CASE statement or use the TIMESTAMPADD function to make whatever calculation you want.
Example: Let's suppose you wanted to filter your report for all Sales Dates "greater than or equal to" the prompt selection. You would set the date prompt to "equal" a date a user selects and then save it to your Presentation Variable, say pv_SalesDate.
Now in your report on your Sales Date column, put a filter like this:
tablename."Sales Date" >= '@{pv_SalesDate}'
This will achieve what you are looking for.

UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!

Restoring Data from old phone to S III and getting Yahoo E-Mail to work on the Galaxy S III

I wanted to share some information on how to do a few things on the Galaxy SIII. After spending approximately 6 hours on the phone and On-Line Chat with Verizon Wireless Tech Support they told me the following things could not be done. Well FOR THE RECORD they CAN BE DONE!!!!!
Here is how to Back-up and Restore your Text, Picture and Video messages from your old phone to your new phone:
BEFORE you DEACTIVATE the OLD PHONE:
Make sure you have an External SD card in your old phone that will work in your new phone
Go to the Play Store and install Verizon Messages
Open the Verizon Messages program and click on Back-UP – ALL Text, Picture and Video messages will be backed-up. IF YOU GET A “SAVE CANCELLED” MESSAGE:
                     You may have to Back-up LARGE messages (with picture & Video content) individually.
                    You may also have to backup conversation threads 1 at a time if there are a large number of texts in that thread:
     *****Hopefully Verizon will fix AND INCREASE the LOW AMOUNT OF DATA ALLOWED AT 1 TIME ON THIS APP SOON*****
Once you have everything Backed Up on the External SD Card Remove the SD Card from the old phone and install it in the new phone
NOW ACTIVATE YOUR NEW GALAXY S III:
When you are in the Set-Up Wizard:
           If you are using Yahoo E-Mail and want it to be accessible by clicking on the E-Mail Icon
               DO NOT click on the Yahoo Mail Icon during the E-Mail Account Set-up portion of the Set-Up Wizard!!!
         Instead click on the Other E-Mail Icon and enter your Yahoo E-Mail accounts there – this will assure that the Yahoo E-Mail accounts will
               sync and update as they should AND be accessible by just clicking on the E-Mail Icon on your screen.
To Restore your data from the Old Phone to the New Phone After the Set-Up Wizard is completed:
Make sure you have the External SD card from your old phone installed in your new phone
Go to the Play Store and install Verizon Messages
Open the Verizon Messages program and click on Restore – IF YOU SEE 2 SD CARDS LISTED (ON MINE IT LISTED ExtSDCard and SDCARD0) you will have to copy EVERYTHING from the ExtSDCard to the SDCard0. Next Click on Restore again and ALL Text,
Picture and Video messages will be restored to your New Phone.
I HOPE THIS SAVES YOU ALOT OF AGGRAVATION AND FRUSTRATION WITH YOUR NEW GALAZY S III

What type of mail account is it?
POP, IMAP, etc?
When you got your new phone did you put on a backup of your old phone?
If POP, well POP works by keeping track of what it has downloaded or not. So if it got info from your last phone when you synced your new one, then it knows it already downloaded them, thus won't download them again (just how POP works).

Can I recover lost data from my calendar?

I have an iPhone 4S and had been using the calendar. When I recently purchased an iPad2 Wi-Fi, i lost years worth of data from my calendar when I attempted to sync the two using iCloud. The data is not on either the iPhone or iPad and I'm wondering if there is any way I can recover this?

Check iTunes via sync to see if you have a previous backup of your iPhone that you know contained the calendar data. You can restore your iPad from an iPhone backup. Just do it in iTunes on your computer.

Retrieving calendar and contacts data from OSX Server Time Machine

Due to a system failure I went out an brought a Macbook Air. My other Mac is away being assessed by a repair shop.
By plugging in the Time Machine drive from the other Mac I have managed to recover my files, videos, photos etc. Contacts and Calendars however are proving to to more difficult.
The old Mac was setup using Mavericks Server as a workaround for the removal of Calendar and Contacts iTunes sync in Mavericks.
The Contacts and Calendars are currectly synced with an iPad and an iPhone.
Is there anyway of recovering the Contacts and Calendars data from the Time Machine backup drive, My iPad or iPhone?
Any help appreciated with this complicated problem.
