Calendar web part in SP2007

Hi, there - I want to create (or find) a Web Part I can use to link to a standard calendar and display a month's worth of dates at a time. It would be a splendid bonus if any date containing an event would display in bold. It should look like the month display that
sits at the head of the QuickLaunch on the calendar.aspx page - like this:
I've been Googling like a madman, but no one seems to have tackled this issue. Can it be built in a DVWP? Is it impossible? Is there a commercially-available web part?
Alan M, London

when you say "link to a standard calendar" what do you mean a "standard calendar"?
You can create a calendar view for lists that use date ranges...  Then the list web part will allow you to attach to that view...  What is the calendar's source, that you are trying to connect to?

  • How to get "Calendar in the View" displayed on the page where Calendar web part is displayed?

I have a calendar with overlay set up for 5 views. When the calendar list is open in full page, the "Calendars in View" is displayed on the left pane with all 5 views listed by colors.
    1) I want to display the calendar right on the home page, so I added the calendar web part to the page. But the problem is the "Calendars in the View" does  not show up on the quick launch on home page, it only shows up in calendar list view.
How can I get "Calendars in View" displayed on left pane when calendar web part is displayed? so that users can select different views?
    2) Also it will be better if the "Calendars in View" can display all components of the overlay when not in the default view, so user can toggle thru different views to see each one on the main pane.
Currently, only the default view has all colored views displayed under "Calendars in Views", once you click another view on the list, it just displays the current view, and you have to click the "Calendar" to see all and select another
    one.
Really appreciated if someone can give a solution for at least the #1 problem. great if you have a solution for #2 as well!

  • SharePoint 2010 Calendar web part displaying (False) in every event

I am looking at an issue with a Team site that has a calendar web part on a page. In this calendar web part, every item has "(False)" appended after it. This only displays in the web part. If I access the calendar list directly, the item displays
    correctly.
    For example,
In the calendar web part I will see: Good Friday (False)
In the calendar list I will see: Good Friday
This is the out of the box calendar web part and nothing out of the ordinary looks to be set with it. Why is "(False)" displaying in the web part and how do I get rid of it?
    Thanks,
    Jim
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
According to your description, my understanding is that the calendar web part displayed incorrectly in SharePoint 2010.
Could you please provide a screenshot of the calendar list and the calendar web part?
I recommend to verify the steps below for troubleshooting this issue:
Remove the calendar web part from the page and then add another calendar web part to narrow the issue scope.
Create a new page and add the calendar web part to the page to see if the issue still occurs.
Create a new calendar list and test the same scenario, then compare the results.
Check the XSLT list view web part in the page in SharePoint Designer to see if there is anything wrong.
    Best regards.

  • Calendar Web Part not showing events except in edit mode

We are unable to view calendar events in the calendar view except in edit mode. When you view the page normally, the calendar shows the current day, but you cannot change the month or add new events.
If you change the view to all items you can see all the events but its not in the calendar view which is preferred.
    Any ideas?

  • Events do not appear on Calendar list viewed as web part

    We're recreating a site.
We've got calendars set up that Anonymous can view and read the events (and if they access the calendars directly...they can see everything.
If I embed the calendars in web pages as web parts, the calendars are there...but none of the events appear.  (on our original site, Anon. see events and can open them).
Anonymous has access to the entire site... so I don't know where any security issues could be coming in to play.

    Hi
    Carphuntin_god,
It’s ok for anonymous users. I configured anonymous access for the entire site. Create a web page, add the calendar web part,
set its view to all events, then it shows all the events.
Have a try on another site with default master page.

  • Can not get web part to stay minimized

We have a team site with many web parts on the page many being different calendars. Most the the web part we have set to be minimized. We add a new web part and set it to be minimized by default in the web part settings, as well as clicked the option in
the drop down to minimize. When we save the web part appeared expanded. How can I get it to appear minimized?
    Thanks
    James T.F
    Update:
    In web part properties menu
    Apperance:
    Chorme State = Minimized
    Avanced:
    Allow Minimize = Checked

    Hi James,
It is by design that the calendar view for the calendar web part will display as expanded even though the Chorme State is set to be minimized.
So if you want to set the calendar web part to be minimized by default, then you need to change the view of the calendar view to be a standard view first and then set it to be minimized by default.
    http://griffindocs.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/sp2013-how-to-minimize-a-calendar/
You can also use code to hide the calendar view and add a button which is used to for clicking to expand the calendar view in the same page.
    Best regards.

  • On-Premise SharePoint and Exchange Online -need work around to use My Mail web part.

Due the fact that the My Mail or My Calendar web parts use iFrames they will not display correctly on the page.  I get a message  "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" and then the option to open this content in a new window.
The issue is the iframe and the Browser security to prevent Click-jacking.
    What I've tried - http Response Headers X-Frame-Options -value= Allow-from
    https://outlook.com/owa
    Plus various IE settings.
Page-viewer web part - same issue.
I would really like to use these web parts on my SharePoint site.  Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    DLDevine

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got the "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" error.
You can add the site in trust site to check whether it works.
Open Internet Explorer (the desktop version if you are using Windows 8)
Press Alt + T on your keyboard to show the Tools menu
    Click Internet Options
    Click the Security tab
    Select the Trusted sites zone
    Click the Sites button
Type https://login.microsoftonline.com or other site URL into the Add this website to the zone:field
    Click Add
    Click Close
    Click Apply
    Click OK
    Close Internet Explorer
You can also check the below link, just download the zip and deploy the wsp(Its a web application level feature) and select your web application and activate the feature, in which you want to open the site in an IFrame.

  • Display Calendar View in List View Web Part

We have a list and a calendar view of the list. I wanted to display the calendar view of the list in a List View Web Part in another page in the site.
When I select the 'Calendar View' from the Views drop-down - it does not work.
    Please can you help.

    Hi Aritra,
Is there some errors on your environment? So, you can have two workaround to do it.
You can use SharePoint designer to add an empty data view source on your page ,then select the page.
    Use
Page viewer web part on your page, then put your calendar view web part page URL into your PVWP.

  • Display Calendar in list view in a Web Part

    Hi -
I have a meeting list in a web part.  It displays the calendar view.  I want it to display the list of current events.  I have a current event view set up.  I do not want the user to have to switch the view themselves, I want the current
event view to populate in the web part when they arrive on the page, not the calendar.  I tried switching the calender view default to my current event view, and no luck.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Amy

Do you mean when you click to go to the actual calendar, or have you added the calendar as a web part to another page?
If it's the latter, you should just be able to edit the web part and change the "Selected View" option to Current Events, (Or whatever view) and then click OK, and save/check in/publish the page or whatever you have set up.
If this is what you've already tried, please elaborate on "no luck." What happens?

  • Internet Explorer 11 and SharePoint 2013 Standard - Web Parts and Calendar Don't Display/Render Correctly

    Hello everyone.
I am currently running a fully patched (Service Pack 1) version of SharePoint Standard 2013 On Premises. I am having 2 problems that are reproducible on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on multiple computers when running Internet Explorer 11 (fully updated
through Windows Update). The issues are "fixed" when running compatibility view in the browser or using Chrome/Firefox.
    The issues are as follows:
Issue 1 Calendar view does not display correctly
Issue 2 Web parts do not display correctly when editing a page.
    Picture of calendar
Webpart "edit menu dropdown" in upper right corner is replaced with 2 up arrows. Clicking minimizes web part.
Is there any word on a fix for this? Is this something only I am experiencing? Is there an issue with my SharePoint server? I would hate to have to uninstall IE11 from 300 machines and install IE10.
    Thanks

There are a few critical issues
Pages will not enter edit mode. You will click Settings > Edit Page and the page will simply refresh but will not change over into edit mode. Seems to only affect pages with
    Web Part Zones.
Calendar will not enter edit mode.
Web Part Properties cannot be modified. If you are able to get into edit mode (you can edit wiki pages) you will not be able to modify existing Web Parts by using the Web Part
Properties panel. Instead you will see a really weird collapse button that looks like it is coming from the mobile view but you cannot modify web part properties… even through the ribbon controls.
I cannot use the import spreadsheet app, the error says it is not supported with the current browser.
When I hoover over a “people” field I cannot see their information.
I had all these capabilities with IE9
This suggestion I found online appears to fix issues 1-3.
    http://windowsitpro.com/windows-7/fixing-most-not-all-ie11-compatibility-problems
    To run in compatibility mode
Press ALT + T when viewing your      SharePoint page
Click Compatibility View Settings      in the menu that appears
Click Add to add the current      SharePoint site to your list of compatibility view pages
    Click Close

  • Access Exchange 2013 Calendar from Sharepoint 2013 OWA Web Part

    Hi,
For the moment I have five User
    Mailboxes on Exchange 2010 whose
calendars that appear in a SharePoint
2013 using Outlook Web App Web Part.
In Exchange 2010, IIS has created a new
    WebSite with OWA, ECP
    and some more Virtual Directories,
    where OWA is Windows Integrated
    and Basic Auth. enabled (not
    FBA).
This makes so users do not have additional
logins in SharePoint when they look at
    the calendars.
I now want to move these mailboxes to an Exchange
2013. I must then create a new WebSite
    with Win.Integrated etc, but have
heard it is unsupported. Is there
any other way to solve this?
    Best Regards

    Hello,
    Sorry for delayed response.
I recommend you check the Outlook Hotfix and version number again via Control Panel.
Please check the version number via outlook 2010 "File".
If the outlook version number is 14.0.7113.5000, please try my above suggestion to specify the SSL certificate principal name. Because XP system is not always to look for the next lines on a SAN certificate.

  • Display look up column as drop down list in a web part in SharePoint 2013

    Hi,
I have a look up column in SharePoint 2013 calendar list.I want to show that field with values in the page as drop down list to filter the data based in selected value.
Is it possible through OOB or javascript.
    Please help .
    Thank you.

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to  filter a calendar based a look up column in SharePoint 2013.
Calendar View not support OOTB filters connection. it is disabled for calendar view, you need to change view(not calendar view) so OOTB filters works and get connected to your view.
You can achieve this using combination of jQuery and SharePoint OOB techniques.
For jQuery filters refer to the  blog: enter SharePoint List Filters using jQuery
Also you can filter Calendar View Web Part using JQuery and SPServices:
    http://blogs.visigo.com/chriscoulson/filter-a-sharepoint-calendar-list-with-a-date-picker/

Another  way, you can have a look at the SPFilterCalendar :

  • Issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder located under a Document Library.

Hi, I am facing an issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) located under a Document Library (Product Information Documents).
    The path I am explaining:
Going to the Document Library (Product Information Documents) --> now inside that, clicking on a folder (Wet Seal Support
Systems) --> now inside the folder clicking on another sub-folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) --> Here I want the web page Safeunit.aspx
Issue is that when I reach to the required destination, and want to create the web page by clicking on 'Site Action' --> 'Create' --> 'Web Part Page', now while selecting the Document Library name from the drop-down list, I do use 'Product
Information Documents' since the folder is inside this library only; but that create the page directly under the 'Product Information Documents' library, not under the sub-folder (Safematic Seal
    Support Systems).
    FYI, it is SP2007 version.
Kindly assist in this. Thanks in advance.

I see that you have the namespaces reference in your code.
I think you have changed the NameSpace name of your code to CreateSPFolder, change the reference in all your manifest, and other files to point to the current namespace name. It should help.
    Hope this helps!

  • Add Right Side Column and Web Parts to custom Master page in SharePoint Online

    Hello everyone,
I hope this is a simple question, however I was fighting the issue it presents for a while. I am in the process of customizing SharePoint Online Look-and-feel with a new layout.
The site collection was created as a
Team Site before I got involved with the project, and populated with numerous sub-sites and pages. I activated required
publishing features, created html with corresponding styles and graphics, and used the Design Manager to convert the html file to the custom Master page. While SharePoint automatically assigned “ContentPlaceHolderMain” div area, I
also used default Oslo page as example to copy sections of the code for dynamic components (left column and navigation, recent items, the ribbon, etc.) from it and placed them in my new master page, pointed all CSS references to
my custom style sheets, etc. Everything works great, however I need to make one last addition -
my task is to make changes to display web parts such as Calendar and Recent Documents in the right column in the Master page.
My custom layout has a header, footer, main pan and two side columns. Most of the default master templates come with the LEFT column already embedded and populated with several placeholder
to serve dynamic content (PlaceHolderLeftNavBarTop, PlaceHolderQuickLaunchTop, PlaceHolderLeftNavBarDataSource, PlaceHolderLeftActions, so on).
My challenge is that I have the RIGHT side column as well, for which I don’t think the default placeholder exists. I need to add a small Calendar box and Recent Documents parts to it, so they
display across the entire site governed by this master page.
    The issue is –
even after activating Publishing features (enabled SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure under Site Collection Level, and SharePoint Server Publishing under the Site
Level), there is no Snippet feature (usually available under the generic Publishing Site); this customization of the Team Site allows using Designer and apply custom templates, themes, so on, just like you would under the Publishing collection, but not the
Snippet utility I could use as the solution to embed the web parts on the master page.
Recreating the entire site under Publishing Collection is not an option due to the directions I was given, I am to use this existing one, and need to see if
there is a workaround to either activate the Snippet feature or use another solution to display the web parts inside of the column in the Master page.
If the only solution is to use Web Part Zone, what are the steps to add it AND populate it with the abovementioned apps?
Can anyone suggest how to create a workaround and add this feature? The environment is role-based so both elements need to be dynamically rendered based on the user’s role and activities.
I am more of a front end designer than developer, so if any custom coding and set up required, please kindly provide some basic steps, if possible?..
I greatly appreciate any help and suggestions!
    Thank You!
    Jeff
    Jeff V.

Updating your Master Page to also include a right rail should be sraight forward enough with a new div or divs in your master page and then the proper styles to make room for this column as well as position the column.
I have not seen why you cannot find the snippet gallery link when previewing a HTML Master Page in the browser. Have you tried loading the snippet gallery by its url? As an example, for my tenant on SPO, I can load the Snippet Gallery for the olso.master
    with the following url:
    https://pixelmill.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/ComponentConfigureControls.aspx?ComponentName=TopNavigationNoFlyoutWithStartNode&Url=%2F_catalogs%2Fmasterpage%2Foslo.master
Change the domain to match yours as well as update the "Url" querystring var to point to your master page. See if that loads the snippet gallery.
