Calendars appear as empty Reminder lists?!

Dear Apple Support Community!
Occasionally my Calendars appear as a new list within my Reminders app. This never happen before. (Before I bought the iPhone 5s updated to iOS 7.0.3! With my iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.3, it never happened!)
Yesterday the Reminders app showed me my main Calendar "Private" as a new empty Reminder list. I deleted it, because I thought it made a failed syncing of my main Reminders list, also named "Private". After that, I realized that I deleted my main Calendar "Private". Luckily I made a physical backup on my Mac of the Calendar "Private".
Today the Reminders app showed me again all my different Calendars as new empty Reminder lists. Strangely enough they disappeared after a while. (Without deleting my different Calendars!)
As the iCloud System Status page is not showing any know issues, I suppose that it’s a new iOS 7.0.3 bug.
I’ll feedback this to Apple, but nevertheless I hope that other users may have found a solution for this annoying and dangerous bug.
Yours sincerely,
Marc

I had exactly the same problem! Talk one hour with the apple support that was telling me this is not possible and that reminder lists have nothing to do with calendars and that I have propably deleted the calendar somewehere else! So very happy to see that I am not alone on this one.
I had also an iCal archiv backup. But when I imported the archiv back to iCal on my MacBook the calendar that I deleted would appear only on my machine but won't sync to iCloud and my other devices even if listed under the iCloud calendars and after trying to restart all the iCloud services with logout / login.

  • My calendars became reminder lists and I deleted them. How do I get my calendars back?

I was in the Reminders app on my iPhone 5 and empty lists named after my calendars showed up randomly (first my personal calendar, then my school one). I thought it was some strange bug so I deleted them. When it happened today with my school calendar I looked back at the calendars app and realized that somehow whatever bug (or feature?) that caused my calendars to show up in the Reminders actually caused the calendar to be deleted when I deleted the Reminder list. Is there any way Apple would be able to pull my old calendars back up and is there some way for me to aviod this in the future? I wasn't sure if it really was a bug or if it was a feature I was unaware of and misused.

Maybe this is some new ios 7.1 bug? I never tried using iCloud calendars or reminders before today but I created a shared reminder list and a shared calendar. The shared reminder list showed up as a calendar on another device and the calendar wasn't showing up at all. Went through the Apple troubleshooting list.
On the device where the calendar was missing and the reminder list was showing as a calendar:
Forced refresh of Calendar list in Calendar app. Nothing.
Killed and restarted Calendar app. Nothing.
Turned off Calendar in the iCloud Settings, waited a few minutes, then turned it back on. Success!
Missing calendar showed up and the reminder list no longer showed up as a calendar.
Something is definitely broken here but maybe my fix will work for you. If it's the reverse (calendar showing as reminder list) just toggle the reminder switch in the iCloud settings.

  • Why can I NOT name a Reminder List the exact same thing as a Calendar?

Remember the good old days when ToDo Lists where automatically related to a specific calendar?  I want that back.  Why can I not name a Reminder List and a Calendar with identical titles?  Why do I have to create a calendar named "Blue Project" and then create a Reminder List and name it "Blue Project 2" or some other iteration?  This is totally asinine.

"You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29."
Precisely. How is "loss of functionality" progress or an upgrade? Why should I have to install an extension just to get a "reload" button? What a pile of crap. Why not have a "Use shit interface" tickbox in the Options dialogue so people can choose if they want their version of Firefox to have pants functionality?

  • Is it possible to have a calendar and reminder list with the same name?

I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud on the first day. MobileMe was then set up with my MacBook and so in iCal i saw my calendar events duplicated. I didn't like this so I tried deleting the MobileMe calendars first, then realised I couldn't delete all of them, it seemed that I must have one calendar. I then removed the the account setting (which would have been the smarter thing to do). A few hours later I notice that the calendars I deleted from MobileMe have been deleted from iCloud, as well as associated task/reminder lists. Luckily for me I made a backup before moving to iCloud so I've managed to recover my calendars.
My question is: Can I make a calendar and reminder list by the same name?
After the migration I did have some calendars and reminder lists by the same name eg. Work, Home.

T-Storm, I'm having the same annoying delay on my X-Fi Extreme Gamer card, it's driving me nuts trying to fix it.
I noticed that if I un-tick the Dolbly Digital Li've in the console it goes away, along with the 5. sound, %$*&^^&%!
Is it he same with you? Try un-ticking the DDL while playing something and see if it stops the delay or not. At least it will see if the problem is the card, the connection, the optical cable, or DDL itself.
Dolby Digital Li've works in real-time so I fear that is causing the delay rather then a bad cable or connection. But I don't know if others are getting the same delay or not, if it is DDL then everyone should be getting it.
But, if they are not trying to play a digital signal at the same time as a anolog one they might not notice it.

  • Can the same name be used for both an iCal calendar and reminder list?

In iCal, I have a Reminder list named "Home".  I have been trying to also give a Calendar the name "Home", but iCal does not seem to want me to do this. When I try to use the name Home for a Calendar, it changes it to the name "Home C" (a name that I gave it when I couldn't get it to let me use "Home").  Is this a restriction within iCal?  I have iCal synched with iCloud, which in turns syncs with an app called 2Do on my iPhone.  I am not sure if that may be part of the problem.

    Yes, it can

  • Shared reminder list doesn't show up

I have a separate iCloud ID for sharing reminders, calendars and such. I can successfully share them between my iPhone, iPad and laptop (Mountain Lion).
Today I was trying to share reminder lists with my friends Mark and Peter. We wanted to achieve that we could all see the list shared by Mark. This is what happened:
    - I shared my TODO list with Mark and Peter. Success. They could both see the list and add items to it.
    - Mark shared his TASK list with me and Peter: Peter can successfully see the list. I accept the invitation and when then I get a message 'already accepted, check the sidebar', but the TASK list doesn't show up
    - Peter shared his MYTODO list with me: same thing, I can accept the invitation, I get a message 'already accepted, check the sidebar' but the list doesn't show up.
None of the shared lists show up in my iCloud.com or Reminders app on my iPad, iPhone or laptop.
    Any ideas?

Right-click on the desired folder and choose Get Info from the contextual menu.  In the info window that appears, toward the bottom is a section for Sharing & Permissions (click on the disclosure triangle if the section isn't open).   You may also need to click on the lock (at the lower right corner) to unlock and authenticate in order to make changes.
The normal permissions for a user's Public folder is read only for staff and everyone (items can also be put in the Drop Box).  The normal permissions for the /Users/Shared folder is read & write for everyone, although the appropriate permissions need to be set by the owner (or use something like Access Control List (ACL) entries) to allow people to modify items that are owned by others.

  • Can I make a birthday reminder repeat every year? (Using the Birthday Reminder List)

I see that when I enter contact birthdays they show up on my calendar...great.  But what about the children of my contacts?  I thought I would enter their birthdates using the Birthday Reminder List, but when I enter their birthday, it insists on entering the due date....will this reminder keep repeating each year?  If not, there's no sense in entering the birthdate.  I know I can set up an annually repeating event for the birthday but it just seems like I should be able to use the Birthday Reminder List for this.   Thanks

Here's what I've done which may work for others.  I've scrapped the idea of using the birthday reminders function.  Instead, I created a new calendar (click the settings icon in the upper right of the icloud website) called "Birthdays-Non Contact".  Then I entered the missing bdays as all day events (repeating every year) on this calendar.  So now all my birthdays show on my main calendar....some come from the birthday field in the contacts database and the rest come from my newly created "Birthdays-Non Contact" calendar events.
Interestingly, if I choose to show only my "Birthdays-Non Contact" calendar, all my contact birthdays appear on it as well, so it gives a complete list of all my birthdays and nothing else....cool.
I should say, everything I'm talking about is what I see on the ICloud site.  My husband has the phone at the moment which I presume will show the same picture.

  • Problem sharing a Reminder list with another iCloud user

I'm trying to share a Reminder list with my wife, and even though I follow the instructions, it doesn't seem to work.
I go to iCloud.com in Safari on my Mac, click on Calendar, and I can see my list there in the sidebar, including the one I wish to share. There is a small circle to the right of each lists name, and the instructions say to click this and a pop-up window will appear and ask for the other iClud users info and send them the invitation to share the list. When I click on this circle, nothing happens. It seems like the link is dead. I tried re-loading the page and restarting Safari, but nothing works. Is anyone else having a problem with this?

    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. Go to iCloud.com. Try the x next to Reminders.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For Lion:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

  • Can't join reminder list

I'm trying to setup a shared reminder list with my husband on our Reminders apps in mountain lion 10.8.2.  When I create a new list in Reminders, there is a little "broadcast" type icon to the right of the list's name in the left panel.  I click on this icon and it says: Share "list" with: and a box to put in my hubby's email address.  It sent him an e-mail that says "join Jane's reminder list?" with a link that says Join Reminders.  When he clicks on that, inside the email, it launches the icloud sign in.  He puts in his icloud email and password and clicks on the "sign in" button, he gets: Can't Join Reminders List - Not authorized to  access reminder list - and a "close" button.  We can't figure out what to do to fix this.
We are able to share calendars through iCloud using the same sort of setup, but reminders isn't working.
    Any ideas?
Just tried again and now its hung on the "signing in" with a little wheel that keeps going round and round and round...

I am having a similar problem—my existing shared calendars continue to function, but I am unable to setup a new share.  It appears to work correctly on the 'sharer' side, but when the 'sharee' clicks join calendar, a message says "This calendar can't be joined because it's no longer shared."
I am also having a perhaps related problem where I cannot send event invitations from one user to another—the invite message never comes through to the invitee.
Noticed this for the 1st time today.  I've tested it with re-sharing an existing calendar, and by creating an entirely new calendar.

I can no longer get my calendar to send a reminder e-mail for on a date in the future....alerts no problem

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My calendars appear at launch then disappear within a minute

OS 10.4.11 iCal v2.0.5. Sync is on manual.
Calendars appear for a minute then disappear. No calendars are visible on mobilme. What is up?

I am replying to myself just to post that logging out of mobile me doesn't do the trick. I had to go to program called iSync>file>preferences and unclick the sync this computer box. After I did that my calendar remained stable. I decided to sync my computer info out to .mac. I went to systempreference>.mac>advanced and clicked computer>.mac and asked it to sync. My calendar info is now out on mobile me correctly with each calendar listed and appropriate appts, but the colors are different. After doing that, my calendars on my computer disappeared so I went to iSync and unclicked the sync this computer box again. I quit iCal and reopened and lo and behold my calendars appeared and are again stable. It appears that either auto syncing or manually syncing out to mobile me screws this whole thing up. Is anyone out at MobileMe support reading this?

  • 1.2.0 breaks "missed reminder list" feature that has worked for 10+ years

According to WebOs 1.2.0 release notes, there is a new "feature": If you tap Snooze on a calendar event notification, the notification no longer reappears after the event end time. What this actually means is, if you dismiss a notification by ANY MEANS AVAILABLE (Snooze, close application, back gesture), you will NEVER AGAIN see that notification in your "missed reminder list" after the end time of the event.
Unfortunately, that exactly how me, my wife, and a lot of other folks handle an on the fly TODO List. You put the event on your calendar when you expect to be able to work on it... if you can't take care of it at that precise moment, you ignore it and it goes on your "missed reminder list", to be dealt with later. All forms of "ignoring" now cause a Snooze and all forms of snooze will remove your event from the notification list when it's end time is passed.   Essentially, the "missed reminder list" serves no function now, as its only available during the 30 minutes or so that you may have something scheduled for.
WRONG CHOICE PALM!   WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE A 10+ YEAR OLD BEHAVIOR ON SOME RANDOM WEBOS RELEASE??  if you want to know how it should behave, pick up any Treo or pre 1.2.0 WebOs release.
PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK THE BEHAVIOR OF ARCHIVING EVERY MISSED EVENT UNTIL IT IS EXPLICITLY ACKNOWLEDGED.
    THANKS, Eric

Eric - you nailed this one!
I just noticed this a few days ago and have been "nursing" a "test" calendar entry along through the day trying to come up with a pattern/reason as to why my missed calendar notifications are disappearing.  Someone at Precentral pointed out, to me, that WebOS 1.2.0 included this new "feature" so I came here to see if I was alone in my frustration regarding the logic behind having WebOS automatically decide that I no longer need to see a calendar reminder that is supposed to remind me of the things I can't remember myself.  Instead of doing just that, WebOS is now as weak as my own brain and can't remember what I need to do either!
I'm completely stumped at why this needed to change.  If there's a good reason, perhaps Palm could put a toggle option in WebOS so ME,MYSELF,I can decide when those notifications are removed - ***NOT*** let the OS decide that I don't need to see them anymore - crazy.
Now I need to carry a small post-it note pad with me (or use Tasks/Notes and keep it open).  Calendar is now almost worthless to me after being an asset for a decade or more.

  • Reminder lists not showing up in iCal

I created several reminder lists on my iPhone 4S.  When I checked in iCal to see if they carried across, I saw them at one point.  When I went back a few minutes later, they were gone.  They still exist on the iPhone, but I can't find them in iCal nor do I know how to force a synchronization.

I don't seem to be getting iCal push notifications on my iOS devices and my Macs.  I have current versions of Lion (10.7.3) and iCal (5.0.2) and am using iCloud (@me.com) and the people that are sending me invites are using a variety of email accounts for their own iCloud accounts.  The point is that the invitations show up in the Calendar (outlined and background color of grey with the option to Accept or Decline) but they aren't pupulating in my "inbox" next to the "Calendar" button in the upper righthand corner.  Nor are they indicated on my iOS devices.  Both updated with the latest version of iOS 5.X.X. Anyone help?!
