Calendars have just disappeared, Help!

Some of my calendars (with really important information) have completely disappeared! I have switched calendars off and back on in system settings with no joy! Help please?

You are asking a question of a post that was written almost 3 years ago. At that time, there was no FaceTime app for iOS devices.
Try restoring the device to Factory Settings to see if the app shows up (do not restore using a backup):

  • Photos in a project have just disappeared!

Not sure if this problem was there before or after I installed Aperture 3.4.2 (about two hours ago) but in one of my projects a large number of photos have just disappeared.  The ratings remain but all you can see is a black space and the size of the files has been reduced from around 28 MB to just 100kb or so.
I have all the original photos this partcular project backed up elsewhere but without all the adjustments I made.
So far this has happened to only one project but I'm a little worried it might be some kind of virus.  Help!

Oh and by the way I don't have the filter set on the viewer (it says unrated or better).

  • My emails in mail have just disappeared leaving the headers of date etc

my emails in mail have just disappeared leaving the headers of date etc
any one out there who has had this before

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
    Envelope Index
    ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Warning: The process may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. For reasonable-sized mailboxes, it should only take a few minutes.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Contacts have just disappeared

I don't know what has happened but one minute my contacts were in my address book and the next minute I go to phone someone and I have no contacts.
My icloud contact sync is off, and I desperately need to know how to get my contacts back.  It's happened to me once before but I can't remember how I got them back, I remember it had something to do with the calendar maybe, but even so I haven't messed with any settings and it's super frustrating that the contacts just disappear whenever they feel like it.

Thanks so much, funny thing when I went back into my contacts now to try that they all appeared again.......... So frustrating but thanks a mil will def keep it in mind if and when it happens again

All my contacts have disappeared off my phone- i have synced with my macbook but they havent come back- help!

I had this same problem.  I called Apple and they have not been helpful.  They haven't even said anything about their server but I think its the case.  It happened to me twice.  On 1/16/13 and then again 1/23/13 when the first issue hadn't yet been resolved.  Any idea who I can ask for at Apple to get this resolved?

  • All my contacts have just disappeared from my iphone 5c

as it says, I just went to send a text message and noticed all my contacts are just numbers, went into my contacts and there are no contacts there at all, I have not used iCloud nor have I synced my phone with itunes previously, so do this mean they have all just gone! I hope note as I rely on it for my business contacts, I couldn't sync with iCloud because my MacBook Pro is 10.6 so I can't get the app, don't understand whats going on and panicking! They were there this morning and since then I haven't updated my phone or done anything out of the norm. Any help please!
    Thank you

Click on the Apple icon in the upper left hand corner of the desktop. Select "About this Mac" and it will tell you which operating system you are using. It is a moot point now since it would seem you are not using Time Machine. If you are on Leopard (10.5.x) as your signature indicates then I highly recommend you get Time Machine up and running so that you can recover from such emergencies that you are now faced with. If you are still on Tiger (10.4.x) then upgrade to Leopard and get Time Machine working for you. It has saved me several times already and is worth the price of the upgrade by itself.

  • Half of my notes have just disappeared. Why could this have happened?

Half of my notes have disappeared in one day. Do notes expire after a certain amount of time to clear up space? What could have caused this?

One possibility is if you have more than one email account which your Notes are synchronized to, and either you changed your Notes view to only be looking at one of the accounts instead of all of them, or perhaps you disabled the Notes for one of your email accounts, not realizing that you had some notes syncing to that account.
In the top-left corner of the Notes app, you see "< Accounts"?  If so, tap that to see a list of email accounts that have Notes enabled, then verify that you're choosing "All Notes" as opposed to something like "Gmail".  You should also check your iPhone Settings (Settings/ Notes) to see which account is specified as your default.
If you don't see "< Accounts" at the top of the Notes app, then you only have one Notes email account (or none at all, where Notes are saved only on the iPhone).  If this is the case, see below.
The other possibility is that you went into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars and turned off the Notes feature for one or more email accounts.  Check to see if that's the case, and if so try turning the setting back on (although some email accounts won't re-synchronize notes when you turn Notes OFF and then back ON).
Another possibility is that you're using Yahoo for Notes, which is notoriously bad at maintaining Notes (and Contacts IMO).

  • Both Networks Just Disappeared -- Help!!

I have been using Time Capsule with MacBook Pro since July of 2010 and recently got an iPad. I am also using Apple TV. When I first got the MacBook and the Time Capsule, I set up two secured networks at home. The set-up process was pretty seamless and virtually problem-free (although, to be honest, now I do not remember what I did then). Yesterday evening, however, I noticed that both networks simply "disappeared" on me. Does anyone know why something like this might have happened? Any advice for what I should do to "restore" them, if that's possible? If it's not, would someone care to give me some advice on how to set up new networks, using Time Capsule? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello PennsylvaniaBarrister. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
You haven't mentioned what you have tried yet to restore your wireless networks, so forgive me if I state the obvious: Have you tried simply, performing a complete power recycle of your networking components?
If not, please try the following:
o Power-down the modem, Time Capsule (TC), and computer(s); wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Power-up the TC; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    o Power-up the computer(s).
Computers connected to the TC by wire or wireless should now be able to "see" the wireless networks and gain access to them. Please post back your results.

  • Applications just disappear - help!

Over the last couple of weeks applications that have been running fine suddenly seem to disappear. They are still in the dock, but when I try to access them, I get a question mark and they are nowhere to be found in the Finder. So far I have lost iTunes, iPhoto, and now my address book! I haven't deleted these (nothing in the Trash). Does anyone have any idea as to why this keeps happening? I had to reinstall iPhoto from the disk but there must be a reason as to why they disappear?

Perhaps Spaces is the problem? I have found a repeatable problem with Spaces that causes windows in applications to disappear even when Spaces is NOT enabled. If you tried out Spaces and then clicked the box so Spaces was not enabled, it will start spaces after about 15 minutes by itself.
After this happened to me, I
    1) went to Spaces in the System Preferences
    2) enabled Spaces
    3) removed the applications I had set by clicking on the - (minus) button
    4) unchecked the enable Spaces box
    The disappearing windows stopped.
I have reproduce the disappearing windows by enabling and disabling Spaces several times and each time after I put applications in Spaces and then checked the enabled box, after about 15 minutes, my window would disappear. When it happens, you can press the key combinations to switch between Spaces (Control-arrow or Control-1 or 2, etc.) and it will change the space. Then if you go to the Spaces System Preferences, you will see that it is not enabled.
Another method I found on a different thread was after this happens, go to the Spaces System Preference, check the enable box and then uncheck it.
I tried this and it seems to work too.

  • I updated my iPhone4 to iOS5.1 and my ' ' symbol in my Contacts and Calendar have now disappeared.  How can I get them back?

My + symbol is gone from my contacts and calendar.

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
If this does not work, set it up again as new device, without using the latest backup afterwards.

  • Some of my calendars have disappeared

Does anyone know how to restore calendars? All but one of my calendars have just disappeared from my iPad 2. Help!

I am what sounds to be the exact problem.
About a month ago I started to notice that some of my pictures were randomly acting up. The thumbnails still appeared in iPhoto, but when double clicked, an error would occar. I tried reverting to original and that seemed to work, even though I then needed to re edit the once missing pics. But since then, all of my pics have gone "missing" with the thumbnails still appearing. I tried to revert them to the originals again, but that doesn't make a difference any more.
How can I get my pictures back and prevent this from happening again?
On another note, I need to transfer my photos from my PC to my Mac Book Pro. I do not have an external drive or a router to use. I am buying an iPod Video and will be using it to tranfer my iTunes from my PC to Mac. Can I use it to tranfer my pics? I was using Picasa on my PC, how would I transfer them. I will need detailed instructions as my PC keeps screwing up, so I know I am doing it right and if it doesn't work, it's not me.
